    SAHTEIN MIXED GRILL
    Jazmyne M.

It's been a while since we've dined in, but we came for Valentine's Day and we're so excited to see the upgraded menu. This place is elegant yet cozy and the staff are always so friendly. We tried the mixed grill and it's more than enough for 2 people. Also, zaatar wings are the purrfect sweet and crispy!! Everything is fresh, packed with flavor and indisputable. Wow. We love this place!!

I don't have much to compare the food at Tripoli's to as I have not had much Middle Eastern food, but I did love the dish that I ordered. I had a Tunisian chicken rice bowl. All of the ingredients were fresh, flavorful, and abundant in my bowl. The aïoli sauce on top truly completed the dish. We had good service but when we visited, there was only one other table so our weight was short. The dining area is clean and beautiful. It's very appealing. I look forward to trying Tripoli's again and branching out and try new dishes.

3.5 Made a reservation ahead of time and met a group of our friends here for dinner. Nice modern clean establishment located in a strip mall, where parking can get quite busy. Menu had some interesting tasty dishes that were very reasonable. Note that it is a dry establishment where no alcohol is served. Service was very slow- It took awhile for our server to greet us (he did apologize) and take our drink and food orders. Food took a bit long to come out of the kitchen, as well as flagging someone down to pay our bill. My mocktail- oum kalthoum- quite floral in flavor with heavy notes of rose. Refreshing, but don't think I would order it again. My dinner- Tunisian chicken rice bowl sans rice, lettuce instead. Chicken was tasty and had a slight kick, but the bowl lacked the grilled veggies that I had hoped for. So, I ordered Arabic salata which was an extra $7.50 for diced cucumbers, onions, and tomatoes. Beef kofta kebab plate- per my hubby- great flavors, beef juicy. Portion size could be a little bigger. Great ambience, tasty food, service slow. Military discount offered.

I really enjoyed this place. Food was great. Our waitress was excellent. They have many options on their menu. They also have baked goods, coffee and tea. We went for lunch, but I want to return for just a hot beverage and a baked good one day. For lunch, I had the chickpea salad with the zaatar manakeesh. This is a cheese flatbread with zaatar spices. The chickpea salad is a good portion for being the half portion. It comes on a bed of arugula with chickpeas, red peppers, and feta. It is topped with a lemon herb vinaigrette. For dessert I had a small pastry with date. I don't remember what it was called, but it is one of their baked items. It reminded me of a fig newton. I did try their rose tea. I love rose flavored drinks. It was good, but a bit sweet for my liking. The restaurant is very pretty and it has a good amount of seating. Parking is available on site we shared with the other businesses.

Decided to stop in just to try out something different. We left satisfied, we asked the server to surprise us and he brought out Libyan couscous. My friend and I enjoyed it, I'd say it wasn't anything wildly flavorful per se but it was good. We ordered two pomegranate limonadas and they were incredibly sweet and I have a very big sweet tooth. Besides that our server was very nice and friendly, although slow at times. The place was decorated very beautifully and had a slight upscale vibe. I will be returning simply to try their Lamburger which sounds absolutely delicious! I will update my review then!

Recent visit to Tripoli's. It took 10 minutes to be visited by waitress when there was only ONE other table occupied; it felt awkward and we almost left. However, we started off with chickpea salad appetizer. It was good but there was way TOO MUCH lettuce cut in big strips. Dressing was very light. Ordered a Tunisian chicken schwarma; it was good but a bit spicy. The Tbahij (Libyan ratatouille) was delicious with eggplant and potatoes and other veggies. Asked the waitress if I could use the points I earned but she said she didn't know how. Interesting that I keep getting text messages about how many points I have earned. Oh well... (BTW, another patron commented on a bowl she ordered that lacked grilled vegetables ... just like one I received at an earlier time and in which I was chastised by the owner for not sending it back.)

Wonderful restaurant. The service was a bit spotty but everyone was kind. The food was delicious, I only wished the falafel wasn't as dry. Presentation was phenomenal, especially the pot of tea!! Vegan-friendly restaurant, at least 4-5 options. Not many people there on a Sunday night so it was quiet with a relaxing ambiance.

Food: 3/5 - wife and I stopped by to check the place out as we were in the mood for something middle eastern or Mediterranean cuisine. We got an order of falafel to share, wife got the chicken shawarma plate and I ordered the gyros. The falafels were tasty though we felt the chickpeas were grainy and dense. But flavor was good. You get 5 to an order. My gryo was tasty though I felt the tzatziki was more a labneh but still filling and good. My wife felt her chicken shawarma was too wet - almost like the chicken was cooked in a gravy instead of on a spit. Odd. She enjoyed the chicken but not something we would order again. Ambience: 3/5. Nice decor though the music needs to be not as loud. Clean and well decorated. Service: 3/5 the young man waiting on us was polite and checked up on us way too often. But - never asked if he could refill my wife's iced tea. Instead kept asking if he could get us anything else though the iced tea glass was clearly visible to anyone. All in all - was a decent experience but not likely to return.

10/10 on authentic Mediterranean food, top notch service and the most relaxing ambiance. I was blown away initially by the decor. The freshly made hummus, rice bowls and lattes were all delicious and well crafted. The owner and our server Mars were extremely professional and helpful by providing insight to the dishes served. If you're looking for authenticity, then you have found it.

