Came here with a friend on a Sunday early evening after hiking in Henry Coe. I ordered the tri tip sandwich with beans as a side and my friend got burnt ends with Mac and cheese and potato salad. Our food came out quickly. There were plenty of tables for indoor or outdoor seating. I'm glad that my sandwich didn't come with BBQ sauce on it and I was able to add it myself. Food was salty, but tasty. We were both hungry and ate most of our food. If we are in the area again and in the mood for BBQ, we might come back!

Used yelp to find this place doesn't disappoint. The little spot hard to find parking free parking next door in the structure. Bbq chicken they use a rub the smoke is not to strong flavor a bbq flavor not overdone you can taste the chicken and it was tender. Tri-tip. Yummy seasons just right again the smoke is not over powering or salty tender more like a light medium pink with no blood the flavor is just right you can still taste the flavor of the meat. Bbq beans must try potato salad was in the sweet side with a touch of bbq sauce different flavor all together. Corn bread or garlic toast both equally tasty. Seating inside and out order your food then have a seat. Service was very helpful and patient for the first timers giving some great suggestions but of course I am sure all the food is delicious. Don't forget to take a walk after your meal cute little town

I have always enjoyed trail dust, the pulled pork sandwich is my go to but everything I've had is good. It is a place my entire family enjoys. It's a fun place to dine in, the decor goes with the theme. Or it's easy enough to call ahead and pick it up to dine at home. I've always had friendly service.

We were in Gilroy then stopped by Little Bean's Cat Cafe before fueling our body. We were hungry and was a tad bummed we were told the wait would be 25 min. due to folks ordering over the phone or via delivery third party apps for the football game. Service was excellent. Ronnie ordered ribs, mac and cheese, and a baked potato w/o the chives. I ordered their special (turkey sandwich w/ garlic aioli. We also ordered 2 fountain drinks. The wait was barely 15 min. The mac and cheese was creamy and saucy. I tried Ronnie's massive baked potato; 'twas very good.. soft, but not overcooked/mushy. My sandwich (though I only ate half and brought the other half home) was succulent. I loved the pickled red onions. A very satisfying meal after a week of consistent workouts and diet. Loved the decor. They have outdoor seating as well.

Mmmmm... BBQ Great serving size, tasty food... best BBQ in Morgan Hill! Service was fast and efficient, made excellent suggestions. The place is super clean with a little 'Ol' Western' look and feel. Lots of seating and right behind a huge parking garage. Just go already!

If you're craving good bbq, definitely check this place out! I always get their brisket and steak and it's always tender. My favorite side of theirs is the corn bread and it pairs very well with their meats. Service was fairly quick and there's lots of seating indoors and outdoors. They have parking out in the back but there's also a free public garage nearby.

Pleasant surprise with Trail Dust bbq! I don't eat a ton of bbq but my partner is pretty particular so decided to take him here to try on our way to Spina Farms. Came for lunch and there wasn't a wait. I got a kids meal because bbq is usually heavy for me and my partner got a brisket sandwich. The bread is delicious, the corn bread included, and the meat was super tender! Sides are yummy too and they have beef ribs right now as a special! Will be back to try the other items! Kids meal size is perfect if you want a light snack.

My husband and I stopped by this spot after visiting a nearby pumpkin patch and we were starving. This place hit the spot. My husband both decided to get platters. I got the brisket with slaw and potato salad. The brisket is everything I wanted it to be. It was tender, flavorful, and delicious. The potato salad was pretty good with the right amount of acidity and tanginess; same with the slaw. The restaurant is very cute. The decor is something I would find in an old saloon. Service was good, nothing extraordinary. People taking our order were fine. Food was delivered to our table after 10 minutes.

Tritip was fairly juicy and flavorful. I liked the macaroni and cheese which tasted more like an Alfredo sauce than the more common orange cheese macaroni. Coleslaw was basic cabbage but pretty good. Order at the counter, with friendly servers.

