Great food and fun atmosphere at this cool casual place. Either inside or outside seating very cozy and scenic authentic "Italian home -feel" -- this joint is near Mizner ... walk there from Tucci's ... nice place for a 1st date or casual dinner w/friends or the kids Dog friendly ... nice owners from upstate NY I believe ... staff very clean and friendly - service good. I picked up 2 pizzas and a lg salad to go and dropped about $55-60 with tip which was the only negative ... felt it was a bit high (white pizza 19- and large w/2 toppings around $25- ) and the pizza did not taste nearly as good when Reheated vs eating it there at the restaurant * I would say eat there, not a good option for delivery or take out as far as their coal fired pizza. I'm updating this review because I'm not quite sure what has happened to Tucci's in the past six months. Tucci's used to be our favorite restaurant in Boca and some of our favorite pizza ever! But lately it has been the worst experience. We used to order this pizza religiously once a week. Then we started ordering it through delivery dudes and every single time we got our pizza our order was wrong. Last time we got a pizza that was burnt to an inedible state. When we went in to the restaurant to exchange our pizza we weren't greeted with an "I apologize for your pizza not meeting expectations we'll be happy to make you a new one" we were met with "it's not that bad" and a terrible attitude. I would assume if a customer had to drive all the way to the restaurant after deliver and they were that unhappy with the product that they drove all the way to the restaurant it must've have been a big deal to them. We were crushed because it really was our favorite place to eat. We wanted to give it one more shot since it really is our favorite restaurant. We ordered pizza for pick up, they take the order wrong and are so unfriendly over the phone and when we went in to pick up. It has become a terrible experience to the point that the delicious pizza is not even worth it. All in all, we are unsure of what's changed. Tucci's not only used to have the best pizza in town but the staff was friendly and welcoming. We have purchased pizza from this establishment more than 50 times over the past 2 years and we are truly saddened that the atmosphere has changed so much and that they no longer pay attention to making excellent pizza. I have recommended this place to everyone I know but now I would not recommend it to anyone and the only reason I'm not giving it one star is for the amazing pizza and great service we have had in the past. Pizza is fantastic, but service is lacking. We picked up our food and brought it home and we realized they gave us the wrong order. They belligerently apologized and they gave us an attitude after they hung up on our call twice. They told us they would make us another pizza - like they were doing us a favor. This was their mistake- not ours!!! Also, they told us we had to bring back the wrong pizza. I wonder what they are doing with the pizza I'm bringing back? Do they seven returned pizzas to other customers? Does the health department allow that? All they needed to do to make this right was really APOLOGIZE!!! read more

Heard some good things about this place so my wife and I decided to give it a try. Let me preface this review with the fact that I am extremely picky about my pizza. I have two pizza ovens, one in Florida and one in Boston and make my own most of the time. We ordered one chicken hot and spicy large and an order of chicken wings. The pizza came out abut 5 minutes before the wings which was annoying and we were told they had a problem with their oven. The wings were nothing special kind of bland and dried out from over firing them. The pizza was kind of a mystery to me. It was cooked properly with a nice undercarriage but the crust was more like a flat bread crust than a pizza crust. It wasn't Brooklyn, or Neapolitan, or ny style. The ingredients seemed to be high quality but the sauce tasted like it came out of a barbecue sauce bottle mixed with some mikes hot honey. The service was just ok our server really wasn't pleasant at all. The color palette of the restaurant is interesting so the ambiance for what it is seems fine. Most of the reviews here are favorable so it just might not be my slice of pizza. read more

