I am always looking for a great go-to brunch place in Jacksonville. Town Hall exceeded all of my expectations with the incredible atmosphere and all of the delicious food and drinks. I decided to get the bottomless grapefruit mimosa, the grilled cheese, and a side of brussel sprouts. First, the mimosa was great as any mimosa is, but I LOVED how I never had to ask the waitress to refill my glass. Second, the grilled cheese was absolutely fantastic, and would probably be a great hangover cure. Lastly, the brussel sprouts - these were absolutely incredible. They are sautéed in peppy jelly and have the BEST flavor profile. If you think you don't like brussel sprouts, you should give these a try and your mind will be changed! My friend got the pastrami hash, and boy was it tasty (10/10 would recommend for a post-night our recovery meal). Everything seemed to be the perfect portion size for a brunch. Where you were full enough to not eat again until dinner, but not absolutely STUFFED. read more

Visited Town Hall for a girls brunch, and it was phenomenal. The service was fantastic, and the space was beautifully decorated & comfortable. We started our brunch with their $5 Bellini, which were yummy! For appetizers we tried the truffle fries (meh), and the Brussels sprouts (highly recommend). For our entrees we all got the crab cake Benedict. The crab cake was very fresh and you could tell the ingredients were high quality. Although I would order it again, I can't wait to go back and try a few other items on their menu like the chicken & waffles and salmon toast. read more

From the huge helping of customer service and the aesthetically pleasing atmosphere to each perfectly plated dish - every element was beautifully orchestrated. We didn't lick our plates for fear of judgement, but that didn't stop us from enjoying every bite. Town Hall Jax: you enticed me, enlightened me, and excited me as every flavor danced in my mouth. As always deciding to go to brunch is easy, but deciding where to go is always hard. If you want great food and the best mimosas you must try town hall on Sundays! We had a variety of food (vegan option friendly) but the best treats were the yummy and well measured cranberry mimosas, orange mimosas and the grapefruit mimosas! Overall, this is now one of our favorite places to eat enjoy brunch. It is a bit small, but there is enough room at the bar to enjoy with your special someone or a group of friends. We were really looking forward to Town Hall before coming, having heard the hype. Most everything was fantastic, except for the most important things. We started with the seared octopus appetizer, which was incredible. So tender and well seasoned - hard to do with octopus. It was served with crisped mashed potatoes with sour cream and bacon, which was also great. Unfortunately, they were so wrong together. They just didn't work with each other. For the entrees, I ordered the duck breast with mushroom duxelle, roasted mushrooms, rainbow carrots, and red wine demi. My wife ordered the gnocchi with lobster and brussel sprouts. My sauce, duxelle, mushrooms, potatoes, and duck were all perfect and delicious. However, there are a few cardinal sins in cooking. One of which is serving a duck breast with flabby, flaccid skin layered with unrendered fat. The meat was perfect, but it was under a sheath of chewy, uncrisp duck skin. It was a damn Greek tragedy. Ruined the whole dish, despite what they did right. My wife had a similar issue - everything was great, except her brussel sprouts - save for a small patch of char - were completely raw. If you've ever eaten a raw brussel sprout, you know it'll ruin good lobster. We skipped dessert, even with the overwhelming list of exactly 2 choices. For a $140 dinner, we expected better. read more

What a meal! We ended this complete mess of a year on a high note tonight! Reservations at Prati sold out so we snagged an early seating at Town Hall instead and am I glad we did. The prix fixe menu was outstanding and our server, George, was excellent. It was laid back, delicious, and we were left wanting for nothing (except maybe more room for dessert!) Hubby loved the fried oyster app while my snapper ceviche was simply perfect! Pasta courses were both great - the shrimp were so fresh in hubby's while the oxtail ragu in my gnocchi was divine. Steak and duck mains both very well executed and we were also both happy with dessert - the lavender crème brûlée was well balanced though the top could've been a touch more torched and the flourless chocolate cake was so well complemented by both the cherries and the salted caramel. I really enjoyed Town Hall, the concept of stepping into someone's home to have a meal is great. At the front you have chairs and a couch and yes you can actually sit there and have dinner...then you make your way to a buzzing bar area that looks like you are sitting at someone's kitchen island with cabinets of wine and drawers of flatware. This evening I was dining with a friend and we had Octopus, Roasted Chicken, Lamp Chops and Apple Pie for dessert topped with vanilla bean ice cream and sea salt caramel glaze. I wasn't that impressed with the dessert as it was to dense for me but it had nice flavours. Also I kinda wished they had more than beer and wine but there are plenty of places to get spirits but not many places that provide with such a lovely meal that you will want to come back again and again and Town Hall delivers that wanna come back feel. read more

