SO GOOD! LOVE THE CHEESE-TARTS AND GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE! Food: 5/5 I walked in for dessert, not realizing what they sold. Cakey- cheesecake?? I sampled it and it was heavenly! I was so overstuffed from quarters (Korean bbq right across the way) and it was totally worth the stop. The cheese tart was big, thick, and creamy! I will get 20 more next time I'm in the area! Price: 5/5 $4.50 was worth it, in my opinion! The cakes there are about $28.00, and if you like angel cake meets fluffy cheesecake it's worth the price! All around: 5/5 The customer service was great, the prices are doable, and the place is squeaky clean. Cannot wait to come back! read more

Amaaaazingly delicious! This place never disappoints. We got our usual variety of tarts and tried their ube Mochi and crumble cookies as well. Their tarts are pure perfection! THESE ARE SO FLUFFY AND SMOOTH AND THICK ALL AT THE SAME TIME. I think these cheese cakes taste so good, I would love to get more of them and try every flavor! We went to a location in Northern California and happened to be in Ktown for lunch and found this place less than 5 minutes away! The cheesecakes are so light and fluffy but dangerous because you'll be able to eat half or a whole one without realizing it! We've tried the original, ube, Oreo and yuzu (special during May 2023) flavors. The non-original flavors have a nice hint of the filling without being too overpowering. The price is also great, $13 per cake. It's located in a structure with a lot of other business so not entirely sure what the parking situation is like. The entrance is not facing 6th street but you have to go into the structure to get to the store. read more

I was a bit confused but figured out this place is wedged inside the little plaza nearby the kbbq/ ramen shop! 100% the BEST cheese tarts I've ever tried. The matcha one was great and the ube or original were my fav from what I tried. Also got the ube Japanese soufflé cheesecake and it was so delectable. I am definitely coming back! Late at night, the service was still great and the employee was very helpful. It's a bit small inside but very clean. I can't wait to try different flavors when I visit again. 12/10! read more

Too FIRE! Uncle Tetsu gets it right when it's come's to Japanese Cheesecakes. I have tried both the Ube & Oreo flavors, they are both delicious. I personally like the Oreo a little better but I would give them both 5/5 stars. The cakes are light and fluffy, not too sweet, but perfect for dessert. I once ate an entire Ube cheesecake with one other person in one sitting, do what you want with that info! read more

They place is small and there are no places to sit but that's because it's just a pick up and go place. The service is fast and quick, you order they box you pay and go quick and easy. Now the cakes were super good. We go the Oreo cake which is by far my favorite it's a cheesecake but without having the super heavy feeling after eating it. They aren't but it's more of a 2-3 person cake. And yes I've been here 2 times already and they have been consistently amazing and delicious. Yes I will continue coming here when my wife and I need our fix met. read more

I don't know why it took me so long to come here, but if you're looking to eat cheesy fluffy clouds of goodness that holds up while you're in need of a quick dessert in the parking lot, or haunched over your kitchen counter, this is the place to go. The past 2-3 years I've been on journey of trying new foods. Since I'm always hearing about his place from clients, family/friends, and social media. It was a no brainer, I had to try it. It's tucked away in Korea-town with limited parking. Most the areas nearby are $10 to park. Thankfully the parking lot guy let me park for free as I was just picking up. As I entered I notice it was extremely clean and I was immediately greeted by this friendly gentleman who offered me free samples. He explained the various types of cheesecakes and which ones are the most popular among them. I ended getting the Oreo, Ube, Strawberry, and the Burnt Ube Cheesecake (the best one). read more

Let me Tell you about this fluffy cloud Japanese style cheesecake. It isn't your average American style heavy dense cheesecake. These are light and fluffy like clouds. Perfect with coffee or tea. Flavors are not bold or strong light and a touch/kiss of flavor. We had a sample of the Ube and ended up buying two of them it was that good! Cute little cake shop that started in Japan. I ordered the basque cheesecake. Actual product looks just like their pictures. Taste: delicious. Sweet enough but not too sweet. Less is more and they've embraced that. Slight notes of citrus. Lemon? Yuzu? Whatever it is, it works. Taste is not one dimensional. Texture is a bit lighter and less dense than some American cheesecakes which, yet again, is a good thing. I didn't feel weighed down after eating a slice. Place appears clean and inviting. There were samples of ube cheesecake at the counter, which was also delicious. I subtract one star simply because the $23 price for a small, round cheesecake is a bit on the pricey side. I'll concede that it is not your average cheesecake. Certainly not out of line with the costs nowadays, but I would have liked to see this prices at $20 or less to feel more value. Oh well, lighten the wallet and widen the waist...it's all about balance. I would absolutely go back and have it again. read more

