Carbs are life, so bread is something I will never get tired of. I usually stop by this Korean bakery whenever I shop at Hmart and get the usual - milk bun and/or melon bread. The milk bun used to be my favorite, but I feel like they changed their recipe. What I liked before about their milk bun was that it had traces of vanilla bean, which I loved. The bread is soft and has a subtle flavor to it, but now the filling just consists of vanilla flavoring. Since changing it, I saw myself reaching for the melon bread more often. The melon bread has a crumbly, green, sweet top over a toasted melon vanilla biscuit. Just the right amount of sweetness for me with every bite. read more

Based on the strawberry macaron cake, this place is amazing. Stopped by the market on my birthday and as we walked past the bakery, my cousin told me to pick out a cake. I wasn't too excited about their small selection and the price tags attached to them were even more discouraging. My cousin told me the strawberry cake tasted like the strawberry shortcake ice cream bar. Personally, I'm not a fan of that either, but I know that many in my family enjoy it. Quietly, I told my cousin that I'd like that one, but the one in the display case wasn't very pretty. She went right up to the worker and asked for a different one. There was a bit of a language barrier between them until my cousin just stopped beating around the bush and bluntly told the worker that the cake is ugly. She was very accommodating and brought another out from the back. Once we paid for it, they let us keep it in their fridge until we were done with our grocery shopping. They only provided the candles, knife, and matches after we asked for it, but they were complimentary. It was an (8 inch?) round cake for mid $30s. I didn't think it would be worth it because my family usually doesn't finish cakes. I wasn't even planning on having more than a sliver. I was so, so wrong. That cake was bomb. That cake ended up being way too small. Her description doesn't do the cake justice. I can't even describe it myself. The price tag stopped bothering me after the first bite. I order a chocolate cloud cake for my sons birthday. When ordering the cake, the person taking my order kept cutting me off as if she already understood what cake I'm ordering. Feeling uncertain of this person, I repeat my order four times and even made her confirm. When I finally got to the bakery on the day of my sons birthday and the cake was wrong. She told me I misunderstood her and said, "you gonna buy?" She was not sorry, she just wanted to know if I will pay for it. She just ruined a child's birthday and she really could care less. I made a phone order for the Mocha Butter Cream Cake #4 for birthday, the staff named Anderson helped me with the order, super nice guy, he answered all my questions and helped me schedule the pick up details. Unfortunately, after I picked up and tasted the cake, it was a complete disappointment. When I placed the phone order, I specifically asked for LESS SWEET, but the baker totally forgot about it and made the cake SUPER SWEET instead, which means the baker doesn't care about customer's special requirements and can't follow the instructions. No one in the family enjoyed the cake, and it just felt like the cake didn't worth the money! If you aren't into super sweet cakes, then Tous les Jours is the place for you. I always get their Cloud cake for family birthdays. This is not your typical Asian cake. The cake is really reminiscent of a cloud, with a super airy and light batter as well as a light whipped cream with fruit on top and inside. Out of all the Korean bakeries in CA, this one is the best. Their baked goods are tasty as well, but the star is definitely the cake. I recommend getting the larger cake since it is only a few dollars more. In addition, make sure you call for availability as they don't usually sell them in the mornings on weekends and they run out on occasion. You can reserve yours in advance over the phone, and they will provide candles and a plastic cake cutter. Located inside the H-mart. read more

