After filling out the form (thank you for letting me know), I was emailed by Christy letting me know they'd be happy to remake the breakfast to make it right. The breakfast quesadilla was completely different, in a good way! It was filled with ingredients and cut this time. It was very tasty. They also remade my PB crunch bowl so I could have both things again. I enjoyed mine and made my 14 month old a version of it at home, although he shared a couple bites of mine, so we could have our PB banana yogurts in tandem. I got the Chicken Chorizo Wrap (chicken chorizo, rice, black beans, smoked cheese blend, crispy southwest tortilla strips, romaine & creamy avocado dressing, toasted flour tortilla) and a Chicken Chorizo 'Dilla (chicken chorizo, roasted pineapple salsa, queso blanco, cheddar & smoked cheese blend in a pressed flour tortilla, roasted tomato salsa on the side) simply because it sounded really good. I also got a Blimey Limey (strawberry, pineapple, orange juice & lime) with an edible lime straw. Both were really good but if I had to choose one over the other I'd say the 'Dilla was better, probably because of the mixture of flavors, sweet and smoky, cheesy with a mild spice. Tropical Smoothie Cafe was one of my favorite places to visit in my JAX days past. I made my first visit to one since coming back to JAX over the weekend and from the moment I stepped in, hearing the loud grinding noises of the mixers, the large crowd inside and the cars at the drive thru, I felt like nothing had changed! It was a joy to see! But the ultimate test would soon come after tasting my favorite smoothie - the açaí berry boost! I practically lived on those a few years ago! Well, I will say here that the employees were very courteous, patient, and saw to it that our needs were met. I was comfortable taking my pics for this review and the smoothie and two other items from our order arrived pretty quickly. I will say that my açaí berry boost was AWESOME! It was balanced and mixed perfectly! (I had protein for an add-in.) There were zero little icees in it. Also, the chicken chipotle flatbread and green dream bowl were certainly just as well-made as the smoothie was. It kind of felt like those times past. I can say that for a large shop, there isn't as much seating area as you would expect. The counter and food prep area take up a lot of space, along with the drive thru slot by the window area opposite the cashier side of the counter. The tables and chairs are all metal, so that may be a hindrance on the comfort side for some. But I can say we were fully impressed and happy with our experience on this day. Always a pleasure. My daughter has gotten into smoothies lately. She seems to be a fan of Tropical Smoothie. She likes the Jetty. I switch my smoothies out since they stopped selling my favorite. (Strawberries and peach) You can never go wrong with the Southwest burrito. It is my all time favorite. We tried the strawberry chia lemonade today. Not too shabby, we will definitely order this one again. Staff is always friendly. Beware though the drive-thru is always insane and the parking situation is not the most desirable. Doesn't matter how many times I order from here online or come here, staff always has an attitude problem, and when I order there's either something missing, or my wrap/flatbreads are loaded in so much dressing or sauce that it spills onto everything else in the bag. Food itself is ok, but the way it's prepared is frustrating because I'm not paying for a literal gross explosion where half the food isn't even in the packaging. Customer service is trash. Yesterday I placed an pre order for a Bahama mama tropic bowl. I picked it up early, it was already sitting out (that should have been a sign). I get it home and it's soupy. My bowl is sour. My husband and I always love a good smoothie and we have tried a ton of places but none of them hit home the way tropical smoothie does! Even my 2 year old son love tropical smoothie and we get him a child size smoothie. On the weekends, when we run errands with our little one we grab a smoothie to go to keep our energy going and our bellies full. These smoothies are the equivalent of a meal. My go to smoothie is "Hawaiian Breeze" which consististe of pineapple and oranges with yogurt. This item is no longer on the menu but my absolute favorite. My husband likes to switch it up between "Mango Magic" which consists of mango, pineapple and orange topped with yogurt or he gets "peaches and silk" which consists of peaches and yogurt. First time trying this place and it must've my new favorite health drink place. I ordered an avocadala for my mom since my dad usually makes a similar smoothie for my mom, and I ordered an Island Green. My smoothie made me feel cleaner and more refreshed and it was good! I've visited this location a couple times now and service usually is below average or average. In the evenings staff are usually not as friendly or friendly at all verses going there in the mornings because there seems to be teen workers there. Maybe they don't like their jobs very much? This very last visit was the first time I remember getting a smile from a worker (cashier). The food is not very good. Items are made to order but they either don't have much taste eventhough it's smothered with sauce or just taste really processed. I do appreciate that they use sustainable packaging for their food items. Wished they would carry that through to their smoothies. I like their smoothies better than the food. I usually get the Island Green. It's surprising sweet and you wouldn't think that looking at the color. Smoothies cost less if you purchased a food item but given I haven't looked anything I've ordered, I dont think I'll take advantage of that deal and just order during happy hours instead. This is fast becoming one of my favorite places to eat. The Chicken Caprese is a must try for anyone who hasn't tried it! The menu has it down as "Grilled chicken, fresh mozzarella, parmesan, tomatoe, pesto, and balsamic glaze, pressed to perfection." And this is where we step in and add, "Amazingly delicious! The combination of flavors in each and every bite will keep you coming back for more!" I have tried the Jerk Chicken Bowl and the Chicken Pesto, and I've been very pleased with how well the meals are put together (they even LOOK tasty!), the speed of service is always right on, and the flavors are too good to describe. We also always get smoothies when we go. I've had the Acai Berry, and one or two others, but the Acai Berry is my favorite. But make no mistake about it... My husband and I usually go to this tropical smoothie and we are usually very satisfied with the service and food. The other day my husband went and got me Tropical Smoothie because I was craving it really bad. When he came back with the food we noticed that they forgot to give us a cookie and receipt. He called and told them politely " hey looks like they forgot to give me the cookie that I ordered and the guy at the drive thru window forgot to give me my receipt" A girl was the one who answered the phone and this is what she said with a low energy voice " he was probably busy If you want to come back and get your potato chips that comes with your meal you can if you want a cookie it will be extra because it doesn't come with the meal" No apology, nothing just "come back and get your stuff we are busy attitude " I have years of customer service experience, I use to work for Disney. I wonder if someone in Disney answered with a low energy voice to a guest like that would Disney be so well known like it is today. I don't think so. Learn some customer service skills. At the end of the day we are PAYING customers a service should come with the food, well that is if you want to be successful in the industry at least. What's worse is it's awkward when you have to tell them if you want to add gratuity at the drive thru.
