General Tso's Chicken and Sweet Sour Pork Ribs - 10/10 just the right flavor and very tender meat Shrimp fried rice 9/10 - same taste as the ones you would usually get in other cantonese restaurant. Lost a point because it was not as warm as I expected Ha gaw - 10/10 so cute because they were rabbit shaped and tasted really great Pork and shrimp soup dumpling (XLB) - 9/10 really good flavor, just felt like there could have been more soup inside. Egg tart - 7/10 fell a bit short on the flavor but still okay. I might try the cheese tart next time The interiors of this place were nice! Service was quite fast, and our server Ken was nice enough to change our order from Chow Mein to Fried Rice (problem was on our end, we ordered wrong and when it came out, they were still able to change it). I've come here three times now to try many dishes before writing this review. I'll rate the dishes I've had: Three color turnip cake: 0/5, don't get it Three color taro puff: 1/5, don't get it Baked char siu bao: 2.5/5 Sesame balls: 3.5/5, maybe 4/5, can't remember Black sesame lava dumpling: 3.5/5 Steamed mushroom veggie dumpling: 3.5/5 (pretty good for a mushroom dumpling, which normally wouldn't be my thing despite my fondness for mushrooms) Steamed char siu bao: 4/5 Pepper and fermented egg: 4/5 Multigrain sticky rice: 4.5/5 (surprisingly excellent) Siu mai: 5/5, can't remember if pork or shrimp were better, one was good and the other was really really good Phoenix dumpling: 5/5 Tofu claypot (not the seafood one): 5/5 The ambiance is nice but my experience with service has been mixed, see below. The dim sum prices are pretty affordable, surprisingly so for a bougie seeming place. One thing I'd say is that, if it sounds like a "modern spin" on a classic dish, there's a good chance it might not scratch your itch for that particular dish. I think the dinner food might be a bit better than the dim sum. With all that said, I have to give them a really low rating based on my third experience. We get there at the restaurant opening, order five dishes, and there are no other customers for 40 minutes, and there is only one other table of people until we've been there for an hour. The first second and third dish come out after 20 minutes. The fourth dish comes out after 45 minutes. The last one never comes, and no one checks up on us, despite us being the only people there most of the time, and then one of two tables for another 20 minutes. Eventually we ask about the last dish and we're told 5 minutes. 15 minutes pass and we ask again, and they say they didn't cook it. Restaurant is crowded by this point, and I swear I saw ~20 staff people walk by in that first hour. Of course places make mistakes, but they could have said something like "will that be all?" after bringing the 4th dish. Considering it took 45 minutes for a dish in an empty restaurant, it wasn't too crazy to think the last one would take just a little longer. Like come on, I really don't care about service, especially in Chinese restaurants, but this is just straight up people not doing their job and cost me 45 extra minutes of my life to literally not eat and to go somewhere else because we didn't want to wait any longer. read more

This place is my new favorite fancy Chinese restaurant. The decor is very nice and clean, and I love the lighted Chinese characters hanging outside - very beautiful. The food itself is very good. We pre-ordered a Peking duck, and although it was pricy at $88, it was one of the best Peking ducks I have had. It came with a ton of meat, pancakes, and salt and pepper duck bones. The green beans with eggplant were delicious and crispy, and the honey walnut shrimp were also beautifully presented. I also really liked the dim sum, and we got the Phoenix claws (which were huge!) and the turnip cake. All the food was excellent and total bill came to about $50/person. We ordered a ton of dishes: duck, combo noodles, winter melon soup, spicy spare ribs and pea sprouts. Everything was delicious. The only dish which I felt was too hot was the spicy spare ribs. Pleasantly surprised to have a really good local fancy Chinese/Dim Sum place in the neighborhood. It's so beautifully decorated inside and outside, so much that you wouldn't believe it used to be an IHOP. Don't underestimate the place just because it's next to a dollar store either. Much like Aladdin, it's a diamond in the rough! We had some traditional Chinese food- chow mein, scallion beef, corn chowder soup, dry fried garlic string beans, and some pork shumai. All very good! We like to try traditional dishes to see how they measure up. But OMG we saw flambéed roasted duck live a the table, and other table side shows that looked and smelled amazing. This is close to my residence and I have been dying to go. The food was amazing! I didn't make a reservation but they are encouraged especially if you want the duck. Noted for next time. Found it interesting that their pea shoots were labeled "market price" but me and my friends love vegetables and it not disappoint! Will go back to try the lotus root. XLB was meaty and soupy! My friend and I were trying to try this place since it use to be Ihop. The person in the front told the older ladies before us. They need to order take out since need reservations. My friend and I stop by. He said the same thing to us. We looked at the menu and left. Well, why is there only a handful of people seated and not even ful of peoplel on tables or wait list. Why is it