A year later and the situation at true food has only declined. The food is small portioned, bland, and over priced. I totally get their concept. Clean eating, seasonal, farm to table etc. I don't get the idea of spending big bucks on tasteless food. A couple friends and I came for brunch. We ordered the roasted brussels sprouts and the edamame raviolis to share. The raviolis were actually really good but 4 of them for 10 bucks is pretty steep. I ordered the garden scramble with sausage ($14) and it came out lukewarm at best. It was also lacking pretty much any flavor. I had to ask 3 different people for hot sauce as our server was no where to be found. I ordered a pineapple orange mimosa ($11) and it was the tiniest mimosa of all time. For a couple more bucks I can get bottomless at 50 different places. Overall we all left pretty much annoyed we dropped a bunch of cash to remain hungry. After two chances I'm done. read more

I'd call my experience average to slightly below average. While the restaurant is lovely and the staff were friendly, that's not enough for a perfect experience. We shared edamame dumplings. I thought the presentation was great but I wasn't expecting them to be cold. Perhaps this is my error since they involve edamame, but it wasn't stated on the menu. One of the specials was cauliflower curry soup, so I ordered that with a kale salad. I was eating my salad and it was okay, but it was just so... plain. It said it would have some grana padano and breadcrumbs, but it was minimal. My soup? Well, I can't comment on it because it never came out. It sure sounded good. My girlfriend and I have dined here a few times and I am never disappointed! Every time I visit the Boca mall I always find myself here afterwards. This place has great tasty options for healthier foods and cocktails. We love the vegan Butternut squash pizza and aren't even vegan! I just looked on their menu and realized they took it off and replaced it with a spinach and mushroom...sad. Hopefully it's a seasonal thing and it will be back soon. We also enjoy the Chopped Salad-- the manchego, jicama and farro with the champagne vinaigrette really top it off for me. I want to be obsessed with this place so much because I find the menu to be completely flawless. I'm giving them 3 stars for INCONSISTENCY. With regards to staff, you'll either get someone who you want to be friends with in the real world because they're so FUN and attentive and kind, or you'll get someone who completely ignores you. Based off of 3 experiences, I've had both types of staff members. Food wise, when it's good... it's really good. I'd had a lot of the menu items. The panang curry flawless. The cashew pad Thai is also incredibly flavorful. The edamame dumplings are amazing but you have to love truffle. The kale guac is flavorless, which I'm not sure how they managed to do that. Absolutely no flavor notes whatsoever, nobody touched it. It was very pretty though. Poke and ancient grains bowls were okay. I wouldn't drive all the way to True Food for them, but I was disappointed. The Asian noodle salad was drenched in almond dressing and I couldn't finish it (haven't had an almond since). While we're on the topic of inconsistencies - the flourless chocolate cake. The first time I came, it was one of the best bites I've had in SFL. The second time I came, I craved it.... only for it too arrive BURNT (actually charred at the top), dry, and tasteless. Ice cream was half melted since our waiter obviously left it up at the pass. Inconsistent. Will I go back? Yes, if a group is going and we have some GF or vegan members we need to please. Will I spend another $200 to enjoy half of what's brought to the table? No. read more

I am amazed at this establishment. Forget about ANY of the bad reviews you've read. It's FIVE star worthy! The vegan choices here were amazing. Being it's Fall season they of course entrees that were aimed for those who want to partake..and yes I was one of many! I had the butternut squash pizza with almond ricotta on a flax and wheat crust. Delicious and highly recommend. Also ordered the Inside out quinoa burger which was delightful. Desserts were the chocolate flourless cake served with a Coconut "ice cream ". No I didn't eat all of this alone my partner and I split everything and had a doggy back to bring home for lunch! Our server was Brian and the manager Buu. Both outstanding and truly know how to cater to their guests to make very welcome. The restaurant is located next to the Gran Lux and was extremely neat and clean. Perfect for large groups. Inside and outside dining available. Alcohol and wine served. I would say on the casual side for dining but it is Boca Raton so my casual is a bit more lacked then some. ;) If your looking to explore new dining places and expand your taste buds this is a must try! I really like the look, feel and menu at True Food, but unfortunately the food doesn't like me. I am eat a Gluten free diet due to an allergy and despite always ordering items marked as GF, I always have a Gluten reaction to their food. I suspect either it is heavily cross contaminated in the kitchen or somebody making the menus doesn't really know which items contain Gluten. On my last visit I ate a salad containing Blue Cheese. Blue Cheese made traditionally contains Gluten. The "modern" method does not. I suspect they used the former not the latter. read more

