UPDATE ONE DAY AFTER POSTING REVIEW...I'm adding the 5th star because the manager has already responded to my review. I value management that is so RESPONSIVE to their customers that they post replies. It tells me they REALLY want us to be happy. It tends to be indicative of better service. Good service flows down from good management. I will definitely try their pancakes next time because I definitely want to go see if the bathroom is fixed too! And it's true...the restroom is not a part of their restaurant. But it needs fixing! Original Review: I alway explain why I ding a star because when I'm saying the food was good and the service was good...why not 5 stars? Well...the food WAS good but I came for breakfast and they don't have waffles so I ordered the BLTA sandwich. The flavor is spectacular and they get the bread really crisp. The bacon flavor was excellent but they use a very thick sliced bacon and unfortunately I forgot to ask for it "super well done, crispy with no soggy fat". Luckily it is very meaty bacon, but I had to pull a lot of thick icky fat off the meat. It was a little tough to chew because of its thickness...however the flavor is spectacular. It's just so thick I'm not sure if it could ever be crispy crumbly the way I like bacon? I was happy with the fresh greens in the side salad and enjoyed the balsamic dressing. My husband ordered the UltiMelt cheese with avocado. They charge $2 extra for the avocado and I thought they stiffed him so I took a lot off my BLTA and gave it to him because my BLTA had loads of avocado. The UltiMelt was grilled with extra cheese on the outside of the bread the way I make them at home. Except this was even better than my best. I will try another BLTA with EXTRA CRISPY bacon and request they toast my bread the way they did the UltiMelt. I don't know if they will or not but it's worth a try on any sandwiches we ever get here. The veggie fritter was a huge disappointment. A flat dry pancake thing. I love broccoli so it would be fine with ketchup for me but my husband found it dry and way too broccoli-ISH. Our service was great. We seated at 12:35 in front of a huge clock and food arrived in 15 minutes. I felt it was a bit pricy but truthfully I know I'm old and living in the past when 2 sandwiches didn't cost $28. But I suppose if you are used to that, it's not pricy to you. NOTE to Managment: this does not apply to the men's facilities but the toilet paper and waste receptacles in the women's small stalls were installed on the WRONG SIDE. The toilet was offset to purposefully leave extra room on the right for those items. But they put them on the left. I'm small and I was VERY CRAMPED. A large person would have their body mashed against the metal corners. Or they will not be able to center themselves on the toilet. This really should be FIXED ASAP before too many people need to suffer. Unfortunately the handicapped stall has the same problem and to remedy it will require adding a little wall on the right side to mount the toilet paper and waste receptacle. It would be very uncomfortable to be a large person transferring from a chair onto that toilet. Poor planning here. Will I come back? Hmmmm. The jury is still out. I Like waffles. However the grilled sandwiches with the cheese on the outside might be enough to get me back at least one more time to see if they can make crispy bacon. We will see. Just went to Two Chicks to meet up with old friends. We tried the Cup Café first but the wait was lame, they're super low staffed, and the menu wasn't impressive. I always have a hankering for the veggie fritters at Two Chicks so that was a plus to be able to order those. I decided on the Farmhouse omelet which came with a white creamy cheese, asparagus, and red onion topped with pesto. What a tasty breakfast. I was super impressed with the timeline of this visit and the space they have to offer. Might I add, the coffee cups are just as HUGE as the menu (so many options)! Wish there was a zero star option. We had team bonding here and the girls ordered poppy seed French toast. The girls said it tasted sour so we asked the waitress if she would allow us to swap for something else. She had the manager come speak to us and said the waitress said she was concerned about our 12-13 year olds ordering for themselves when a mom was in the table right next to them. Anyhow, she was rude and said we could order something else but we need to pay for both. Then when we reordered something, she questioned our daughter's age for ordering from the 12 and under menu. Two chicks is one of my favorite breakfast/brunch spots in Reno! This is the first time I have been to the one in south Reno and I was impressed with how nice it looks in there! Our server, Nicole, was really nice and and