This place is a mess, the servers were chaotic, the menu offered sandwhiches but then we were told they were not being offered, the food is bland and overpriced. Tables next to us were sending back food and complaining as well. They comped a round of drinks, but it did not make up for the problems. Twenty 9 needs to realize what they are-a place for happy hour and bar food. They are attempting to be an upscale dining experience in a corporate center but do not have the staff, food or management to succceed in this venture. The formula is simple: drinks, music, bar food. I had the change to go to Twenty9 with some work colleagues during lunch today. You can tell they spent a good amount of $ overhauling the upstairs from the look of when it was the boathouse. The interior was a complete change. Although the interior was very polished, it was interesting that they put the bar in the space that it is. You get the look of a high end restaurant that put the bar and TV's right in the middle. It was an interesting mix. The food was pretty good. I had the lunch buffet and it was pretty well done. The roast beef was excellent. The other items were good, nothing special but it was a good deal and you could just walk up and help yourself. A definite plus if you are tight for time at lunch. The rest of our party that didn't get the buffet waited a long time for their food. The place didn't seem that busy, granted I was with a large party, so that may have contributed to the wait time. Asking around my table the burgers were good and the fries were excellent. To put it all together, they gave the old Boathouse facility a much needed scrub. The overall the experience wasn't bad, but wasn't amazing either. We'll see how they do once it warms up and they handle the happy hour crowd. read more

I was here on Friday for dinner with a group of eight. We had made a reservation but they were not ready for us when we arrived and we had to wait at the bar, where the drinks were way overpriced. There really wasn't much on their menu that was appealing to me besides the lobster macaroni and cheese. The service was slow and when I finally got my meal I was let down big time. The mac and cheese was mediocre and there was a serious lack of lobster; just two small pieces in the whole thing. It wouldn't have been as disappointed if the mac and cheese wasn't $22. I went out to dinner last night and ordered a main course that was $28 and filled with lobster, scallops and jumbo shrimp. Got to come here for a work happy hour. The location itself is pretty cool and the place looks huge especially from the outside. They got a sizable bar space and lots of seating all around. It was a very large group of us so it was awesome that they were able to accommodate to that and with little to no disruption of their regular traffic coming in. Another great aspect is they have an outside deck with seating where you can enjoy a nice day outside while having a drink. The food options were incredibly good as well. I ordered the chicken quesadillas which came with some fresh feta and pico for additional topping and the chipotle cream sauce help give it a spicier flavor. I also got the prime rib egg rolls which were nice and crispy on the outside but incredibly juicy on the inside. The horseradish cream wasn't too overpowering as well, they put just enough to where it didn't take anything away from the egg rolls. Also the pricing for their happy hour food is an incredibly great deal and you can get quite a few things for less than $20. Between being able to have enough space for a large group, having a great selection of beers and cocktails, and good food, I highly recommend this place for events or happy hours. read more

