a plate of indian food on a table
    Sankari V.

Impromptu lunch. Wasn't hungry but got dragged into it. Empty restaurant on a Friday afternoon. Filthy restrooms. No paper towels, in need of some really deep cleaning. Food was okay, nothing amazing. Will I come back : Not sure. Management : please pay attention to the restroom. This is not good.

I wouldn't recommend this place for Indian food ! We ordered rava dosa and masala dosa ! They took almost 20 mins and more to serve and there were hardly 2 other families at that hour , apart from us . The lady who took my order came back after 15 mins asking if I needed rava masala or plain? Like seriously ? And also heard them argue about my order inside the kitchen ! Yes " that loud " And after all that wait we get a dry undercooked rava dosa which turned like papad brittle after 2 mins ! I wouldn't go back here

Food first. I wanted to eat something very home like and light. I ended up discovering Ugadi. They offer unlimited Thali for people who want to eat a lot. I ordered a chapati thali which is a one time serve only. It comes with 2 curries, fryms, curd, sweet. Today they served me 3 chapatis with dal, cauliflower curry, curd, Shahi Tulsa for sweet, fryms. In addition to this they served a small portion of eggplant and they keep on serving complimentary salted mint chas in small cups. The food was very simple, tasty and homelike. I also ordered a badam milk which came with perfect sugar in it, not overdone. Though the service is quite slow, this can be a good place to just come by and eat some not yet commercialized food which usually contains layers of oil and ghee.

I had THE MOST UNPLEASANT experience so far. I ordered a thali and there was HAIR in my food. When I asked for a new thali becoz it's disgusting to eat food that has hair, I was told to leave. How come they don't give a shit about customers? Tables are sticky, the whole place looks like it was cleaned a long ago. DEFINITELY DON'T DARE TO HAVE FOOD HERE.

The word UNLIMITED jumped out at me.

$13 for all you can eat Andhra thali? Sign me up! Great food. I got the unlimited thali and got seconds of vada and green beans. Yes they have #gunpowderchutney but they were out of ghee for it so I had to sprinkle it over my rice and the struggle was real. The filter coffee was a tad pricey at $2.99 so I gave it a miss but looking back I should have gotten some. I wish there was Telugu music playing. Still you CANNOT beat the price for ALL YOU CAN EAT South Indian vegetarian food. Sorry this review reads like a stream of consciousness.

COVID WARNING!! Terrible service. Merchants were not wearing masks (during COVID!!). Front desk was rude and mixed up my order, insisting I had to pay even though I did pay already online. By the time I found my receipt, a new customer walked in and claimed the order that was supposedly "mine," and the merchant realized his mistake. Then he laughed but did NOT apologize and finally gave me my food. I ended up waiting an extra 15 minutes before he finally let me take my food home, and food ended up being cold. Also, orders were mixed together with no clear instructions of which items belonged under which order. In sum, I got a bunch of tiny sauces for $61. Not happy and will not return or recommend to anyone.

My friends and I came here for Indian food and I ended up getting the Gunter Chili Dosa. It was supposed to be pretty spicy but I didn't think it was all that spicy. The dosa here is delicious and is a little bit closer than Madras (which has the best dosas in the Bay Area in my opinion). I loved the texture and taste of the dosa but it was a bit smaller than I am used to. That being said, the sets have a ton of variety of chutneys and it was fun tasting a bit of everything.

    Mini idly with sambhar.

Came here for early lunch on Saturday. The place is simple and basic and serves vegetarian South Indian fare. We wanted to order Ugadi special bhojanam thali but it was not ready yet. We ended up ordering mini idly with Sambhar, onion pakoras and Kara masala dosa. Food was out quickly and everything was good. Pakoras were not served with chutney so we had to ask for some sauce. Dosa was good and potato filling was flavorful. Idlies were piping hot and sambhar was yum.Their menu is short and there were some new items/ names for us so we were not sure what everything is on the menu. Dishes are reasonably priced. Service is a bit slow but their friendliness makes up for it. I also tried the mysore pak sweet which they sell at the counter. It was too sweet and not like the one I have had from India.

