Lots of trucks to rent. Showed up without a reservation but it doesn't seem like we will have a problem. We were in and out of there in less than 20 minutes. We will definitely use this location again. Easy to find, lots of trucks and the service was great. It was easy in and out. The mileage was recorded correctly and I was charged correctly. I always check this before taking any rental though and reset the mileage button so that there is no dispute. The truck was pretty new and in good working condition. Usually customer service at these places is terrible, but Victor is a shining star. I was a little bit worried I would get hassled for picking up at 2:30 instead of 2:00 as I had booked in advance. Unfortunately, I got stuck in 405 traffic. Victor was super friendly, relaxed, and helpful. He helped me out when I checked the truck out and when I returned right when they were closing. I would recommend seeking him out if you need any help there. read more

Horrible experience with this location! We went in person 2 days before our pick-up day to check that everything was good to go, and even received a call from them confirming the day before. Well, when we went to pick up our truck using mobile pick up before they opened, our truck wasn't ready and the owner, who had given us his cell #, didn't answer texts/calls and we were stuck having to call a national U-haul # to get a truck. They changed our rental to the Cherry Ave. location for 9am. They gave us $50 back, but U-haul of Long Beach set our move 2 hours behind. It messed up our entire day! For a long-distance move like ours, do not use U-haul. What a hassle it was working with them!!! read more

DO NOT EVER GO TO THIS UHAUL!!!!! I'm not exaggerating. This was, literally, the worst experience I have ever had at any business. One of the workers became HOSTILE with us. All we did was return the truck we rented. We didn't see the sign that said to stop it for inspection. This big, wannabe cop came up and accosted us. All he had to do was to simply ask us to move it up, but he started yelling and having a tantrum. He told us he was going to go as slow as he possibly could through the inspection. I told him to leave us alone and he said since I was giving him attitude, he might just charge me extra miles. We asked the manager to have someone else do the inspection and he could help us and walked away. This person was ridiculously hostile. I explained to the manager and he said he would "talk" to him. Do NOT GO TO THIS UHAUL. They do not deserve your business. read more

I rarely use this UHAUL only because I live close to one in LA Habra but when I'm in town and I need to use there services they are always ready at the helm to help me out. I had zero time left to move all of my things out of the apartment and when I arrived after performing a self check in I had found that I requested desk check in and their systems were down. People were on their cell phones trying to reach customer service and being transferred and they go their rental and left but when it was my turn Nashika said that it was not working, I was on hold for a long time when the manager Mike decided to contact them himself, they were going to close and I was terrified. Mike had it arranged that I could do the self check out by passing their system that was down, but while I was doing that Mike found an ethernet cable and thought what if the reason the system is down is simply due to a bad cable and he fixed the problem himself and the entire system booted back up. The whole time this was going on a representative named Tommy had to turn away customers and he and Nashika seemed to really care about the customers and spoke very kindly and patiently to us and at the same time were very knowledgeable about what they were able to do for us. Tommy was there when my husband and I returned the vehicle he couldn't have made it any easier. This is a very awesome and intelligent crew. I wouldn't go anywhere else after this experience. read more

Pickup of truck was super fast and I had no problems or hidden charges.

They deserve negative stars. Worst U-haul location EVER! The odometer reading had been recorded in error upon pick-up, so when my brother and I went to return the truck at the drop off location, they charged me for previous customer's 300+ miles. It took an hour and a half of phone calls and waiting to contest the milage disparity, for which no compensation was offered. The drop off location would not help because they blamed this location because they were the idiots that recorded the starting mileage wrong. Calling this location was useless, so we had to call back and forth with corporate. Avoid this place at all costs. If one has to do business with this location I highly recommend double checking everything before signing anything to avoid such hassles. Also there are a bunch of people who loiter around outside who harass the customers and management here does nothing about it obviously, since other reviews also mention this issue. The shady people outside try to chase you down asking if you're hiring movers and are very aggressive about it. read more