I had a hard time walking out without calling for the manager or owner. I would like to start my post with the positive so here it goes. The ambiance was great, everything from the decorative rugs, Arab writing on the wall, tagine pottery and brass crafts were perfectly displayed. The tabbouleh salad was very tasty, it had the right amount of ingredients making it pretty as well as colorful placed in the neat brass metal bowl. Now with the things that require immediate remedial attention: 1. The burger was overrated, overcooked and dry. 2. The chick pea salad lacked chick peas, dressing, onions and feta cheese. 3. The lamb Kofta plate was prepared right however, it was not enough meat for the price and the cream sauce tasted like straight butter with a hint of garlic. The pita bread was lukewarm and looked like it had been unwrapped, quartered and thrown in a microwave for 30 seconds prior to serving it. 4. Drinks Ordered: The Cafe' Arabia was very tasty BUT, I didn't get it until we were almost done with our meal. We ordered drinks when we were first seated so that was a big red flag. My wife also ordered the Moroccan mint teapot and she didn't get it until after I got my coffee. I told the barista/waiter to cancel it when I got my coffee but he said it was also ready for us and could put it in a to-go cup for her. That kind of defeated the whole experience of drinking tea while waiting for our meal. 5. The service was really slow. Took over 15 minutes to get our (tap) waters and 20 minutes for our food when we were the only ones in the restaurant until we had placed our order. 6. The waitress needs some serious people skills and bussing training to know how to serve food and drinks. She touched the tops of the glasses her fingers. She didn't greet us and practically dropped the plates on the table when she brought them out. To add insult to injury, she put the handheld pay device on the table without asking us if we wanted or needed anything else. My kids wanted to try out some desserts, so luckily for us, the nearby HEB has plenty to offer. I had high hopes for this place because of what the owner posted on Instagram and it is so close to our neighborhood. Guess we will have to continue driving further into the city to other Mediterranean and Middle-Eastern restaurants that have better food and service.

Really good food! The service was wonderful and our server was sweet. They were our of cauliflower for my falafel bowl but replaced it with extra falafel which was fantastic! Chill vibes and wonderful food!

It seems like reservations are encouraged. At every visit, the servers greeted me with water and asked for my dietary preferences. You can tell that the servers all work together as I had other servers stop by to pack up my food and refill my water. I do love how they offer to pack up my leftovers and do so very nicely. 1st visit: My server was a sweetheart, very attentive, and super nice! I made reservations for 5PM on a Friday. I was one of the first to arrive, but the restaurant quickly filled up. I opted for the Mezas De Alegria, the server brought out Tirshi, Roasted Cabbage, Steamed Red Snapper, and Olive Oil Cake! All were very tasty, my favorites being the Tirshi and Steamed Red Snapped! I also ordered the Greek Wine flight, I enjoyed the Troupis wine best! Out of all of my dining experiences, this was by far my favorite! 2nd visit: My server was also attentive and kind. This time, I didn't make a reservation, I just walked in but was able to be seated at 11AM on a Sunday. I opted the for Turkish Brunch and the Mint Limonada, and they were able to accommodate my dietary preference! Everything was good once again, my favorites were the Grilled Olive and Tomato Salad, Fire Roasted Peppers, and Shakshuka. The Mint Limonada was too sweet for my preference, I had to water it down with some water. 3rd visit: My most recent server was very sweet and kind but wasn't as attentive. I made reservations for 5PM on Friday. She got held up by a table nearby a couple of times. I tried items from the Culinaria Restaurant Week Menu (Armenian Salad, Texas Waygu Kebabs, and Local Fruit Sorbet) Everything was soo good and flavorful. I really enjoyed the Armenian Salad. The Texas Waygu Kebabs were good, but a little chewy for my preference. They were cooked about Med-Well/Well done, though I prefer my beef to be cooked Medium, but I wasn't asked about my preference. I also wasn't given a steak knife and tried to wait for my server, but she was with another table for a while. I had to use my butter knife... The Local fruit sorbet was very refreshing and a light dessert to end my evening. Overall, great experiences, flavor-packed food! I enjoy Mediterranean food, so I'll be back to try more items off their menu!

Should have asked that during reservation but fine. It was quite warm outside and they only had one industrial sitting fan. At a place this nice I expected some ceiling fans to be honest. Or something a bit classier. Service was mediocre, a bit overbearing to be honest with multiple pushes for us to order more. We tried the butternut squash dip, the spicy feta, the hummus, roasted corn and the lamb ribs. We also got 2 spitz and 2 beer. Total for four people with tip was about 95 bucks which is fair. We had a vegetarian at our table so they brought out veggies to dip as well which was nice. My favorite was the roasted corn and the surprisingly the feta. It was enough to be full. Lamb was fatty but flavored nicely.

All the grilled meats were very tasty. Usually chicken is the least tasty in Mediterranean grill but over here they really know what they were doing. Happy with our selections. Complimentary bread and dip is a plus. The dip is really good. Too bad the server couldn't tell the name of this dip, he just said it's house made. They can certainly create a name to avoid confusion. Service can be improved, thus 4 stars. 1. The store is open until 9pm but kitchen is closed at 8:15om. They have no alcohol license yet as of July 2026. I don't know if they have food that's microwaveable that can be served after 8:15. 2. They don't provide water unless you ask, they only have water bottle for $1 each. They could have said this when they take your order: "Anything to drink?" But they don't ask if you want anything to drink at all. I saw other tables also don't have a drink.
