This was the best dinner out we have had in a long time. I ordered the Perch special, and could not believe how incredibly delicious my fish was, it was so moist and perfectly seasoned. I have no doubt that there is an actual chef in that kitchen making every meal. I believe our waiters name was Ray, and he provided exceptional service. As a restaurant make sure you hold on to workers like Nigel, it makes a huge difference. The location of the restaurant was interesting since it's inside of a corporate business center. Chose this venue for my daughters wedding shower and was very pleased with the entire staff, atmosphere, and food. From the moment we walked in the staff helped to unload our car as we had quit a bit of large heavy gift boxes. The tables were set beautifully and Twenty9 printed up individual menus for our 60 or so guests. The staff was attentive throughout the entire event. Food was delicious as were our salads. Our guest upon leaving not only thanked us for being invited, but they too said how beautiful the place was and commented on how much they enjoyed their entrees. So thank you to everyone at Twenty 9 who made this bridal shower even more enjoyable for all to enjoy. We will be back. As we pulled away in the car someone commented... With much hesitation I ate lunch at 29 in Great Valley Corporate center yesterday. I ordered a diet coke while waiting for my client. It tasted like ammonia. I said to the bartender this is bad and she said "everyone complains about our diet soda". She gets me an iced tea, it tasted like poison. I had a hard time ordering food with that taste in my mouth, the menu was not pleasing. I ordered Nachos to be safe and they were disgusting. This is the 3rd time I have ate here out of convenance however, never again. My body thoroughly rejected the nachos later on. BAD! ZERO. read more

I just hosted a bridal shower here and would first like to start by commending the staff here and manager. They are absolutely excellent. They are personable and accommodated to all of our needs. They did not hesitate to help with any of our needs and treated everyone wonderfully. That being said, getting the shower planned was THE WORST experience ever. Patty (the owner) is THE absolute WORST person you can work with to plan an event. She started by answering my emails in the beginning. Then as I had further questions, she vanished and began ignoring me emails. I was so upset I even had to call the restaurant to talk to her. She wouldn't even answer until I left a voicemail! She denied getting of my emails ( although she could date when I sent them). I was really upset by the way she was treating me. The shower was in two days and I had no choice but to follow up with her. She was rude and unpersonable. When I arrived, I met Jess the manager. She had to resolve all the issues Patty didn't deal with me. She is absolutely wonderful and was so kind to me and all the guests. I give this place three stars because their staff was so great and we had a good time regardless of all the drama. Patty wasn't there the day of the shower but all the staff did a great job. I would still come back only because of the staff. They are great and only because of them did the bride and all the guest have a great time. My daughter had taken me our for a Mothers Day lunch. I ordered the crab cake sandwich with sweet potato fries. I ask to leave out the roll. I received my lunch an it was very sad looking. On this large plate was a mound of fries with a half a piece of romaine lettuce with a small crab cake. Had I been the chef I would have plated this meal with more lettuce for appearance. I have had the crab cake before and it was very tasty. This time it was without any taste, very bland. My daughter had a salad with Chicken. Chicken had not much taste. Not sure what is going on here but would be very choosy next time we come. The cost of the meal was pretty pricey for lunch also. Other restaurants closer are much better. read more

First, let me say that I loved this place when it was part of the Boathouse franchise. The staff was nice, the menu was good, and the prices were fair. Unfortunately, the new management didn't carry over these qualities. Pros: * Close to workplaces, which is good for happy hours. * Redesigned upstairs appears very nice. * Specials for local corporate sports teams. Cons: * With the exception of a few, the staff clearly do not want to be there. They can be rude and often just ignore you. * CREDIT CARDS NOT ACCEPTED if order is under $10!?!?!?!? (So much for a quick drink after work). * At the bar, they often serve drinks in plastic throw-away cups instead of usual bar glasses. Not the way I prefer to enjoy my stout. * Happy hour specials don't make everyone happy. It makes their prices normal for a few hours. Otherwise - overpriced. * They are trying to make a casual after-work bar into a classy high-priced establishment - but they failed. I try to avoid this place as often as possible, but when work friends insist on going there, I will go. If you go, expect the worst and maybe it won't be so bad - or maybe it will be just what you expected. read more

