It is not easy owning a BMW sometimes, especially when it's time for repairs. So after first taking my 2012 BMW X5 35d to two other places for questionably high quotes, I stumbled upon Ultimate Bimmer Service. WOW!!! Not only were these guys half as much as the first two places I took my X5 too, but they diagnosed and fixed my car in less than three days which was less time than the other places said it would take to fix. I dealt with Brent Moore, who is one of the co-owners of the shop. Can't say enough positive things about this guy. Just for starters, when I picked up my car, he had all the old parts laid out for me to inspect as if they were old organs from a body. Dr. of Bimmers, Brent Moore, went on to explain, in great deal, how these defunct unctuous parts went bad leaving me with no doubt that my money was being well spent with the new parts and repairs. Awesome place! Dropped off my car and discussed the issues it was having with Ryan (co-owner and bmw master tech certified). He said he would take care of it, as well as, take a look through any other outstanding diagnostics that were faulting through the car's system. After reviewing the car, Ryan prioritized a list of repairs in an itemized invoice and noted details, thoroughly explaining the functions of each repair/maintenance and its effects on the car. The job was completed timely and they made additional fixes of small parts at no added cost. All parts and updates are BMW standard or better, they truly treat the car as they would their own and backed their work with a 3 year warranty. Anyone (outside warranty) looking for proper bmw work without the added dealership bullshit, this is the place. Dropped in for an oil change. They did a good job and highlighted the uneven wear on my front tires (already knew) and the need for alignment. No pressure tactics or a laundry list of repairs to try and squeeze more money out of me. The paperwork was a bit excessive and didn't care to sit in the office going over everything. I came for speed and a good job, not to be coddled. Also - prefer to fill out my name and address instead of having to tell you as you write and then have to spell our weird street name. Let me start this review telling about how I decided to try Ultimate Bimmer Service. I was relocated to TX for my job. I haven't been in this State before and I don't know anybody here. So glad that I found this place! Anyone who owns or is thinking about owning a BMW knows that maintenance can be a nightmare. I've had my car for two years and only recently had to start looking for good indie shops since my warranty expired. The first place I took my car to (a simple battery and oil change) did not really earn my trust. They too received high ratings online, but I just didn't feel that I could trust the owner. The guy behind the counter convinced me that I needed a $300 part, that in the end, I did not need. When my service engine light recently came on, I did my research online to find another BMW mechanic. Luckily I found this place! Everything about this shop is professional. Ryan and Brent listen to their customers and keep them informed every step of the way. It's very easy for a mechanic to throw a bunch of auto jargon at you, add in some labor, and the next thing you know, you have an expensive bill. These guys remove all of the anxiety associated with taking your car to a mechanic. A very throrough (and free) diagnostic is performed. You are then brought in the office where a professional overview is given about what was found. The options are listed as well as the price. You are told what is needed to fix now, plus what might need to be fixed later (if anything). Turns out my repair was not cheap, but not expensive (definitely could have been more). I walked out feeling satisfied with their work and will return (hopefully not soon!) when needed. One unexpected perk of this place was that they cleaned the inside and outside of my car while it was serviced. Just like the dealership! To potential customers: I did a very thorough research online about quality and price in the Metroplex for BMW mechanics. No need to search any further. These guys are the best in both categories. Very competitive rates without subpar quality! On a side note: I pay careful attention and take the time to really analyze how I am being treated when I visit an auto shop/mechanic for the first time. I take careful mental notes about how I am being talked to (does the person sound shady as some mechanics can come across) and read their body language. Ryan and Brent at UBS are awesome! They took a test drive to understand the problem that I had put the car up did a full systems check and diagnostic via computer and visually. Checked all tire pressures suspension bits, and refilled all fluids. They did the work in a quick time frame, kept me very informed, allowed me to look and observe every step of the repair. Then after they finished took another test drive with me to make sure the problem was gone. Gave me a great price and friendly service. I highly recommend these guys. Between the two of them they have 19+ years of experience as certified bmw technicians at BMW of Dallas. I took my car here for what amounted to $2600 in repairs. I checked around and this price was in-line with the competing shops. Except 1 shop was $500 lower, but bad reviews and no way I go there. The dealer was about $4k, so forget that. The end result is Ultimate Bimmer is the best service to value in the DFW area. So don't even bother looking elsewhere. One more thing is I really like how they show you the broken parts at check out. I really like seeing what happened to the parts to cause them to fail. I wish every shop would do this. I've tried a few independent BMW shops in the area, and I can say with certainty that Ryan and Brent are among the best in Dallas. They love their BMWs, are prompt and professional in their communications, great at follow up, don't rip you off, and get the job done right the first time.
