Greek tea, looks plain but so tasteful

I love coming get me as they have Moussaka. I brought my sister to have lunch. We ordered their Spanskopita as an appetizer. My sister and I shared two entrees, the Moussaja with rice and lamb souvlaki with rice and grilled vegetables. All was delish. We also shared a regular Greek salad with pita. When we came in at around noon it was not as crowded as when we left. The ambiance is nice as it has table and booth seating in large areas, there's also bar and outdoor seating. It's a nice large restaurant.

Cute restaurant, sat outside on the cupboard patio. Server was very attentive and humorous, but I think they were a bit shorthanded that night. We shared the gyro platter, the garlic fries and the hummus and pita. Yum Yum and Yum. Plenty of food. The garlic fries were crispy. The hummus was very smooth and flavorful. The gyro platter had delicious sides.

You can't go wrong with Troy's! My favorite lunch and dinner spot in Martinez. The food is always fresh and delicious. There's a large selection of seating inside or a cute outdoor patio. I absolutely love the Troy's Greek salad and the Mediterranean platter. My dad says they have the best fries in the county lol. I can't argue with him!

You've got to walk thru the outside tables to get inside. I was worried that no one else seemed to be dining but soon the crowds were walking in. Folks in athletic gear, guys in suits & women in work attire. But I just love Greek food. I knew Troy was in Martinez after seeing it while I was at Shucked The food was delicious and service was amazing. I ordered lentil soup, hot spinach appetizers (I forgot the name!) and Greek fries. No, I did not need the fries! I sat at the comfy front tables. Well lit, delicious foods & staff was on top of things handling the lunch time rush.

Troy might be one of the best restaurants in Martinez. Dude its kinda weird. You walk into this restaurant and just the decor and vibe feels like you aren't in Martinez anymore. It's really nice inside. It almost feels like it could be a restaurant in Walnut Creek or something. Compared to a lot of the restaurants that I've been to so far, it definitely just stands out in the vibe. Service is fantastic too. I've been here a couple of times now and everyone who works here is super friendly. Food is really good overall. However if you love spicy food, this might become your favorite Mediterranean spot. They have two hot sauces that you'll want to put on everything. First is a green hot sauces that is very herby but with a kick. The other is sweet but almost tangy hot sauce. If you get any fries put the sauces on them. If you get a Gyro? Put the sauces on them. I almost wanna say try them even if you aren't into putting hot sauce ln your food. Only because I feel like trying the sauces is actually part of the experience in Troy. You basically aren't having an optimal experience if you aren't trying them. Also. Get a Margarita. The Margaritas we had the first day were stronger than what we are used to. So needless to say, I highly recommend this restaurant.

We decided to come to Troy for our monthly date night because we were going to see a show in Martinez. We arrived and they were busy- but still had patio seating. So we snagged a spot outside, our server was not the friendliest, but there was a lovely young lady who took our order and checked in on us. We ordered 2 gyros and an order of fries. The fries were amazing. Like I could not stop eating them. Our only big complaint was that the food is very salty.

Tried the gyro platter, comes mixed beef and lamb veggies, rice, tzatziki horiatiki salad and pita. I ordered a side of hummus as well. Service was very welcoming, explained menu options and varies sizes of hummus side orders (can get it with pita or without. Ambiance is modern rustic. Warm tones and soft lighting. Food was decent, was expecting more flavor, spices and seasoning, juicy meat. It got the job done bit I've had better at that price point.

Stumbled upon this little gem in Martinez and decided to try. Good choice on a Sunday. We were seated immediately- we chose the bar. The bartender was super sweet and attentive. The menu looked great. I had the beef and The Kid had the lamb platter. They were both delicious. Meat well seasoned, veggies were grilled perfectly and the tzatziki sauce was delicious. The ambiance was chill and open. Well lit and clean. Will definitely be back.

    Choose one. Nice choice.

Juneteenth 2025. 02:02 pm 3.8 stars Parking spots can be slim pickens in downtown Martinez but drive around a bit and you should find a metered spot. The resturaunt is dimly lit and quiet. Easy on the eyes and ears. Troy uses the art on the walls and the employees dress and movements rather than pumped in music to set a nice ambiance. I was pleasantly surprised about the Falafel wrap my wife and I shared. A nice fresh taste and crunch without too much salt or spicyness. They have (what I am told by my Son)- some deliciously spicy green sauce and milder red sauce that my co-diners used liberally on their chicken Shwarma and the Falafel. On our visit these were not offered but had to be asked for. I passed on these today - but next time!. They have decent beer on tap for $7 a pint, when some places have the nerve to charge eight or God forbid nine dollars these days. Our server Yazan had a pleasant demeanor and provided almost perfect service. Our 'to be shared' wrap came cut in half for us. Cut in half for us rather than leaving us with a knife, an extra plate and to our own devices. A couple of negatives. My Son, a former employee at Port Costa's Bull Valley Roadhouse, noted that a wobbly table is a big resturaunt No- No-!. He said "I checked Bull Valley tables daily for wobbles and carried pieces of cork in my pocket for an emergency table fix." Management: This would be Table: 62 Troy has two 'Choose Your Gender' bathrooms that while being far from horrible, could use some cleanup on the soapy gunked up soap dispensers and paper waste strewn around. So to rap it up, three of us got out of there with two beers, a refillable cola, a Falafel wrap, a chicken Shwarma for $53 before tip and enjoyed the food and experience. I'm thinking we will be back to Troy before next Juneteenth.

This evening I was hungry for a Greek meal so I looked up at good ol Yelp to see what was nearby. I've never been to Troys but the parking wasn't too difficult but inside the restaurant was very clean and the service was excellent. Anytime I requested something my server was always accommodating. This is a place I will visit again.

