Our search for an honest company led us to West Coast, and we hoped the reviews were true. The good news is, West Coast is as honest as it gets. Askia came out and looked around the attic while I watched from the ladder. First, he showed me that the supposed mildew was some sort of harmless sandy clay-ish material. And the supposed black mold was just "lumber mold", an industry term for "stain fungi"--the common dark streaks in lumber that originate at the sawmill or in the forest, don't weaken the lumber, and are not indications of moisture. Who knew? Well, Askia knew. And he actually spent time convincing me that we didn't need their services. So do I recommend them to you? You betcha! An honest company is a joy to find.

Their quote was completely itemized--which I appreciated--and ended up being well under every other retail bid I received. Two people really made the difference: Mary and Bolo. Mary is a literal pro when it comes to the insurance side of things. She worked tirelessly on the supplements to ensure we maximized our RCV payout from our insurance. She caught things the adjuster missed and helped us get the settlement we actually needed to do the job right. Bolo, the project manager, was extremely responsive and reasonable throughout the entire build. Whenever a technical issue came up--even complex stuff like electrical circuit stability or specific plumbing heights--he was there to talk it through and get it handled. One thing I will say for people considering them: you need to be the kind of homeowner who has the capacity to stay on top of the work. If you know exactly what you want and you're willing to stay involved in the day-to-day details, C2C is an incredible solution. It's a partnership, and because I stayed engaged, we were able to hit a level of quality that usually costs twice as much. The house looks amazing (see the photos of the Blue Thunder Quartzite and the Jade tile!). They were fair, they were fast, and most importantly, they were responsive. Ryan first came to do the assessment. Super informative and reassuring. Easy to communicate with for sure. On demo day, which was looooooong. Giovanni along with Nate and Raudel's crews were great to work with. They were efficient, polite and kept me assured that they would take care of things and updated throughout the process especially since I was dealing with all of this while my spouse was on a work trip. When I had my spouse on video call to see the progress, he said their work was clean. We've worked with other companies for demo but these guys were wayyyy better at it. When it was time to pick up equipment after drying time was over, Gio again kept me informed with what stage of the process we were in and what'll happen next. We still have a ways to go to get back to norm but these guys have been good to us since the beginning of the process. Definitely recommend!

Jim Thurber was the Project Manager who walked me through the process of putting everything back together again. He actually worked with my Insurance Adjuster, and I didn't have to pay anything out of pocket, except for an unforeseen leak with wall damage after the initial estimate was done. He had his employees there around 8 am every day they were supposed to be there. Alex and Marcus (i am not sure of the names, but hopefully I got it right) did the drywall/patching of the mess of my kitchen. Then the cabinet team finished it off, painted everything exactly matching the original paint, and put all the appliances back where they belonged. The kitchen looked brand new, and everything was cleaned up afterwards. The timeline was as first estimated. If there were any issues, Jim took care of it! Jim communicated with me often, and he reassured me that everything will be done to my specifications, which they were. Great company! Wonderful project manager (Jim)! Fabulous employees!

Despite not technically being liable for the original job, the owner Spencer showed tremendous integrity by agreeing to fix a leak discovered during the last rains. Adolfo worked on the repair with efficiency & was very thorough in ensuring the leak was fixed properly. They ran a water & moisture test to confirm. Spencer also gave us a longterm warranty on their workmanship should any additional issues arise in the leak location. Very impressed by the type of business this company runs & would highly recommend. I will personally shy away from solar/ roofing combo companies now bc many have high turnover rates given the reduction in California subsidies- sticking with a roofing first company like Smart Roofing would be the way to go.

