We begin with the edamame guacamole, imo it was just ok. 4 of the 6 in my party liked it. But I would say they're healthier eaters. It came with umami crackers. For my main I ordered the grilled Korean Steak, medium well. It was cooked fairly decently. It was juicy and tender. It had a little spice too it though. A little after kick. Not particularly hot, but definitely unexpected. And the other dish I sampled was the smoked gouda turkey burger on gluten free bread, I just tried the burger. Everything was just ok. Came to oakbrook to work out at lifetime and stumbled upon this place driving by. It's very clean and the host was nice but the service provided was horrible. I had to keep asking other staff memebers for refills and utensils. The food was 5 stars but when u have to wait 10 minutes for a water or another knife was a huge disappointment. The space is huge with outdoor seating in the mall, which is nice. Good selection of vegetarian vegan and glute free options. Also, having a calorie count for the food is really helpful. I tried edamamme dumpling really well. It is dumpling in a soup that warms you up. Main course pesto pasta, which is filling but not enough sauce for my taste. My server was always in a rush hard to catch him. For the drink, he said pink lemonade was sweet, but it was completely opposite very tart. We first walked in and noticed that the restaurant was not that busy. The patio was fairly full. Most of the staff looked extremely young. We were met with our server. I would not say we were greeted because she did not greet us. She looked bored unenthused and aggravated that she actually had a customer which was my wife and myself. We get the same drinks everywhere we go Arnold Palmer's any glass of water. She walked away and we were able to look around and enjoy the patio, which I thought was extremely nice it definite plus and good addition to the restaurant I began to get into conversation with my wife And noticed that it has been some time since we have received their drinks. It was over 15 minutes again. I'd like to state that restaurant was not busy. It was about the time that I noticed how long we were waiting that our server came and dropped our Arnold Palmer off with no water. She asked if we were ready to order. I told her yes I went with a Poké bowl and my wife did the same but with chicken, I then asked her. Can we please get some waters? She told us that she would get them. The waters never came. I noticed that there was a table sitting next to us that had a arrive before we did. She also was taking care of this table. She never spoke with them which now must have been close to 25 to 30 minutes it was appalling. I could see that this table was extremely agitated. While we were still waiting for anything to arrive to our table, a family arrived with a dog. I'm sorry, but I think it is not a place in any restaurant no matter if it's a service animal or not to bring a dog that will be sniffing around my food tables were some close together, and the dog was right by my foot. As if this was something out of a Monty Python skit, the waitresses ran with the a newfound energy to bring this dog, a bowl of water and a bowl to put his food in. I could do nothing but laugh myself and see that patrons are waiting to be served or even greeted but they are jumping over each other to bring a dog better service than humans. Our food arrives to our table, not from our waitress, but from some other food runner he asked is there anything else that we can get us? I said I'd like some water and a refill of our Arnold Palmer's. He said he would get our server. My dish was completely laughable. We're talking about a Poké bowl that is around $30 and the portion was 80% spinach leaves hardly no rice hardly any tuna. I could've grabbed the entire amount and put it into my hand. That's how small it was. My wife dish did not look much better, but she did have more food. There was literally nothing special about the flavors. Everything was some bland. I got much better Poké bowl at a Poké Brothers or I would spend not even one third of the price of this. Our drinks never came tables with patrons sat with no service. I Could not keep my mouth shut any longer. I saw would look to be a manager and I was correct. It was a young lady. I told her this was an awful experience. I told her that we still never received waters that we are sitting here waiting for our server sucking on ice cubes. I showed her the size of my mail and said that this is ridiculous for the price. I then asked her are you all shortstaffed or are you extremely busy? She looked at me with and matter-of-factly said no, we're not busy and no, we are not shortstaffed. I said so what is the excuse for the horrible service? I then pointed to the table next to me that had not been served the entire time we had been sitting she said there is no excuse she asked if this was the first time that we have died here I said no actually it was the second time the first time was awful and this was even worse. She left and said oh so we're doing really great. I'm sorry. She said can I get you some dessert on the house? I said no I'd actually just like to leave. She took our check and came back and told us feel bad about your bad experience. I comped your Arnold Palmer's wow thank you so much for saving me five dollars. For an awful experience. This was the first time I think I've ever done this. I left no tip for our server. I'm not gonna keep recording servers for horrendous service, especially when there's no excuse. I was a bartender for many years. I also was a restaurant manager and server. My sister is still a server. My mother was a waitress believe me. I am very sympathetic to the service industry. It's not easy but there's no excuse for awful service for multiple tables for the most basic needs of a patron. My original review of this restaurant stays the same. The food is obnoxious in flavorless. The prices are exorbitant. The service is awful. I give a rating of 2 out of 10 the only reason this received a two was because of the very nice patio. My final thought is this maybe if you were a dog you will get better treatment than the humans. read more