Got the Santa Marie or Maria I think tri tip salad.... Loved all the greens! But I wasn't super into the meat, I would've preferred to switch out for brisket to be honest. It's a self serve at the counter situation (not buffet). The gal still walked around and made sure we were doing ok which was nice. Inside was kind of small but the outside area was pretty big down the side. Perfect BBQ for meet ups or parties with the space. I'll need to come back for more brisket too because it was pretty good last time I came.

Arrived at 7:30pm on a Monday ... Small and quaint place(One divided room (14 Tables) & small bar (5-seat). + Portions were good and a cool micro/craft beer selection. + Personnel (3 young ladies) nice / polite. + Meets expectations for a little BBQ joint. - Took over 4 minutes to even be recognized at the door where it is noted to "wait to be seated". - Upon finally being seated was informed they were out of brisket, ribs, and cornbread ...???... really! on a Monday with a 1/2 empty restaurant; wow! - Had the 12-14oz Steak (ribeye?) ... came with a dinner salad and baked potato, and port reduced mushrooms. (a) while cooked to correct temperature, the steak was under seasoned and overpowered the port reduced mushrooms. (b) at best a $25 restaurant piece of meat, NOT the $36 charged - Found it very tacky that the condiments (salad dressing, sour cream, chives) came in little plastic cups. Would/Will give them a second chance when in the area to try the BBQ. read more

Delicious BBQ! But I can't possibly be the only one who noticed that the side dishes are all bad, can I!? Because if I were rating it just on the sides...yeikes!! They suck, are worse than tasteless. They are void of flavor and how can you mess up bbq beans? But hey the meat is good, don't waste your money with the rest. So I give the meats and ribs and stuff like 5 stars and the sides a 1 star. read more

This place is a go too place when I am near Morgan Hill. They have it all good food, good beer, good music. The tri tip salad was probably one of the best things I have ever eaten. paired with a nice beer and cornbread it made for a fantastic meal. read more

Comfortable & friendly atmosphere, good selection of meats & sides. Very tender ribs were cooked to perfection, however their BBQ sauce is a little on the sweet side. Donna was very helpful and extremely knowledgeable about the menu - Great selection of local craft beers on tap. read more

I've lost count how many times I've been to Trail Dust and every time the food is delicious!!! Pulled pork, hot links, ribs, beer choices for everyone, etc. including the cold slaw. Anyone who can make that taste good gets thumbs up from me. The staff is always nice and accommodating. There's indoor and outdoor seating. A must stop for Morgan Hill. read more

We arrived on Sunday evening and were seated quickly. They are not a large restaurant so our party of 6 took 2 tables. Unfortunately, they were out of ribs! But they had everything else on the menu. Hubs and I ordered 2-meat combos. I had the Brisket and pulled pork. The pork was juicy and the mop sauce that came on the side cut through the rich fattiness without being too overpoweringly acidic. My brisket was a little dry, but Hubs said his was nice and juicy. My daughter and her friend shared the 14-16oz ribeye. While the steak was cooked perfectly, the marinated mushroom topper was cloyingly sweet. I just wished there were more veggie options. Everyone loved the cornbread! It was hot, fluffy, corny. The butter and honey was an added bonus. There is quite a selection of beers to choose from. Must return to taste test and try the ribs. The dessert options were tempting too, but I overindulged with the cornbread! read more

Had dinner here for the first time tonight. Jonny greeted us and told us we could sit anywhere. We asked him for some food recommendations, he said he loves the tri-tip and ribs. So thats what we ordered. :) Britney was our server. Her and both Jonny provided great customer service and super friendly. They answered all our menu questions. We also got some cornbread and a side of beans. Britney was awesome and able to split our tri-tip salad onto two plates. We saved room for dessert and ordered their berry cobbler. Omg...delish!! Cant wait to go back and try more menu items. Food was fantastic! read more