Throughout the process before the roof even started, the company was very attentive and communicative. From Spencer coming out to inspect the property, to updates over the weekend regarding possible rain delays, I appreciated the effort to keep me informed. Lydia in the office was also very accommodating with several texts and emails prior to the start of the project. Once the project began, I received texts letting me know David would be the project manager while Carlos and his crew handled the work onsite. I honestly do not know if David was present on the first day because when I drove by the property, the crew was extremely busy working and I chose not to step into the work zone for safety reasons. On the second day, I did step onto the property to speak with Carlos and ask questions. Carlos answered everything I asked and helped me better understand the roofing process, which I really appreciated. The crew was clean, efficient, professional, and overall the new roof and gutters look great. Maybe this was a little unconventional, but because the house is currently empty and I live in another county, I personally brought both the deposit and final check to the office. I also stayed in town during the roofing project just in case immediate access to the property was needed. Everyone throughout the process was courteous and accommodating. I also felt the overall value of the project was fair for the quality of materials, workmanship, communication, and the upgraded roofing system that was installed. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because I would have appreciated a final text or email from the project manager letting me know the project was officially completed. When speaking with Carlos, he did let me know the crew planned to finish on a particular day, and they clearly did. I spoke with Lydia on the phone the day I decided to bring the final check to the office, which was what would have been day 3 based on the original 2-3 day timeline they gave me, although the crew actually completed the roof in just 2 days, yes very fast for a small roof. Lydia was kind enough to call David while I was there to see if the project had officially been completed, so perhaps I may have jumped the gun a little. Still, I would have appreciated a final confirmation directly from the project manager once everything was officially wrapped up. Other than that, I'm very happy with the final result.

When we started, we only knew what we didn't like about our current kitchen. Like any major…read moreproject, we started by reaching out to a couple of vendors to get quotes, that's where we met Alon, the project manager for Lumina Builders. What immediately stood out to us was that he had ideas and solutions to address our pain points and make enhancements, we wouldn't have ever considered, and didn't just wait for us to tell him how we wanted things. He created a vision for us in that first quote visit. The other contractor we spoke to didn't provide any ideas just asked us how we wanted it. It was a very easy decision to go with Alon and Lumina Builders. Our project was estimated to take 2-3 months and ultimately took two and a half months to complete. We designed a brand new kitchen, addressing all of our concerns and adding a few recommendations from Alon to streamline some areas. They ripped everything out aside from the flooring and walls. We got brand new custom cabinets, custom lighting, and new countertops. Our fridge was moved to a new, more accessible area. Our sink was shifted down to align with the stove for continuity sake (never realized how much I hated it being in a corner previously). We had a new little cabinet built in our little breakfast nook area and we had an appliance garage built to house everything that took up counter space. Everything is so much brighter and more open and, even though we know the demensions are roughly the same, it feels so much wider. We are ecstatic with how everything came out. Alon is a genius. He was responsive to us throughout the project, checking in weekly to see how things were going, giving us peace of mind throughout this process, as first time remodelers. We were indecisive about the primary cabinet color (I was very worried we'd be stuck with something we didn't really like) but he worked with the cabinet makes to give us several samples to choose from. He was very patient with us. We LOVE how everything turned out! We'll definitely be using Lumina Builders for all of our future projects.