Got a deal here from CBS local. I thought the restaurant was awesome and I'll definitely go back. All of the food was delicious. The seafood chowder probably had the most seafood I've ever seen inside of a bowl of soup. There was no Caesar salad on their dinner menu, but I asked my waiter if they could still make it and he ended up making me one himself! And it was perfect : ) We also had the papardelle bolognese and a pork loin special that were delish. Our waiter, Izzy, rocked. The only thing I could tell this restaurant is to bring out the food more spaced out since their portions are so big! Gotta give people a minute to breathe. Everything was so good though. After dinner we went downstairs. They have a huge party area with a bar and a dance floor and probably the most middle aged people hanging out together and partying that I've ever seen in one spot. I thought that was cool. The place was really packed. There were two open seats at the bar. Sweet! Then I noticed that there was a cloth napkin draped over the backs of the chairs. So, I moved it. We ordered our drinks and we're hanging out and like ten minutes later this bitch comes and tells me that she was saving these seats! Hahaha. This place is legit. My coworkers and I went here for lunch and were not disappointed. Everything we got was delicious and the portion sizes were enormous. I got a corned beef ruben with 3/4 lbs of meat on it. Wow! The restaurant also had a great ambiance. It was classy and intimate, yet spacey. The only downside was the service. While the waiter was pleasant, he wasn't very attentive. My mom ordered the Molues Frites (Mussels with Fries) which she seemed to enjoy and my brother ordered the Thai salad - which was massive! Had dinner here with my daughter last Saturday night. The service is on the money (we were on the porch and I think her name was Jess). It was about half full, it looked like she had the room to herself and we never felt like we weren't being attended to. Drinks were brought, menu explained, orders taken and food delivered all in a timely and professional fashion. The food was very good. We started with the prime rib egg rolls. Delicious, but I wish there were more. (They were gone in about 3 seconds). I had the short rib bolognese ($28) and my daughter had the filet ($35). Both were well prepared and the temp on her steak was spot on. My only knock would be its a bit pricey for an everyday place and it's not quite nice enough to be considered a special occasion venue. Just got back to work from meeting a friend for lunch at Twenty9. My friend and I did the lunch buffet and it was delish, the food spread covered all tastes and the dessert was magnificent. The staff was friendly, fun and very social. One waitress spoke to my heart when I couldn't decide between the cannoli or the cheesecake--just then a voice came down from up above (well not really) but it was an angel who said "get both". We will be doing lunch here again and with the lunch buffet priced right around $10 you can't beat that for all-you-can-eat. We had reservations for 7, our table wasn't quite ready so the host suggested we grab a drink at the bar and he would come get us when it was (much appreciated). A series of unfortunate events We were scheduled to have our 50th high school reunion here because we had our 40th here and enthusiasm was low at the time of reservation. When our committee of 5 came to lunch to decide if we would be upstairs where we would have airconditioning everywhere or downstairs where we could use the deck but be cramped if it rained or was oppressively hot. Ceiling tiles started to fall. We were not offered a new table. The fans vibrating the tiles were not turned off. The waiter took my salad before I was finished and either did not hear me or pretended not to hear me say (twice) (using his name) that I was not done--although he turned out to be correct as my lunch had disappeared. Another tile fell, hitting one of our party. They did not offer any assistance (ice, take name, ask about) other than giving her a free lunch. When we went down stairs to check the space, the outside bar smelled foul. When we cancelled the party (more than 30 days out) we were told we would be given a refund of our deposit of $100. We weren't. Instead the owner sent a gift card for $150, as if we would be interested in returning? I am giving 2 stars: 1) because the owner was helpful in answering our questions before that fateful lunch (BTW we never heard from her after reporting our dismal lunch experience) and 2) because the TWENTY9 did us a huge favor by demonstrating how unsuitable a venue this would be for 136 people traveling from all over the country to reconnect after 50 years. Our reunion was last Saturday night and it couldn't have been more successful. For the same budget we rented a party venue on 23 acres. We had room for dancing, indoor AND outdoor dining (covered porch with ceiling fans), room for 2 bars, a large patio for greeting, and the very best caterer ever. Came here because of a Groupon - type certificate that was about to expire. I was somewhat apprehensive as we pulled up to a barn in the middle of a deserted business park (it was a Sunday). Big bar with tv tuned to football, not exactly cloth napkin type atmosphere. However, I've got to say this was no bar food. The pepper seared tuna was well prepared, and that wasabi creme had serious kick. Bacon wrapped shrimp with horseradish were moist and flavorful. The entrees were fairly simple, but executed very well. N.Y. Strip was cooked perfectly, nice and tender with good flavor. Menu said 16 oz., whereas online it says a more normal 12. They should probably correct that. It came with some green beans and very good mashed potatoes. Wife had the tilapia with scallops and crab meat, which she also enjoyed. I had the creme brulee trio for dessert. Each is infused with a different liquor, although the Frangelico one looked/tasted like a normal creme brulee. The Kahlua and Chambord ones were more distinct. They were all good, although I prefer it to be served warm over slightly chilled. BYO Sunday / Monday, a nice extra. The certificate made our meal an absolute steal, too. We'll definitely keep Twenty9 in mind when we're in the area. read more

The lower level has a outdoor deck which allowed the attendees to sit outside and mingle. The only set back was the bar was not open in the private area so we had to walk up a flight of stairs. Extremely careless with food allergies. Their staff is not trained to understand the impact of a mistake. In my experience, they tell you everything is fine but they don't actually check. The attitude was unbelievable. My waitress in particular didn't want to be bothered with my concerns. When we arrived, we noticed several choices missing from the menu online. Ordered a few starters and salad and the special entree of the evening. My wife was thrilled with her medium rare New York strip steak, which came with a generous portion of artichoke and spinach risotto. The restaurant is great and the regular bar tenders are amazing but finding it hard to come back when there's a chance we'll get stuck with him serving us.
