Incredible food, great service. The Mussels appetizer has a wonderful, unique taste with the saffron and broth they use. The Paella is perfectly tasty and is enough for two to share. The Spicy Seafood Tagliatelle is very flavorful but not too spicy. The Salt Cod Croquettes are a nice appetizer as well. read more

Been eyeing this place for a while and finally made it for dinner. Decided to sit at the bar and get a few of the small plate selections such as the mussels, tartar, shisito peppers and cucumber salad. I was happy with all selections. The mussels portion was pretty big and flavorful. I will say that the tartar was standard. Not the best, not the the worst. I wish it would have had the egg yolk on it and less of the glaze. They also have a pretty good wine selections and the bar tender was more than happy to provide a tasting. On Tuesdays they even offer half off bottles!!! read more

Really love this new spot in the Prado. Beautifully decorated inside and on the patio. Fun bar scene that will allow you to book the area for private events. Excellent wine selection and cocktail menu. I've enjoyed both lunch and dinner here several times and the food is always fantastic. The Tagine dish was superb and I've tried almost all of the tapas and have never been disappointed. Great for date night or larger events!! read more

This place is awesome. Great ambiance, amazing wine options, super service and suuuuuucccchhh drool-worthy food. I can't come here with getting the hanger steak and the patatas bravas. You may think "oh steak and potatoes, how original." You're wrong. It's so good and consistently perfect each time. Last time I was there I brought a friend who was passing through town on her move to Denver. We had drinks and an incredible meal, so much fun we shut the place down. Our server was so gracious about it. But my friend forgot her phone there after we left. Our waiter came back to the restaurant that night to get it back to us, as she was driving across the country the next morning and couldn't continue her move without her phone. This could have been SO BAD for her, but their great staff saved the day. Really can't think of any place I feel as confident recommended as Under The Cork Tree. read more

Wow all these above average Tapas places are popping up everywhere. I guess the old trend is coming back. What is new is old, and what is old is new again. Under the Cork Tree used to be where Joli Kobe is in the Prado. They have a huge menu spanning various cuisines from Italy, Spain, Middle East, and possibly other places in the European region. I was worried about the diverse menu. Can they provide great food for all these different types of cuisine? They have a ton of Tapas to choose from. You get choice anxiety if you come with a few people. There's so much stuff to get, you worry that you're missing out. The tapas are hefty too. About 3-4 tapas could be enough for 2 people. We tried about 3-4 and they all seemed decent. My favorite would be the octopus and the meatballs. My most disappointing would be the Duck Basteeya. The meat was flavored well, and I liked the puff pastry it came in. But the meat was just too dry. We also tried the Organic Moroccan Chicken Tagine. Again, the chicken was dry. I don't know if it was because the chicken was organic or if it was the cooking technique. Also, tangines require a long time to cook. I'm not sure if they cooked it long enough for the meat to be falling off the bone and for the flavors to permeate throughout the dish. It was dry, and the flavor was lacking. Also, there was no stew at the bottom. I don't know if that was intentional. I would've expected some sort of liquid in the bottom, but it was bone dry. I wonder if it evaporated off somehow? Some dishes were good. Some dishes weren't. The service was good. I wonder if this is more of a hangout, happy hour spot than a place serious about its food. I did enjoy my time here. But I wished the dishes were better. 3.5 stars. read more

My review isn't based on food as we didn't get to order. Our service, or rather lack thereof was HORRIBLE. Our waiter repeatedly checked on and served those to the left and right of us but wouldn't come over to our table or even make eye contact. The only reason I was able to order the drinks was that I told him upon his initial stop by our table to bring us water. Which he gave no warm welcome, or even inquired whether we wanted to start with something. His intention was clearly to place the waters down and continue serving his other guest. We ordered 2 red sangrias which tasted like soda water with a splash of grapefruit. Absolutely disgusting. I had to flag him down to order a different drink (which I never received) After 30 mins of not receiving any service or getting our orders placed we advised the host that we would like to settle our bill and leave due to the lack of service. He apologized and didn't accept payment for the cocktails (of which we never drank) This was a business dinner and my client was so excited to try this place. NEVER AGAIN. We had a large party reservation on a Tuesday night. Arrived early and sat at the bar. Took forever to get drinks and the bartender was very rude - it wasn't even busy. Appetizers were okay but nothing special. Arugula beat salad - the way they do the goat cheese is gross. It's like a cream cheese smear on the plate. What really got me was the seafood paella. I was absolutely appalled. There was zero sign of "crispy rice". It was pure mush and too salty. The seafood was NOT fresh and rubbery. $34 for a few small pieces is ridiculous. read more

