True Food Kitchen serves such good food! I love it. Always super fresh! For salads, my favorite is the Chopped Salad which comes with apples, dates, pine nuts, cheese and a vinaigrette dressing. The apples give it a great texture and crunch, the dates give it some sweetness, the cheese gives it some salt, and the vinaigrette tops it off with the perfect amount of sour. If you're feeling healthy, I love the ancient grains bowl. I typically add a protein whether it's chicken or tofu. So many different flavors and textures in this bowl, yet you would never imagine you were eating something healthy. Another personal favorite is their margherita pizza. It's amazing! We've been doing their family meals which are a great deal. Their spaghetti squash casserole is also great! I will usually add chicken to this. Also another dish you wouldn't expect was healthy. I have been wanting to try this place forever! It was so good! I had a seasonal butternut squash pizza and it did not disappoint! It was vegan and felt very farm to table fresh! Service to be seated, host and hostess were very sweet! Waitress was sweet but I feel she could have checked in more often, she was prompt with the things I requested like salt pepper and red pepper flakes. I also got a hibiscus margarita! Let me start by saying I didn't even know Legacy West existed before last night. I had this place bookmarked but I thought it was in the Shops at Legacy. I brought my mom to True Fire because we both love vegetarian food, and she tends to like the healthy organic food places. We made a reservation for 5 pm. There were already people there eating. It's very popular, and I can see why now. Mom got the Sangria and she loved it. My skinny girl margarita was very refreshing. We started with the kale guacamole. Look, I LOVE guacamole. I was skeptical when I saw KALE in there, but OMG guys...best guac ever! Seriously. It was super flavorful and I had to fight mom for the last chip. We also each had minestrone soup which was delicious. Our waiter was a sweetheart and gave us edamame dumplings on the house upon hearing we were first timers. Those were EXTRAORDINARY. Order them. They were light and fresh and just beautiful to behold. Mom got the ancient grains and the real gem there are the sweet potatoes. I had one and they are glazed with this miso sauce that, you think is sweet, but it's not: It's smoky, spicy and then just a hint of sweetness at the end. Perfection! I got the spaghetti squash casserole. It was my first time experiencing spaghetti squash and it was fantastic. Tasted like perfect al dente pasta. They have tables and booth seating. The bathroom are clean, ample, and gendered. The price per person can go from $20 - $30 depending on what you have. They are definitely on the "light" meal genre, so if you have someone in your party that eat a lot they may want to order an appetizer as well . The founder of this company is a certifiable quack, so I am glad they were able to focus their efforts on opening a chain of pretty good restaurants instead of further damaging relations with reality. The menu is simple and delicious. Although the prices are a little steep, it is right on par with the area and I have paid much more for much inferior food. They have tons of options for vegans and vegetarians and my favorite thing was how customizable everything was. We tried to call the bluff of the server, but they can literally modify anything. Every dish has TONS of veggies. I would love to know what they mean by "sustainable" in regards to their fish, they only offer grass fed beef (no mention of where the cows are from). The chicken was very disappointing because in a city full of local farms and options for pasture raised chickens would not be hard to find, and would be in line with your fresh food motif. The drinks were decent, very simple, and a little overpriced. The bartender did come out and serve our drinks and they were professional and very nice. I'd stick to the limited beer selection next time, and don't come here for the cocktails (we didn't). The service was phenomenal. Our server was on point, informative, and attentive. Yes, it's TRUE! We always go here if one of my girls friends or I are on a diet...OR at least try to be somewhat healthy. Passion fruit margarita is magically delicious. Im fairly new to this "eating to live" vs "living to eat" life, so I was unsure of what I'd order when I went into the restaurant. Healthy food descriptions usually make me turn my nose up since I don't like half the ingredients that are listed. 'Chickpeas... what? Mushrooms...No! HOWEVER, since Ive turned a new leaf in my life, I was "open" to trying something with at least a couple recognizable/enjoyable ingredients...which lead me to the quinoa teriyaki. My friend came in from out of town and we decided to check out legacy west. Just a reminder- Great service is huge for me. It came with albacore, avocado, quinoa rice, mushroom, snow pea, cucumber, cashew and turmeric ponzu sauce (amazing). It was honestly more than I could eat. The husband ate about 1/4-1/3 of my dish. However, we decided to both get dessert because why not? He had the flourless chocolate cake (gluten free and topped with dairy free ice cream) and I had the Key Lime pie. Legacy West is the hot spot for great chain restaurants. Yes, this place is a chain, but it doesn't feel like it with the fresh, seasonal menu and the beautiful decor. We came here just before the lunch rush on a Thursday with a party of 7 people. At first we were told that there was a 20 minute wait since they had other large parties that made reservations, however, we were seated in about 7-8 minutes. True Food does not have any soda or artificially flavored beverages, but they do have some tasty sounding cocktails as well as other drinks. I opted for the Sparkling Antioxidant Tea which was very tasty. It had a little bit of bubble to it, a natural sweetness and it was very refreshing. We opted to share 2 appetizers: the hummus and the cauliflower. Both were excellent. Everyone loved the hummus, especially with the warm pita bread. I could have eaten the topping on the hummus as a full salad! For lunch, I went with the ancient grains bowl with steelhead. I did think it was a bit pricey for a lunch option ($23 with the addition of the fish) but it was very good and VERY filling! I ate all of the fish and the veggies, half of the sweet potato and barely made a dent in the actual grains. We also had 3 orders of tacos, 2 poke bowls and a pizza at the table as well. I heard the steak tacos were a hit, the poke bowls were good and the pizza was great. Our server was very nice and attentive. I wish they had a few more options without quinoa, or were able to substitute it for something else. I'm excited to see what is on the menu when it changes for the season!