We really Wanted to really love this place. It fell a little short for us. The Brisket was good, but a little too pink for me. Coleslaw didn't have much flavoring. Definitely missing something. The chicken sandwich was tasty. We were surprised to receive chili and not baked beans, a usual bbq staple. The bbq sauce was a bit too tomato-y for us. Wished it was more smoky. My BFF and I were in Tucson for our annual trip, and we were looking for something to get delivered. This place was AWESOME! We got the coleslaw (best we have ever had), ribs, and the mixed veggies. Business lunch today. The woman working a few weeks ago was a very hard worker. 1 person show and she did an excellent job during a very busy lunch hour by herself. Brisket was good, not great. Slaw and Mac n Cheese were also fine. Cold and crisp slaw, and warm M&C, but both just kinda bland. They''re working hard to produce a good product. Great staff. read more

Their priority is Take out only. We waited for 56 minutes to find out that still the food would take long!! But the take out customers were still getting their food on time. Can't say anything about the food because we never got it. Just ended up paying for our beers and left. read more

Pork ribs - good. Tri tip - ok. BBQ beans - underseasoned. Potato salad - pink colored and bland. Garlic bread - smelled and looked like its namesake but flavorless. Cornbread - completely and utterly burnt on the bottom and inedible. MH, we love you but will not be returning. read more

I've been to this spot a few times before, and during COVID, the quality has remained top-notch and delicious. The staff was super friendly, and the manager, Mark, made sure to check up on us to make sure that everything came out to our liking. Definitely pay them a visit - absolutely worth it! read more

I have been a customer for over 5 years and as a vegan (not), this place has some tasty tasty food! It's all about the squealin' pork butt sandwich, their huge ass steak and that berry cobbler. Lawd! The berry cobbler; so good. When it comes to service, I've had many experiences with the staff and by far, Jacquie is my favorite. If I see her when I walk in, I ask to be put in her section because she will take care of me and my friends. Even when they're crazy busy, she frequently checks on us, ensures our drinks our filled and sees if we need anything, promptly bringing it. If you're thinking about going here, go. The food is hella yums and Jacquie is the bomb dot com. read more

I've never actually been here, but have had their takeout several times which my hubs and his bff have been kind enough to bring home for me. I don't actually eat meat so I have no real sense of how their BBQ is, but the garlic bread is delicious. I have had some bites of the hotlink sandwich which I think is on the garlic bread (brilliant!), and is good enough to warrant a bite or two from my pescatarian self any time someone orders it. The potato salad is hands down the best potato salad I've ever had. It's well seasoned and has eggs in it, which I love. I'm leaving this review pretty much just because of that salad. My husband and his bff love the BBQ though, so I take their word for it. It always smells delicious! read more

We hired Trail Dust to cater my mother's recent 90th birthday party for 75 people at Morgan Hill Cellars. Catering manager James Arnerich was perfect in his quick response to queries. Alfredo and Brianna came out to do the setup and serving. They were right on time and did a fantastic job. The food was terrific and we got lots of compliments from our guests. We've enjoyed eating at the restaurant since we moved here 6 years ago and will continue to recommend both restaurant and catering service. Thank you, Trail Dust crew! read more

Tonight I had a Chalula Chicken sandwich on their delicious Souedough. The bread is crispy and soft and delicious. The chicken had the perfect balance of spicy sauce and chicken chunks... it was fabulous. I split my sandwich with some people in my family and afterward realized that if I had kept it for myself I would have eaten the entire thing in a blink of an eye. It was different than any sandwich I've had and by far, the best!!! The service is amazing at this place. They all greet you when you walk in and they treat you like family. I'm thankful the ambiance in the restaurant is cafe seating and is perfect for coming in dressed as you are for a nice lunch or early dinner with friends and family. This place feels like family and I love that the best. If you haven't tried this place...you should. It will be your new go to!