We were on our weekly date night the week before Christmas and chose to dine at Town Hall for the first time. It's been on my list of places I've wanted to eat for a while now, but had not made it over until this night. I love the vibe at Town Hall. Trendy, but not pretentious. Clearly upscale, but not overly fancy. The wait staff was fantastic and it was clearly very important to all that we had the best time possible. We ordered drinks. I got my goto, "dirty martini with Ketel One". Perfectly made. Always a good start when they nail your drink of choice. We chose not to order appetizers and instead order some of the delicious sounding side items. I ordered the strip and my wife ordered the Scallops. Both were cooked to perfection. The sear on the scallops was on point... as good as I do them at home. But... I have to say the real surprise of the night, and I ordered just out of pure curiosity, was the crispy Brussels sprouts with pepper jelly. I couldn't imagine that combo in my head, but I was intrigued. It was SO GOOD! So good, in fact, that it made it onto my Christmas dinner menu. Mine didn't turn out quite as crispy as the ones at Town Hall, but just like at Town Hall, it was the surprise hit at our Christmas Dinner. We will certainly be back. There are many other things on the menu that we are eager to try. We will also add Town Hall to our faves for just a place to stop for drinks (and maybe apps). read more

Came here on a trip with my family while I was out on business. Establishment is decorated wonderfully, minimally, but in just such a cozy and inviting way, that you almost think like you're going over to your friend's house for dinner. The service is absolutely wonderful and kind, with a nice little happy hour meeting you to boot. I had the pork cheek dinner myself, which was savory slightly sweet and absolutely scrumptious. And absolute recommendation from this humble reviewer. my cousin had the cauliflower steak which if you don't know what it is you definitely need to try it, I don't know how they made it but they seem to enter twine so many wonderful flavors within one simple dish, that if I'm in the area the next time, it will be something I get to go. read more

I went here in June for an early dinner and honestly I was let down. This restaurant is owned by the same folks who own Moxie/Prati so I was expecting great thing since I had a great experience last time I went to Prati. I called ahead to make a reservation since groups of 4+ cannot be accommodated online. I had to call several days in a row because no one answered the phone despite them being open. We split the smoked fish dip, sweet pea hummus dip, and seared octopus as appetizers. The smoked fish dip was the best of the three. I found the sweet pea hummus to be flavorless. The seared octopus was good but not worth getting for the price/size portion. As my main I had the fresh catch. Catch of the day when I was there was wahoo. 3 of the 6 people I was with also ordered the fresh catch and we're equally as disappointed. The portion of fish was small and completely overcooked. It was dry and lacked any kind of flavor. The best part of the meal was hands down was the sea salt caramel gelato. If I go back to townhall again- this will be why. It was delicious- smooth and the perfect blend of salt and caramel. I was most impressed by the chunks of caramel filled chocolates contained within. read more

Hands down a hidden gem in San Marco area. So glad I brought visitors from out of town. We ordered a lot of apps and a main to share because there were so many starters we wanted to try out. Fully deserving of five stars. Went for an early dinner on Sunday and found it to be not too busy. Not sure if this is the case other days of the week but it was good because we had our choice of seating and it was nice and quiet. Decided on sitting close to the kitchen on the inside and the overall decor and atmosphere was tasteful and inviting. The people working there also provided friendly, attentive service. Now the food. Drumrolls. Every choice of food was unique and worth the bite. Duck fat cornbread was absolutely appetizing but the bread seemed a little over soaked with liquid/juice from the fat. Crispy Brussels sprouts was delicious. Fettuccine wasn't too salty or had too much tomato which is perfect and the way it's supposed to be made. Sweet pea hummus seemed a bit too healthy tasting for me (and I make myself green smoothies every few days), but my recommendation is start with this appetizer first so the other flavors are not overpowering it. The grilled cheese sandwich can also be a meal itself in terms of the good portion size. Can't wait for my next visit and will definitely try out more entrees and dessert! read more