I was feeling particularly charitable with my five because the food warranted it. However, the service in my mind is still WIP : 1. They were short-staffed, so there were dishes that were staggered for eg. 11 yr olds dosa was the last to come and he was swiping food off my husband and my plate because he was so hungry 2. They charged us for 2 Thalis even though we had just had one thali and I pay attention to reciepts otherwise we would have ended up spending about 7 bucks more - they were very graceful in correcting the error. With that said, the quality of the food in my mind was mind-blowing. It had the feel of a home-cooked meal. Coming back to what we ordered - 1) My husband ordered the Onion Rava Masala Dosa and he loved the dosa, the sambar and the chutneys that came with the dosa. He and my son shared an order of mini-idlis - which was excellent too 2) My son had the plain dosa and he really liked it a lot 3) Now coming to the piece de resistance - the unlimited thali - I loved it - it had an aloo capsicum (bell pepper) subzi, vegetable korma, brinjal pulusu (a tamarind based curry), an amazing mango chutney and dahi vada (along with the customary dal, rice, sambar, rasa, chapatis and fry-yums and a semiyan payasam). I really loved the food. I would give them the benefit of doubt on service because it's a family run business - and it's brand new. I will definitely go back!

The vegan bao, the elote, and the plantain taco are also amazing, and they have the best mocktail to all time (ask for the yuzu one). Both the indoor and outdoor dining experience is wonderful, plenty of space between tables, flowers lining the outdoor tables, a great place to chat over a meal without getting overstimulated. The soups are relatively flavourful for vegan broths. The curry fried rice is delicious as well. I also appreciate the variety of drink options made with vegan milk substitutes. The service is pretty fast considering how busy it gets. Some of the workers can't speak much English, but it hasn't been an issue. The interior is clean and well kept (I guess more than you'd think looking at the little strip it is part of), and the wait staff are friendly. The parking lot for the strip mall this is in is on the small side, though, and may be tough to find parking during the lunch rush if you don't arrive early (and I would highly suggest carpooling). Unfortunately, the customer service left a lot to be desired. I arrived shortly after they opened, and there was no greeting or acknowledgment when I walked in, even though the restaurant was empty. When I approached the counter to pick up my order, I gave the name it was under. Instead of confirming the order or asking any questions, the first thing I heard from the cook was, "Get her card first." The cashier then immediately said, "Give me your card." Only after my payment was processed did they hand me my food and say, "Thank you." I completely understand that businesses need to protect themselves and ensure orders are paid for before they're released. That's not the issue. It's the way it was handled. As a customer, it felt like I was being treated as if I might take the food and run, rather than being welcomed into a local, family-owned business. A simple greeting, confirming the order, and then politely requesting payment would have made all the difference. Great customer service and protecting your business can absolutely go hand in hand. The food was outstanding, but the experience made me feel unwelcome. Sadly, because of the customer service, I don't see myself returning.

Tristan was my server and he was so friendly and kind! The space itself is really cool, with lots of plants for decor. For my drink, I got the hot spring spritz, which was a really refreshing choice for a hot day. I asked Tristan how many dishes we should order from the snacks and plates section since I did want to order something from the bigger plates section as well. Tristan recommended one from the snacks and one from the plates to accompany a bigger plate. It was more than enough food for two! The crispy quinoa tuna poke salad was my favorite thing of the night. I loved all the flavors, and the fresh herbs really rounded out the dish. The tuna was super fresh and the quinoa added a nice texture. The disco fries were super unique and had sweet and salty elements, but it wasn't my favorite dish of the night. The sticky pork shank was super tender and I loved the salads on the side it came with. The sauces were tasty too and complemented the pork well. Since we were celebrating an occasion, we were gifted a mango sticky rice for dessert, which was super nice of Valley Goat! The dessert was one of the best desserts I've had at a restaurant. The coconut foam was perfectly light to go with the sticky rice, and the mango ice cream had great flavor. The watermelon granita also added a fun flavor to round out a perfect bite. If you're looking for a nice dinner, definitely check out Valley Goat! Parking is easy in the attached lot.
