Our sliding door was super stiff and heavy for the first 7 years we lived in this house in Corona, and then the tenant after us was there for 7 years and kept it locked and closed the entire time. Not being opened in 7 years, it was barely moving. I like to fix my own stuff, but popping off the heavy glass door by myself to maintenance the hardware and rollers was too risky because if I broke it, that would cost more than just getting someone who does this every day. I called Mike last Thursday night and explained that we had a broken track on our sliding screen door. I sent a few pictures and gave him our address. Although he is located in Corona and we are in OC, he said he travels in our direction often and said he would let be in touch as soon as he knew when he would be in OC. After putting off getting my patio door track for almost 2 years I had an opportune conversation with my bro who mentioned that he had just had his done recently. Remembered the name Traks R Us since it so closely resembles the other T R Us place. He goes there quite frequently being that he has 3 kids and a 4th on the way lol. Some time passes and after trying to coordinate our schedule's Mike was finally able to get over this morning. Appointment was scheduled for 8am but he showed up about 30 minutes early. We bought a new home. The place was in need of many repairs. One of the items was a patio screen door. We took it to Ace Hardware for re-screening (they did an excellent job by the way). When we returned home to place it on the track we realized the track was broken. I called a couple of companies who claim to come out and give a free estimate. I needed nearly every screen door replaced and the sliding doors fixed on both the outside of the house as well as many of the closet sliding doors on the inside. Mike came out on Thursday, April 3 and replaced all the sliding door wheels, cleaned cleaned all the tracks, replaced or fixed all the screen doors, and repaired all the sliding mirror doors inside the house. It was quite a bit of work. There were five screen doors that needed to be fixed and the glass doors behind them, as well as three sliding mirror doors inside the house. For years we thought we needed to replace our sliding patio door, and we have been trying to save up the thousands of dollars it would have cost. I decided to see if it could be repaired instead. I called and left a message for Mike yesterday, March 2, requesting a quote for replacing the track on our patio slider. I texted him a couple of pictures and he quoted me the price. Mike was recommended to us by a window restoration company who had done work for us previously but does not repair sliding glass doors. Our four-foot door is 64 years old and had recently gotten increasingly difficult to slide. Mike arrived on time and equipped with a full array of tools, rollers, and hardware. The job proved to be much more difficult than anticipated because the original hardware had become corroded over the years and was impossible to remove. However, Mike was determined to see the job through and was able to eventually remove the old rollers and install new ones, replacing the two original single rollers with two double rollers. The door now slides easier than it ever has and can now be opened and closed by pushing with a single finger. Mike also inspected three other large sliders in the house and determined they worked well after some lubrication, and we will certainly call Mike again if any of them ever need repair. His determination to complete this job successfully was amazing, and he honored his original price estimate even though the work was more difficult and took longer than he anticipated. I tried using Service Magic to find someone to repair two large (80"H x 94"W) old sliding glass patio doors in our 38 year old home in a rural area in Temecula. They said that they could not find anyone in our area so I did an online search and came across Traks R Us. I called Mike Broders and he arranged to come over within just a few days. He also told me that for the work I was requesting it would likely be a minimum charge of $200. As summer was beginning to heat up and we couldn't open either of the two doors I agreed. Mike came over and quickly fixed both doors and on top of that, applied stucco patch to the bottom of the one door that was leaking, and fixed 3 of our Home Depot purchased made in China screen doors so that they worked like custom made ones!
