Short visit. Down on Whitehall is this joint...first time there. It was On Point! Ya heard me? When I'm in the ATL again I'm gonna be posted up here for dinner and see how that works out. I got the Fish and Chips, Cole Slaw, Wings and Okra to take on the plane. Ok. The okra didn't make it to the airport...and the portion was generous. It was fried right. I recently ordered the fish & shrimp basket at Trederick's. I even paid the $2.00 extra for catfish. It was supposed to come with 3 pieces of fish and 5 shrimp. (The total was $28.00!!!...) I just knew I was going to have enough food for 2 meals. When the server handed me the bag- I knew something wasn't right!!- It was light and blowing in the wind. Do you know that these folks are cutting a normal catfish filet IN HALF and counting it as a full piece of fish??!?! CRAZY WORK!! To add insult to injury, they only gave me 2 cat fish slivers and one shrimp more to make up for the missing 3rd nugget!! Now, don't get me wrong, the fish & shrimps were utterly delicious!!.. Popped in for a quick bite since we were in the area. The food presentation is amazing but oh so much to be desired. First the catfish was very fresh, like it came came straight from the sea. Then it was wet, slimy inside The shrimp was ok, fries blah and salmon burger needed work - no seasoning and it didn't hold together. I had to eat it with a fork. I wasn't really that impressed with this spot. The amount I spent compared to the taste of the food just wasn't really worth it. The food was your pretty basic seafood platter. Pretty good. Clean establishment and the service is very good. It is a good option for seafood especially for take out. The food came out quickly but I was the only person who was there ordering so I'm not sure if that's the case when it's crowded. I ordered two fried seafood platters. It normally comes with whiting and they let me substitute the second platter with catfish. My daughter also requested the hush puppies instead of fries. She said the catfish and hush puppies were very good good. I substituted the fries with the broccoli which the young plady suggested. It was very good as it was cooked and seasoned well. The platter also comes with a crab cake which was flavorful and cooked perfectly. The shrimp was seasoned well and flavorful. My whiting was a bit over cooked though but as a whole the platter is very good. You will have a sticker shock at $24 each platter so if you're not too hungry, get the basket which we probably should have done. There is a well appointed patio with cute bistro tables scattered throughout and even though Tredrick's is located on a busy intersection, you don't notice it. The privacy bushes are well situated. Con: The speakers were blasting the live broadcast of V103. No sensorship of the music. I caution you against bringing young and old as the atmosphere isn't family friendly. Also, this is not a good spot for a quiet date night. 2nd Impression: Pro: This is a beautiful space. Well appointed, light and airy. Nautical themed, so you are instantly ready for a seafood feast. Marble tiled bathrooms were spotless! So far so good. Also, keep in mind, there are no customers when we arrive and only 1 party of 4 come in while we're there. The woman behind the counter was friendly and took our orders. I ordered a platter with broiled salmon, sauteed shrimp, corn, potatoes and I substituted scallops for sausage. Friend A ordered The Tredrick Lobster boil with the works along with sides, mac n cheese and salad. Friend B ordered the posted special. Crab, shrimp, potatoes, corn boil with sides mac n cheese and salad. Our combined bill for 3 was $140. It took a bit of time to receive our order. This surprised us all. We were a party of 3, and whilst there only a party of 4 entered. There were items missing from order. 1 person received ordered sides, the other did not and had to ask about them. The woman behind questioned if the order was placed for them. They had. She did bring them out. The lasting impression: Pro: The food looked amazing. Broiled sausage was delicious. Con: Unfortunately, the taste and texture were not. Potatoes on all platters were raw. Corn on the cob slices were chewy. Not freshly cooked. Salmon was so overcooked I could not eat it. Upon having a day date with my wife, we decided on seafood in the area. Upon arriving to Trederick's, there was apprehension from my wife because of the lack of customers. I convinced her to try it anyway. We approached the counter and ordered Shrimp and Grits and Fish with fries. We waited for approximately 10 to 15 minutes, when our food was brought out to us. We sat outside because the weather was nice, plus the furnishings reflected the setting of the restaurant. I'm usually not speechless but I was this time as the food was perfection. Perfectly fried fish and fries. Perfect grits as wells as seasoned shrimp. Plus the key lime cake was awesome as well not to mention huge! If you haven't tried this hidden gem, please do. This place made a great first impression. The health score is 100. The decor is nice. The two gender neutral bathrooms are clean and very nice. The service was friendly. I ordered the fish and chips. The lady showed me my order before bagging it for takeout. Saw some delicious looking fillets of fish, but no potatoes. I asked "what part of this is chips?". She said "they are underneath..", "do you want some fries?". So I waited again as an order of fries were cooked. It wasn't until I got home that I realized that the "chips" were underneath the fish (see photo). There were several pieces of fried batter under the fish. Fish and chips originated in England and means fish and fried potatoes. You can't just twist an entree like that, not disclose it on the menu, and expect customers to be satisfied. At least, they added fries for no extra charge. The food was delicious. The coleslaw was very good, but had too much dressing for me. I will return for sure. read more

