We are at the children's hospital so this is really close for a quick bite the worst teriyaki Ive had in my life the beef was in chunks and in skewers the beef taste was not good at all the salad has this horrible fish sauce dressing and its on the expensive side for the portions! I wish we could have gone back for a refund

Top teriyaki spot! This is the OG style teriyaki from the good old days. It's the way it should be, tender thigh meat chicken, grilled over a flame, perfectly charred, and that sweet savory syrupy teriyaki sauce. Over a bed of fluffy rice, and you have heavenly old school teriyaki. There are many so-called teriyaki places, but this spot is how it was meant to be. To top it off. It's run by a sweet older couple.

Seattle is known for their teriyaki so we wanted to check out one of the more talked-about teriyaki places in the area. Toshi opened the first location in Mill Creek in 1976 and is known to be the Seattle area's first teriyaki shop. He still cooks at that location but there are multiple locations that have opened throughout the greater Seattle area. This location is near U Village and the University of Washington with a small parking lot that is utilized by the other shops in the plaza. We got the chicken teriyaki ($13.49) and we thought it was okay. The portion size could've been bigger with more chicken, especially for the price. The chicken didn't have a ton of flavor (although I did like the char marks) and the teriyaki sauce was the saving grace to that. We definitely could've used more of the sauce. It is a chain but this shop felt like a mom-and-shop between the person at the cashier and the person cooking (they look like a married couple?). This is a decent casual spot for a quick meal.

Looks like I found another go-to teriyaki joint. After a super long day, all I wanted to do was get food and go home to decompress. I was craving Teriyaki and scouted a new teriyaki restaurant in town. The teriyaki was super flavorful and tender. I thought the portions were super generous for the price of old $10.95. It's a score in my opinion! Get you some Toshi's Teriyaki if your in the area! :) Also, I noticed they have a really good lunch pricing special! I defineitly wanna stop by for lunch one day!

Went in on a cold rainy Thursday. I was able to order my food and have a seat. It's definitely a walk in and out kind of place with seats if you want to eat it hot and fresh. After about ten minutes, my food was ready, as I waited I could see the flame of the grill working on the chicken. The restaurant was filled with the great aroma of grilled chicken that kept me hungry. The chicken overall is well balanced in teriyaki flavor. It's not too sweet but it's also incredibly savory and addicting. I'm glad they provided such a large portion size. I'm glad they placed it on a bed of rice so the rice had that fantastic flavor. The salad had a great vinegary-type dressing that was a good refresh. Overall it's a fantastic value and I would love to come during lunch as it looks like they have an even higher value meal.

Spicey chicken - $16.54 (before tip). The chicken was great. The sauce is sweet, somewhat peppery, but has no heat at all.

For $16.54 (pre-tip) I got the spicey chicken, which was a filling meal, even for someone like me who often eats two meals at a time. The spicey sauce doesn't have any heat, but not a big deal, it's still good. Would have been nice to have a bit more salad to balance the meal more, but i can see most people thinking they were getting less if the two squares just had cabbage. The price isn't way up there, but teriyaki used to be an affordable meal in Seattle for people living on a tight budget, and it seems like that's not a thing anymore. I would eat this weekly if prices were like they used to be.

Foods amazing but marcus is even better. This guy is an amazing human and deserves all the tips ever. Marcus works super hard and is such a nice guy, this guy also has the nicest mustache i've ever seen, the food here is definitely made with love, my man marcus needs a raise. Says he played baseball growing up i bet he was a stud, he provided perfect tips on the food and what was good for us new timers. We love you marcus!

Mom and pop shop that offers generous portion and great tasting teriyaki! The meat has a nice charcoal aroma with their secret recipe teriyaki sauce! Def recommend the regular chicken teriyaki!

Got the lunch special it was the best teriyaki I've had in awhile. Spicy and sweet. Salad dressing was super light but overall good.

I was genuinely excited to try Hokkaido Ramen Santouka at University Village. After all, ramen…read morecravings + convenient parking is usually a winning combo. We started with the chicken karaage that was fried nicely, but lacked depth of flavor, as if they didn't marinate it long enough beforehand. It came with a dipping sauce that helped, but the chicken itself felt like it needed a little more personality. The gyoza, on the other hand, were impressively very petite. You get five tiny pork & chicken potstickers with delicate, thin wrappers nicely pan-fried. Tonkotsu Shoyu ramen for my friend and black garlic ramen for me, we both ordered the regular size. I'll admit, I might have missed some fine print, but I was a bit surprised my bowl came with just half an aji-tama, a couple pieces of fatty chashu, and sliced red onion. I've grown used to the full ramen ensemble with seaweed, kikurage mushrooms, the whole supporting cast so it felt a little sparse, but it could also be the Hokkaido way. The noodles were thin and had a slight chew. The broth was fine, savory but not amazing. Overall, it was not bad, just not especially memorable. We also shared a cold plate of corn and butter topping plate. I assume the idea is to let it melt into your soup, but the initial impression was a bit puzzling and slightly underwhelming. Service was perfectly fine but nothing standout. We went around 3pm, so it was pretty quiet. Parking is fairly easy but it was also kinda busy, they have both a parking lot and a parking structure nearby. The biggest surprise? The bill. Two ramens, a couple small appetizers, and two sodas totaled over $70. I know prices are up everywhere, but it did make me pause and wonder if the experience quite matched the cost. Overall, it wasn't a bad meal, just not one that's pulling me back anytime soon. That said, I could see myself popping in for a quick snack (those tiny gyoza do have their charm) and a beer if I need a break from U Village shopping.

Food: I had one of the bento combos and it came with miso soup, a side salad, and a large dinner plate. The first thing that stood out to me was how much of everything came with the bento. On top of that, everything was very fresh and tasty. The dragon roll was also very good! Service/Ambiance: The staff here was very friendly. The restaurant isn't huge so I'd imagine it could get pretty packed during a lunch or dinner rush. There a few parking spots out front in the plaza, but also lots of street parking nearby. Price: For the quality and portions of the food, I would say this is a great value. The bento was around ~25 and the roll was ~18 which is pretty standard in 2026

Each plate came out looking like a little celebration, bright roe, silky slices of fish, creamy avocado, and just the right amount of crunch. It was fresh, and full of that sweet flavor that hits exactly right. Altogether, this was a dinner that felt fresh, vibrant, and deeply satisfying. Plus the service was great and the staff were very helpful.

It was cramped, uncomfortable, and honestly not an appropriate spot for a family with a baby when there were plenty of other open tables available. On top of that, we had to carry and set up the high chair ourselves, and it was covered in greasy stains and grime. We had to wipe it down ourselves before our baby could even use it. The whole experience felt careless and unwelcoming. Basic cleanliness and seating consideration for families should not be this difficult, especially during a slow period with almost no customers.

The chef was so awesome and incredibly attentive (he doesn't miss anything between guests) and his knife skills were so impressive. There were 18 courses (might've been more including appetizer and dessert). Flavor combinations were insane and the fish (especially ottoro tuna) literally melted in my mouth.