First, our rep Robert came to our house with tons of options and suggestions. He was able to give us a wide variety and help us select something that uniquely fit our style and budget. He was easy to get a hold of and responded quickly with any questions we had. When we came to the showroom, Robert dopped everything to lead us through the selection process. We could tell he was highly knowledgeable and much more intent on making us happy rather than upselling us on unnecessary products. When instillation day came our installers, Miguel and Israel, were also very professional and highly knowledgeable and skilled. Rarely have I seen harder workers than these two! Their attention to detail--such as lining up the carpet pattern on the stairs and making sure the cut pattern on the risers were balanced--was impressive. They consulted with me and confirmed the features of the dwelling and the specific colors set for them from Sherwin Williams pallet for this model. Shout out to the lone faux shutter feature in da back of da house. *rolling eyes*. These guys communicated clearly the job and the specifics to be done. They explained to me the way they will paint the eaves and gutters (a little different from the original paint patterns). I'm good with that. That actually matches what all the neighbors did with their new paint jobs. Armando and Andres got right to work starting with the power washing for day one. The humble abode might have sighed a great sigh of relief when they did this. Gone are the tree sap, chimney soot, dust and pollen stains. Next day, cover up and protect. Then next 2 days paint all large surface areas and most of the trim. Day 4 finish all trim and doors. Last day, touch ups. These guys work hard and thoroughly. We are so happy and relieved to have the house painted right with the correct premium paint - Sherwin Williams. Looking over the humble abode now... She looks polished and beautiful. Take that HOA! Last week I had my carpet cleaned by Richard Midgley of UK Carpet Cleaning. I was referred to him by a friend. The reason that I called Richard is because I accidentally knocked over an entire glass of red wine onto my off white carpet and one of my dining room chairs. My own attempts to clean the stain only turned the color from red to purple. I decided to get an estimate to have the whole carpet cleaned. It was expensive and I was reluctant, but I decided to proceed anyway. Richard ended up spending an entire 7 hours cleaning my carpet (my whole place is only 1620 sq. ft.)! He explained how his rotating machine method got deep into the fibers rather than just cleaning the top layer of fiber which is what happens when the typical steam cleaners just use a wand. Richard treated the wine stain with a product that works over a 10 to 12 hour period of time. The chair stain came out immediately. I was doubtful that all of the wine stain on the carpet was going to come out, but by the next morning, most of it was gone! Richard returned to my home to retreat the wine stain once again and also treated a coffee stain that was still evident in another room. He used the same miracle product and by the next morning, I no longer saw either stain! You can't ask for better than that, so I would definitely recommend UK Carpet Cleaning. EXCELLENT WORK!! I hadn't had my carpets cleaned since they were installed in 2007 (13 years ago) and they had a lot of dog & cat stains. I got quotes from 2 other cleaners besides UK, but was not impressed with their presentation or commitment to success. Richard spent 45 minutes reviewing the job to cleaning all of the carpets in the house & getting all of the animal stains out & explaining his 7 step process. He really know the carpet materials and cleaning technology/ chemistry. He committed his BEST effort (no false or misleading promises) for the quoted fix price which was competitive with the other quotes which did not guarantee anything. Richard did the work himself and was at my house for 5+ hours on a Saturday. Some of the stained areas required 3 or 4 pre/post-treatment applications to remove the stains. ALL stains were removed and the carpet looks almost brand new, including the stair steps. He cleaned up after himself before he left. I will use him again and recommend his services to anyone who needs tough stains and dirty carpets cleaned. Gary read more

Richard is like the Wikipedia of carpet cleaning. Seriously!! The minute he walks into your house he knows the type of carpet you have, all about the fibers, padding, etc. If you have any stains he immediately knows what caused them, how certain chemicals react on the carpet, and what to use to remove stains. He is very diligent when attempting to remove the most daunting of stains, and is quite successful in getting them out. He once cleaned an expensive area rug that I had spilled both wine and coffee on. In my wildest dreams, I never thought the stains would come out, but Richard worked his magic on them, and they are completely gone!! As owner and operator of his own business, he takes great pride in his work. He is diligent, thorough, persistent, professional and reliable. He actually is passionate about his work!! If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. Richard is so knowledgable about carpets and carpet fibers and the proper treatment for each, there is no comparison to other companies. I have known Richard since 2003 when I had almost white carpet installed.He cleans my carpets twice a year and has kept it looking great.I had water leaks twice and he was able to lift the carpet,replace the pad and reinstall the carpet both times perfectly.I like that he is very careful cleaning my carpet near my laminate floor.I have cats and he has been very helpful getting out the messes.Richard is very conscietious and very quick to respond when I call him.I highly recommend him. read more