I ordered an A-Jay classic cheese steak and garlic fries. Everything was quite tasty. The cheese steak had quality meat and fresh soft bread. The cherry peppers went well with every bite. Garlic fries were crispy and flavorful. Overall I enjoyed my experience at A-Jay's Cheese Steaks. The staff were nice and accommodating. The atmosphere was family friendly and welcoming. My only gripe is since the price point is high I suggest combo options with small sides available for better value. It's been a while since the last time I was here. Not sure when I'll be back but at least I satisfied my recent craving.

That being said it seems like one of the few places to get banh mi in Morgan hill, I do feel that they should not be charging such premium price for their sandwiches. If it was cheaper then I wouldn't be so harsh as "you get what you pay for". Not the case here

The outdoor seating was especially comfortable thanks to the misting fans, which made a warm day much more enjoyable. We also dined indoors, and this was probably the biggest area for improvement. It became quite warm and stuffy inside, and there seemed to be some disagreement between guests about whether the doors should stay open or closed. On hot days, I think keeping at least one door open or improving the air conditioning would make a big difference in guest comfort. The food was excellent. We ordered the mushroom soup, tuna tartare, macaroni and cheese, drinks, and dessert, and everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The service, however, was inconsistent. Our first server rarely checked on us, and another waitress eventually stepped in and was somewhat more attentive. Even then, the service felt disorganized. No one checked back to see how our food was or whether we needed anything, despite there being plenty of staff on the floor. The team seemed overwhelmed and scattered rather than working together efficiently. The biggest disappointment was dessert. We had already paid our bill, yet it took at least 15 minutes to arrive. We eventually had to flag down a busser to check on it. It felt like once the check was paid, our table was forgotten. Overall, Mohi Farm has a fantastic atmosphere and truly delicious food, which is why I would absolutely come back. With better coordination among the service staff and improved indoor climate control during warmer weather, the experience could easily be a five-star one.

Another sign states that Betsy's has been serving this community since 1981. I was greeted immediately upon entering and advised to "just sit anywhere." I grabbed the first booth I encountered and was brought water and menu right away. The waitress took my order of a bacon cheeseburger and onion rings ($16.50). A few minutes later the onion rings of my dreams (super crispy on the outside and a real onion rings inside with enough crunch left that you can bite through without dragging a soggy onion out of its outer shell, so each mouthful is both onion and crunchy coating) arrived and a sandwich with crispy (not soggy, underdone) bacon, hefty burger patty (done just how I like them with carmelized edges and perfectly done thick center) with cheese, pickles, red onions, lettuce and mayo. I asked them to leave off the tomato due to my food allergies. The bun was soft but held up well to the heft of the sandwich. The decor was classic 60's style diner. While the seats were well padded and the covering looked practically new, some of the tables showed the wear of the years on the corners. There is also a short lunch counter next to the kitchen. What really caught my attention is the staff seemed to know most of the guests and greeted them by name as they came and went and inquired into different aspects of their lives. This personal touch reflects what seems to be a long-time relationship with dedicated customers. Parking is close to the door. This place was a little hard for me to find as it is behind the bowling alley at Tennant Station Shopping center, but was well worth the effort to locate and enjoy. Went in last week because of the reviews.... and I left dissatisfied. First the ribs are the only thing that was good. I give that, however be careful when eating them they had tons of small little bones. You can choke or break a dang tooth! Next the other meats Tri tip and brisket where lacking flavor unfortunately... the Tri tip was also too dry for me. The bbq sauces given were also not good, mine tasted Burnt. The sides are for sure a huge skip! Don't order any. Maybe the Mac and cheese but the potato salad and the coleslaw and beans were really bad, in taste. Lacked flavor and the potato salad tasted too bitter and harsh..it was weirdly made that's for sure! The chicken was a pass too, not worth ordering. Nothing special. The other item that we were left with a stomach ache and diarrhea (tmi lol) were the hot links. For the price of 5$ each link! Definitely not worth buying. Your wayyy better off buying a pack of hot links from Safeway. Or buy the Evergood brand at Safeway they taste way better than the ones here. For the price of the items...it sure doesn't match with the food. Very pricey for the same portions given. I support businesses but when it come to also spending my hard earned money, and then when it's alot of money, I am expecting to get what I paid for. My husband and I are fairly new to Morgan Hill and got to get out and check the local eateries this last weekend. This place had good reviews and we were in the mood for BBQ Saturday afternoon. Sorry to say for us, it did not live up to the hype. When we came in the place wasn't overly busy, but it took a few minutes for anyone to acknowledge us. We waited at the door for a minute or so, then when the kids at the bar were chatting away and didn't look our way we walked up to the bar to get attention. The three staff standing there still took another couple of minutes until one of them finally greeted us. As far as the food, it was decent, but nothing spectacular over the chain type places (Famous Daves, Dickeys). My husband's tri-tip was overly dry and my chicken was a bit bland. Nothing terrible, but not that great either, especially when the customer service was lacking. They do have a decent craft beer selection, which my husband enjoyed. If you are walking around Morgan Hill's cute downtown area and in the mood for some BBQ, this is pretty much your only choice and serviceable. But don't go out of your way to come here as it is nothing spectacular, and subpar service only detracts from the experience. read more