We hadn't really planned on having pizza, but you know how it is when you only had a fiber bar for breakfast and you walk past a place that smells like fresh pizza. This time, it was more than we could do to keep going. It just smelled too good. Naturally, our first step as we stood outside (where there was plenty of free parking), was to check out the reviews. We found great reviews by our friends, so figured we were in good hands. So we checked in, only to find one of our favorite things - a free glass of wine! Okay, lunch had just gotten better. We went in and the place was empty. I'm always a bit wary of an empty restaurant right at lunch time. This seems to be a later eating area, as it was nearly full by the time we were done. It was dark and cozy, with lots of wood and the big brick oven. Everything was very clean and the staff was friendly and welcoming. We have to stick with really inexpensive places to eat, and noticed that the small pizza was $12. That seemed pretty steep for a small pizza with only two toppings. What we found out was that the small pizza was a full 14 inches. So we ordered our wine and a small meatball and sausage pizza. When it said "house wine," we thought we were going to get whatever came out of a big box. I was surprised when we were given a choice of several wines. We settled on the merlot. I was a bit taken aback when it came out of the fridge. I figured we were not off to a stellar start. So, we held the glasses for a while, encouraging them to warm up. As you know, that doesn't take too long in So. FL. When they got closer to the proper temperature for a red wine, I took a sip. This was a really nice red wine! It was very smooth, with no hint of bite. The serving of wine was also a nice size, especially for a free serving. It wasn't the inch of wine in the bottom of a big glass, but probably 8 oz. So we were happy campers. It didn't take too long to get our pie, straight from the big brick oven. In spite of the fact that there were only two toppings, it was nicely covered with meat. Both the meatballs and the sausage were very tasty, nicely spiced and not too salty. The sauce was a perfect blend of tomatoes and herbs and was spread in just the right amount over the crust. The only thing that needed improvement was the crust. It was nice and thin, and well baked, but not as crispy as it should have been. It was a bit on the limp side. We each had two big slices and still had two to take home. Other than the pizza crust and the having to wait for the wine to warm up, I have no complaints about this cute little place. "Have you been to Tucci's?" One of my bloggers asked. "They've got the best pizza in South Florida," he continued. So I made it a point to check out the pizza at Tucci's, located near Palmetto Park Road and Federal Highway in downtown Boca. It was a little tricky getting there since you can't go North on NE 1st Ave from Palmetto Park Road, so I had to circle a couple of blocks. Parking can be a challenge. Since it was after regular working hours I was able to find a spot in the lot next door. The place is small with about twelve tables inside and a few tables outside. Even on this sweltering July evening there were some patrons enjoying the hot, humid air outside. I met Dale with his boys, Joey and Dylan, and we took a table near the middle. Our friendly server was there in a flash and we ordered a round of drinks. Unfortunately they were out of apple juice and Joey had to choose a different drink. There was a very pleasant aroma of baking pizza with a very mild garlic overtone. The best smell in the world. The kids wanted pizza with pepperoni. Dale and I added a house salad and an order of wings to go along with it. Salad arrived first: mixed greens, a few slices of tomato, sliced onion, garbanzo beans, olives, gorgonzola, and a couple of peperoncini all mixed in a house vinaigrette dressing. Very tasty. Joey tried some of the tomatoes and a couple of greens, Dylan passed on the salad. Next came the wings smothered in sauteed onions and roasted garlic cloves. Crispy on the outside they had an immense amount of flavor and were very moist. Dale and I both commented on how good they were. Several minutes later the pizza arrived with a note of caution to the boys from our server, "it's very hot!" We each took a slice once it cooled enough for us to touch it. Dylan and Joey immediately started peeling off the pepperoni slices and popping them into their mouths. That's the way they enjoy it most. Once mine cooled a bit more I took a small bite at the point. The dough was crisp and I snapped a bite off letting the flavors linger in my mouth as I slowly chewed and savored the delicious mixture of flavors. Slightly different then all other pizza I have ever had. You could actually taste the sauce, cheese, and pepperoni with each bite. Even the crust was delicious with it's lightly burned edge. Dylan ate two pieces and split a third with me. Joey ate one and Dale and I had the rest. Once we finished eating, our server cleared the table and delivered the check. Dylan handed him my coupon from South Florida Dines and he returned with the adjusted amount. We left full and happy. Tucci's is worth a try! I think it is one of the best pizzas I've had in awhile. I wanted to update my review now that I have done more than just take out here. We went on a triple date here on Friday night and arrived around 8:30pm. I saw people waiting outside and had wished we had made a reservation, but in talking to the staff they informed us the wait wouldn't be too long, and that the Open Table reservations are only for parties of 10 or more anyway. They were right and we waited about fifteen minutes and our party of six was seated. Free glass of wine with Yelp check-in! They were even nice enough to let us use two