On our last trip to Florida, my family came here for the first time ever. That same trip, we also came for our second, third, and fourth times ever. And we were only there for five days. I enjoy coming to True Food Kitchen at Boca Raton, Fl for food that is both delicious and healthy as well as for exceptional service (would be 5 stars) It's disconcerting, then, that the only sweeteners available for tea are sugar and Truvia. Truvia, as a sugar substitute, lists erythritol as its first ingredient (not Stevia!). Truvia has a disagreeable taste because of the erythritol, not found in pure Stevia sweeteners. And there is some research suggesting negative side effects of consuming erythritol. Though inconvenient, I'll bring in my Stevia sweetener. (4 stars). read more

The ancient grain bowl is a combo of quinoa, faro, and brown rice topped with grilled onion, portabella mushrooms, snow peas, avocado, and sweet potato with a pesto sauce. I have a gluten allergy and I eat mostly vegan so it's nice to be able to get a vegan gluten free pizza. They also have fantastic desserts! True Food has both cheeseburgers and vegan food, so great options for a diverse group of people. The outdoor seating is pleasant but noisy due to valet mall parking adjacent. Dogs are allowed on the patio. Service is friendly and attentive. I was disappointed in the chopped salad because it was not chopped. It was a standard mixed greens (with usual intact leaves looking like the type you get in bags at Publix) there were some sliced (not cubed and chopped) apples and then a small bit of cubed cheese and jicama. Not a terrible salad but a terrible chopped salad. Cheeseburger was good and the roasted Brussels sprouts were delicious. The tea with ginger was also amazing. Wow. So bad. My second visit. The first was for dinner and it was fine. This time was brunch items. The avocado toast was like concrete. It couldn't be cut with a steak knife. Either over toasted or old, stale bread. The typical egg breakfast was all overcooked, each dry item just lying on the plate next to the other ones. No garnish, nothing interesting. It's hard to ruin breakfast food, but they did it. Server was attentive, but didn't offer to bring another order - and didn't seem surprised that it was so bad. Ambience was fine - loud like most places, so no demerit for them on that front. read more