Street parking can be a challenge, but I parked in a lot next door- not sure if it belongs to that business or the one next door, but I didn't have a problem... cross fingers! The restaurant was about half full for lunch. I gather from eavesdropping that they used to have limited hours, but they are not open 7 days a week, great! I had the pulled pork sandwich, with coleslaw. The slaw was "ok", not bad, nothing to write home about. I do appreciate that it wasn't too sweet, so that's a plus. The pulled pork was moist, smoky and held its own. I tried it first plain, and the flavor was just right. The sauce that cam with the sandwich was excellent- not a tomato based but rather a sweet vinegar that cut through the smoke nicely... a double-plus. I had the garlic roll, which added a nice touch of flavor but not sure that I'd have it again- just a question of going back to work and being socially acceptable :) For now, we have a solid 4.5 stars. My son's soccer team visited Morgan Hill from up the peninsula for a soccer tournament two weeks ago. One of the mothers offered to organize a picnic after a game on a Saturday afternoon. She's a phenomenal woman, a senior executive at a big technology company, who also considers herself "a closet Martha Steward." So she called "about fifteen people who would know" about restaurants in Morgan Hill and, on that basis, bought a range of food from Trail Dust and brought it to the soccer field. It was spectacular. I have eaten a lot of BBQ in a lot of cities and states, including the South, and this was as good as any I've ever heard. We ate beef, pork, and chicken as well as several sides, and it was all delicious. The one thing I did not try was the salad because, well, if you're going to ruin your diet. . . I loved the place and will visit it on trips to Monterey and other places south. read more

3.5/5 Trail Dust BBQ has a great vibe and solid barbecue options, but there were a few misses for me. The brisket and ribs were tender and flavorful, and the portions were generous, which I really appreciated. The sides were decent overall, but the mac n' cheese was a big disappointment, it didn't taste like mac n' cheese at all. It was more like pasta with Alfredo sauce, which was not what I expected. Service was friendly and quick, and the atmosphere is fun and laid-back, perfect for a casual meal. Prices are fair for the amount of food you get, so that's a plus. Overall, it's worth checking out for the barbecue, but I'd skip the mac n' cheese next time. read more

Seriously good bbq and seriously courteous staff ... I got the 3 meat combo dinner, side of beans and slaw and a hot link to go. On my way home to SJ they called me back to let me know that they had forgotten to include the link in the bag. It was a little inconvenient but upon my return they gave me a double order for the hassle. The food was amazing to say the least. The chicken was moist and delicious, Tri-Tip was perfect and the ribs left me wanting more and more and more. The ranch beans were uniquely delicious. I will undoubtedly return and would highly recommend the place to anyone for dine in or take out through their cool side window. read more

