Had dinner here tonite and was very disappointed that their new menu did not include their delicious chopped salad that I got there all the time previously. We eat here frequently and always enjoy our food and service. We shared the edamame dumplings which were delicious as always. I had the kale salad in place of the chopped, while it was good with added grilled chicken, it didn't hold a candle to the chopped salad. Please bring the chopped salad back!! Oh and also, we eat outside at this restaurant a lot, it's time they started to replace the outdoor bench seating, they are starting to looked very stained and tattered and that isn't a good look for the restaurant. read more

I was excited to try this restaurant due to the healthy choices on the menu. I attended with a large group for a work event. They were very accommodating to our large group, which we really appreciated. Food: For appetizers, we ordered four orders of the edamame dumplings. Three orders came with four dumplings in each. After asking, the fourth order came and only had two dumplings in it. The dumplings were good but there was not consistency with the amounts, leaving some of our party without. Several ordered the sea bass only to be told they were out of sea bass. I ordered a burger, which was not cooked fully and was disappointing. I was really excited to try a healthy restaurant in Boca, but unfortunately True Food just didn't do it for me. Even though the hostess was super nice, it took a long time for the server to come to my table. To be fair my server ended up apologizing and saying that there was a change in shift. However, I still felt like the wait was too long. For the food, I ended up ordering the colada which was refreshing. For starters I ordered the dumplings, which was different and very tasty. I ordered the Panang curry chicken as my main course and that didn't taste good to me at all. Both the chicken and the curry tasted very bland. Eating out all the time can be hard on the wallet and the waist line. Founded by Dr. Andrew Weil, True Food's Menu is based on an anti inflammatory diet. The philosophy (in a nutshell) at True food is that food should make you feel better and taste good at the same time. I have dined at True food three times and by and large I have enjoyed myself. There is indoor and outdoor seating. If you dine in the patio you overlook the mall's parking lot, but it can still be pleasant to be outside in cooler weather. The inside is uniquely decorated with lots of green including plants on the walls. Be warned that the inside dining room can get very noisy. The menu has a large variety of items including egg dishes, pizzas, sandwiches, and entrees. Favorite items of mine include the Charred Cauliflower and Roasted Brussel Sprouts to start. My 14 year old son adores the Panang Curry with Beef. He says despite being "healthier" it really stands up to his favorite Thai versions. I did not feel the same way about the Dashi Ramen. The broth tasted salty as opposed to rich and flavorful. Plus it was served lukewarm. I did enjoy the Ancient Grains Bowl: Miso glazed sweet potato, charred onion, snow pea, avocado, grilled portobello, hemp seed, turmeric. This Ancient Grains Bowl is simple yet the mesh of flavors and textures works. The dish is also very filling. Servers are happy to discuss the menu and always have lots of suggestions. Look, is it the best tasting food ever? Not really. But it is still nice to have a restaurant for healthier options. 1/12/2019- When you can't make up your mind because everything on the menu you want, that's a good restaurant!!!! They serve vegan, vegetarian and gluten friendly meals. Their simple belief is that food should make you feel better, not worse. They are founded on the principles on an inflammatory diet by Dr. Andrew Weil. The restaurant inside is absolutely gorgeous. It's like your walking into a garden. They have an open-concept kitchen. Our server, Camila, was absolutely wonderful. She was everything you want in a server. Friendly, knowledgeable, gave great recommendations and was always checking up on us. We started with the Charred Cauliflower, harissa tahini, medjool date, dill, mint, pistachio. OH MY! they were delicious, we just couldn't get enough; the flavors were outstanding. For the entrees, we ordered the DASHI RAMEN w/ chicken, sweet potato glass noodle, bok choy, grilled portobello, charred onion, radish, edamame, black bean, sesame chili oil and the SPICY PANANG CURRY w/ shrimp, sweet potato, pole bean, bok choy, carrot, thai basil, coconut shrimp broth. The protein are add-ons. All the ingredients were fresh!. For dessert, Camila recommended the gluten free, Squash Pie, graham crust, made in house coconut whipped cream. Why aren't there 6 stars available? They deserve it. Mom (she's 87) wanted a salad for lunch, she told me about the deli nearby, a 40-year-old establishment catering to the locals who like the earlier or earliest bird specials, and I've been there before, not the most exciting place. So I thought I would check in with all of you guys, here on Yelp and see what you thought. I was immediately drawn to the True Food Kitchen. Who doesn't like True Food? But look at that menu... From burgers to vegan, this place is like an insanosylum for veggies! Weird and wonderful combinations of stuff you've feed rabbits, now combined in Frankenstein bowls of incredible flavors. That's my word, not theirs, so do go in asking for the Frankenstein bowl, who knows what you might get? I had the immunity bowl - Frankenstein for sure: lion's mane mushroom, farro, quinoa, carrot, broccolini, garbanzo bean, edamame, organic kale, garlic broth. In a huge serving blowing my taste buds out the sides. "Mitch, slow down, no one's taking your food away from you..." Always Mom, what can I say. I just couldn't help it. It was sooooo good. We ate outside but inside wasn't crowded... yet. But it will be, now that we are coming out of this crazy micro-chipped, vaccine enabled, plandemic, lots more