Seriously one of the most delicious vegan/fresh/organic meals I've ever had. This was a very far drive for us, so when we were in the are I definitely made it a point to stop. This places has a seasonal menu, so depending on your visit you may see different dishes available. My husband had the grass feed beef burger that looked absolutely delicious, I stuck to the teriyaki bowl with tofu, quinoa, avocado and broccoli. The hungover rx juice was super refreshing too with a little bit of pineapple, coconut, honey and a few other freshly squeezed ingredients. To say I really love this new (ok, new to me) restaurant is putting it mildly. This is my second visit (2 locations) in one week. First, let me preface this review with the fact that it was just after 5pm on a Friday night... still quiet but filling as our meal progressed. On entry to the Boca location, I was immediately struck by the open, clean lines with the feel of a very natural, inviting dining room back through the bar and into the kitchen. No walls to hide anything here. We were immediately greeted by the 2 ladies at the hostess station. Very friendly and ready to start our experience. They seated us quickly with menus in hand. It didn't take long for Jonathan to come over to greet us and ask for drink orders. I asked about the Happy Hour menu which I remembered from my Naples visit last week. He told me they don't have Happy Hour for the first 6 months a location is open...they're at 5 months so I will be checking back for this. I remember it being worthwhile. Ok, not as happy as I want to be on a Friday night. I did decide to try the Thai Grapefruit Martini (at full price) :-( It was fantastic! It was soon time to order and I had a very difficult decision to make. You see, the menu has so many choices that sound great to me. Do I repeat the Spicy Panang Curry... or something new? I did finally chose the Cashew Pad Thai with shrimp. OMG, another delicious meal. This was a very generous serving of noodles and veggies with 5 large shrimp. The sauce was perfect! Another winner. I do love that they don't "kill" veggies. Now it's my daughters turn to order. She is on a limited, special diet so none of the menu items worked. She knew she was having grilled chicken but her list of "allowed" veggies is limited and no sauce or oils. Jonathan made some suggestions from the available options in their kitchen. A choice was made and when it arrived, it was beautiful... and again, delicious. We enjoyed our meals so much and Jonathan repeatedly checked on us to be sure there was nothing else he could do. While in Boca with family and friends on 7/1/2023 we went to the True Food Kitchen off Glades rd. When I decided to order the OG Burger, I told our server, ( who by the way was very good), that I had and allergy to nuts and seeds and that I could not have the burger on a seeded bun, so he suggested the gluten free bun. I also ordered a lemon-aid drink, no ice, as I always do EVEN with my water. When my order arrived, the bun was somewhat dried and tasteless. So, I ate the burger without the bread. When the lemon aid came it was in a small glass and filled to about 3/4 of an inch below the rim, and then I noticed that the other lemon aides that had ice, came in a taller glass. Also in the glass was a very thin slice of lemon, that seemed to have trouble staying together it was so thin, and the taste of the drink was nothing like what I have been used to. So here is my complaint. I immediately resented the fact that the restaurant compensated for lack of ice, by giving me a smaller glass. First time in over 30 years that a restaurant did that to me. Very, very cheap. And then to make matters worse, when the bill came, I saw a ridiculous up charge for the Gluten Free Bun. If I had taken the burger without a bun, would the restaurant have reduced the cost by the upcharge amount? Don't think so. Very cheap business ethic. PS. Regarding the cost of the lemon aid drink, that was so out of sorts and with no unlimited refills, that just added to the displeasure of my entire dining experience. My first time at this restaurant- referred by a friend. Love the atmosphere and ambience. A very healthy & tasty menu of items to choose from as well as beverages, even cocktails! We started with the Kale guacamole which was fantastic! Then the Charred Broccoli which has harissa tahini, medjool date, dill, mint, pistachio. Definitely a favorite! The Citrus Skinny Margarita and Wild Orchid (lemon-infused vodka, blueberry, lavender) cocktails were very refreshing and not too sweet. The main entree was Moroccan chicken (mission fig, heirloom carrot, chickpea, olive, spinach, chermoula, greek yogurt). Everything was very tasty and although feeling didn't feel heavy at all! Good local bowls you feel good about after eating. Also the dishes are part of an anti-inflammatory diet. Fresh ingredient Menu changes with the season. All good! I had the ancient grains. Miso glazed sweet potato, turmeric, charred onion, snow peas, grilled portobello, avocado and hemp seed. Was all good. Mushrooms cooked just right and tender although a little kore frill flavor would've been great. Good mix of flavors. I gobbled this right up. After traveling all morning and afternoon this wasn't quite enough for me for a 3 pm lunch. Probably should've added some protein. If I lived nearby would definitely be a regular stop. It was our first time here, and as we got closer to the location we were a bit lost, so I called to ask for directions, and I could barely hear the person on the phone because of the background noise. She just said that they are at the entrance of the mall and once I see the yellow umbrellas I will find the location. I told her it was my first time at the place and that I was a bit confused with those directions since I am not from the area and she did not provide better landmarks. She repeated the same directions and I just thanked her and hung up. After circling the area, we eventually found it. The waitstaff was very friendly and helpful. We were told about the seasonal menu and how entrees change throughout the year based on what is in season. It's a casual and open atmosphere. Since it has very high ceilings the noise in the restaurant tends to travel, and it can get quite loud. We ordered a Watermelon Lemonade which was a great combination of sweet and tangy and a Farmers Market Sangria which was served with delicious fresh fruits. Both drinks were very refreshing. For our entrees, we ordered the T.L.T. (vegan option) which has smoked tempeh, butter lettuce, tomato, avocado, vegan mayonnaise, seeded grain bread and the Margherita pizza which has organic tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, and basil. All of the ingredients used where fresh and flavorful. For dessert, we chose Summer Berries (vegan option) and Flourless Chocolate cake both incredibly delicious.