I reluctantly come to this establishment when there is a happy hour after work. Literally the only good thing about this place is the fact that there is an outdoor space during the summer. On numerous occasions, the bartenders are slow and unfriendly. This restaurant is literally in the middle of an area where there are multiple companies that employ thousands of people. You would think that they would staff the bar with more than one or two people. On one occasion I ordered a flatbread, which never came, and was expected to pay for it afterwards. We eat there all the time and love it. Don't have anything negative to say about the food or service. However, the back left leg of my chair broke while sitting outside and on the deck and ended up falling on my back. I was wedged into the chair with my feet in the air like I was sitting in a gynecologist chair until someone sitting close by helped me out of the chair. The whole thing was really embarrassing. When the manager came over to check to see if I was ok, I think he could have offered something more then just buying us a drink such as how about offering to buy us dinner especially because we're in the so often. A large group of us went there after work and were amazed at how different it looks! Considering they had just opened, we didn't expect the food to be that good so we ordered a bunch of appetizers to share. They turned to be so good that we ended up going back the next day! The loaded Nachos, I know it sounds pretty standard but they are TO DIE FOR!! The calamari, French Onion soup & their burgers are also amazing!! This place is good for one thing. Drinking. Don't eat there. Expensive and not so good. It was the old Boat House. They tried to fix it up and put lipstick on a pig. Both were very good, carved/filleted table side by the owner. Beer selection could be better, less generic. Atmosphere is open with tables surrounding a large bar, a live singer was there last night who was reasonably good, a separate area is available if you want quiet but it looked boring. This place used to be called the Boathouse. It's a very popular place for the Great Valley Corporate Center types. They welcome local bands and have a nice patio to perform on. I watched a band perform and they had to stay inside due to very bad weather. The ventilation is terrible. The bar was very hot & muggy on the inside. They also need more wait staff. The service is very slow and you may find yourself walking over to the bar to get a drink. I've been to worse places but for the area and location, this was disappointing. read more

I brought my girlfriends parents here on our first dinner out together and we were pleased. The food was excellent and the service was attentive (credit to Jackie). The only problem I had was when we arrived they tried to give us the Valentines Day menu on Sunday February 16. Which needless to say was 1/4 the size of the regular menu and little more pricier. I talked to the Jackie and it was resolved without a problem. Also, the restaurant is inside an old barn which we really liked. Place is clean, decor is modern. We will definitely be back. read more

Stopped in for lunch with my family. My hubby and I ordered spinach artichoke dip and fries with cooper sharp wiz for the table. The cooper sharp wiz was to die for. Our children ordered baked mac and cheese while we both opted for the turkey rueben. Lunch was great but we all had to take home doggie bags from filling up on the apps. Couple nice IPA's on tap, could be better beer selection but no complaints. We were there on a Sunday and the place was empty. Service was good and friendly. Went for dinner with three friends last night. Dinner was great- I had the trout special with fingerling potatoes and asparagus, while my friends enjoyed a salmon entree, crab cake entree and chicken parmigiana entree. Everything is a la carte, and the entrees are pricey-- as the former Flanigan's Boathouse, I guess I was expecting more of a "pub fare" menu. The menu does include a variety of appetizers and salads that could probably be subbed for a dinner entree, but just a warning that dinner is not cheap. Three of our entrees were in the $30+ range.. My trout special was great-- my friend thought it was better than her salmon. Good reviews on the crab cakes and chicken dishes.. Service was very good as well. We arrived around 6:30 when it was surprisingly quiet for a Saturday night. We wanted to sit outside, but instead were seated in the back porch area. By the time we left at 8:45, the place had filled up considerably. Loved the atmosphere of the barn- so unexpected since it's in the middle of Great Valley Corporate Center! Looks like it would be fun to go to the bar after work- similar to McKenzie's with a huge circular bar, TVs, and booths on the outer edges. Wine list has something for everyone, and lots of beer and cocktail choices. We will be back... read more

Food is just so so, but the price is reasonable and I love the place, modern and ancient at the same time.

