Well i was excited to finally hit town docks. I Kept seeing the big lobster roll on their menu (not the 45 colossal one but the big one for 36.00. I ordered it butter poached. What I got was mostly the claw piece that no one eats because it Tastes like sea water mush (Not claw meat the actual claw) zero tail meat and some flaked pieces with a side of Melted butter. For 36.00 I expected a whole lot more than that. Everyone's else's were meals were just Ok . The waiter was a nice kid not his fault and very attentive . We just returned from a week of camping in Meredith, NH and bookended our stay at Town Docks with dinner the first and last night. Food was delicious, menu diverse and interesting, and staff friendly and attentive. Our final night the weather was perfect for sitting outside and we opened for the second floor balcony overlooking the water. Prices were reasonable and good selections for cocktails. What can I say about the view. It is simply awe inspiring! I have been there twice and enjoyed it both times. Was there a few nights ago, Saturday, and it was packed at 7pm (as expected). There was a line of 40 people waiting for an outside seat. Luckily I was alone and found a seat at the bar. I ordered the painkiller bucket (attaching a photo). $14 and says it is for 2-4 people. I enjoyed mine greatly. I had already eaten but wanted to try the shrimp cocktail. It was ok. They boil the shrimp in a seasoning and it just didn't have the crispness of what it should have. read more

My frappé took longer than any if the other drinks. Why? My frappé should take just as long as every other drink. I mean you cant just make a man wait for his frappé. Its not right. I love this restaurant for many reasons. Mostly because this is where I worked while in college. I have so many memories here, one being the day that I met my husband. But besides all of those great memories this is a great restaurant. The Town Docks is a very casual restaurant. There is a "cafeteria-style" section inside the restaurant and a server section outside including their upstairs porch. If you're going to come to this restaurant please go outside and get waited on. It's such a great experience. They make you feel like you're on a tropical island. It's located right on the edge of Lake Winnipesaukee in Meredith, you can even pull your boat up to one of their dock slips. The outdoor section is a sandy beach. They have a tropical beach bar and Caribbean music playing. They frequently have live bands outside performing as well. This is such a fun place to go. And the food is great. They serve basic cuisine, fried & grilled seafood to burgers and salads. My favorite thing is a frozen drink that they serve in half of a watermelon. So big and SO yummy! When I worked there it was a special drink so we only had it occasionally but I think the last time I stopped in it was a permanent fixture on their drink list. Make sure you leave room for dessert. After dinner walk around to the other side of the building to "Franky's" the ice cream shack. This place is awful. Get an overpriced drink with absolutely no alcohol and leave. Or just save yourself $50 and go to Patrick's in Gilford. Awful Tourist trap. We ordered $19 steak tips and got 6 tiny little pieces of rubbery steak. We also made the mistake of ordering chicken tenders which came from the frozen foods section to the grocery store for a lovely $12. When I questioned the waitress she said "Well that's how they come!" Our table was covered in a sticky goo and the menus had remnants of the last patrons meals. Now that I think about it.. I believe there was more food stuck to the menus vs. the order of steak tips. First time to Town Docks. I found it a bit confusing with no one really taking time to explain the whole inside/outside, full service vs self service set up. We wanted full service but ended up being pushed into placing orders at the counter & having to pick them up ourselves. Then you get relegated to the lesser seating areas. The indoor dining area is kind of dingy. The outdoor space has the benefit of a beautiful view. My daughter had a burger & I had pulled pork. Both very good. Makes for a decent casual lunch. We got ice cream (excellent!) from the take out window and walked the dock afterwards. That was the highlight! read more

The location is 5* - on the water, views of the lake, lights at night, etc. Can't be beat! The servers are young and enthusiastic and do a great job. The food is pretty average - enjoyable, but nothing to stoke a culinary whim. Prices are reasonable and the vibe itself is worth a vist. Definitely reocmmended. read more