I took my husband here for Father's Day and this place was nothing less than amazing. They have an extensive wine collection and the server was well versed on my exact pallet for both food and wine after we had a small conversation about my interest. The patatas bravas was not up to par, and the food was a little overpriced for the quality, compared to others similar restaurants I've tried. My first Tapas ... no longer a virgin We sat at the bar for a lovely drink and moved to a table. Or rather a sofa and a table...she's got a bum knee right now so that made us very comfortable. We had the artichokes, in fact... we had two orders of them! We had the meatballs, scallops, olives and almonds, and the dates wrapped in bacon... so many things I wasn't sure I would like... but everything was amazing! Met some girlfriends for Sunday brunch at this place. I'd never been before. Always love trying new places. Well I can say glad I came and will not be going back. At least for Sunday brunch. When I got there over half of the food was gone. They just weren't replenishing anything. You had to ask them is the pizza gone? Do you have anymore grits? Where is the pasta? Now I will say that once you asked they said they could make it. But no, grits take a while (unless you're using instant. Yuck). So I don't have time to wait 1/2 hour for you to make decent grits. And could the hostess maybe get off their phone when customers arrive to be seated. Instead of still looking at your phone and pointing to where the buffet is. Maybe dinner or a lunch other than Sunday brunch may be better, but I won't be there to try it. read more

Food was just okay and the service was terrible. We walked in on a Sunday night and there was barely a soul in there. Noticed what looked to be one of the chefs conversing with a table next to us. THAT table had lots of love and she kept bringing out all sorts of food. Us, yeah, we were an afterthought. Finally, a guy approached and asked what he could help us with... I don't know, food and drink perhaps? A menu? So many employees on their phones, which erks the heck out of me! We finally got drinks and then the server was telling us about half-price wines, which it turns out are only available on Mondays, so why is he showing it to us? We finally ordered and the food was not only semi-warm but not cooked properly. I won't elaborate on what we ate as honestly its not worth discussing. The wine was good and the atmosphere was pretty, hence the 3 stars. Not impressed with the staff or the food on this particular night and not sure we'll try them again. read more

Finally a local restaurant with exceptional service and attention to detail.! We had a corporate vendor dinner with full courses. We all commented how each dish got better and better as the items were brought out. We started out with meat & cheese, thin toast, walnuts...Somewhere in the middle Salmon & Cous Cous, Paella and some other meat dishes that this vegan lady doesn't eat. But, everyone had nothing but great things to say! They accommodated vegans/vegetarian with tasty dishes as well. It all ended with multiple dessert options such as Tiramisu and Creme' Brûlée. I must admit, after such great cuisine the dessert was lack luster in my opinion. However, I was so impressed that I will be hosting a personal event there very soon! We wanted to take our kids out for a fun tasting tour. We started at Under the Cork Tree and it did not disappoint! Everything we tried was really quite enjoyable but our favorite was the stuffed dates! Omigoodness! We had several other small plates, all delicious, but the Parillada was perfect for the table! The four of us left stuffed! The service was slow at first but when they noticed their mistake they made sure and gave us double the attention to make up for it! Wow! What a gem! Decided to go here relatively last minute on a Friday night and was able to get an 8:15 reservation with no issue. The food was fantastic! A lot of Mediterranean tapas style food on the menu. They also do meat and cheese boards. We had the fried artichokes, the octopus and the chicken tagine. The chicken tagine was so aromatic that my mouth was watering before it even arrived at our table! The food definitely gets 5 stars in my book. The only reason why I'm only giving 4 stars is because of the wine menu. They have a small reserve list ranging from $90-$900 bottles. And only 3 wines available by the glass. They had a napa red blend, a Pinot Grigio, and a Pinot Noir. For a restaurant named "Under the Cork Tree," I just expected the wine list to be a little more expansive. Overall, this place has a really nice ambience and great food. I would definitely recommend it. They also have a brunch menu with bottomless mimosas and $5 Bloody Mary's which I'm looking forward to trying. Update on 5/15: Tried the brunch menu, and not impressed. While the Bloody Mary is fabulous, they have to work on the food..... especially poaching eggs. My mom and I ordered eggs Benedict and the eggs came out hard boiled, bright yellow and hard. We sent them back, and I laughed when our plates returned with poached eggs that were completely transparent. Really though, the rest of the food here is fantastic, but not so much the brunch menu. read more

This was a favorite restaurant of ours pre-Covid. We've been several times now in 2021. Tonight was a disappointment. The seafood/pasta dish was just 'fair'. Their Greek salad comes with cocktail tomatoes ... and majority of them were over-ripe, mushy and bitter. I mentioned this to our waiter and asked if they could bring me some other tomatoes ... and he brought me a small container of more over-ripe tomatoes. The marinated chicken served on skewers was tasteless and the brussels sprouts were too hard for our liking. They do have a nice area to eat outside. Their servers do not wear masks ... which I'm not a fan of ... in case any of you are interested. read more

This place was wonderful! Seating was distanced and food came out so quickly. We ordered a nice Malbec and the boys ordered Pappy van Winkle. I think they had 10 and 15 year pappy. We started with calamari, lamb merguez, Brussels sprouts, octopus a la plancha, truffle cacio e pepe, and pork ribs. The octopus was thick and the little potatoes were delicious. The cacio e pepe was sooo good. It took about 20 mins or so for the seafood paella, and it was wonderful filled with with lobster, prawns, and mussels. We also ordered patatas bravas, risotto, bolognese, and shrimp fettucine. The shrimp fettuccine was spicy but filled with great flavors. The bolognese was good, but I didn't care for the risotto maybe cause everything else was so flavorful. We also got a 2 cheese plate with iberico, and I think toasted almond which was so good. Our server Alex was very attentive and nice. He served us a fudge like cake slice with tahini ice cream for my boyfriends birthday. Lots of great food! read more

