Visiting my niece in Hermosa Beach. She took us to her favorite restaurant that she goes to constantly and raves about this place ... Tower 12! I said, well let's go ! let's see what all the hype is about... She was right on point this hidden gem is so quaint and much larger than you would imagine the courtyard patio has this gigantic tree right in the middle with little tea lights everywhere. the atmosphere is like sitting someplace in the south at a plantation. Yet, we are steps from the beach. We enjoyed margaritas and I had the barbecued salmon with asparagus with a delicious citrus tomato chutney with just a kick a spice... so so good... One of the best restaurants to go after a swim at the beach.. I am VERY picky about my hamburgers and chicken sandwiches, but this place was SO good. The burger melted into your mouth and it's a huge portion. I got their Single Tower 12 Burger with Truffle Fries and it was worth the price. The Single size has two patties! My partner got their Beach City Fried Chicken Sandwich and I took a bite! SUPER FRESH. They added tangy slaw into their sandwich which made it taste amazing. The service was great! The waiters always checked on us to see if we were doing okay. There are plenty of seatings, but I recommend to reserve (if they can reserve) if you have a party of 6+. There's seatings outside on the first floor and seating on the second floor. The second floor has a bar area for bar sitting and areas where host needs to seat your party. The second floor can be considered inside seating, but it feels like you're on a beach tower so there are open windows to see the sunset and feel the fresh air! read more

DISCRIMINATORY ESTABLISHMENT. Be very cautious when choosing to support this bar. "Manager" LUIS allowed 5 patrons after my group of 4. I was further asked if it was only two girls, then they would let us in. When I called them out on it they began making excuses. Either you hold firm to your policy or not. But instead, they were being selective and all the people being let in after they were "closed" were white. Putting this review out there so people are aware of their practices. Came here Sunday morning and grabbed a seat overlooking pier ave. Best view in Hermosa! I was immediately greeted by Casey and promptly given a menu and water. Jacob shortly after asked me if I wanted anything to eat or drink. We struck up a very nice conversation (great guy) and I ordered the surfer's breakfast and a beer. The food was excellent. We have been here once before and remembered how good the food was. We decided to come as we were waiting for our Top Golf adventure. We didn't see a hostess outside so we walked up the stairs to the top floor and found the back bar seating area open. Not a huge space but they made it work with different types and styles of seating. The bartenders are also your servers so just be mindful of that. They were all super friendly though! The brunch menu is good and has something for everyone. They even made an exception to make my son a plain cheese pizza because there wasn't really a menu for kids. As expected it was a busy time but luckily Brady helped us out with finding a good spot to finish watching the game.. sipping on a cucumber crushed gin cocktail was the perfect touch. With the energy positive, let the food positivity begin. Ordered some wings and man did they not disappoint.. let's get saucy! Tempura cauliflower with that sauce.. yum! Let's go to the Tower! Best place to people watch- a Saturday afternoon is hysterical. I must say, their tomato soup with grilled cheese is one of my favs there! The pizza is popular as well. I do love my rum, so of course their Mai tai is yum ! This place sits right smack in the middle of Pier Square, upstairs, with a fun vibe. 3-1/2 stars. It was a rainy day in the South Bay, and my friend recommended Tower 12 for a quick drink. The place was busy, but we still got a seat inside. The bar is on the second story along the promenade, just steps from the Hermosa Pier. Very convenient, and I can imagine it beautiful on a sunny day. Ordered the Por Qué No Margarita, which was STRONG! Loved the chipotle powder rim for that extra kick. Solid drink that makes me want to have another, or try something else on the drink list. Reason why I knock off a star was the service was INCREDIBLY slow. There were patrons, and perhaps it was understaffed, but it took over 30 minutes just to get our drink and another 30 minutes to get the check. I love this place!! Came in on a busy Sunday to watch football and the staff was totally on it all day long. Bartenders got my "complicated" (so???) drink order perfect, and our food came quickly and was delicious, especially the pizza (cheese crust a must), and the meatballs are my favorite. It's a good spot for a long day at the beach or to watch the sunset. My partner and I went after our beach date at around early dinner time (5-6) and there was still plenty of seats! It was hard getting a host to help us at first, but when we did it was great service! We ordered the chicken sandwich and the classic tower 12 burger to try and both had so much flavor! It does get loud in the bar so if you want a more quiet space I would recommend sitting downstairs or in one of the rooms on the right side if they are open. Went here in New Year's Eve just after sunset on the walk back to a friend's place. It seems to have a good crowd. Nice ambiance and decent drinks (I got a Moscow mule). A bit loud (went around 5-6pm) but nice that they have tvs and had some football games on. I'd definitely go back. I'm sure it was a fun place later that night (they had something starting at 8:30 I think). Love that they have both paper and plastic straws available. read more

AVOID the EGOMANIAC DJ at Tower 12 Karaoke on Thursdays at all costs. After tipping Dani 20$ and buying him a shot of Jameson as a thank you (I've been coming to karaoke here for over a year). A prospective co-singer for my band requested Shallow (a duet song) and called me up on stage when it was her turn. We thought it would be a fun way to test our vocal chemistry and get to know eachother. He then proceeded to hijack the song and would not let me sing it with her. I have done karaoke around the world, and have never seen the DJ hijack a song in my 10 years of doing karaoke. On his way to the bathroom, I caught him after and said "Dani that was disrespectful". He then proceeded with "F U, this is my show-find a better song to duet" and stormed off. I gave him a piece of my mind after when I took this photo and promptly left T12. Karaoke does not exist to fuel the DJs ego- it is a fun way for friends to blow off steam- good or bad singers alike. A beach vibe sports bar located smack in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the Hermosa pier (on the second floor). The food and cocktails are really good here and the prices are very reasonable. We made a reservation here to watch some NFL playoff games and to celebrate a couple of friends birthdays. We had a pretty large group but the seating area is well ventilated so we were feeling better with regards to the pandemic and proximity to other people. Ordering was pretty easy with easy to read menus using your phone. I ordered a tiki drink and the fried chicken sandwich with a side of fries. The tiki drink was actually pretty darn good. I've been to some sports bars were the tiki drinks are just overly sugary, but the drinks were well-balanced here with some nice 'oomph'. The chicken sandwich was as good as expected especially from a bar. I would rank this chicken sandwich on the higher end of sandwiches I've eaten at bars in the past. I was a big fan of the french fries - hot and crispy. The fries are an add-on but I would recommend you getting the fries for sure. If I could give a zero star review I would! We made a reservation for 10 people for dinner in advance. We confirmed the reservation the day off. When we arrived that eventing we were seated at a couch and very small low table (coffee table style). There was no way we could enjoy dinner and drinks in that setting and they said they could not find us a table to work for our group. We went across the street and spent our $$$ on dinner and drinks for 10 at a restaurant that was happy to accommodate our group on the fly! We will never go back to Tower 12! read more

Evening Service: On the upper North side of the bar. Most if not all three of the bartenders were messing around with each other. Not even asking us if we were helped. At the end a customer behind us told them that we needed assistance. At that point I was fed up and left the bar. We moved to the South end of the bar. I explained my experience to the bartender. And to our surprise she really helped us and provided us with two free drinks. She really made us feel like we were customers and not just someone that had to be a part of a group to be acknowledged.