Found this gem on the shoreline of the lake! The service was better than words can express! The manager is a extremely hilarious yet accommodating individual. The view was superb with a view of Lake Winnipesaukee! The food was excellent! I ordered a burger with pulled pork and it was cooked to perfection! There is seating for the entire family and friends! Love this place during the summer - essentially a 'beach bar' on the lake. They have a really creative casual menu and the bar is a perfect place to post up on a summer night. They usually always have live music too - good or bad, you ask? Who gives a shit! It's a great band, it's a bad band - it's like pizza baby, it's good no matter what! Town Docks are the best summer spot in the lakes region. They have done a great job at expanding their outdoor seating which is totally lakeside. Being able to actually put your feet in the sand while having a drink is the ultimate relaxing lakes region summer outing. The food is great. It's not like the other Common Man restaurants where you expect some great, gourmet meal with fabulous presentation. You're in the sand. The food is perfect for that atmosphere. They cater to everyone- whether they're walking around Meredith or coming off the boat- you can get what you want. They have awesome appetizers, salads, sandwiches and entrees. Everything is great and tastes wonderful. For the price, it's exceptional. They have a nice selection of mixed drinks but they're generally on the weak side. The watermelon bowls, in theory, sound wonderful. They taste alright too but there's really nothing in the way of alcohol in it. For what you pay, it's not worth it. Being a part of the Common Man Family, I have to say that I'm always disappointed in the service at Town Docks. While I am completely understanding of the fast-paced atmosphere and that the seating is outside (and quite a distance from the kitchen) the service is just not great. Little pricey for the lake view. This is more of a family place and vacation resort so they are going to ofcourse make up for the seasonal push. I didn't mind the lobster roll (traditional that is ) however I ordered 3 appetizers to try ( tuna ) negative 10 , chips and salsa ( very cheap and put together ) calamari ( old and no taste just all grease ) . However I do need to realize I shouldn't of ordered tuna at a lake . The food was nothing special , place is very casual. Just was expecting more I guess as I am getting married at church Landing next year. Church landing is just trying to represent a whole different dynamic then the places around it. read more

Yum! Fun place to take the family and friends. Gorgeous view that cant be matched! Loved our lobster salad on the mixed greens with the house citrus vinaigrette. The house wines are soooo good too- they really take pride in anything with *common man* in the name. Only down side- the disposal cups, dishes and silverware. I think they can do better and upgrade their plumbing (excuse is the proximity to lake) but I think they should invest a few dollars and be more environmentally considerate. read more

This restaurant has horrible service. I had to wait over 30 minutes for my bill which I asked for twice and ultimately had to go to the front desk and get myself. Our server was far more concerned with the 2 other large tables he had than myself and my husband. Also, the management is horrible, when I went up to pay them instead of walking out on the bill the manger actually asked me what my issue was and when I told him he shrugged his shoulders and said nothing. Let me also mention they allowed a dog in the main dining area which is not allowed but apparently that large table was allowed to do whatever they pleased. Stumbled upon this gem after sitting at the dreaded light in Merideth- not sure how We've passed by this awesome spot without stopping. Great scene, tons of outside self seating, perfect view of the town docks (go figure!) and tiki bar in the sand. Had some steamers and shrimps and a great surf and turf with a crab cake. We went before the busy season, so parking was plentiful. This place is worth visiting, even if you just want a gorgeous view. Fortunately the food was also good. I recommend the Lobster salad, but would have preferred it without the carrot which wasn't necessary and didn't really go with the lobster. BTW, the Lobster was cooked perfectly. My husband had the steamer Clams which he said were extremely good. Service was excellent and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. If you have any room left, I also suggest heading next door for some great ice cream after your meal, then take a pleasant stroll along the lake. read more

Gave 4 stars only because of the long wait for our food. Give 5 stars for the wait staff and the great food and views. Drove up to the area for my birthday (from Boston Suburbs) to get away for the day. I requested a table as far from others as possible due to COVID-19. We were seated at a little corner table quite a distance from others and still I view of the lake. We ordered cocktails and lunch. Other people came after us and were served before us. We called our server over to comment and she apologized and said the cocktails were on the house and also offered us an appetizer on the house (which was delicious). We finally received our food - it was fresh and tender and delicious! As it was my birthday, I also received an ice cream sundae. We commented on how good the potato salad was. When the server brought our bill, she also gave us a take-out container of the potato salad. I totally suggest this restaurant for their high quality food and views. read more

Pros - the lobster roll is loaded, fresh tasting and not overly seasoned. Server was awesome and manager is attentive and cares. Central location and nice view of the lake. Cons - I'm just not a paper plate and paper cup person. It's unappetizing and incredibly wasteful. Other food was okay, Chopped Salad seemed like a "US Foods" or "Cisco" chicken patty. Didn't seem fresh cooked at all. Still, I would recommend the restaurant for a centralized location, nice view and attentive service with good food. read more