people are going to come here. Mom has the Teriyaki Quinoa Bowl: broccoli, rainbow carrot, bok choy, green bean, snap pea, mushroom, brown rice, avocado, toasted sesame She looked at the bowl when they delivered it to the table and said, "I'm taking half of this home for sure." I'm loving eating super healthy since August (with my occasional cheat days), so this restaurant was bookmarked by me for awhile. This location of True Food Kitchen is located in Boca Mall. I absolutely love the concept of good salads, bowls, entrees and you can modify any dish you order. They have restaurant locations in many states. After shopping with my pumpkin Farea, we had a quick bite to eat here. Except for the quick bite became really time consuming. That's the only negative thing about my dining experience here. The service was painfully slow. The server brought our drinks after we got our food etc. The food: We ordered the dashi ramen bowls. It was amazing and the best thing for my sore face. I had gotten a extensive dental procedure done a few hours prior to eating here, and the warm ramen broth helped so much. My friend and I ordered vegetarian options since we both were just craving some good veggies, and we were able to eliminate the ones we didn't want. The seating is very nice with indoor and outdoor availability. The restaurant is beautifully designed and worth a visit if you want some clean eats. This review is a take out order, I ordered the the Mediterranean Wrap, it is a Vegan menu item. I always enjoy the food here, but that item needs to go off the menu. It hardly had anything in it. Just a big thick dry wrap around a little greens and a few small pieces of vegtables. It was suppose to have hummus on it. It was maybe a table spoon worth. I threw most of it away. More like 3 1/2 stars. For vegans and vegetarians and the like, you will love this place. It was good, but just a bit too "healthy" for me. I absolutely dislike kale and it's everywhere! Most dishes came with a choice of sides and kale salad was one of the two choices. I got the sweet potato hash -- the only other choice -- which turned out to be diced sweet potatoes with fried onions. My portion was served cold (it's supposed to be hot -- I found out later after I asked), but as I do like sweet potatoes almost any way, I just picked out the onions and ate the cold potatoes. So if you are into health food, don't go by my review. However if you're more of an omnivore or carnivore, here's my take. They actually have meat -- and you can add steak or chicken or shrimp to any salad. They have a regular burger -- of course it's grass fed -- and a chicken sandwich or if you're being sensitive to your fellow diners, try a fish taco or a turkey burger. You won't starve here, you just need to read the menu closely through all the kale and quinoa. I had their turkey burger. It was decent. It came with a schmear of guacamole on the seeded bun. I scraped it off the bun and put it on the burger. I gave my bread to my husband. I also gave him my jalapeño remoulade sauce. There also was a slice of tomato and some Boston lettuce on the plate along with the above mentioned sweet potato hash. The burger was hot; the potatoes cold. My husband had their hummus plate. It had a few veggies in the middle. A small plate came on the side with a few wedges of hard flat pita style crackers. He was able to take my bun and add some of my lettuce and remoulade sauce to make a partial sandwich. The best part of the lunch? Their honey lemonade. Icey cold and refreshing. And it's not cheap to eat "healthy"... I'm still glad I came here. I've been reading about the restaurant. Now I know it's not my kind of place, but I'll have a suggestion for my vegetarian girlfriends. It was packed at lunch time with locals and mall workers. I was referred to true Food kitchen, because of the possibility there were vegan options on the menu. And yes, they have vegan options however, everything has oil in it. I asked for my sides which included potatoes without any oil on it, but they said they can't do that. There's oil in the veggie burgers which were very delicious. If they could just figure out a way to leave the oil out. That would be great. Most vegans do not wantfood loaded with oil and most likely allergic to animal fats or have health conditions or are extremely health conscious. That being said, I had to give in and eat food that I am allergic to in order to have a meal. I write this review to raise awareness about vegan options on the menu. If they could tweak the vegan options, they would absolutely get a five star from me. They tried really hard to accommodate me, but evidently the chef said they cannot make anything without oil. I'm a chef and I know how to make a lot of foods without oil. You can sauté potatoes without oil use vegetable broth or wine! Anyway, the veggie burger is almost perfect if they could just leave the oil out! It's actually the best one I've had in any establishment. Please don't be offended by this review. What a beautiful place! Located in Town Center at Boca Raton, True Food Kitchen is a great place to dine alone or with friends. Yesterday we celebrated Amy S.' birthday with a lovely brunch, great food and drinks, and conversations that kept the celebration going. It's always a pleasure hanging out with other Yelpies who love food as much as I do! This was my first visit to True Food and I gotta tell ya, I was thoroughly impressed. Upon arrival my husband and I were greeted with smiles and inviting welcomes by the two attendants standing by the door. We told them what party we were there for and they seated us right away. I love the decor. It's a mixture between modern and retro. It's brightly lit, with plenty of seating options either at boothe's or table or even at the bar. I ordered the Grilled Salmon that came with, smoked onion farro, arugula, roasted beet, cilantro pumpkin seed pesto. This dish has a lot of flavor and wasn't heavy for brunch at all. I also ordered a carafe of Rosé