A group of us recently went here for a work lunch. I already knew I like the food, since we have had them cater a few lunches, but eating at the restaurant kicked it up another few notches. The food at this cozy downtown spot was absolutely delicious. The lamb and beef for the gyros were perfectly spiced, and were accompanied by equally exquisite rice, tzatziki and a roasted tomato. We also decidedly to try the dolmades. The grape leaves were tender, and the filling delicious! Service was efficient and friendly.

Lamb Souvlaki Wrap $16 & chang, to go, a la carte. 7". I was h-angry and in a hurry. It was 130. No line, but most of the tables were still taken. Inside was casual but refined. 10 minutes later I'm handed a surprisingly light (for my expectation) brown bag. I'd guesstimate 4 oz of protein. I dug in on the way back to the car. The lamb was flavorful, tender and juicy- that I decided I needed to stop for a photo and write a review. Some of the best I've ever eaten at a restaurant, I'd certainly eat here again. But I'd get a larger portion and eat there.

Casual, affordable, and an easy meal for a weeknight or weekend dinner. This is the same chain as the one in Berkeley with a bit of an older crowd. They're always playing the game and I like how they have a back room that isn't as loud as their main room. Service is fast and attentive, menu is straightforward and food is good overall, just nothing new or super exciting.

To keep it short…read more.. Excellent food. Excellent service. Gluten free options. I will definitely make sure to visit again when I'm in town. -------------- If you want to read my story of how and why I tried this place, read more here: I walked by this place while my car was getting an oil change. They had a sign that said in big letters, "HUNGRY? We can fix that!" Like Winnie the Pooh, I checked in with my stomach and answered yes! I was famished. I had brought my lunch with me but left it in the car while it was getting the oil changed, so I had nothing to nibble on. It was kind of early, maybe 10 AM, and I didn't even think they would be open, but then I realized they did have the sign outside on the sidewalk. I walked by the front door and it opened automatically. My heart started to flutter. So I went to look at their menu online and saw that they had chicken shawarma bowls. I love chicken shawarma. I decided to look them up on Yelp and make sure they had good reviews. I realized that they were a sponsored ad, and that gave me pause. The last time I went to a Middle Eastern restaurant that was sponsored, it was not so great, so I quickly checked the reviews. They have pretty good reviews! One review said that the chicken was dry, but others were more positive. I had a really good feeling, so I ordered it. Another reviewer commented that the rice was so good -- and they're not normally a rice enthusiast -- so when I placed my order, I upgraded my rice from the white rice that comes with the order to the rice infused with turmeric and garbanzo beans. When I opened my order, the bowl was a pretty decent size. If my husband had been with me, we probably would've been able to split it. In my order, I saw: * Seasoned chicken drizzled with shawarma and a delicious white sauce. * Hummus * Tomato cucumber salad * And this yellow turmeric rice I couldn't resist -- the rice was the first thing I tasted, and it was delicious! I can't quite figure out what flavors are in there, but I could taste a hint of cinnamon, and there were definitely other flavors there. The chicken was moist and flavorful. The hummus could very easily be the best hummus I've ever had. I really enjoyed this meal. I really wanted to eat the entire bowl myself but decided to save half of it for my daughter, who I know will also love it. Customer service was excellent. Adam was at the counter and greeted me very warmly. And when I was leaving, they asked me if I wanted hot sauce and then they put that in the bag. Overall, I give this five stars. I love that the food comes in an eco-friendly container. If there's anything that I could change, it's probably that they put it in a plastic bag instead of a paper bag. I try to avoid plastic as much as possible, but the container was quite big and needed to be in a bag while I hiked back to the oil change place. Oh, and before I forget... one of the first things I asked before I ordered is if the shawarma plate was gluten-free, and he assured me that everything in it was unless I was getting pita. And one more fun note -- when I got back to the car place, someone walked in, saw my food, and immediately asked, "Oh, is that from Manakish?" I was pretty impressed they could recognize it just by the look, especially since the restaurant is about half a mile away. Oh...and when i gave it to my daughter...she loved it so it gets two thumbs up!!

The food was flavorful, and they were generous with the amount of meat served. Because of that, I felt they could have included a little more rice to balance the portion, but it's hard to complain about getting plenty of chicken. The service was good and the ordering process was simple. You place your order at the counter and then choose a seat either inside or outside while you wait for your food. The restaurant was clean and comfortable, making for an enjoyable dining experience. I'd definitely come back to try some of their other menu items in the future.

And then everything just... felt right. The music immediately set the tone. The way they said hello. The way they took our order. The way they talked with us. There was a warmth in the room that you could feel right away. At one point, they all stopped to sing happy birthday to one of their staff members. Instead of feeling like we were watching someone else's moment, we somehow felt included in it. They even shared a slice of cake with us. My husband started speaking Kurdish with them. He speaks Sorani and they spoke Kurmanji, so they communicated however they could, in Kurdish, in English, and with lots of smiles and laughter in between. Watching him connect with people who made him feel at home was really special. Then came the tea and kunafa, which were absolutely incredible. We hugged them, took a photo together, and by the end of the night, it felt like we'd known them for years when we'd only just met. I left feeling warm and loved. My husband left feeling nostalgic. We both left feeling restored. There's something really beautiful about sharing cultural food and hospitality. Sometimes you walk into a restaurant looking for dinner and end up finding something you didn't even realize you needed. For me, it felt like I got to witness a little piece of my husband's family and culture right here in California. And somehow, by the end of the night, it felt like a little bit of ours too. We still talk about Ciya often, and honestly, we're already talking about having them cater a future family gathering
