    Went back - yum!

Didn't take a photo but had a classic breakfast here and the chef cooked it in olive oil for me (allergies). Everything was great and bacon was smoked so had great flavor. Smashed potatoes were yummy. Bar service was great! Very efficient, breakfast came out fast!

Order the tako escargot..... in fact, order two servings of it. One of my favorite bites on Maui now!!

We came for dinner, and the service was fantastic. The monkeypod mai tai was delicious, and we also highly recommend the ahi sashimi (super fresh and paired perfectly with their ponzu soy sauce) and surf and turf (we like our steak on the rarer side and thought it was perfectly cooked). Our only thing was that we felt like the food was a bit expensive for the portion sizes and quality (although this is not uncommon for all the Merriman restaurants).

Ulu kitchen provided us a lovely experience! They are located right by the ocean and have amazing views! We managed to get a table during happy hour and got some cocktails and appetizers for a great deal! Everything we had was wonderful! Hot, delicious and fresh food. Our server was also very kind. Would definitely recommend.

let me start off by saying we got here at 9:30 which is allegedly happy hour so that was a bonus point we were able to sit outside on the patio overlooking the water such an amazing beautiful view. I originally ordered the bloody Mary the kimchi bloody Mary was tasty, but very overpowering with black pepper. I wish it would've had less because I would've loved it. I think the kimchi is a great addition to this drink it's nice to know that they're happy hour is from 8 AM to 11 AM four dollars off all signature drinks who doesn't want to be drinking by 8 AM in the paradise Island . I wasn't sure what we wanted to eat the menu seemed very basic. I ordered the basic classic breakfast, which was basically nothing short of amazing savory flavors in the homemade sausage over medium egg for the first time in my life exactly the way it sounds prepared with a cooked white and a juicy bubble. They're smashed potatoes where anything short of flavor every bite of this was amazing. We ordered one basic pancake every bite of that was fluffy and flavorful with the right amount of toasted slightly crispy but full of flavor my wife ordered the magic dance was very favorable. The service was great from my waitress. I'm only giving this place four stars because of the over induced overload of pepper in the bloody Mary and I ordered the signature coffee martini. I went up to the bartender to ask her if it was possible to sub out the black liquor 45 with Bailey's, she seemed very hesitant reluctant and was not really being kind after I killed her with kindness and assured her if she couldn't do, it would be no worries she went ahead and decided to make it. Let me just tell you with the modification. This was amazing. The Bailey's gave the perfect cream. It was accompanied with rum coconut also coffee. I would definitely come back here again and do a full stack of pancakes not one single one only . you cannot go wrong. I'm sure if what we ordered was phenomenal Everything else on their menu must be amazing.

We came here every day for breakfast, since it was literally 1 minute away. 3 times for breakfast and 1 time for happy hour. During breakfast, they open at 7, and there's a short line. For breakfast, I got the Pete's Benedict and The Cure twice. Pete's Benedict was good, rich hollandaise sauce but couldn't eat it more than 1 day. The Cure is their version of ramen noodles with an Hawaiian twist, they put Kailua pork for the protein, along with an fried egg, and a bunch of veggies - carrots, bok choy, mushrooms, bean sprouts and onions. It was salty, but really good for a night of drinking. It's literally called the cure because it cures hangovers. lol. It was delicious. My husband got the blueberry and lilikoi pancakes one day, it was really good, very Hawaiian. And the kids menu was eggs, bacon and 3 fried potatoes. My toddler enjoyed it every day. They don't serve drinks until 8am, due to state laws. For HH we got the famous mai tai with lilikoi foam, they didn't do it well here. It was too much lemon, felt like you were drinking only lemon juice with some rum, but the lilikoi foam was consistent and good. Skip the mai tai and go to MonkeyPod, bartenders are more experienced there. Overall, we enjoyed breakfast here everyday.

I'll be honest, I wasn't sure what to expect. The reviews vary so greatly but glad we stopped by. Special sounded so good that we all got it and it did not disappoint. Everything was fresh, flavorful and delicious from the salad and veggies to the fish to the ravioli. I can't believe I'm saying this but I think the ravioli was the best part of a very scrumptious plate. Reservation was at 6:15pm on Tuesday. We arrived a little early and were seated. Our table was the perfect spot, closest to the ocean. Great for catching the sunset and people watching. Parked in their lot which was quick and easy. I will definitely be back. Would love to see this special get a permanent spot on the menu. It was so good!

Amazing breakfast! Getting up early and coming here was definitely worth it! This is an outside restaurant and the view of the water is amazing! Our waiter was very nice and made sure we had everything we needed. The food was very good. I was a little skeptical but my eggs were cooked perfectly along with my potatoes, I will say my bacon was a little too crunchy for my liking but it was still very good. I had a virgin Mai Thai and it was very good too! Very tropical tasting! Very fresh!

Sat outside the main restaurant since it was 78 degrees and not windy. Food was very tasty and ambience a little noisy from the waves hitting the shore and people also outside. Bar drinks are standard local taste.