Google you have seating available for 2 people? yet you cannot let anybody in unless they have reservations? That doesn't make sense. Any Chinese restaurants or dim sum places don't act like this at all. They usually have a wait list if it was super crowded yet it wasn't. Our soup and appetizer arrived in the middle of the meal, not beginning. The ladies' room - both stall's doors had broken latches; toilet paper dispenser also broken. Decor - hand-crafted fish design on walls and ceiling, lighted hanging Chinese sayings/proverbs along entry path - was the nicest part of the restaurant. Worth visiting just for that. Treasure is truly an appropriately named, amazing restaurant. I've come here several times and never had a bad experience. Every dish we have ordered has been nothing short of spectacular. The corn chowder is a family favorite. The Chongqing chicken has been a favorite dish of mine for decades and I was delighted to find it at treasure. The honey walnut shrimp is amazing. The beef with golden garlic is fantastic. Even our picky eater kids love it and always ask to go back. We used to go to Boiling Beijing in San Bruno for many of the same dishes, but they're made much better here at treasure. Even the service here is top notch, it's clean, spacious, and the tables are not cramped together. All the wait staff have been very helpful, courteous, and attentive. Cool glass(?) carp hung from the ceiling. Service: early on, the young guy w the black cap was the host and also came to take our order. I was hoping that help would arrive, poor guy was hustling. The woman who served our orders didn't say anything when she brought the first dish so we asked her what was what when she returned. She had some difficulty knowing what each dish was. Food: - Jade Shrimp Dumplings (4), har gow.. Big shrimp but the wrappers tended to fall off when grabbing them with chopsticks. Normally this is my favorite. Good shrimp amount but the wrappers should stay on. - Steamed Pork Ribs w black beans. Not much black bean sauce and the short rib pieces like knuckles had chewy fat without much meat or flavor, not my fave. - Shiitake & Chicken Potstickers (5) - Chive & Shrimp Potatickers (5) Mainly chives, one small shrimp in only 2 of the potstickers. - Crispy custard egg tarts (3): the host-waiter advised us these would take 30-40" to cook which was OK since I ordered them to go. They arrived in a fancy black bag. Very good! Light flaky crust, good size of custard. So now I know how this former IHOP place is. I was expecting dim sum cart service but you order from the menu. This is a great new Chinese restaurant that has opened in the area. The restaurant offers an authentic and peaceful vibe when you enter. There are lots of small gestures to the Chinese culture. The restaurant offers dim sum as well as large style Chinese dishes. We started with a pot of warm tea and then we ordered the traditional style dishes. We got hot and sour soup, Kung Pao chicken, and signature shrimp. We knew the soup was going to be a large quantity, but we love hot and sour soup. It was great to be able to take it home for another meal. Everything was really good. It was flavorful, the right amount, and delicious. So fancy! Came here for dim sum on a Saturday at 11am. Parking lot was filling up but there were still several spaces available. There were still a couple tables available, but was filling up fast. The inside looks really nice! Can definitely tell they newly opened. The only thing i didn't like was that the floor was a little slippery. I think it's on purpose though for some odd reason. Dim sum overall was pretty good. My favorite was the baked cha siu bao! Reminds me of Tim Ho Wan. We got the peking duck, that they bring tableside and carve for you. And then afterwards, they do something with the bones and return it to the table so you can gnaw at the leftover meat. Beware that this option does take a while. We probably stayed an extra 20 minutes or so just waiting for the bones. One of the most disappointing dining experiences I've had in a long time. We didn't have a reservation (they don't list a website anywhere, so we didn't know we needed one). We were quoted 30-45 minutes, yet still waited over 55 minutes--only to be seated while 8+ tables sat empty, either dirty or cleaned but unused. The seating and reservation system was chaotic and poorly managed. The renovation is nice, but the layout still feels like the old IHOP--just not suited for a Chinese restaurant. Unfortunately, the service was much worse. Servers ignored us repeatedly; we had to flag down multiple people just for water and tea. It took 10 minutes just to place an order, and the table next to us took 35 minutes to clear with four different staff helping. The restaurant wasn't even full, yet reservations were prioritized to an extreme. To make things even more frustrating, Peking duck must be pre-reserved, but this isn't mentioned anywhere on Yelp, so there was no way to know. For a grand opening, you'd expect logistics, staffing, and menu flow to be tightened up--clearly, they're nowhere close. Food Review * Jade Rabbit Shrimp Dumpling - Generous shrimp, but overcooked, and the "rabbit" shape wasn't even presentable. * Jade Pork Treasure Siu Mai - Overly starchy, took 20+ minutes, and nothing "treasure" about it. * Coral Shrimp on Jade Tofu - Tofu was hard, old, and broken on arrival; shrimp crumbled it further. * Shanghainese Pork Soup Dumpling - Skin was so thick the