The side car was bit strong but delicious and the Oaxacan Anticuado was a great play on an old fashioned. Charley's is known for their whisky cocktails so it was nice to experience a great drink that was not whisky. For appetizers we ordered a dozen of the half shell oysters. 6 of them were sweet and the remaining oysters were a little salty. I really enjoyed the sweet oysters. It was my first time tasting sweet oysters. They were prepared correctly and very enjoyable. For our entrees we ordered the catch of the day which was Halibat Fish with spinach and The grilled Za'tar crusted salmon with a loaded baked potato. Both of the fish were cooked to perfection and had great flavors. Overall, it was a great experience. They offer many seafood options. The red flags started early: the staff mentioned a recent menu change but knew nothing about it, and spent most of their time loitering and joking around. When the food arrived, the presentation was poor, and the taste was extremely below average. Paying a premium price for this quality is unacceptable. This was apparently their second menu since a recent remodel, but if things don't change, they won't last. Message to ownership: shut it down, fire the executive chef, and start over.

I took a picture of my receipt since it was a business lunch. I later found the server had added $5 to her tip, according to the credit card report. When I called to get it reversed, the manager tried to defend her and explain math that didn't work as an accident and then that the receipt she could see looked like there were more digits on my tip, which would have been $10 extra and not five. Eventually she reversed just the tip to zero. Cannot recommend this restaurant anymore based on server behavior and management response.

The establishment is always busy, but the entire staff is always on point. It's hard to recommend a dish when they're all excellent, but the Ahi tuna, drunken shrimp, and homemade meatballs are standouts. Every dish has one thing in common: excellent flavor. Unfortunately, what should have been a special celebration turned into a very disappointing experience due to the service we received upon arrival. We had a reservation for 4:00 p.m. When we arrived, the gentleman at the host stand was not welcoming or friendly. He simply told us to "step to the side" and that someone would assist us in a few minutes. As the minutes passed, we continued to wait without any communication. During that time, a white family of five walked in without a reservation and was seated immediately. At that point, I approached the host stand to ask what had happened and why we had not been seated despite having a reservation. The host searched for our reservation, asked what time it was scheduled for, and then casually stated, "I think someone stole your table." I was shocked by this response. I asked how that could happen if he was responsible for managing the seating. He had no explanation and, more importantly, never offered an apology for the mistake or the inconvenience. A manager later came over and asked what had happened. After I explained the situation, he appeared genuinely surprised and concerned by what had occurred. Once we were finally seated, our server acknowledged the delay and kindly offered us an appetizer because of the long wait at the front. We appreciated that gesture, but it did not change how unwelcome we had been made to feel upon arrival. I am writing this letter not because I am looking for compensation or anything in return. My purpose is simply to ensure that no other family has a similar experience, especially on a day meant to celebrate loved ones. Every guest deserves to be treated with fairness, courtesy, and respect. A sincere apology from the host at the time of the incident would have gone a long way. I hope you will use this feedback as an opportunity to coach your front-of-house staff on the importance of customer service, communication, and accountability.