Had heard great things about this place, but it didn't quite live up. The service was not great. Brussels sprouts were extremely salty, steak was tough, carrots were burnt and too crunchy at the same time, beets were undercooked, and paella was disappointing. We got the seafood one and it did not have an abundance of seafood, nor did it have the signature crispy bottom. It was overly sweet and too saucy and seemed to be rushed. This used to be one of our favorite restaurants in town before covid. Perhaps the chef has changed but the meals and recipes don't taste the same. The walnut salad is pretty much just walnuts now. No pomegranates were in it as described on the menu and hardly any arugula. It used to be a nice hearty salad and now it's 95% walnuts. They had the best falafel in town which is no longer on the menu as well as a delicious Gypsy salad which is gone. The Greek salad was bland and oily. The hanger steak was okay but less flavorful than before. The grilled salmon was extremely salty it was almost inedible. The only thing that was decent was the spicy seafood tagliatelle. I'm not sure we will return again to our favorite restaurant and I'm very sad about the quality of the recipes now. read more

Came in on a Friday night. Trendy medium sized restaurant. It was a tsunami outside that night but still a good amount of people there. We were seated quickly. We had a few tapas because we like to taste a bunch of things. We had the crispy lamb ribs in a sweet and spicy sauce. Fantastic. The Albondigas which is veal and pork meatballs in a spicy tomato sauce. I don't know how they keep the meat in a ball since it was so tender. Very good. The Medjool Dates are stuffed with chorizo and wrapped in bacon with a spicy tomato sauce. Loved them but the mister thought they were too sweet. Ending with the Moroccan Duck Basteeya which is a pastry with almonds, dates, and an orange blossom. Pretty good but the mister also that this was too sweet. Decent prices for tapas. I came to Under the Cork Tree with a friend of mine on a weeknight. I was pretty impressed that the restaurant had a healthy crowd for a weeknight. The service was good - sat us right away and checked in periodically throughout dinner. I ordered two tapas: the crispy artichokes and the ahi tuna. The ahi tuna was good, but I wasn't crazy about the pairing with the zoodles. The crispy artichokes were good. I didn't order a glass of wine or a cocktail, but if I go back I will. The food was pricy for the portions we got. Overall, it was a good experience, but not one I'd rush back for. read more

I have been here before and it's a nice place for tapas or dinner. We had reservations and sat immediately once we arrived. Our server Vlad was personable and attentive at first. He took our drink orders and was back to take our appetizer selections after that. For tapas, I had the Roasted Red Pepper dip with Pita. It was good, came with pomegranate seeds on top, very unique! For dinner I ordered the Patatas and the Fish of the day, both tapas. I didn't not like the fish, it was halibut. It was cooked just fine, but the lemon butter sauce did not have much flavor and the fish just fell flat. The potatoes were yummy and the dipping sauce was great! We looked at the dessert menu but did not see anything that spoke to us. It was a nice meal with great company. read more

Very nice restaurant with a really good happy hour special! The $5 martinis were SUPER strong so please know that they are not skimpy with the alcohol. The tapas were all really good and they were cheap enough for us to order several different ones to taste them all. The service was pretty terrible though. We had to ask customers in the restaurant to track down an employee so we can sit. He told us to sit ourselves so we sat outside... but then after 10 minutes we were told happy hour didn't apply to outdoor seats so we had to move inside. I think that was something that should be expressed when (or should I say if) you greet your customers at the door and sit them. read more

Sangrias, paella, and tapas! Sounds like a great place to me! I've been there twice now, and had a wonderful dining experience each time. Service: The servers, bartenders, and chef have came out to welcome and thank me each time. I feel valued as a customer, and that they truly want to share with you their enthusiasm. Food: the head bartender and chef has always steered me into the right direction for the best dishes and other items that would compliment them. I usually end up ordering more, and being thankful that I did. Each item has been unique so far. Atmosphere: it's very inviting with the help of the staff, and changes in a positive way depending on the time of the day. Our experience here didn't start out as the best but, it did get much better! We had an 8:00 reservation. We were told, when we arrived, that the party at our table was doing dessert. We grabbed drinks at the bar to wait. By 8:40, we still hadn't been seated. We asked the hostess and, again, were told that the table was doing dessert. We asked to speak to a manager and they were nice and said there was nothing they could do. We got it that you can't make the table leave. I think learning for the restaurant is to not book tables so close in time? It really didn't seem like a staffing issue because the service was not slow once we got seated. We were finally sat at 8:45. We were immediately attended to and given some complimentary apps for the inconvenience. Our hostess (wish I remembered her name) was amazing and the manager stopped by a few times, as well, to check in. We did all tapas and it came out quickly. Everything was good!! The dates, the meatballs, and the date cake dessert were some favorites. The service and food were worth the wait but, just not the ideal start to our experience. We would go back again! read more
