They've got fruit-flavored water for guests waiting to be seated. And on a Friday night, our party of 4 had no problem getting seated for an early dinner. We got: Wild Tuna Ceviche Tostada Appetizer - I liked this appetizer and the "kick" it had, but would've liked more "tostada" to go with the ceviche portion as we ran out. The sauce was a bit heavy on the mayo side. Margherita Pizza was good but not piping hot and more on the warm side. Chopped Salad with Salmon - the salad was good. He got the "dreads" left over fried fries; perhaps because it was already 8 pm. We pointed this out to our server and she offered chips. In our experience with well run restaurant, they would comp this. It was not a huge amount, $2.00 but it is the sentiment. She DID NOT. We still left a tip because we know how hard servers work. - I ordered the Poke tuna bowl, did not know selecting 6 ounces would add a price bump but since the last one was good I thought why not, more protein. WRONG! I got pieces that had the stringy/tendon like pieces and it took time to floss that out. I really love coming into this restaurant. The staff is always friendly and typically very helpful. The menu has creative and interesting things to try. I always leave feeling like I had a mostly healthy meal. I've enjoyed some items off of the wine list and overall, I really enjoy the ambience in this restaurant. I've now been to this True Food multiple times. The food is consistently healthy and still tastes good. I actually left today and said "man I feel much better following a meal here more than a lot of other places". The ingredients are fresh and very healthy, which was a great choice for the day following New Year's Day. Our server was very nice, but went missing for a while when we were looking for refills. It wasn't anything that was super frustrating, but I couldn't give this place 5 stars based on that. On a previous visit it was similar too. Keeping drinks full when the guests are waiting in the food will keep people much happier and potentially boost your tip! True Foods remains to be one of our favorite restaurants. We had the Brussels sprouts and butternut squash soup as an appetizer. Beyond delicious and then on to both of the grass fed burger options - again delicious. Icing on the cake was our waitress Haley. She was warm, good energy and provided us with great recommendations (the Brussel sprouts and my husband's mule). Went here for a team retreat event and everything was really good. The place is conveniently located in Rio. Very spacious inside with plenty of seats. I requested for a private room which they provided. It was a nice room and can accommodate about 10 people comfortably. Staff was very nice as well. We came 10 minutes before opening but they were able to let us in. I ordered the spicy panang curry with chicken and it was so tasty. It wasn't spicy though. Great waitress but my dish was terrible. I had the Mediterranean Salad with Jammy Eggs onthe brunch menu. The texture was basically mushy throughout. Way too creamy not enough other textures. The manager on shift came out and apologized that it got a little over cooked, but I'm not one to turn down something just because it became medium well instead of medium. First, Hailey was our waitress and she did a wonderful job. Our family of 6 came to the restaurant today at what I would guess was their peak time, there was probably about 80-90 people there. I say this because after ordering, it took roughly :30 to receive our food. With that amount of people, I think that was a good time. We drove :35 minutes to go there because we are all plant based, gluten free and seed oil free so we greatly appreciate a restaurant with these options. Everything is not Vegan but they have a good amount of choices. We received a large order of fry's which tasted old and cold.... Hailey jumped on the issue and got us a new batch. " Thank you again". Three of us ordered the Plant Based Double Cheeseburger. I have been plant based for over 30 years now and have not met a walnut burger that I have liked... until today.
