I called in the morning to request a birthday stamp for one of the cheesecakes, and they were able to accommodate this request the same-day and I picked it up a few hours later. I got the ube cheesecake as well as a matcha and black sesame tart. If you've never had Japanese cheesecake before, it has the consistency of a sponge cake but flavor of subtle cheesecake. You will probably be disappointed if you're expecting NY style cheesecake. The ube flavor was subtle and I didn't get the chance to eat it fresh so I can't comment on how jiggly it was when it was fresh. The matcha and black sesame tarts totally exceeded my expectations. The matcha and black sesame flavor came across strongly, and even my mom agreed it "wasn't too sweet," which is the ultimate compliment for an Asian dessert. The prices are super reasonable as well. Came here with my family for a treat after having some Korean BBQ at 356 due to the good reviews online. I generally like just about anything that relates to cheesecake. Walked in and noticed it was very nice and clean inside. We were greeted and offered a sample. It was some sort of sesame cake. Took a bite and forcefully at it. It was so bad. Thought maybe it was just that bread so we ordered the cheesecake and one of the smaller cheese tarts. Got home and cut up the cheesecake. As we entered the bakery, the employees were busily working- preparing, baking, cooling, and boxing their cakes in a very immaculate open kitchen where the operations could easily be viewed by their customers. They do it in large volumes. Their product is a round cake, maybe 6 inches in diameter by 2 inches high, with a clever imprint of their company logo baked into each cake. I am a lover of understated sweetness, so this is the perfect dessert for me...creamy, with a light texture and taste that begs for one more nibble. It's light, spongy, delicate, and definitely moist. It comes in many fascinating flavors. We chose the original (cream) flavor, but the revolving list of flavors was quite remarkable and played to a wide variety of tastes. The ube flavor was tasteless and didn't have much flavor at all. It tasted very plain. My husband also tried it and he passed on this one. I saw a review that said their cheesecake had mold underneath so I decided to give mine a look. And sure enough, there was mold. Fantastic. I would have never have thought to look underneath and need to fully expect it before eating. So proceed with caution when you're eating yours. This does explain why I started feeling ill after. It was denser than the rest so I would reccomend having a smaller slice but it was absolutely delectable. It still kept the fluffy airy texture as before but instead a bit more soft and slightly denser which complimented the ube flavor perfectly as it melted in your mouth. I spent my time eating this slice as it packed lots of flavor so you could savor it in each bite. Absolutely amazing 9/10. Lastly, the limited time cherry blossom cheesecake. This one was perfect I absolutely loved this cheesecake by preference. It was fluffy airy and light that each bite felt like eating flowery clouds. You could taste the cherry blossom and they even included a cherry blossom in it. The cherry blossom flower they added was a bit sweet but it complimented how light the cheesecake was. I love flowery light teas and this was the perfect cake for this. Every bite was savored and I ate a whole small cake of this for my dessert. More like a super fluffy cake. The flavors are definitely more delicate. Far less sweet than American cheesecakes. The basque cheesecakes are more akin to the western type - rich and creamy. Personally I think the basque was the best. You don't see many bakeries offer basque cheesecakes so it's nice to have a local bakery that offers it. Happy to see more variety of food options. I have ordered the burnt bask cheesecake and it was very similar to the Philippine leche flan. I probably won't order that again when it's something that I can make myself. This time around, I ordered the oreo cheesecake and one blueberry tart. The tart was amazing and smooth. Unfortunately, I only bought one and will need to go back and buy more. Lol. As for the Ore cheesecake. The texture is smooth and if you are looking for one that's not too sweet, I recommend this one. It has enough flavors without being too over powering.