Went for happy hour... drinks are reasonably priced as compared to most places by the big corporate centers. Did not have a chance to eat anything and will be back for that. All I can say is good riddance Boathouse! They have almost completely redone the interior. It is modern decor and clean. The only complaint I have is that they changed the men's bathroom to a single person bathroom. I had to wait in line behind a couple guys to go. Otherwise great place for happy hour. read more

Recently, I've only been to this bar to attend happy hours. The bar area is big and seems to always be busy during HH. Bathrooms are clean and there is a bar downstairs so there is usually plenty of room for everyone. Be cautious around Christmas - it can get very crowded both in the parking lot and bar areas. I hosted my work Christmas party in the private back room a few years back (2011). It wasn't the most seamless experience (they double booked the downstairs bar and we were moved to the private back room) but fun was had by all. read more

I asked for a wine and the server didnt know what type of wine it was and after a failed attempt to find it, he just brought me something and said it was similar.. and it wasnt! We had dinner at Twenty9 last evening, and had mixed feelings about the experience. We were the only people in the restaurant area next to the bar when we got there. The service was uneven, which is to say that the bread came when we had almost finished the entree. The water for hot tea was not hot enough, and there wasn't an opportunity to flag down the wait staff to ask for hot water. The entrees were good, but the desserts at $8/per person were so bad that they had absolutely no similarity at all with the description on the menu. They were the worst desserts we have ever had anywhere. I wanted to privately email the manager, but there is no email on the website, so I guess this review will have to do. I doubt that we would go back. The bar was packed, but very few diners, by the time we left. read more

My husband I went there as a result of a Living Social deal we purchased. We weren't sure to expect, however, Twenty9 definitely exceeded our expectations. The service was great and the food was phenomenal. We had the stuffed mushrooms as an appetizer, which I loved even though I don't like mushrooms. The bacon-wrapped filet was really tasty, I would definitely get it again. The atmosphere and decor made the restaurant feel very cozy. We will definitely be going back again! read more

Yes, this is a first for me. You have to really do a poor job with customer service to get me to rate a restaurant as one star. Here's a summary of our bad experience and why you should avoid Twenty9: First, upon arrival, we requested a table for 4, but were told there would be one available soon, that we could sit at the bar until one was available. Moments later, 3 men came in with a request for a table and after stating "we can drink at the bar until one is available", the manager marched them over to a table and sat them. It was one hour later that we were finally sat at a table. Second, after the 60 minutes of watching other people eat visibly-appealing burgers, I asked the waitress where it was on the menu... her reply "we don't serve them after 4pm on weekends". Since it was now 8:15 and I had watched 2 other people eat them at the bar, I asked again and she said that they are not available. After we placed our orders for entres, the table next to us was served, YES, a burger! The waitress stated "She must have made a fuss to get that burger, and I would have ordered one for you if you had made a scene". Third, the length of time between seeing your server and receiving food or drink is LONG. Maybe that's why they named the place "Twenty9" for the number of minutes you can count between ordering and receiving anything. Oh, did I mention they spilled water on me and merely said "sorry"... a towel could have been offered but wasn't. Dinner finally arrived at 9:15pm. Since we arrived at 7pm, do I have room to complain? The 3 guys who arrived after us and asked to be seated at the bar (but got a table right away) were drunk and had left, and many other people had been served the "gourmet" looking burger that I was denied. Summary: Manager could see that we were visibly frustrated with service and could have done something. We did NOT make a fuss or a scene, but if after reading this you still choose to go to this sad establishment and find you are not getting the service you want, do what the waitress instructed us: make a fuss or scene. I'm just not the type of person who does that. I just won't ever go back. There's many other establishments for you to choose and I highly recommend going to them. read more

Located in the middle of corporate office complex, Twenty9 fits the bill inside, with ample bar seating and tables designed for happy hour interaction. We went there for dinner on a Saturday night and the restaurant was only half full when we got there just before 7 p.m. (It did fill up over the next hour.) The service was very friendly and the management and staff were attentive. I ordered the crab cake, listed as "crab cakes" on the menu. I was assured when I ordered it that it was sizable. There were some other typos on the menu that gave us and the server a laugh. The food was well-presented. The crab cake was excellent: big chucks of crab, very little filler. I would return to try some other dishes and possibly sample the raw bar. read more

I just had my husband's 50th birthday party at teh Twenty 9 Restaurant in Malvern. I can't say enough about the place. The food was superb, the staff went out of their way to make things easier on me and the view from the deck was georgeous.