Started off with coconut corn chowder, delicious! For drinks we had Mai Thais and Pino,so good.We all had Macadiam mahi mahi and swapped out rice for mash potatoes. It was the best dish we had our entire trip. For dessert we had coconut cream burlee and ice cream sandwich. Fantastic service and awesome ambiance too

While we were walking the Kaanapali Beach walkway we noticed a great dining area offering an awesome vibe and said we will have to come back here. So today we walked over to check out the Ulu Kitchen located in the Westin Maui. Short walk from the Marriott Maui Ocean Club down the pathway. Sat on the deck overlooking the beach and took in the ocean breezes. Staff were very attentive and quick to get us settled in to our table. Our server Brandon happily took our drink order bringing back some amazingly cocktails. The Mai Tai had a decadent foam on top unlike your normal Mai Tai that truly made the cocktail unique. Brandon took our order and we took in the beautiful Kaanapali coast and people watched, our food came and we started with a Tako (octopus) prepared in an escargot style served with house made focaccia bread. Great way to start and the sauce full of garlic and butter. The salad was great with the option of chicken or local fish and I took the fish. The smash burger was da bomb! Great quality beef on A soft brioche bun, the French fries had a unique flavor twist prepared with a little rosemary, very good. Loved the feel of the room (if you call it that-solid roof flowing onto lattice and then palapa style umbrellas and completely open on 3 sides. Great music in the background with the ocean views ocean breezes superb cocktails and delizioso food. This was our "Linner" late lunch and early dinner. Bravissimo Ulu Kitchen not only will we be coming back and staying at the Westin we will be coming back to your cucina to dine again. Mahalo Nui Loa. Ciao

Husband got a burger and said it was 8/10. I got coconut shrimp and it was good. I also got the pork pot stickers and they were good but the ginger was overpowering making my mouth kind of burn- so be aware. The famous Mai Thai: I'm so sad but I did not like it and sent it back. Ice cream sandwich was great. I ordered a lavender drink and that one was good! I think this restaurant is worth it for the views but over priced and over hyped for sure. I would not return. Our server was nice. I think there are better options around here I just haven't found them yet.

It's a beautiful restaurant, right on the harbor. Meals are family style and our server walked us through the menu, which was helpful because we would have definitely ordered too much if she hadn't. We shared the Hapa ramen, Tempura shrimp, Singapore Noodles, and Pork buns. The food was all great. I did find the drinks to be pretty pricey but to be fair the selection was very high-end japanese bourbons, and that's wasn't why I was there so spending $20-25 on a cocktail didn't entice me. While I highly recommend, I do think it was rare that we could seat as a walkin so be sure to book a reservation. They do charge, which is what turned us off since you never know how a family vacation day can go!

The flavors were really well balanced, and everything tasted fresh and thoughtfully prepared. But the absolute star of the meal for us were the Look Moore Fun noodles. OMG. They were incredible! So flavorful, with a perfect texture, and easily the favorite thing we ordered. We could have happily eaten an entire second serving. We also loved the overall atmosphere of Star Noodle. It has that fun, relaxed Maui feel where you can just sit back, enjoy some great food, and not feel rushed. The kind of place that makes you want to order a bunch of things to share. We've eaten at a lot of great places during this Maui trip, and Star Noodle definitely belongs on the list of places we'd come back to. The Look Moore Fun alone is enough to bring us back! Highly recommend Star Noodle if you're in Lahaina or anywhere on Maui.

Mixed with chow fun are char siu pork, scallop, shrimp, crab, in oyster sauce, sesame seeds, and bean sprouts. The flavors are vibrant with seafood tones. The large shrimp was tender, not hard or over cooked. The scallops were also very tender and the char sui was flavorful. The sauce had a hint of sweetness, very flavorful, and made this selection very good. Catch of the day - 5/5 Ono was the catch of the day. The fish was cooked to perfection. And the best rice with furikake, and then some pretty good macaroni salad? Only here as far as I know? Definitely not where I live in San Diego. The tuna was just as amazing as I remembered. It's easy to walk into the beach bar. And I liked the strawberry salad again, although the strawberries themselves were not that great. The salad is full of fat (nuts, goat cheese, and dressing), but the local lettuce is really good and overall it's a very tasty salad. And you can avoid the fat by getting the dressing on the side and eating around the goat cheese and not eating all the nuts. I was a little disappointed with my 1944 cocktail. It was definitely strong in alcohol content, but the flavor was super muted compared to last time. Decided to order the hula pie because we had a discount card giving us a free one with two entrees, which we had bought anyway. It's a hulking dessert that might be crowd pleasing with a table of kids. It's much too much for one or two people, and not that interesting. The entire restaurant has ceiling fans whirring. Table #120 is a dead zone, no breeze. No ceiling fan. When we mentioned this fact to our server she had a "standard" answer about how the heat is building because of the hurricane. BS! We had just walked to the restaurant along the beach to the with a strong breeze blowing at our backs. Table 120 is in a back section of the restaurant without a ceiling fan. When I complained to the hostess who seated us she began to tell me that the open air restaurant was entirely composed of hot tables. This place is busy because of where it is located.
