He called to tell me that there's about 40% life and that if it were him he wouldn't change it. You really need an honest mechanic and they are very ethical. Typically a good price for an oil change is $20; however synthetic oil costs more than that, and synthetic oil is what Town Garage uses, so for $33 (2L engine) its an amazing deal, especially for the area. Ive used them 2 times for oil change so far and it has been superb both times, they are a little shop; however they are quick to get the job done, I was in and out with fresh oil within 30 minutes. One of the worst things a mechanic can do is to not let the oil drain completely; this is what places like Jiffy Lube and such tend to do (because they have a huge line and need to go through cars ASAP), this ends up contaminating your new oil as old (dirtiest parts of the old oil that sit at the bottom), mix in with the new oil, and the result is gray/brownish oil right away (dirty). Ive notices that Town Garage guys let the oil drain all the way, the result is that the synthetic blend that they put in is almost as clear as water (with yellowish tint...as it should be). Its hard to find a good place that doesnt cost an arm and a leg, this place has both good prices and good practices. Will definitely be coming back here again! read more

First and foremost, these guys are really honest. Took my girlfriend's car in because we thought she needed new brakes: turns out she didn't. My 2007 Honda Civic vibrates when it's in idle and I thought I needed a new idle control valve or something but turns out I don't, it's just getting older. They could have easily charged me but didn't. When you do need work done they're good at diagnosing the problem too: my air conditioning wasn't very cold and they found the problem and fixed it quickly. Secondly, they don't over charge for parts and labor. In fact, their prices are slightly cheaper than other places. A synthetic blend oil change is $33. If you're more comfortable speaking Korean, come here too because they speak it; can be a little hard to understand the older gentleman who owns the place but his son Eddie doesn't have an accent at all. TLDR: Come here to get work done on your car, or even if you suspect you might have a problem. They're extremely honest and won't rip you off. read more

My friend who's been going to Town Garage for almost 8yrs told me to visit when I needed urgent service (my water pump was broken). I made an appointment right before the day I went for the service and Mr. (Sorry don't really know the name but he's the boss!) pulled over my car with no delay. He was keep making me feel not too worried since I'm just the girl with no single knowledge about the car. Also he told me that my breaks are fine when my dealer told me to replace them asap and charged me with the price I can't afford. Great experience with Town Garage. I called ahead to make sure they had time to fit me in for an oil change and radiator flush. They told me that if I brought it in, they could have it finished by 2pm. Glad I called ahead because they were pretty busy when I got there. What a great auto mechanic shop. Honest, straight shooter. Doesnt try to upsell and will give u their honest opinion on what you need to get fixed. I brought the car on a friday at 8am. Dropped it off and got a call within 3 hrs informing me of everything that needs to be fixed before moving forward. Was able to pick up the car same day. I have been going here for close to 10 years with my Lexus, Honda, Toyota and Acura cars. I first found Town Garage when I had a problem with my trunk latch in my Lexus. The Tustin Toyota dealer told me I needed a new latch and they would charge me $500 for parts and labor. I couldn't afford that so I found a used part and needed someone to install it. I found Town Garage. When I showed Young the owner the problem and asked him to install the part he told me it didn't need a new part. He said the metal ring the latch catches on was moved and that's why it didn't latch. He moved the metal ring and it was fixed. No charge. No I just had a fight with Tustin Lexus to look forward to. I have never taken any of my cars to anyone but Town Garage since that day. I also have referred Town Garage to 5-10 of my friends who also use Town Garage as their main mechanic. read more

This place does charge a ridiculous amount. I went in to get my car checked out for misfire and for running really bad throttle wise. I am a person that will do my own work to my car unless I don't have the appropriate tools for the job. I went in found out it was running on 3 cylinders and the throttle body needed to be reprogramed. I was okay with it, when I asked can he brake out the prices and give me just a price to do the wiring so that all 6 cylinders can run he would not. He tried telling me your car needs to be hooked up to a machine and all this crap about its special for reprograming the throttle body. I told him look I know the procedures for reprograming my car's throttle body I am not stupid I do my research. He then started well we just need to make sure about some other things and blah blah..... At that moment I didn't want to hear it no more and decided never to come back again to this place. I will never recommend this place due to their lack of honesty and price charge. If you are going to charge me up the ass about something be honest and say this is what we are doing and how much it is....the reason why is because we are the best blah blah....no he tries to give me the run around and not sound so confident on how it would be done. read more
