I was visiting my brother's family and was craving Vietnamese since it'd been a few days. Coming from San Jose, I have pretty high expectations but wasn't expecting much since we weren't heading to OC for our Viet fix. I will say I was VERY pleasantly surprised by this spot and even went twice in one week. Here are the dishes we tried: - Banh Mi Chao 5/5: Flavors were on point! I loved the mixture of the diced tomatoes and plum tomatoes. The cha was delicious and the right texture. I'm spoiled with cha Duc Huong up north and compare it to all. Only wish the skillet was warmer and actually sizzled. - Garlic Noodles with Shaking Beef 5/5: I really liked the crispy char on the beef and the marinade was very well done. Next time I'll ask for it to be medium rare instead as it was a bit overcooked for me. Garlic noodles were extremely flavorful! The spicy green sauce paired really well with the beef. - Pork Belly with Fried Rice 3/5: Flavors on this dish were on point and the fried rice was very well done with the egg and separated, rice kernels. Unfortunately, the pork belly skin was chewy, not crispy so that was a miss. - Xoi Man (Sticky Rice) 4/5: The components and taste were all there but the Xoi was a little too sticky and clumpy for my taste. - Egg Coffee, Banana Coffee & Black Sesame Coffee were all very well balanced and strong! Appreciate that they offer oat milk. The restaurant is spacious, clean and I really liked the aesthetics. I know my brother and SIL will be coming often since it's so close to them and I'll be there next time I'm in town. read more

The Bò Né came out sizzling with tender beef and perfectly cooked eggs--great with the bread to soak up all that savory sauce. It got to the point we just went up to make our order. We came here for dinner since I saw some great reviews on Yelp. We ordered the salted egg chicken cartilage which was amazing. I would definitely order it again. The garlic noodles with shaken beef were great as well. The beef was very tender and very flavorful. Keep in mind that there's a sweetness to it which I wasn't expecting but still good. My husband and son both enjoyed the stone pot pho. I ordered the ribeye skillet Bo ne which was decent. It's not a dish that I would order again. It had a light mushroom sauce which wasn't necessary. The beef wasn't as tenderized as the shaken beef. Maybe because it was thin and cooked to well done. The bread had a nice thin crispiness on the outside while soft and warm on the inside. It also had a little side of Vietnamese butter and pate to enjoy with your bread. We got a free coffee as a promotion. We ordered the black sesame coffee which was very good and strong. I've eaten here twice now, and it's pretty good. The prices are slightly high for a college study cafe, but it's not exorbitant or anything. Realistically they're normal prices for the food you are getting. That being said, what really makes this place stand out is that it has Viet Namese dishes that is rare even in Little Saigon. Having a local place that serves banh mi chao is amazing. Banh mi chao is a Vietnamese breakfast/brunch meal that consists of different luncheon meats (sausage, ham, pate) served with eggs, tomato sauce, a light gravy, soft cheese, and other things, accompanied with a baguette. Everyone makes it different based on how well off your family was and what ingredients were available. The food here isn't incredibly stand out or amazing, but it is very good. I got the Bo Ne today, which is a steak skillet with pate, eggs, tomato, and sauce. It was good, the steak itself was a little thin, but for the price perfectly fine sized. The ca phe sua da/Viet Namese Iced Coffee with condensed milk was genuinely amazing. Both times I've come here, the barista was a cute Viet girl with glasses and a pony tail, and she makes the coffee amazingly good. I do think they use espresso instead of the traditional drip coffee, but I'm not 100% sure. It's genuinely some of the best I've had. The fried foods are really well done, I didn't get any this time but going from my last visit, They're well fried and much better than you usually get at a place like this. The music is a little loud and the space is very open with tiling and walls so sounds echo and it is a little hard to hear, but seeing that it's a study cafe, that makes sense. The staff is extremely nice, and it's a wonderful spot to pick up a drink and study or have a meal. Overall, it's a great place for lunch, good food, good drinks, just a tad bit expensive for a normal lunch. Eventually I'll try the other things on the menu, but if I'm ever craving Viet Food that I can't usually get around the south bay, I will come here. read more

Straight off the airport, we found the closest Asian restaurant nearby, and my gut instinct did NOT fail me. From the outside, this place hides quietly inside a small plaza, but once the food hits the table? It completely steals the spotlight. The pasta was unbelievably creamy, and the portion size was perfection -- enough to keep you full while somehow making you want another bite immediately after. My girlfriend ordered the beef, and honestly, the only word I can use to describe it is: "TENDERISM." That beef was juicy, flavorful, and melt-in-your-mouth tender. And don't get me wrong, the food alone was already amazing, but the service? That's what would have me flying back to LA for more. The staff wasn't overly in your face, but they were always there exactly when you needed them. Overall, this was a truly stupendous experience. I'm not exaggerating when I say I've been looking EVERYWHERE for Bo ne since I came back from my Vietnam trip last year. It's my favorite Vietnamese dish but sadly there are so few restaurants in LA that serve banh mi chao. But lo and behold, Triple-T answered my prayers!!! They're currently in their soft opening until April 1st. I thought their bo ne was super delicious!! The beef was tender, and the mushroom sauce, butter, and pate together were so flavorful. My only criticism would be that I wish there were at least 2 eggs in the skillet and that they offered cream cheese on the side! My fiancé ordered the garlic noodles with shaken beef- this was also very yummy! The drinks here were all pretty great and well-priced. We tried the banana cream coffee, matcha einspanner, and earl grey matcha. My fave was the banana cream coffee! Our drinks were earl grey matcha latte, pink salt chocolate and coconut matcha. EVERYTHING was delicious! The food is made to order, fresh and full of flavor! We throughly enjoyed our food and drinks and gladly took home our left overs! The service was excellent and waitress was kind! Shoutout to the cooks and to the waitress/ Barista! Triple T is a gem of a spot. I highly recommend trying them out! This will be a place we will take family and friends to if they're in the area visiting! Side note: I don't think it's in the best area maybe during the day is fine but just be safe at night since it's in a small plaza where most establishments close earlier so it may seem like there isn't anyone around.