We called Richard about a carpet with lot of stains on it. I thought I might have to replace the entire carpet (around 1000 sq ft). In 13 years, after trying every company you've every heard, UK did the most amazing job. My carpet was completely dry in less than 36 hours, which for me was very important. He told me which stains were removable and which ones probably weren't going to go away. The cleaners used had no harsh odors which is important for my family. My carpet was badly stained in areas from my dog. I really thought it was beyond cleaning. I had another company clean my carpet previously and the stain (and the smell) returned. Richard came in and thoroughly treated the area and the stains and smell are completely gone! The carpet is wool and a lighter color; I thought we'd have to replace it all. Joe Higens was referred to us by Superior Floor and Cabinet Designs where we purchased our carpet. I called Joe first thing Monday morning and he came out the same day! He worked me into his schedule due to the type of stain and not wanting it to sit in the carpet any longer. Joe gave me an estimate which was very reasonable prior to coming out. Upon arrival, Joe surveyed the grease stains and clearly explained the process he would implement. Joe let me know that the type of stain coupled with the type of carpet I have might require an additional or two returns to ensure it is fully removed as he cannot be too aggressive with wool carpet otherwise it could ruin the wool. The carpet looked AMAZING when he was finished! He called the next morning to follow up and ensure all spots were removed. There were two small spot still remaining (almost impossible to see) and Joe came out that Friday to treat those spots. Today our carpet looks like new; only my family know that I broke the rules and wore my shoes upstairs and tracked grease all over the carpet. Additionally, we had an important company coming in to videotape the office, so, my boss had to step in, look for a new carpet guy and get them in on the fly spending more money for the last minute appointment. I did see his reviews in the past year have not been stellar like they used to be, but, thought maybe it was a fluke. Michael, I think it may be time to retire. When I scheduled the appointment, I was quoted $102 for carpet cleaning and $75 for one gallon of pet urine treatment, for a total of $175. During the scheduling call I clearly explained that both the bedroom and living room areas were carpeted, and the quoted price was in line with other companies in the area. When the technician, Kevin, arrived and used a black light, he pointed out several puppy urine spots. Immediately after this, the price jumped to $325 for three gallons of treatment. The apartment had no odor and had already been treated with enzyme cleaners, so I was uncomfortable with such a large increase. After some discussion we agreed on $250, which was already significantly higher than the original quote. Another confusing point was that I was initially told the treatment could only be purchased in full "gallons," but when I pushed back on the price, suddenly the amount could be adjusted. The living room and dining area were also then priced as if the unit were a three-bedroom apartment, despite these spaces being discussed during the original quote. I agreed to proceed because I expected a deep carpet cleaning using the Chem-Dry system that was advertised. However, the actual service was extremely quick. I stepped out briefly and 31 minutes later the entire job was finished, even though the original estimate was about 1.5 hours for fewer rooms. The carpet looked only slightly cleaner and still visibly needed more work. When I raised this concern, Kevin dismissed it and told me I was "too young to understand." He attributed the results to traffic patterns, stairs (which had already been communicated ahead of time), and other factors. The tone of the conversation only became more respectful when my husband arrived. Later, I reviewed my home camera footage and saw that the carpet was mostly run over quickly with an agitator, rather than receiving the kind of detailed cleaning I expected. The carpet was barely damp afterward, which also raised questions about how thorough the cleaning actually was. Additionally, an area I was charged extra to clean was not cleaned at all because the technician felt it looked clean under a rug. If I'm charged for an area, I expect that area to be included in the service. When I contacted customer service to express my concerns, the conversation became defensive and dismissive. Ultimately the technician refunded the $200 I had paid, which I appreciate, but that was not what I originally wanted. I simply wanted the carpets cleaned properly. After moving furniture, preparing my home, and setting aside time for the appointment, the entire experience was frustrating. I now have another company scheduled to redo the cleaning. Overall, the experience felt rushed, inconsistent with the original quote, and dismissive of legitimate concerns about service quality. Pictures include proof of avoiding areas and Kevin getting in me (a woman) and my partners face when confronted with our concerns about higher cost lest time. I just wanted the job done. No well done carpet cleaning takes 31 minutes for three room that includes an 75 dollar per gallon added pet service.
