Sometimes it was hard to find him as he escaped into the inside deep into the kitchen. The first thing you notice when you walk in is how hot it is. They turned off the A/C (in sacramento weather! can you imagine?). The doors are all shut, with all the kitchen machinery and boilers and ovens running. The air stayed still and hot. Eventually I asked for the single staff, can I open the front door? He said yes. I opened it and finally, some fresh air! When we tried to order, they had fancy names for each ramen, but underneath it's really just the usual miso vs shoyu. The only difference is the single staff put in a LOT of garlic, like a lot. Taste is so-so The renovation is really nice though, and the tables/chairs are kept clean. Staff is ok friendly. Gave us utensils etc. Sometimes hard to find. Overall, probably an average ramen place.

The interior is focused and intimate, utilizing wood booths and panel walls creating a serene space that is almost ritualistic in a peaceful and unwinding way. The waitress was very Kind to us and the chef was prompt. On top of our orders, the chef brought out carved fruit for our kids twice! Before and after our meals. We thought this was such a great gesture and make the kiddos happy and feel special. The food was great! Love that they have a protein section using no rice to skip the carbs. I also tried a piece of the Spicy Yellowtail Roll and found it to have a nice flavor profile. The salmon teriyaki was clean and sweet, with a natural salmon flavor, and was tender and juicy. The portions were generous, making for a satisfying meal, and everyone enjoyed their food, although my companions thought the tempura was a bit too oily. Despite the slightly firm gyoza and oily tempura, the good sake, generous portions, and relaxed atmosphere made for a very enjoyable lunch. Wish we had known before we ordered so that we can try it. We appreciate the experience, attentive service, and their high-quality food.
