After being on quarantine for so long it was nice to get out and have some drinks at this spot. The outdoor space was very spacious and allowed for social distancing. I had some of the cocktails for happy hour which were okay, nothing special. The highlight of my happy hour was the cauliflower Mac & Cheese which was amazing! I really enjoyed it as a "healthy alternative" . For the most part the waitresses were very attentive and friendly. I would def like to see what the place is like post COVID. read more

We came as a group and few people satisfied with the food. The quality is similar to college dorm, someone said it was worse. Service was good, drink was ok, food I recommend you do not even try it. Location: Perfect location. Right in the heart of center city with a lot in the area. Restaurant: the looks and vibe are awesome. Very rustic with the ideal sports bar. The outside seats are also awesome to allow you to be outside but watch the TVs. I do highly suggest sitting at the high top seats to be part of the vibe. Service: Very good. They went above and beyond to make our experience memorable. Food: Mac N cheese was amazing! The pulled pork was good but nothing to run back for. My friends got the ribs, brisket, and steak and they all raved that they were really good. My husband got the sausage and lamb shoulder and said he would definitely get it again. Saw the article about this place opening and thought it was a great concept close to World of Beer but with food. Went on a Saturday night, place did not seem full but there was a 30 minute wait for a table and the tables next to the bar had reservations signs on them. My party agreed to wait and ended up waiting 90 minutes for what seemed to be lack of front house experience. I spoke with the hostess and she was really sweet but explained they were seating on rotation (duh) and that they didn't want to overwhelm the servers (????). As a former server and hostess I was flabbergasted that they didn't see the money that was walking right out the front door. We were not the only party waiting to be seated and getting frustrated with the slothlike process. When they finally had a table ready (it had been sitting open) it was in the extremely loud and busy area, I got us a table in the back since it didn't make sense to have to scream at my dinner companions. Once seated the waitress was there promptly and since we had 90 minutes to figure out what we wanted our order was placed right then. Food came out maybe 15 minutes later which is nice but doesn't explain the slow seating. We got the 3 meat combo. The brisket was dry but the fat on the edges was flavorful, however you had to cut it with a knife. The smoked sausage had no flavor - I've had better Johnsonville smoked sausage. The lamb shoulder was tender and was everything the brisket should have been. Regarding the sauces the Carolina Gold and Spicy were great the others were meh. Brisket beans - meh Mac and Cheese - I've had better Coleslaw - was fresh, underwhelming and no true flavor profile. We each did a flight of beer and there were no complaints. Overall I wouldn't waste my time going there for food. If you want beer, whiskey and country music (legit 4+ Carrie Underwoods songs while we were there) then this is your place. If you want bbq - I recommend going to your nearest grocery store to the frozen section. read more

visited here with my family after spending time at the Christmas village. had reservations for 7. were seated next to a large party. unfortunately, they had way more than their table could fit. they were hanging over our table and yelling at each other. I asked them to please respect us and go back over to their table. after being ignored, I went and spoke with the manager whose name was Mike. at first he told me it was a bar and noise was to be expected. I said that I understood that but if people wanted to hang then they should then go hang by the bar and not by the reserved table. So, if your looking for a bar maybe this is your kind of place but if your looking to have a meal albeit. in a bar like atmosphere then this is not the place. read more

Just had a meal with friends at Tradesman. For the money Mission BBQ is way better. That said the food was ok. However the bathrooms both upstairs and down smelled heavily of urine. They are unisex but given there weren't more than 30 eating there, it should not have been an issue with keeping them clean. If they aren't cleaning the bathroom what else isn't getting cleaned. I did inform the bartender who was just standing there and he didnt even offer an apology just said ok. There are way better options to eat in the city so don't waste your money here read more

First day on the job for our waitress, she had no clue what she was doing, no one was overseeing what she was doing. We were a party of 6 and she gave us 3 sets of utensils and 3 glasses of water. She stated she had to go hunt down more forks and knives because they were out. The chicken and ribs were burnt. I would recommend the restaurant to fully train their staff before letting them out waiting on customers on their own. Management/owner really needs to get on top of it, how do you run out of utensils? I would def not recommend this place if ur planning to have an enjoyable dinner. read more

Tradesman's is one of my go-to's for drinks with friends, but I do not recommend for food. I recently got the chicken and it was very dry. I did enjoy the nachos and friendly staff along with a great draft beer list. read more

I've been excited to try this place since we got into town, spent 60$ on a to go plate for myself. The staff was really nice, Unfortunately the main course was a major let down. The brisket was so dry it was hard to chew, no flavor at all, the shrimp was plain/cold and our fries were mushy and congealed together. WHOA, shocked to come here to see only 3 stars. I had a 5 star experience. The food is plentiful- the 2 meat platter can feed well over 3 people. The sides are large. I have never felt more welcomed by an employee. Manny is hands down the best bouncer I've ever come across. Not only does he make sure conflict doesn't turn into anything serious, he truly makes sure you are comfortable in the bar environment. He came over to check on us multiple times and made sure we were okay and that men didn't make us uncomfortable. I can't say enough good things about him. The bar is filled with youth after 9 which is okay and they play okay music but what will keeps me coming back is the devotion to the customers that manny had. read more