at one table (it does say you need to buy a pizza for each wine). One couple ordered the spinach salad, which I tried a bite of...LOVED the balsamic glaze. Each couple ordered a pizza with the intention of mixing and matching. We had one basic cheese/pepperoni, one half bruschetta and half bbq chicken, and one eggplant with arugula. The eggplant with arugula was my choosing and I loved it so much I forgot to try any of the other pizzas. The consensus at the table was that the bbq chicken was spicier than expected, not a bad thing, but something to keep in mind if you're a spice wimp like me. I cannot get over how great the crust here is. It is a coal fired oven, but they have the perfect balance of crispy/crunchy/doughy without being burnt and tasting like coal. Next I have to talk about the service. Our server was so friendly and put up with our party of six really well. When we ordered a bottle of wine he was considerate enough to notice that with three pizzas on the table there was no room for the chiller, so he kept it to the side and diligently refilled my glass as it emptied...that's great service for a pizza place. I also found the wine prices to be pretty reasonable with bottles around $20, especially considering this is Mizner Park. I didn't go for the full five stars because you are often paying $20+ per large pizza, which I know is still cheap in the world of Mizner Park, but knowing other places have large pizzas for half the price it is a little steep, though other places don't have pizza this good either. The atmosphere here is cute and casual, and made for a great relaxing night. I love the idea of pizza dates so I'm sure I will be back. read more

We'd made some grand plans today... had a cooler of champagne packed in the car as we drove up to Cape Canaveral to see the Endeavour shuttle launch. We got as far as Boca when we got the news that the launch had been scrubbed, so we decided to come here for lunch instead of driving straight back home. The street is currently being torn up by construction, so getting there involved meandering through random, tiny parking lots. We ordered the Caesar salad, which is large enough for a family of four, and the small cheese pizza. After ordering, I checked in on the yelp mobile app... and a coupon for a free small cheese pizza popped up on the screen. I figured I might as well give it a shot and showed it to the waitress. She had never heard of it, so she took my phone to show the other workers. None of them knew anything about it either... and yet, they honored it anyway. Considering that is a $13 pizza, I was really impressed. I wouldn't have been surprised if they had declined. I won't say it's the best pizza ever, but it's DARN good. It's thin and crunchy, but not so much that it's like a cracker. That salad was great too. With our free pizza, our bill came out to a whopping $10 (including a soda). Even if it had been full price, it would've been worth every penny. read more

Tried to call ahead to order a pizza and the phone wasn't working. Then went to this pizza establishment to put an order in, in person. Was told by a bald guy that it would be an hour then he didn't even take my order down. The nice lady working the counter came and took my order. She was very helpful and polite. After her taking my order I stood at the counter for 5 minutes waiting as they took my pizza was cooking then the bald guy came over again . He comes up to me and goes "hey didn't I tell I tell you it was gonna be an hour you can't wait her go outside or wait and your car you can't wait here cause people are coming up." Would've honestly left a 1 Star review cause of him but felt like it wouldn't reflect on the other staff cause they were good. There's a fat pigeon just hanging out by the door on top of the "please wait to be seated" sign. Just sits there as people walk in and out of the restaurant. Is this the restaurant pet? Is it too fat to fly? I don't know but it's pretty amusing. We ordered the Italian salad, grilled wings and a pizza. The menu is pretty similar to Anthony's coal fired pizza so I found myself comparing. The salad here is better than Anthony's. The wings on the other hand weren't as good. Tucci's always gets my "light cheese extra sauce with basil & pepperoni" just right. What a hidden gem in Boca Raton! I was in the area for business and had two hours to kill before my flight. I looked on yelped and decided to take a shot at this place and I'm so happy I did! Tucci's in tucked away right off the main street, and has the vibe and feel of an area that used to be a pretty laid back, fun beach town. It's exactly what I was looking for! Not only was the food amazing, but what really sold me was the service. The manger, Steve, is welcoming you the moment you walk in. He's the one that took my order, brought out my pizza and poured me a beer. You typically don't see too many managers with hands on service like this. Steve sealed the deal on this place for me but the outdoor patio, great good, cold beer and welcoming vibe is what makes this place 5 stars!