Love True Foods! I try to eat healthy and eating dinner here any dinner or lunch is a great choice. Love that they also have a wide selection of high quality drinks (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, both often have fresh juices or edible flowers or other amazing surprises like muddled berries). Healthy & fun too. And I'm a pescatarian and love that I can order anything and pick my proteins. I ordered tofu today and truthfully, I remembered to ask to season the tofu (or it might come out plain). I did and it was wonderfully seasoned with a lemon oregano dressing and then grilled. The tofu had a really great flavor in the ancient grains bowl even before mixing it with the dressing in that bowl. Valerie, our server, was really awesome! She understood my risk-taking in ordering just 'tofu' (as a lot of places don't do it right and season it well). She spoke to the chef about seasoning and it came out so good! I appreciated that she cared about it as much as I did. Love True Foods. Hope they expand to right around the corner from my house. For now, Oakbrook is close enough for great, healthy food. I thought this was going to be a super casual spot: order your food at the counter and find a seat but I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in and there were actually greeters who seated us. We didn't have to wait at all. I loved the fresh and modern decor. After a day of activity, we were looking for some healthy options and they definitely came through. I had a very hard time deciding what I wanted to eat. I was considering the guacamole and chips but was told that the chips were not that great. The server was very nice and brought a couple of chips over for me to try and I did not like them. A friend ordered the Thai peanut bowl, and I had a chance to taste it before ordering it. I liked it initially, but the more I ate, the more I did not like it. It was just missing something. The service were really nice. We had lots of questions and they really took the time to answer them. This place used to be a solid 4.5 stars but things have changed recently. The menu has become noticeably larger and many of the popular items are no longer featured. Today I made the mistake of trying the Pot Roast dip sandwich which was horrible. For the cost of 24 dollars, you will receive a sandwich with little meat and a good amount of fat. Not to mention, I did not receive the au jus that should have come with it. I did inform the waitress but no effort was made to correct the issue. Also, The order for my wife was also wrong and needed to be corrected. It took some time to get this corrected however as no one came back to see if the food was prepared correctly. On a side note, I also heard another table complain about the changes to the menu in which several of their go to items are no longer featured. Came here with my fiancé to support a friend who worked here, so we really wanted this to be a good experience. I have a gluten allergy, which I made clear when ordering a gluten-free pizza. Our server was attentive, reassuring, and seemed to take the restriction seriously, credit where it's due. Unfortunately, when the food arrived, it turned out the pizza I was already eating was not gluten-free. Whichever dumbass staff member gave us our food should be terminated immediately. Our waitress rushed over apologizing, which I appreciated, and told us she wasn't sure why that pizza was given to us without her knowledge, but at that point the damage was already done. Mistakes happen in restaurants, especially busy ones, but what was disappointing was how management handled the situation afterward. There was very little urgency, accountability, or concern for the seriousness of a dietary restriction that can actually make someone sick. It felt brushed off rather than addressed. That little pig rat manager had the worst attitude and didn't even offer to remove that pizza from our order. As for the food itself, the regular pizza was... fine. Not terrible, not memorable, just kind of there. The gluten-free option (once corrected) was okay, but by then the experience had already soured. Our waitress was clearly trying, and I don't fault her. The issue here was communication and management. If you have food allergies or dietary restrictions, I'd recommend being extremely cautious. I wanted to enjoy this place. Left mostly relieved I caught the mistake in time. I will never visit this place ever again. read more

I really enjoyed my first visit here. It's very comfortable and minimalist inside, with a lot of greenery. My friends and I got together for lunch and everyone enjoyed their food. We split the charred cauliflower appetizer and snuck a side of potatoes in there for good measure. I enjoyed the chopped salad as my entree. Everything was delicious, fresh, and full of flavor. I wasn't writing reviews so much then but I would give the other locations 4 stars. The reason For my rating is because my sister and I ordered the same dish. However she got way more broccoli than I did. I got a bunch of carrots and then the waitress did tell us that there was a new chef training in the kitchen and it was very obvious because the portion sizes were way off. I told her so the flavor was consistent, but the portion sizes were wrong. My sister got way more food way more broccoli I got way less food and a bunch of carrots. It was awful. The hummus was really good. However, the picture show that we would get some crispy chips but Soft tortilla shell came out with the hummus instead so that was inconsistent. The cauliflower and J appetizer was delicious. I'm still a fan of true food. However, there were two hostesses and neither one of them said thank you or goodbye. They just kinda looked at us. Also, the bathroom was out of tissue, but I let the waitress know and she was really nice about it. This location seemed like a downgrade from other locations I've been too, it didn't seem as fancy or clean. My mom had to tell the waitress there was a bunch of food by her chair like a kid had been sitting there and indeed the waitress confirmed there had been. The location of this place is in the mall and has an amazing atmosphere once you walk in with open ceilings and the green feel. I started with a OG juice which had fresh ginger, lime, sparking water and honey and it was really refreshing and crisp. For appetizers, we ordered the Brussels sprouts which had a great soy glaze which was sweet and tangy and cooked beautifully. Wow oh wow oh wow! We've been on a health kick for some time and places like this make it so much easier. It's on the expensive end but didn't want to take a star away because the quality is always superb. We tried it on Grubhub once and am now hooked. We tried the side of Kale salad and it´s delicious, love the lemon taste of it. If I would´ve had veggies like this as a kid, oh man it´d be so different for me today!