soup was absorbed. Honestly, Trader Joe's microwavable version is better. * Honey-Glazed Pork Buns - Barely tasted like pork; server said it was just steamed BBQ pork. * Orange Peel Beef Ball - The only decent item, but presentation still missed the mark. * Sticky Rice - Creative idea, but poorly executed. * Clay Pot Pickled Cabbage Pork Belly - Surprise soup-style dish, lacking flavor, absolutely not worth $29, and it doesn't even come with rice. * Beef Chow Mein - Quick arrival, but oily with harsh, uncooked garlic. * Pineapple Bun - They completely forgot to make it. A 7-year-old at our table disliked every dim sum dish--that says a lot. We also never received our complete order, even after an hour, and had to request multiple items be removed from the bill. I'll give them credit for attempting a modern, upscale dim sum concept similar to Palette in Hillsdale. But when service is disorganized, food is inconsistent, and staff lacks basic attentiveness, the entire experience falls apart. We tried Treasure for lunch today, just before the New Year, and were seated right away in a calm, understated dining room with matte stone floors and granite walls. We ordered the signature pan-fried chicken火热小煎鸡, premium soup: American ginseng pigeon with bamboo fungus花旗参竹笙虫草花炖鸽子汤, crispy grass carp fillets脆鲩三韵, garlic stir-fried A-choy蒜炒A菜, and jasmine rice香米饭. The food was immediately impressive. One sip of the soup and one bite of the chicken - and I was almost in tears - the familiar, soulful flavors I grew up with - that unmistakable taste of home. Even the jasmine rice stood out: fragrant, slightly chewy, with a subtle grassy aroma. Everything we ordered was delicious, but these are absolute must-orders: 1. Premium soup: American ginseng pigeon with bamboo fungus 花旗参竹笙虫草花炖鸽子汤 - The broth is beautifully layered and deeply flavorful. The date is plump, infused with the soup without turning mushy, retaining its natural sweetness. The bamboo fungus adds a gentle crunch that completes the dish perfectly. Exactly the way I remember it from home. 2. Signature pan-fried chicken 火热小煎鸡 - This dish is outstanding. Juicy, tender chicken cubes stir-fried with jalapeño, bell peppers, and julienned ginger that adds incredible aroma and depth. The mix of Thai red chilies and jalapeños delivers just the right kick. Love that Belmont now has two dimsum restaurants to choose from! Treasure is located in the old IHOP, which has been completely transformed into a modern contemporary restaurant. Service was good for a soft opening, we were seated promptly for lunch without any wait. There is a special tea menu with a variety of specialty teas, but they also have several free teas to choose from too. Many tables had electric teapot warmers, sadly the one on our table was not working. On to the food, we enjoy our dimsum and ordered a selection of traditional dishes. The shrimp dumplings were large and good but were missing something in the expected flavor profile, note that there are several shrimp dumplings on the menu and our waiter guided us to the traditional hargow. The baked pork buns were quite good. We also had shrimp/pork shumai which were large and meaty. We really liked the Triple Blessings Steamed Platter which is a steamed combo of chicken feet, black bean ribs and tripe. Finished our lunch with flavorful, plump egg custard tarts. We were regulars of China Village for over twenty years and measure dimsum against theirs. Treasure has good dimsum (though the taste needs a little tweaking), and love the modern contemporary Chinese decor. Yeah, we'll be back. read more

Treasure has a very nice atmosphere and ambiance. The place is furnished upscale in Oriental motifs with soft, pleasant piano music playing over a sound system. The food is prepared with creativity and the portions are standard. The food tastes good and fine but nothing really special. There is liberal use of ginger in the potstickers and pea shoots in superior broth dishes. The price for the dim sum items are within the normal range in the area but the other menu items can be much pricier (compare the beef chow mein for $24.95 to one for $12.95 at another good Chinese restaurant). We came here for a belated CNY lunch with friends and booked the private room in the back, which had a large round table that could accommodate 18 people. I also like the giant automated lazy susan in the middle of the large round table! The minimum spend was $1000, which we just barely hit with 17 people, and we still had some leftovers. Stylish new Chinese restaurant in Belmont that is a sister restaurant to Imperial Treasure on Cal Ave in Palo Alto. Friendly service and no reservations needed for weekday lunches. Portions are larger happily than expected. Loved the Signature Pam fried chicken - asked to reduce the spice level and the flavor was perfect. The single serving ginger, bamboo fungus pigeon soup with goji berries was exactly what I wanted: herby, soothing and comforting. Peashoots were at marked price of $27 so we just went with broccoli, which was perfectly executed and super fresh. The pork and bamboo shoots dish was decent but very mild in flavor (it may be because I asked for it to not be spicy). I didn't love the XLB as it lacked the soup a d would skip the lychee shaped fried shrimp balls as I found gem a tad bit greasy, though beautifully presented. The cute coconut custard bunnies had a mild flavor and were not too sweet. Overall a great authentic Chinese establishment.