very helpful. I really like the melts they have. My go to has always been the pepper popper and my wife likes the ultimelt, but you can't go wrong with any of them. If you are in the mood for a cocktail they have a pretty solid drink menu as well. It is always disappointing when the actuality doesn't live up to the hype. Parm fries overdone and greasy. Parm hash browns greasy, very bland, with only 3 bites having a HINT of parm. Eggs were OK, but adding salt was necessary. Breakfast burrito flavorless other than the sausage, of which there was way too much. Almond poppyseed French toast also basically flavorless. Four thick slices of bread, so the portion size was adequate. Sadly there were soggy areas of the bread. The blueberry compote saved the dish by adding good blueberry flavor; I only wish there had been enough compote for all the slices. The bacon had delicious flavor; however, I asked for VERY CRISPY bacon and got the still-white-fat floppy version. Now I've tried it and don't have to be curious anymore. I would have loved to have been gaga over it and found an irresistible restaurant, but overall a kind of expensive disappointment. read more

This lovely establishment is located in a newly renovated best western hotel. The hotel is nice and clean and this restaurant is in front of it. I was quite astonished to see the great reviews of this restaurant considering it's part of a hotel which I'm not sure is the best option for dining. But my friends and I were visiting Reno and we really wanted a good place. We wanted a good experience. We talked to our Reno friends in this place as well known well establish and well respected and is one of two locations in town. Why did I decide on this place not only for its great reputation, but I had a desire to have hashbrowns, which I just adore. They offer a lot of options, but I went for the two eggs over easy and opted for the patty sausage which was incredible and I have never had such a good patty sausage I can see what people go a bit wild for this place. The crowd gets going really early at 8:30 AM so forewarned because there is often a line outside after that so come early and it opens at 6 AM so I really, recommend making reservations getting there early. There is a bar next-door where you can wait outside in case you do wait. The weight was not long for me only 15 minutes and the receptionist was very kind and also very accurate which I really appreciate. On top of that, even though my party had gone to the other store not because of me but because they weren't listening to my directions. They sat me without my other two people in my party being there and I let them know they were on their way and they said that was no problem. The quality, the price point. The service cannot be our waitress was absolutely lovely and had, extensive experience with the menu and was happy to recommend our items. I highly recommend this place for the comfort. This location is huge and has lots of seating compared to the midtown location. Parking is a little tight sometimes, but not bad. I came here late morning and was greeted by the hostess within about 10 minutes. There were groups of people waiting and the hostess informed me it was about a 30 minute wait, but we were able to snag seats at the bar. It was great to skip the wait! I had the yellow chick skillet with an over easy egg. The potatoes and the egg were cooked perfectly! The spread they served with the toast was delicious! I'll be honest, I never fully understood the hype behind two chicks, but I think I was maybe not getting the right stuff. I also like that the South location is bigger and seemingly not quite as crazy as the midtown location. I recently went for a work breakfast and I got a 1/2 serving of the veggie eggs Benedict, as well as a side of sourdough with fruit butter and I was sold. The eggs Benedict was so great, and my only wish was that there was more hollandaise, but luckily, the server happily obliged when I asked. If there's one thing you have to get at Two Chicks, it's the fruit butter! That stuff is so good. The coffee is good, the service is great and their cocktails are awesome from what I remember too. Went here during Memorial Day weekend and it was great. I had the banana and peanut butter stuffed French toast, and my wife ordered the grain free sweet potato pancakes. Service was great and the location is perfect. Parking was easy. The French toast was crispy on the outside and gooey in the middle. My wife's pancakes were a little softer and moist, but I guess that is to be expected with grain free. We will definitely be back to try the other items on the menu. read more

