So I've been coming to pub 33 for five years I know a bunch of the stuff I know the owner I know her son but today I was literally cursed out by one of the bartenders and had to leave at 12:40 PM one of the bartenders is actually super nice she had a thigh tattoo she told me she was 30 years old she was super nice I asked one of the other bartenders for a drink and she ignored me so I told the other bartender hey the other one ignoring me can you fix me the strength and she said yeah well apparently that pissed off the other bartender and I'll hell broke loose I was called an asshole several times she reached over the bar and got my face and even wanted to grab me by the throat so I was ready to leave I got my tan and left and the entire time she was yelling and cursing what a Mother's Day I tried to spend some money and hang out this Mother's Day but one bartender made sure that didn't happen for me tonight. Pub 33 is a great place to drink and play pool. The Grub is expecially delicious from Maria's cooking - expecially after a good buzz

Just another bar. I personally did not enjoy this bar. The bartenders were nearly naked, which made me feel very uncomfortable. I felt like I was in a strip club. If you like almost-naked women, you'll love this place.... just don't take your female friends or dates here. read more

We showed up on a Saturday. The waitresses were really cute, but cute doesn't matter if you have to sit and wait for over 15 minutes and not have anyone come to take our order. Awesome place near the beach. The girls here are wonderful and make sure you have a great, time enjoy your drinks (make sure you buy them a shot (wink) . Owner replied that they pour 2oz shots thats why they charge double. Industry standard is 1.5, so double charge I still feel is unjust. Just be wary, stick to your wells or standard beers if you don't feel like being ripped off. Oh 3 months to respond, couldn't get it removed I suppose. read more

Moved back into the area recently and I can't believe how great the set up is and how attentive and professional the staff is. Katie the bartender was incredibly genial and understanding and (I will admit) patient with me as I had many complicated orders that she processed with speed and passion. Can't have more positive things to say and definitely will be adding this to my list of favorite bars in Orange County! Thank you Katie! You really sealed this in as a staple! read more

Of course it's my favorite pool hall in Costa Mesa and it doesn't hurt that the owners are great and the bartenders are even better, and so friendly. This place has really grown up if you know it from the past. Classy remodel and new diamond pool tables make it a great place to hang out. read more

Super shady. Ordered a round of shots for me and my friends, $17. Ok cool, I paid and gave a tip. We paid some pool and went back for another round. This time, I was billed $40, for the same alcohol choice. Ok...that's a little weird. But I didn't want to cause a problem, so I just paid. Yeah well today I'm checking my bank statement, and I have been billed $100 for that second round. Lol idk what the owner/bartender was thinking, but I save my receipts. It was 5 shots of Sailor Jerry's. I'd love to hear how they plan on justifying a $100 charge for that when a near 2L bottle costs $20. I think this place prays on people thinking they're too drunk to notice the racked up charges and too drunk to keep their receipts. Unfortunately, I am not one of those people and they'll be hearing from my bank. if you plan on drinking here, keep your receipts and ask for prices in advance. read more

So... My first time here... Was on the fence BUT!!! I now love this place! It's clean, friendly and Josephine outside that cooks the BEST street tacos with the most flavor rocks!!!! So yummy! I love this place! I've only been here 3 times & I must say, I really appreciate how comfortable the management makes you feel. The ladies know how to turn on the ambiance & it's nice to just get away for a little bit here. Server was rude. Forgot to close out a tab and began to be rude and berate our group. The actually pub is nice but be careful with the servers they are rude as hell and are Quick to jump to conclusions. This is coming from a fellow server and bartender. I would never treat customers the way this child did. Also when we attempted to speak to the manager the server who was rude to us decided to curse me out over the phone and call me a bitch. Great every day bar. Good drinks, one of my favorite go-to dive bars. But this new bartender dude that is working there, if you charge me for someone else's beer and tell me I have to go back to talk to the owner the next day, because you can't remember that two people had 2 separate tabs who were sitting at the bar the entire time and "cant reverse the charges" (which is total bull). I'm not going to want to order any beer from you, or come back. Disrespectful and unprofessional. They allow the bartenders to drink to the point that they are unable to function and do there jobs. The owners are not very friendly to staff or customers. If you want to go play pool you got plenty of other options that are more affordable. Drinks are not only overpriced but they don't even take care of employees. Not to mention there is only one security guard on at a time so god forbid something happens due to the fact they refuse to take security seriously. I hope this place can learn from its mistakes but I refuse to ever set foot in here again. read more

If I could put zero stars i would. I just moved to the area and decided to check this spot out. When I came in I was impressed and was enjoying my drink as I do. When it came time to play music I put 2 songs which I payed $5 a song for (Spanish songs)because of the fast play, which only played for 10 seconds and were immediately skipped to another song. When I went up to the bartender and asked for a reimbursement on the songs he refused to do so. All in all I felt stereotyped and disrespected. They do not believe in All Lives Matter.... read more

I just moved to Costa Mesa, they have pool tables which I immediately went to. In between games I opened up my jukebox app and played 3 songs. All Spanish/Regional Mexican music. All songs were skipped after 5 seconds of playing I'm guessing because they were Spanish songs, all other genres kept playing as scheduled. I paid money for my music to be played and I'm sure there's a manual override which the bar took over to skip my songs. I asked if I can get credits to accommodate with their preferred genres but the bartenders refused to listen and to service us. By far the worst bar I've been to in Orange County, unless you're white, it's such a segregated area. Might as well have a "No Mexicans Allowed," sign up front because I totally felt discriminated and judged. Stereotypical bar, do not attend if you are Latino or Hispanic, you'll be put to the side as soon as you walk in. read more

You think these ladies like getting pawed at and hit on by every drunk asshat who comes through the door? I treat these ladies with respect every time and every time I've been there I've gotten awesome and friendly service. Brittany is amazing. Knows how to pour a great drink and provide excellent bar service. Even when she's not been there every lady in there is courteous and professional.
