This may be a good, healthy, and fresh food place. The problem are the cooks, and service. We waited over 40 minutes, not to get food, but to get a lemonade. Mind you, it was just one lemonade. We didn't have anyone else ordering a drink. Food actually came over an hour late. This is unacceptable for the price of the food. Each plate is $17-$30, but the wait does not match this establishment's attempt at the level of class it wants to attain. Instead, it fails harshly. Houston's for example, although it may be just as busy, does not take longer than 12-20 min to prepare food. The food is good, but I have to knock off stars for the ridiculous pricing. There's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. it's fairly new and the vibe is fantastic. I ordered the spicy panang curry bowl, which came with potatoes, long beans, bok choy, carrots, basil and a spicy coconut broth. I added tofu for an additional $3 and suddenly my modest dinner was $18 pre-tax and tip. While delicious, it was a very modest portion and felt like I should have had a more fulfilling experience for what I paid. Raw Chicken! -never again- It took almost an hour for our food to come out. My friend's ancient bowl looked amazing, she offered me a piece. Minutes later she noticed the texture on the chicken was slightly off (after ingesting a couple pieces), she inspected and found the chicken was not fully cooked! Minutes later I bit into a piece of steak in my bowl, that was also cooked extra rare. I felt sick to my stomach! They brought us new bowls, and even then, the veggies in my bowl (potatoes, carrots) were not fully cooked. uggggh- I imagine the food was gross and raw (and over-priced!) because they were understaffed, on a Friday night. I love going here every time I'm in the area. Everything is organic and their menu is seasonal. I love their summer items. Watermelon lemonade is great and their spaghetti mozzarella casserole is very filling. The food is pricey but it's well worth it when your eating fresh organic not processed food. We also witnessed a server being super gracious to some gross dude wearing a super ugly hat! (See photo) We had the edamame dumpling that has the most delicate and delicious flavor. The menu has a great variety of vegetarian and vegan options, but also contains some fish, chicken, etc., selections for the carnivores! I has the spaghetti squash. It was delicious and surprisingly filling. It was simply squash ( in lieu of pasta) with onion, a marinara sauce, topped with mozzarella cheese. I also tried the lettuce wrap appetizer. It was very good. It has a hint of warmth, but wasn't overpowered by spice. The lettuce helped to cool the pallet and offset the spice. I has the hangover drink. Quality of the food here is A1 and the interior design is just kitchen/home goals. In all honesty, the food here is delicious. I highly recommend the Scottish steelhead. I'm not usually a fan of fish, but I decided I would be adventurous and get this to try. Don't regret it at all. In fact, I loved it so much I want to come back and get the same thing. The salmon seared to perfection with a salt and pepper crust and is paired with a chimichurri sauce over a bed of baby arugula and a side of super flavorful quinoa. I was so excited when my food came because aesthetically, my plate was beautiful. This is actually the first time my food looked as good as it tasted. The lasagna bolognese is also another dish I would highly recommend here. The lasagna noodles were al dente and the meat sauce was flavorful. The cheese was warm, ooze-y, and everything you ever wanted and more. Drink recommendation: Honey Lemonade. Holy smokes. Just delicious. The tartness is perfectly balanced with the sweetness of the honey. The waitress offered me a free refill (not sure if that's a thing or if she was just being nice). I have been to this place before and the food is great. I love all the outdoor seating. But the reason I'm writing today is because I went to a work event here recently while needing to follow some pretty strict dietary restrictions, and was worried that I was going to need to just drink water and watch my colleagues eat. But when I explained the issue to the server, she was super sweet about it, and worked with the kitchen staff to prepare a meal for me based on what they had available. This was during an extremely busy dinner service, so I was super embarrassed to even ask for this level of accommodation, but the staff was so lovely about it and the meal they prepared for me was delicious. The patty was flavorless, the sweet potatoes were inconsistently undercooked and the kale salad dressing was far too tart to be considered a condiment. My son's Lasagna tasted fabulous at the restaurant. The problem didn't manifest until we got home when he had to visit the porcelain king few times too many. Management came to the table and offered to replace my meal, which would have taken god-knows-how-long. So I declined. A friend of ours hosted us last night and we were not disappointed. While we were waiting and strolling towards the bar area, 2 employees approached us and asked if we needed anything. Our server was very knowledgeable of the menu and courtious. Our menu items were outstanding. We had 2 appetizers, the cauliflour and another. ( there were 3 of us ). Our3 main dishes were the spaghetti, lasagna and sea bass. During the meal, the GM stopped by to say hello and I expressed our satisfaction to her. Yum! This place is as LA as you can get with the prices, craft drinks, and man buns, but its all worth it because the food is truly fresh and tasty. Anything you order is going to great, but every time me and my friends go we always order extra of the glazed sweet potatoes. They are sweet, tangy, and just perfect.