I would give 4 out of 5 stars for the bread itself. Bread here is not cheap. By far, this bakery offers the best variety of breads, especially if you're a fan of any cream-filled bread like their cream-cheese blueberry bread, milk sticks, coffee bread, etc. My wife and my favorite would be their taro cream filled bread; not only does the cream alone taste like taro, but also the bread itself. Their cream cakes also seem to be quite popular and visually appealing. However, several other things are clearly lacking at this location. This location has been open for several months by now and we have remained as returning customers despite all the hiccups: 1) Placed an order and paid for a birthday cake order a month in advance. Called the bakery to notify them I was running late for the pick-up time as promised initially the day and realized they forgot to make the cake. 2) Expected to have all the bread freshly-baked and available when they opened, but played it safe by calling them to confirm before making a trip there. They said taro cream bread would be ready by a certain time, so I showed up at that time and had to wait an additional 15 minutes since it was still not ready. 3) Saw a live fly flying inside a bread display case and notified the cashier about it. He looked clueless AF and highly doubt he proceeded to sanitize and remove the bread there. As disgusted as we were, we insisted to take the freshly baked bread instead of grabbing the ones on display. Cashier proceeded to grab the freshly baked taro-cream filled bread from the racks by the oven. When we finally returned home, we realized it was bare taro bread with no cream. FML. A completely forgettable cake that was clearly stale. I did not go myself to pick it up but this was recommended. (Probably to clear out their old cakes) The outside frosting was fairly sweet, but barely edible. The cream inside was mediocre. The chocolate part of the cake tasted okay. While their motto is fresh bread everyday, it seems that they outsource some of their cakes, so make sure to check the labels or you might just get an old stale cake. read more

I purchased the milk chocolate cake for $40 and was surprised and disappointed to find that the cake was extremely stale and did not taste fresh. It was definitely a 2 day old cake!!! Please stand by your company's mission to only sale freshly made cakes daily. This is also a sanitary concern to sale products that are not fresh, especially with the summer heat that we are faced with! Here is a review based on true customer experience here. I came here a few time and bought their drinks, I really think that there were many times the drink is not how it's supposed to be. Even if they had customers lined up they couldn't possibly mess up like that. I was the only customer ordering drinks, yet both my drinks had no ice. And their over $5 drink lacked ingredient that suppose to make the drink like it should be, so I guess the kid behind the counter just decided to sell a cup of water for $5. There was another time I bought a ice matcha latte, that was just a cup of milk with no matcha taste whatsoever. It was always a disoriented questionable tasting drink you wonder why you even spend money on. I think they either try to save ingredient or the worker is someone who can actually never get fired so they just do whatever they want. Worst Experience Ever My daughter has been looking forward to her birthday with a cute birthday cake. We've been looking around all the bakeries around us and finally she decided the Chocolate Bear Cake from this store. We ordered and paid 5 days in advanced just to make sure to get what my daughter wants. So, when I went and tried to pick up today, my cake was sold to other customer! They asked me if I can pick another cake instead. Sorry, this is totally unacceptable and I just asked for full refund and called other Tous Les Jours stores (sorry, this one doesn't have any connection with other stores) immediately to see if I can get the exact same one. Luckily, I was able to reserved one in IRVINE!!!!! I'm lucky that I found anther one in different store and I'm still to drive that far and pick it up. I don't eat much bread or tasty treats, but when I do, Tous Les Jours inside of H-Mart is the spot to go to! I love it because the items they carry, work perfectly for a quick breakfast, afternoon/midnight snack, or even a delicious dessert after dinner. It is hard to find a bakery that has good pastries, AND good coffee. But this is definitely a one of a kind spot, where the caramel macchiato pairs so well with their Red Bean Donut. One of my personal favorites. Might I say also, that it is very convenient to be located inside a grocery store, to also pick up the items I need all in one spot! Their service operations my be lacking since they just opened up not too long ago. I purchased a cake with them, but then charged me the value of the customer in front of me instead who had a greater value than me. They then issued a "Refund" back to my CC and expect to receive the credit back to my card. It's been a month and I still haven't received anything. I spoke with the manager at the store 10 times on the phone but they either never pick up or they just simply don't know what to do in resolving similar issues like this one. Finally they referred me to speak with customer service at HMart, but they either dont speak any english at all or they weren't able to help me. They then asked me to email the receipts to HQ to get it escalate and it's been 3 weeks and still haven't gotten a response back from them. My suggestion to all customers who come here to be careful of what the cashier charges on your card, otherwise good luck on waiting XX months on getting your refund back. read more