My family's experience here was absolutely perfect from the start. The hostess was so kind to us when we initially put our names in. Then our waitress (I'm kicking myself for not asking her name!) was not only SO professional, but so nice and made our experience fun. It's rare when your water is always filled and ours was always filled!! And I drank a lot of water that night. I ordered the local fish entrée which was Cobia, absolutely amazing. Loved the exotic carrots on thy dish and I didn't have to season a thing (which is saying something because normally I dump salt on everything). I also had a bite of the brussel sprouts on my boyfriends plate (he ordered the duck entrée, another winning dish) and those were the best brussel sprouts I have ever had. Town Hall is always a favorite! Met a girl friend for happy hour on a Monday & enjoyed the half-priced bottles of wine. I really enjoyed the Cab Franc Fulkerson. We had the cured & aged board for two with Sweet Grass Dairy cheddar & soppressata. The board comes with honey, jam, stone ground mustard & nuts, all a great addition to the board. Fabulous date night spot. I know a place is good when my husband is talking about it two days later. We dined at the high tops in the bar and it was such a cozy vibe. Wasn't in a cocktail mood but they had a great selection to choose from. We started out with the grilled cheese sandwich appetizer with fontina cheese and prosciutto on grilled sourdough. It was was ok but a bit dry for me and had me wishing I would have ordered the duck fat cornbread instead. My salmon on the other hand was delectable. Perfectly seared with a soy glaze served with broccoli rabe and whipped potatoes with horseradish sauce. Have to say one of my top three salmon dishes ever!!! My girlfriends and I went to Town Hall last night for a girls night. I absolutely love the ambiance of the restaurant. There were so many couples on dates and even double dates! Very intimate and romantic location in the heart of the San Marco square. We made a reservation ahead of time and were even sat early. What I appreciate about this was they actually put a "Reserved" sign on the table unlike most places that just hope and will try to have a table ready for you. The staff were really friendly and seemed to work really well together. We were a little smushed in the back with one table having chairs in an awkward configuration. We shared their charcuterie platter, which was amazing. Make sure you look at the picture! I only with they had more options so we could have customized it more. We also shared the loaded Town Hall fries that had goat cheese, balsamic, cured duck yolk and herbs. Also very good but think it could have had more balsamic. Overall super cute place. In my opinion this place is mediocre at best. I did not enjoy my pasta dish at all. I thought it was very bland. I barely ate any of it. I think the restaurant should have taken it off the bill. They didn't. My son hated his steak and even though it was small- didn't finish it. The side of grits was in my opinion terrible. Really a 3.75 for brunch. Everything was good, but our main dishes needed a few tweaks. On the steak and eggs, the scrambled eggs were seriously bland, and the hollandaise tasted like straight butter - but the steak itself and the fries were amazing. On the pastrami hash, the pastrami was in slices like pork belly, and half of them were super fatty while the other half was more like burnt ends - if the pieces had been mixed in (like in a normal hash), it would have balanced. ER.MAH.GERD. This was the second stop in what turned out to be an epic, fun, hilarious night of Yelp Restaurant Week fun. We arrived and met up with folks that were already there..we soon became a rambunctious grouping of seven that took over the cozy and adorable living room lounge in the front of the restaurant. The wooden table, the couch and chairs, the adorable decorative dog that John made friends with..it was all really amazing. We had Corey helping us with drinks and snacks in no time and we went ALL IN..I personally had the drinks called Bin No 6 and the House Shandy... both were well mixed and tasty, the Shandy being the winner for me. There were some wines and some champagne and some other cocktails at the table and also a beer or two, everyone was very pleased. We were given the option of moving to a table in the back for our actual eating, and decided to go ahead and stay in the living room. We had already moved on in..even (possibly, maybe) running off a couple that was sitting there when we arrived..(y'all remember Kevin and Carol?) As the food started arriving, we were all a flurry of phones being pulled out to take pics of the master pieces that were placed in front of us. We also were not shy about grabbing forks and digging in once it was confirmed that all pics had been captured..There was a cheese and meat assortment, and a fish dish that i did not get around to trying ..however..there was duck fat cornbread that I was absolutely in love with..the flavor and texture is almost obscene it is that good..it comes with a slaw that has a bite to it that off sets the corn bread in the best way. Also sampled and loved was the hand cut pappardelle with duck leg, mushrooms, onions and cheese over top..the noodles were cooked exactly the way they should be with the sauce and duck standing on their own as wonderful flavors that made me think of something you would want on a cold night. Lastly i tried the bread pudding, and in an interesting twist, it had pepper jelly..very different, and oh so delish!! There was an order of pound cake, but again i just wasn't in the mood for sweet..We lingered at the table, all telling stories, and drinking our beverages. Our whole group was treated wonderfully and we had Corey sit with us and chat on a few occasions while checking if we needed anything else, and a warm send off as we were all filing out the door.. This a nice, upscale restaurant in Jacksonville. Great addition to the restaurant scene. Bar- There isn't a full bar (no liquor) , but they make fantastic wine cocktails and have a decent wine/beer selection. They have a good appetizers. We enjoyed the ricotta and mussels (without a shell). The hummus was good, but I would not order it again. It is deceiving that they note that they serve lavash with your dips. Lavash is a soft bread (similar to pita). The dip is served with a thin/dried lavash aka crackers. It's not bad, but it is not lavash. The mains are all delicious. I don't think you can go wrong - just chose what you are craving (I.e fish, meat, chicken, etc.). The menu has a non-overwhelming amount of options Brunch- the brunch was AMAZING! The food was delicious, the service was great and there were bottomless mimosas (orange, grapefruit or cranberry) . What else do you want?!? Made reservations for my boyfriends birthday here. The place was super cool inside sort of industrial like. The server was really nice and helpful with the menu. We got a cheese platter for two to start which was great only thing I wish is there was more so maybe get the 4 not the pair. We both got the salmon it was really good and I like their portions. All very small yet filling. Wish we stayed for dessert but we were full! I do think next time I'd like to sit in the bar it seemed a bit more cozy. read more

I don't know if I just have bad luck here or what, but I think I'm done trying. This was for takeout, but I ate in previously and didn't enjoy it then either. Got the half roasted chicken and the duck. Complete waste of $55. The Brussels Sprouts were overcooked, polenta wasn't bad, wasn't great but wasn't horrible. There was barely any duck, it was dry with inedible skin due to toughness. My brother didn't finish his roasted chicken, but it wasn't as bad as the duck. One good thing I can say is that I always had good service here, but I can't give it more then one star. I don't mind paying premium prices for small portions and good food, but this was horrible. read more