I stopped by here for lunch during the nearby farmer's market, and this is my new favorite place!! I got the brisket sandwich with Mac and cheese, and my friend got the pork plate with potato salad, beans, and cornbread. Of course I had to steal a few bites too and everything was soooo good. The brisket is melt-in-your-mouth delicious, and the Mac and cheese is the perfect amount of creamy and cheesy!! Lots of outside picnic tables which we love, the inside is super cute and the service is fantastic!! The cashier was super sweet and funny and totally put the cherry on top of the experience. Well.. after driving by Trail Dust many times and seeing the "sold out sign" I thought i'd give the place a try. Today I ordered 1/2 a slab of ribs, 1/2 pound of tri-tip, a side of potato salad and garlic bread... and boy let me tell you I was very dissatisfied The tri-tip was very chewy/ hard the ribs were also hard.. i was expecting fall off the bone ribs, the potato salad was ok, but a bit overpriced. As far as the garlic bread... OMG it was burnt.... I would NOT go to this place again. I'd rather drive a bit more and visit Famous BBQ Daves instead.. now those are real fall off the bone ribs.. read more

This is the place where I really started to learn about craft beer.. Even now I learn something new every time I go there. Best BBQ in town too, I used to go here years ago when it was different owners and the food is just as good if not better.. Jay will always pour you a sample of beer if you are unsure.. I try not to take advantage even tho everyone around me thinks it's Baskin Robbins. 21 taps is the most I've ever seen for a BBQ joint. They really know their stuff here.. if you are passing thru town then you should definitely stop by.... read more

Trail Dust BBQ is a fantastic local gem with a kind staff and great service. Every visit is a treat! My family and I particularly enjoy their breakfast tacos. They offer brisket, tri-tip, and pork options, but I always go for the brisket--it's the best! They scrambled eggs and jalapeños add a nice kick that elevates the flavors. The BEST BBQ around!!!! Excellent customer service. The owner and staff go above and beyond!!!!! One item of our order was not put in the take out bag, we had many items in the order. I called to let them know, the owner was very apologetic and said come back and I'll take the item off your tab! He threw in a free pint of potato salad, took the item off the bill and gave us a gift card!!! And to top it off the food is excellent!!! read more

Easily the best BBQ in the Bay Area. Perfectly smoked meats. Ribs, Tri-Tip and Pulled Pork are out of this world. While all the meats stand on their own, the home made sauces (spicy bbq sauce and molasses hogwash) add a dynamic finishing touch. WOW!!! Trail Dust is not only a fun environment but a delicious place to eat as well. You've got to try their ribs, so tender and juicy. Also their bbq chicken salad is the salad of all salads. And I can't forget the grilled to perfection bread...soo good. Make sure you save room for the berry cobbler....it's sinnfully delicious. This BBQ is very tasty. The ribs are, by far, the best thing on the menu! I wish they had pulled pork sandwiches on the dinner menu. Their sauce is excellent. I have had their chicken a few times and 9 times out of 10, it's very dry. You'll need extra sauce if you get it. It is a bit pricey, but since there aren't any other good BBQ places around, you're out of luck. Ribs are great though! read more

We stopped here for lunch and had some great barbeque. They offer everything from combo platters, to just meat (and lots of it), to small plates that give you a perfect mix of main entree and sides. The food came out fast and with good portions! Enjoyed the smoky flavored ribs upon arriving home. Very tasty and smoked to perfection! On a weekend away in Monterey, I stopped by for the first time. So happy we did! First timer and I am beyond satisfied. The vibe was so chill and inviting. Trail dust is littlerly the best Bbq Tri tip or anything BBQ in the area. Im in love with there Bbq tri tip its too die for. If you come here on a week day the crowd is that bad but on the weekends its full house . But still on the weekends my order done within 15 minutes. Best place around for ribs bar none. Great little place with old west decor and the best food in town. The ribs peel right of the bone and tri-tip and chicken have the flavor of trail dust's bbq sauce that is simply the best. The only drawback is the place is so popular it will sell out so arrive early. read more
