Came here for the first time for lunch with the family. Loved it! My wife ordered a dip which name I cannot remember (it had Greek yogurt, dill, cucumber, and olive oil), but was super delicious and came with little hot pieces of pita bread! I had the beef Shawarma with the Greek salad, my wife had a rice bowl with lamb gyro, and the kids shared a classic jibin (goat cheese flat bread dish). My wife cleaned her bowl -a rare occurrence- and praised the flavors. The kids actually ate the whole 1X1' flat bread . My dish was very good as well . The service was hospitable and very quick. I also had a Persian tea that was OK, but not impressive. It all came out to $37 (not including tip). I would totally recommend this place. This is one of my favorites near the lackland area. The Tripoli's dip with pita bread is so unique and AMAZING! If you've never tried it, do yourself a favor! This place was not what other yelpers said it was. Maybe I went on an off night but I don't think so. I had five people in my party and we were all disappointed. The server told us that they were out of everything except gyros and the rice bowls. After ordering gyros and a rice bowl we got food that not only looked unappealing but it was cold and there was hardly any meat in the gyros. 1st of all CALIFORNIA BANS STRAWS not TEXAS..As a result of California banning straws. There are now restaurants that are keeping the straws. Customers in California have complained way to much. Is it helping the environment; NO in fact it has the opposite effect. 2nd they say that if you want straws you have to buy there metal reusable ones BS. Food is way over priced...there wasting money on over portions for customers. We were the only ones in that place and they had way to many employees standing around doing nothing. When we got our to go boxes they gave us plastic bowels (NOT SO GOOD FOR ENVIRONMENT) AND YET they stop with straws, another pointless waste of money. I saw this the other day and stopped by to get a quick lunch. Ordered some hummus and a gyro wrap. The gyro was wonderfully juicy, with great flavor. It's the best I've had in San Antonio (and that includes gyros from Pasha, a restaurant I also like and have been to many times). Will have to go back to Tripoli's and try more from the menu, but this seems very promising. And even better, it's not far away from where we live. read more

So we called to find out what happened....... wait for it..... they said that the delivery driver came back but the restaurant was closed! What kind of idiot you think I am? Sure blame it on the driver. You had a WHOLE hour to get food ready and you honestly are going to tell me that the driver, your employee doesn't know when you're closing....unexpectedly or what a coincidence because it states that delivery ends at 20:30 on Grubhub site!! I have always been very happy with the customer service and food here. The coffee bar is neat and has amazing Turkish coffee! They also bring in locally baked sweets for the coffee bar. If you haven't given it a try you should! Get the chicken swarma and the Turkish coffee for desert! read more

Ordered lamb and after placing the order received a call they were out of lamb so I got the beef and it was like crumbled beef flattened to a thin strip. It was the worst! Since she said it would be about 10 minutes, I stopped next door at YoFresh and got a bubble tea (which I found out you could order from Tripoli since it's next door!) Got back to the office and food was hot, fresh and delicious! Hummus was nice and smooth with soft warm pita. I also got an appetizer that was meat wrapped in philo and fried - I forget what it's called but it was awesome! You get SIX in a portion and I could eat those all day long. Not a bad place for hookah or food. I have yet to eat in the actual dinning area. This is because the hookah area is separated from the restaurant. The place has a lot of potential. Currently, half the seats have no cushions on them and there is only one small area to actually get comfortable. The service is intermittent. While the staff are polite, they seem to be overworked and rotate between multiple jobs in the yogurt shop, restaurant, and hookah area. The clientele are a mix of college kids who play computer games on the 2 wall mounted t.v's and military tech schoolers. The food is slightly overpriced for what you get. $5 for a shawarma... $8 if you want it in a combo with a handful of curly fries and a can of coke. The food's pretty good, but a little Americanized. I recently came back form Cyprus were the kebabs were huge and the shawarma's were overflowing with meat and fresh produce. Like i said before, it has potential.