which was so yummy. I felt the flavors burst on my tongue almost immediately. This drink paired well with my salmon. My husband enjoyed his dish as well, but did return his eggs to have them re-fried. It was a little too on the sunny side up for him. He ordered the Sunrise Bowl, Kale Aid, and a Cinnamon Vanilla Latte. The menu is extensive and would satisfy any vegan or vegetarians appetite. They have really good juices, I usually go with the medicine man or a good latte. They have a ton of different food options to cater to everyone's diet. I love their Mediterranean salad and the ancient grains with tofu mmm. The service is taken care of by young college students. Could sometimes be a little more attentive but nothing major. This restaurant offers sit down with tables that are at a safe distance from each other. The menu is filled with healthy choices and quite a few options too. I got the turkey burger and it was just okay. The patty was microwaved unfortunately. When it came out it was boiling hot and the bottom bread was damp because of the steam. It did taste fine though, would recommend getting a side of pesto sauce for it. The sweet hash on the side was very good. Would recommend adding more spices to it though. My mom got the ancient bowl which was DELICIOUS! Took my husband to True Food For our weekly Date Night. Being long time customers (since Manfred was manager) we expected the delicious food we were always accustomed to. NOT!! The food was less than subpar. My edamame dumplings were delicious UNTIL I found a piece of plastic in them. The Butternut Squash soup didn't have any taste of Butternut Squash and was thin. Our entrees arrived and seemed perfect. WRONG AGAIN!! My spaghetti squash casserole was delicious but my husband's chicken and grains entree came out cold and had to be returned. When it came out the second time the chicken was delicious but the grains were still cold. On a positive note, Diego, our server, was AMAZING. Emma, the manager, was very accommodating and obviously upset with our dining experience. What used to be a 5 star review is now a 3 star. The only reasons it isn't a 1 star is due to Diego and Emma. Three hostesses, at least three floor managers, and at least 25 undergrad servers that I could see, but long wait for drinks, long wait to order, long wait for food (place was half empty, btw) and during our meal we got exactly one "Is everything GREAT?" fly-by, no wait for response, no water, forgot to pick up the check, though really great at rudely picking up plates across the table while people were still eating...really poor service with a smile. Place is simply pretending to be more than it is, and falls very short while asking for too much $$. Might as well get a kale salad at CCF and actually be happy. read more

This was my first visit and I was so impressed. Not only do they still have a very nice and varied menu post-Covid, but they're being very conscious of social distancing and wearing masks. We split the turkey burger with sweet potato hash and the multi-grain salad. We also both ordered the watermelon mojito. Yum! So fresh and interesting. The pesto dressing was so delicious and the snap peas added a nice crisp crunch. Loved everything we ordered and thought the meals on nearby tables all looked appetizing too. I love True Food Kitchen, I've been to many locations- Chicago, Virginia, Northern California, Southern California, and I'm looking forward to the one they are building closer to me in NJ. The service in the Boca Raton location was very friendly, I sat at the bar and the bartenders were attentive and outgoing. I received my food and drink quickly and the ambiance was clean and very natural, like all True Food restaurants. Where it lost a star was with some of the food items. I ordered the Hangover Rx for my beverage, this is one of my favorites but it tasted a little watered down compared to the other times I've had it. It was happy hour so I ordered the herb hummus for $5 - great value!! It was made just as well as I've ever had it, it's well made hummus with fresh Greek veggies and feta in the middle, so delicious. My one complaint, and this is with all the locations, I never feel like the amount of pitas is proportionate to the amount of hummus! I had a lot of hummus left after finishing the pitas. For my meal I got the grass-fed steak tacos, one of my favorite dishes. The tacos were perfect, the tomatillo salsa and pickled jicama cut the steak perfectly making a super yummy and unique tasting taco. The coconut lime crema that comes with it tasted mostly just like coconut, not really any lime and had a few chunks in it, which was just hardened coconut but I feel like it wasn't the right consistency to be a "crema". Anyways we came here early evening and there was almost a wait. Well there was a wait if we wanted to sit outside, but inside there were still very little tables open. I ordered the grass fed burger which came with cheese, mushroom, kale, arugula, umami, caramelized onions on a flax seed bun (very good and healthy!!) it comes with a choice of kale salad or sweet potato hash. But I was like there's already kale in my burger so I went with the hash (vegan) , which weren't really that bad. Another notable item is the chips and kale guac which would be a good starter if it came out before the actual food. Best thing ever!! Would give this place a 5 star because the quality, scenery and feel is really top of the line... but had a few concerns. Chef side ( the sweet potato hash came out very cold and hard to eat, friend had to tell the manager to get it fixed. But I was thinking unless that's how they are supposed to be. But the manager reinforced it and said yeah they aren't supposed to be cold at all) server side ( dont know if it was the server or chef but when someone asks not to have something in their meal and you say you can do it.... then it should come out to your specifications) also it took awhile to get the card back from the server after he picked it up...