I had the boiled crawfish, in May so I think it was a little late in the season for this part of the country. While it was well seasoned, the crawfish were a little too mushy and small. I also had the fried lobster tail which is an absolute winner! it is delicious and much more affordable then other places (Capital Grille!). Others in my party allowed me to taste their fried tilapia and hush puppies, also winners! Really well done flavors here. Atmosphere/decor Casual and bright. There is an order counter where you place your order and then it is delivered to your table. Service Service was also outstanding! Tredricks is well on its way to being the new go to for seafood. I have prepared myself in the future to call ahead; since, I know the lines are going to get crazy once the word gets out. I love the seating arrangement and the outside patio. I cannot wait for the weather to warm up, so I can eat out there. Importantly, I have enjoyed everything that I have tried so far. So, on my first visit, I got the fried catfish and macaroni ....baked macaroni to be exact. That is important to note because many places are just doing the stovetop macaroni. Thus, I must say, I'm not a fan of it... I'm a southern girl and I need my macaroni to stick together, Ok!. Anywho, the catfish was seasoned 2 perfection. It was slightly on the greasy side, but it didn't deter me from finishing my fish. On my second visit, I had the salmon burger and I went classic with the french fries. Now, I must note that I'm a fan of my OWN salmon burgers. I typically don't order it because I'm a little biased, since I know mine's are Bomb! However, I decided to atleast give it a try... and uh, it was pretty dang good! The salmon tasted fresh, it was juicy, and I didn't need any sauce. The patty was a fulfilling size, which is very important for me. I hate when I'm still hungry after spending all that money! Stopped by this restaurant today for the second time in several months. Ordered two entrees, one whiting & one catfish, both with fries. Total came to $28.00 plus taxes. Waited 10 minutes, which was not a problem. On the way home my car had a wonderful smell, but that's where the good ended. When we opened our containers, we're we ever disappointed! So much so that I started to take it back, but decided to just eat it, report it on Yelp, and cross them off my list. In each container were two "mini fish" with gobs of French fries and something that resembled potato chips! No bread or anything else. I've seen larger pet goldfish! Please know that I am not here to bash any business. Ownership does not matter, but customer service and great food is a sought after thing for me. I travel the world for great food, that makes my palate sing. As I pulled into the parking lot, there was not a lot of curve appeal, but neither was the little hole in the wall in South Africa or New Orleans. The customer service was excellent and the young lady was very kind. I ordered the crab cakes and okra. I waited until I arrived at my destination, washed my hands, and blessed the food. The food was still warm, but as I opened the container the smell that should have been a sweet aroma, was the total opposite. The smell was almost sickening. I thought maybe it was the spices that were used, but no. The crab cakes taste spoiled. The okra taste unseasoned, as if they were cooked in old grease. I was very disappointed, because an Instagram icon raved about this place. I tried calling, but there was no answer. If I weren't headed out of the country, I would have returned the food. Great customer service. They have both a breakfast & dinner menu that's available all day. My niece and I order the crab leg clusters. They were seasoned well and not over cooked like most people do. The items on the menu are reasonably priced so I can easily see this becoming one of my favorite spots. Outside is a huge patio which will be great for people watching in the summer time. One order chicken fingers and fries, shrimp and grits, and a whiting fish sandwich, and 2 drinks almost $50 bucks, a little pricey for me. Visited with a friends suggestion, had lunch with my kid. I got the fried shrimp basket and corn and she had Mac & cheese. The food was hot and service was great. The cashier took our order & brought the food and all condiments and utensils needed to our table. My shrimp were very crispy and seasoned well. I came here for brunch one day with my dad. My dad is handicapped and we did have to figure out a way for him to get in because the the walkway space to get in was kind of narrow for a wheelchair. I ordered fried shrimp with a waffle and my dad ordered the French toast meal with a side of hush puppies. I never have to have the waffle again but the shrimp were very good. My dad is also still talking about the French toast till this day i need a whole bag of the hush puppies forreal. I also ordered an Italian icee before we left and it was amazingggg (pictured). During quarantine, Juicy Crab (my go-to) was out of my delivery zone so I had to order from somewhere closer. I stumbled upon Tredericks, which was mediocre -- but got the job done. I ordered the fried lobster tail and crab legs. There's no sauce on the crab legs, but they do provide you with some pretty good garlic butter to dip your crab legs in. I saw this place while driving home one day on Metropolitan and decided to try it. Me and a girlfriend of mine went for dinner. Let me start by saying that you cannot order drinks here, it has a sit down area but I can tell that guests mostly pick up the food and leave. If you want to have drinks, you need to order your food and go next door to the Blue Ivory Restaurant and Lounge (I think they are both owned by the same person), which is what me and my friend did. We ordered drinks there and waited for our food when our food arrived, it was so salty that we couldn't eat it. I NEVER send back food so I struggled through it but my friend had just had surgery and advised not to eat a lot of salt so she had to send hers back. The mgr at the lounge was super understanding. She actually tasted a small piece of my friends food (once she asked to send it back of course) and agreed that it was too salty to eat. I'm thinking maybe the chef was a little heavy handed with the salt that day and maybe it's not normally that bad. Once we finished eating, the owner gave us a tour of the lounge, which is HUGE and has a lot of interesting spaces (I highly recommend checking them out for parties). What a phenomenal find! We came here after picking my hubby up from the airport on a cold Monday night. They were not busy and close to closing but the hospitality was still out of this world. And the food... Maaaan the food. My hubby had the seafood boil and added crawfish as an appetizer. I had the fried shrimp and clams with a side of fried okra. Everything was yummy, yummy, yummy. Like a little party in your mouth. Everything was freshly cooked and came to the table piping hot. The only downside was that the sweet tea would give you cavities. Waaaay too much sugar.