The whole cake is 363 grams which brings the calories to a total of 1168. This puts a slice (quarter) at 292 calories. Given that I've never tried Japanese cheesecakes, I cannot compare it to others but what I can say is that I enjoyed my introduction to it. Upon eating the original you notice a very mild cream flavor. I want this flavor to be much richer. The cake is airy, fluffy, light, & not sweet. I want the cream flavor to be stronger! This is what I imagine eating cloud would be like haha. Moreover, there was a pleasant employee at this cute storefront. He's what I've tried; Original and Oreo cheesecake, original cheese tart and chocolate cheese tart. They were all amazing! Light, airy, soft and melts in your mouth! I have to say that their tarts are the best thing they sell. I can't wait to try more flavors. They do change every few months. This is the perfect dessert if you don't like overly sweet things. Service was fast and friendly just make sure you check their hours before you go because they are a bit odd. Also it's a pick up and go type of establishment, no seating. read more

We tried the cheese tarts and they did not disappoint! The filling was so light and silky and the flavors did not overwhelm. Our favorite was the ube - it had the perfect amount of ube flavor with a hint of vanilla. We also really enjoyed the tart crust. The crust is more dense compared to others with a more flaky crust and was strong enough to support the filling without it becoming soggy. Would definitely recommend for anyone craving dessert after kbbq or any other meal. read more

In the morning rush they can be a little busy but the staff work hard. On a recent visit I saw people eating their steak breakfast burritos, so I ordered one for myself and a coworker. The burritos were reasonable size, the steak was seasoned well, and the breakfast burrito had potatoes in it (I only like breakfast burritos that have potatoes/hash browns/tots in it). Keep supporting the classics, not just because they've been around for a while, but because they have strong products and service.

Five stars for Uncle Tetsu's! This place is a dessert haven, and I can't get enough of their cheesecakes and cookies. Let's talk about cheesecake - it's like biting into a cloud of creamy deliciousness. Super light, perfectly sweet, and it just melts in your mouth. The regular cheesecake, ube, and pandan coconut are all worth a try. Uncle Tetsu's cheesecakes are on another level! Tried the Ube cookie on a whim, was pleasantly surprised. Uncle Tetsu is all about texture. This cheesecake is insanely fluffy. It is light, airy, and nothing like a dense New York style cheesecake. I ordered the classic cheesecake and it honestly felt like eating a soft cloud. It is gently sweet, very creamy, and easy to keep eating without feeling heavy. The texture is the standout. The Peach Jasmine Tea was delicious, and the Hibiscus Cooler was phenomenal--not overly sweet, which is exactly what I look for. Great job! We'll definitely be back!

The strawberry flavor was subtle, but in a good way. The frosting was light and too sugary. I also liked how beautiful the cake was presented with the smooth cream and garnishes. However, I wish the cake was soaked since this was supposed to be a "tiramisu." The only tiramisu part about this cake was the mascarpone cream. Additionally, the cake was pretty pricey at $46 for such a small size. I could probably finish this with up to 2 other people, so it's not ideal for a bigger group. I got this cake delivered via DoorDash for a co-worker's birthday and the process was pretty easy. Overall, a good quality cake. I would get a cake from here again, but only if I'm willing to spend more and don't need to feed too many people.

Unfortunately, what should have been a pleasant little stop was pretty much ruined by the service. I first ordered an iced tea and was also going to buy my friend a pistachio macaron. The woman helping me asked whether I wanted a single or double. I wasn't sure and took a moment to look at the display and ask my friend. There was nobody else waiting behind us, but the employee immediately seemed impatient and kept pressing me: was I getting the macaron or not? Her tone felt unnecessarily rude and rushed, so finally I just said, "Never mind about the macaron," and ordered my iced tea and cheesecake. Then it was my friend's turn. She ordered macarons and an iced coffee and also asked for a glass of water. The employee told her they charge for water--and then said the water had to be paid for in cash. It's illegal to charge for water. My friend paid, but the whole interaction struck both of us as very strange. From beginning to end, this employee came across as impatient, unfriendly, and almost angry that we were there. We weren't demanding, the store wasn't busy, and we were paying customers buying several items. There was simply no reason for us to be treated that way. The unfortunate thing is that the food was actually good. I liked the cheesecake, my friend enjoyed her macarons, and my iced tea was fine. I would have happily returned based on the food alone. But customer service matters. I don't know whether this woman was an employee, manager, or owner, but if management is reading this, I hope they address the way customers are being treated. One employee's attitude can completely ruin what otherwise could have been a lovely experience.

The ice cream was incredibly creamy, fresh, and not overly sweet, which made every bite enjoyable. There were plenty of toppings and flavors to choose from, so it was easy to customize exactly what we wanted. The place was cute and cozy. I got the strawberry rolled rice cream and it was pretty good. It was cute and was kind of pricey. But definitely worth it. The staff was friendly, patient, and made the whole experience even better. If you're looking for a unique dessert that's as fun to watch as it is to eat, I highly recommend checking out Holy Roly!