It was too late. We went for breakfast and my son didn't touch much of his omelet (I didn't take a picture) so we took the whole omelet home. I asked him why did he ordered an omelet if he didn't want to eat it. He said that it tasted differently. I didn't realize this until we got home and I warmed up his omelet for breakfast the next day. It was covered with a layer of fresh garlic. Hey, I love garlic but never in my omelettes. Also fresh garlic???? It was not listed as an ingredient on the menu either. So my guess is the cook accidentally added garlic to the wrong order and they didn't care to redo the omelet. Disappointed. Also the table next to us had a huge hair in their meal. We had a great bartender but no name tags so I can't tell you her name. I am in love with the sourdough pancakes (I really never eat pancakes!) they have a marvelous tang and the butter just makes them amazing. I don't know another location serving sourdough pancakes in Reno. Full servings can easily be split if you're not a big eater. The Poutine might be great over their Parmesan hash browns (?) they're good more like a breakfast skillet, not over the top great. The Ramos fizz however ... another hard to find thing in Reno was refreshing and just as good as one you'd find in the big easy! Try it at brunch! read more

Glad to see two Chicks making it in a 2nd location. This is not quite as cozy as midtown, the feel is different for sure. The menu and comfort food is right on point though. You are doing yourself a flavor favor if you clear your mind and open it to some of the unique menu items here. My favorite part of Two Chicks is their commitment to locally source as much product as possible. Coffee, bread, dressings... Way to go. The wait time estimates need to be worked out a bit. Two Chicks is always a great breakfast restaurant when you can get in. On Sunday mornings it's usually a line out the door and they close at 2:00 so you have to get there early. We drove by on Sunday both the South Reno and the midtown locations and it was standing room only so we decided to try today, a Monday. We were very happy to walk in and be seated immediately. The special today was Irish eggs Benedict which we tried and the poppy seed french toast with eggs and sausage. We treated ourselves to a Hawaiian bloody Mary and a mimosa. The drinks were delivered quickly and we waited about 20 minutes for our meals. The plates as always are overflowing and the Irish Bene was surprisingly good. It included a large portion of corned beef and cabbage with eggs and smothered in sauce. it also included a side of a choice of potato and meat. The poppy seed french toast, four large pieces, was smothered in blueberry sauce and was absolutely delicious. It also came with a choice of egg and meat. The mimosa was a large serving and the bloody Mary was a bit spicy but you had a choice of a single or a double. Our waitress was wonderful, checking on us continuously and our plates were cleared away as soon as we indicated we were done. Staying at the adjacent hotel made it quite convenient to visit this fabulous diner for two breakfasts. Sourdough pancakes with blueberries, chocolate chips and bananas were decadently delicious. It's like the Two Chicks in Mid-town but bigger with more seating and more parking. The Mid-town location can get busy with a long wait. I've been here a couple of times. Here you don't have to wait. I have some friends who live in South Reno so this is a good choice to meet in the middle. The food is good and the portions are big enough. The staff has always been helpful. read more

Stopped into 2 chicks for the first time. It was pretty good. I went with the classic bacon and eggs with vegetable fritters and my husband had the chicken fried steak with hashbrowns. The bacon and eggs were cooked perfectly for me. I like my bacon crispy but still juicy and they accomplished that. The vegetables fritters were a nice change to the normal sides and I enjoyed them. I was really surprised by the honey blueberry butter, it sounds like it should be super sweet but it wasn't. You just got a hint of each of those flavors without being over powering. My husband's chicken fried steak was good. The sausage gravey on top was addicting. I find that most gravy either hasn't been cooked down enough so it still has a flour taste or it isn't seasoned. I couldn't stop stealing bites of it. My husband said "The hashbrowns were the best he has had in awhile." they were perfectly crispy. I also appreciated that there were locally sourced ingredients. In 2020, I have been finding ways to still support local restaurants while sheltering in place. Since March 18th, 2020, I have been committed to delivery. When I felt confident , I would choose curbside. Leaving my house has been a rare occasion for nine months. When I heard a few places where having meal kits for the holidays, I