Awful service. We called to see if it was oky for 3 people to walk in, they said no. We checked open table and saw reservations available. So it started off bad already. We went to go see the Sixers as no other places were available to sit us. We go in and there is no silverware or water given to us until we asked 20 min after we sat. We kept having to ask where our waiter was... eventually we got our food and it was awful. The fries were soggy and cold. The burgers were drenched in oil and some weird sauce. Made a reservation tonight (an Eagles game night) for 2 of us. We walk in, and as soon as I tell them my name, the hostesses completely unapologetically tell us that they do not have a table for us, because they are overbooked, as they're not supposed to make reservations for game nights, and there's several parties waiting ahead of us. As a hostess of several years, this is complete bullshit. If you're overbooked, call your customers and tell them. Or make it work. Wow. Bar none, the worst meal I've had in Philly. They sell themselves as a BBQ joint so I ordered the brisket. Fairly certain this piece of meat never saw a smoker...no flavor. The fat was still white...looked not rendered. Nachos had a couple of pumps from a ball park nacho cheese dispenser. Brussels sprouts were so drowned in BBQ sauce, they just tasted like sauce. On a positive note, fries were great and Mac and cheese were pretty good. Service was friendly although food and drinks took a long time to arrive - I assume that wasn't her fault. Make sure to check your credit card statement after going to this place, and keep any receipts you get. My credit card was charged $130 for 2 beers that I purchased on 1/12. I called the bar on 1/18 later once I checked my credit card statement and noticed the error. They never returned my call, so I called again later that day. I spoke to a manager and was able to resolve the issue, he said he would pass along the issue to the accounting department and it would be resolved in a few business days. On 1/30, 12 days later, I was still not refunded. I called the restaurant and was told a manager would call back shortly. No one did, so I called again on 1/31. I talked to a manager of a different bar and he was able to pass along the information to the accountant, who then reached out. I was finally refunded on 2/6. Everyone I spoke to seemed friendly, but not concerned that a bartender tipped himself $100+. Also, the issue was never communicated to the proper people in the first place which caused an additional delay. I will probably be back to the bar since my friends are obsessed with this place for some reason, but I will never use a credit card there again. read more

Paid $80+ for NYE and it was a complete disaster. Had to wait 45 minutes just to get any drinks which defeats the purpose of an open bar. They totally oversold the event as people were bumping in to each other all night. No idea how you sell that many tickets but only have one bar with like two bartenders. And not that it even mattered at that point but nobody got that promised champagne toast at midnight. I won't even get into having to wait a half hour for the bathroom. Just a total trash event and turns me off from ever returning to Trademan's again for anything. At least the bartenders were friendly. read more

Went to Trademan's for a holiday dinner with a few friends. Usually enjoy my time here but tonight I did not at all. I tried to use the upstairs bathroom as I have none many many times in the past because there was someone in the main floor bathroom. The upstairs was empty but as I was walking up the stairs I saw an employee notice me but not say anything. I kept approaching the bathroom and he was just staring at me eating so asked if I could use the bathroom as I walked past. He literally laughed at me and said no so I thought it was a joke because he didn't say anything as I was passing him and kept walking and he was like NO you literally cannot use this bathroom in an angry, rude tone. I then turned around and said oh sorry and turned around and walked down the stairs as another employee was walking up and I heard the original employee laughing with the other employee clearly at me. Honestly all around weird and uncomfortable and would not recommend this place if you're expecting friendly employees. read more

This place is insanely slow in service. Was there for their Nye party and the food was cheap chicken fingers, fries, and Mac and cheese. The open bar was also horrible because they only had one e bartender on the first floor and one on the second floor. This limited the drinks a lot and it was like an hour between drinks. So the five hour open bar resulted in only 4 drinks total. They also lost our ID and credit card as well. So overall, horrible experience from beginning to end. Management and waiters were also rude and spend more time running away from us than serving us. read more

Called the manager to have this handled and was refunded the difference in tip, after 2-3 weeks. Great meats, excellent drinks, and very friendly staff. I'm still dreaming of the pork belly. I had my bday here on a Friday night 7pm and it was fun as hell. We tried and loved the following :brisket, pork belly, pulled pork, Mac n cheese collared greens , and many many whiskey drinks. Our server (John) was friendly, down to earth, and really took great care of us . My first experience at Tradesman's was awesome but the second go around left me feeling meh. There is nothing like someone paying for your drinks and then getting charged the drinks that were purchased by someone else. When I brought it to the attention of the bartender, instead of offering to fix it he tried to get my friend and I to buy more drinks so he wouldn't have to fix it. Ummm sir... we are closing out the tab because we want to go home. The manager did fix the issue but it is an issue that shouldn't have happened in the first place. The bar itself is great (very small and crowded BUT fun) but the manager, Alexis (blonde - small girl, with a giant attitude) ruins the entire experience. She is SO rude it's insane.