I am Extremely disappointed & disgusted with manager Yvonne Crawford as I've never experienced anything like this situation to be so mischievous and premeditated. Rented a truck from 1600 Pacific Coast Hwy., Long Beach, CA 90806 on 03/21/17 @ 3: 24 pm. After signing the contract Manager, Yvonne Crawford, asked my brother-in-law and I to check the truck for any bumps/scratches around the truck. We both checked the truck and signaled some scratches and bumps on the body around the truck box. Ms. Crawford never offered us to open the truck box for it to check the inside. The funny thing is that when we were loading our furniture, I noticed the opening on the corner of the truck but didn't think anything about it. Upon returning to the store, my brother-in-law pulled into the store to park the truck, Ms. Crawford came quickly out of the store and said: "You are going to pay for the damage on the truck." Her second remark was "as soon as you pulled up, I noticed the damage on the top corner." My question is? How did she know the truck was damaged if she had not yet inspected it? All I can say is that this is a very organized scam and an easy way for this lady to make extra money. We were both astounded but upheld our innocence as we told her that the damage was previously there. Ms. Crawford said, "I am who gave you the truck and I know since I inspect it." We were both in a hurry as my brother-in-law is a Pastor so he needed to head to church. As we try to reason with Ms. Crawford that the damage was previously there she totally ignores us and continued accusing us that we had caused the damage. When I mentioned that I had purchase the insurance Ms. Crawford stated: "the insurance only covers the body of the truck not the top or the roof." Ms. Crawford was perfectly aware of how she was going to get us to pay for the damage. Even though I paid for the insurance, Ms. Crawford still charged me for the damage. This situation is unfair as Ms. Crawford premeditated who her next innocent victim would be; unfortunately, in this case, Sandra Carpio, paid the price of her easy money making scam. I had previously rented trucks from this facility but believe me, I will never use UHaul services again as this experience has left a sower taste in my mouth. short version: on moving day, the U-Box I had reserved in advance wasn't available. longer version: On the advice of the moving helper I had hired through U-Haul (who was great), I called several days in advance to reserve a U-Box for all my earthly possessions to be stored in for several months before moving to a new permanent home. I double checked on the phone that it would be available at a particular time, and that the moving helpers would be there to pick it up. 8am on moving day I got a phone call from the moving helpers that not only did they not have a reservation for me, but there were NO AVAILABLE BOXES to be had at that location. Thus began the six month nightmare that has been storing my stuff with U-Haul. Within a couple of hours, a regional manager was able to find a box available at a different U-Haul location on the other side of town. I had booked my moving help for two hours of loading help, which had now run out. I had to pay for additional time (no choice, I had no way to tow the box to my residence), and the only concession made by U-Haul was $50 off my first month of storage. Every interaction I've had with U-Haul since then (to resolve issues with my autopayments not being processed and blessedly, to ship my stuff to my new home), has turned into hours on the phone, being bounced around to multiple people and sometimes being told to hang up and dial a different number. There is no integration of customer service--leaving the poor saps who foolishly pay for this service to sit on hold and/or wait for managers to call them back. After this experience, I will never again use or recommend U-Box or U-Haul storage. read more

Do not use this U-Haul ever. We reserved a 26 foot trailer so we could move and everything was confirmed. We get a call two days before the move to say out truck will not be available. They didn't even have a 20 foot truck available. they tried so send us to Gardena to pick one up but at noon not the agreed upon time of 7 AM. The reservation manager (at least that is who she claimed to be) was very rude and not very helpful. this is one of the most unprofessional work places I have ever had the misfortune of having to do business with. read more

Worst experience ever! First off, after 5 separate phone calls, nobody has called me back yet to resolve my issues. Rented 2 trucks with trailer for long distance one way travel. One of the two trucks had 116k miles and obviously hadn't been serviced or checked in who knows how long. Noticed truck was in poor condition and brakes were horrible but truck was already loaded. We were ready to hit road at 6am for long trip ahead, then radiator light goes on .5 miles from home. Called Uhaul road side assistance, 1 hr later, non uhaul mechanic was sent. He added radiator fluid and discovered that the whole steering and brake system wasn't working. Uhaul wouldn't let him fix it and we needed to wait another 1hr to be towed to uhaul service station. 12 hours later, with little to no communication, we finally got the truck. To make matters worse, at drop off location, they charged me $45 for gas as computer showed more gas was in truck at pick up, even though the paper I received at pick up had was initialed by employee named Patience the actualy gas level which was much less than what was in system.. I purposely put in more gas than what was on paper but someone at this branch didn't update their computer records and the initialed doc. didn't mean anything to drop off location. On top of all this, we rented trucks on 9/4/2013 and after 5 calls and messages to store manager Gabriel, not one phone call back and it's almost been 1 month already. read more