signed up! I looked for places I still haven't tried yet. For Christmas, I chose the holiday brunch from Two Chicks! I was given a chose of 2 entrees (I chose Grilled Cheese Strata and Biscuits & Gravy). The meal also included candied bacon, mimosas , and coffee beans. Their reputation for great food lived up to its title! I was so glad I had leftovers! It was a treat all weekend! I've been a fan of Two Chicks since they were the Gourmelt food truck. I've frequented the midtown location the most, but I've discovered the gem of the South Reno location. Service seems a bit faster as there is more seating available. The decor is just like the midtown location, all egg and farm themed which is too cute. We came here for a healthier breakfast option and the food was great! I had a veggie omelet and it was a good serving- definitely filling. We sat down right before it became crowded so we were happy about that. We saw the line out the door for the location closer to the casinos so this was definitely a better move. It is attached to a hotel so that might be fun for next time. I was able to also enjoy a mimosa which made it. Great brunch option before we headed on the road for our 3 hour drive home. I love Two Chicks Midtown. They have always been excellent from the first time I visted them. And now I have one closer to my home in South Reno. We went in during the Pandemic so the place was sparcely outfitted and social distancing was being implemented well. The remodel from the previous tenant left no traces of what it was before. The Two Chicks have put their own fingerprint on the building. My meal was just as I had expected. Nothing fancy this time just a simple breakfast with a beef patty, veggie fritters, toast and soft scrambled eggs. The quality was there just like I expected. We were in and out in no time and parking was much easier here. I look forward to coming back and trying some of the breakfast drinks they are offering. Two chicks is doing an amazing job in this new LARGE location. The service was great from the time we walked in until the time we left. There was a minor wait for being seated since the restaurant is operating at half capacity. The lobby and outdoor area for waiting was great and you could be texted when your table was ready, ideal! Our breakfast was great, nice variety for everybody's likes and everything was made as requested. Kids got a fun wax pack to make their own creations while we waited for our food. Family friendly. We will definitely be back and glad to have this location on the south side of Reno. read more

I needed this one. I have not had the best summer of outstanding service and food. I have had to hold back several reviews because I literally had nothing good to say about the establishments. Sigh. Then I am down on Virginia Street near the mall, and I see Two Chicks. I tell the wife, "let's go try it." She was leery as it is attached to a refurbished hotel we used to see when we shopped at Hobby Lobby. I won, we tried it. The place inside is a TOTAL CONTRAST to the outside. With its vibrant colors and old school diner theme I was drawn right away. I had a gut feeling. The wait staff is SUPER friendly and efficient. Great way to start. Coffee---Served in a big mug and she was trying to top off before I could finish. Indicator you are being served by a pro. Wife had the Chilaquiles---LOVED IT. Ate every bite, was super happy. I had the biscuits and gravy. WOW. First, the biscuit was not what you would consider flakey, it had a texture more akin to a dinner roll, but flakey too. Special. Gravy was also special. and the scrabbled egg. I got extra gravy to finish it the way it should be. Hash browns were brown and tasty. I am making myself hungry. Price was good. Amazing, Filling and very aesthetically pleasing inside. I got the Chicken Fried Steak and Eggs and it was amazing. It was 18$ but very worth it, i was really hungry and ended up finishing the entire thing. The servers were welcoming, and the place does get busy which is good for business. Just had breakfast at two chicks south. The sourdough pancakes were delicious and the bacon was crispy. The restaurant is also very cutely decorated and clean. Their menu is clearly marked with vegetarian and vegan options, and you can sub in local eggs for an extra cost. Stars were lost for two reasons... one was service. The staff seemed bothered by people being there. It wasn't that busy when we first got there, but we hardly saw our waitress. The biggest reason for the loss of stars though was when our food was brought out she had the plates of food literally stacked on top of each other. Like my dad's plate of eggs was sitting on top of my pancakes. Bringing out the food should have been two trips or a two person job. read more
