The 45 min wait (for the pizza to be ready) was a little tedious but it was so worth it!! It might sound like a long wait but I think it proves that they make everything fresh and delicious. Just make sure you have all the time in the world to chill and wait for a bit. Extra $3 for every topping you add! We ordered the bright flame veggie deep dish pizza and the garlic knots. Both were high quality and kept well as leftovers. Only wish the deep dish had more cheese. Flavors were on point otherwise for the pizza. The garlic knots lacked garlic! They were more parmigiana and butter flavored. read more

The pizza here is pretty good. I especially love their barbecue chicken pizza and New York style pizza. I know they carry pasta and some other dishes but I haven't tried them. Seating inside is on the limited side but they do have an outdoor patio that they share with some of the other adjacent restaurants. read more

The deep dish pizzas are pretty good though I do wish the sizing could be a bit bigger.I wouldn't mind a higher price either if it meant getting a larger pizza. I also tried their calzone, garlic knots, and wings. The calzone is good though I believe they use ricotta in it and ricotta isn't my favorite cheese because it doesn't have much flavor to it, but the bread and cheese to pepperoni ratio was good. For the wings, I wish they'd been cooked a bit longer though that may just be personal preference as they were cooked well but the skin wasn't crispy. And lastly, the garlic knots. They were fine but I wouldn't say you're missing out if you don't get them. Overall I recommend trying their deep dish because based on those alone, it's definitely worth it to pay this place a visit. read more

OH! MY! GOODNESS! I am here in the Los Angeles area on business this evening and just didn't feel like going out for food. I picked up Yelp went through and saw the Union Pizza Company. As I perused their menu I happened upon their deep dish pizza. I ordered the Bright Fame Vegetable Deep-Dish Pizza, and it was delivered very quickly! I open the box and the smell of this lovely creation and it looks so good I could not wait to dive in. It is definitely a spicy pizza but it's not over the top. It made my nose run which is a good thing but oh my goodness. If you like spicy food and you love pizza, you must order this. I ordered the small and it's a little bit too much for one person and will make great leftovers! Every single time I'm back in this area I promise you this is what I'll be eating!! The delivery was way earlier than predicted, which is a blessing from the traffic gods. read more

I ordered the Union pie, having lived in Chicago many years, I hesitate when I hear "Chicago style pizza".I was told before about this pizza place and how good their chicago style pizza was, I myself had been there about 6 years ago; but my last experience was totally different at that time and promised myself I would never be back. I decided to give it another try. I am HAPPY I did! This time I was PLEASANTLY surprised ! The sauce was hearty, the ingredients tasted fresh, there was plenty of cheese, the crust was crunchy, the pie held up when we cut it. It took about 45 min but it was worth the wait ! The pizza is excellent with a crust that lays the foundation for a tasty pie. The sauce is zesty and flavorful. The cheese is gooey but not so gooey you could play it like a guitar string. Toppings seem fresh and baked to satisfaction. But the garlic knots. The garlic knots are moist on top, layered with butter and small garlic chunks! Get out of town! I should stop right here. I keep telling my little cousin we're better off saving all our pizza change and buying a ticket to Chi Town, for a killer weekend trip: 30 lbs heavier and hundreds of dollars later, I'm sure we'll be satisfied! LOL. Union Pizza Company has their own little spin on Chicago style pizza. We tried the BRIGHT FLAME VEGGIE: Fire Roasted Red Peppers, Sweet Onions, Roasted Garlic, Chipotle Pepper Spike, Tomato Sauce & Fresh Basil. It can be made mild or hot. Wasn't as spicy as we thought it would be! Also praise God because I couldn't taste the garlic, the basil tasted deliciously fresh, as did the peppers. The crust is soft and flaky at the same time, great balance of dough! However, if you're one of those deep dish people who is addicted to the thick carby stuff, this is not the joint for you! Union Pizza is located in the Bristol Farms plaza off Rosecrans. Although this plaza gets pretty busy, there is always ample parking. You order at the front and they will bring your pizza out. FYI, even if you eat in you can still call to order your deep dish pizza because it will take up to 30 mins to cook. Call it in! I actually really like deep dish pizza, but I think their regular crust pizza is the better choice. I got the Eastside which was ham with mushrooms and artichokes. Ironically, my husband's thin crust proscuitto pizza with bell peppers and onions was way better! The problem with their deep dish is not that it had too much dough (the crust is very good here), but there is just too much of that sweet tomato sauce! I even asked for light sauce since I knew it would be tomato overload, but it was still all I could taste. Alana M got the Bright Flame Veggie pizza which had a spicy chipotle tomato sauce and I would definitely order that over their original sauce. I will say their salads are huge and filled with tons of fresh veggies. They also have pastas and sandwiches if you want some other entrees. It is a nice place to share a meal with friends, but not my go-to pizza spot. read more

After a long day of studying, a friend and I were looking for some dinner to refuel our brains. Pizza sounded perfect! We looked through some of the pictures on Yelp, and with one look at the garlic knots, we were sold! Parking Large lot with plenty of parking in the Manhattan Marketplace plaza Service: Employees were friendly, and the pizza came out relatively fast (though at the time, it seemed like an eternity since we were starving!). When our food came out, the server brought us extra plates and napkins. We had to go up to the counter ourselves for utensils and cups of water. Food: - Garlic Knots - Pizza dough baked and tossed in olive oil, garlic, and grated cheese mix. An order comes with twelve. These are AMAZING! They came fresh out of the oven, warm and soft! The knots are quite doughy, so they will definitely fill you up. Comes with a nice big cup of marinara sauce for dipping! Yum, I would return just for these. - Bianca Pizza - Garlic cream sauce, ricotta, and sautéed spinach. This pizza is available in thin crust only. The garlic cream sauce didn't seem to be as garlic-y as I was hoping for. Maybe it was because I had just eaten lots of chopped-up garlic from the knots, but the cream sauce seemed a little bland. The ricotta was smooth and creamy, however, and they were very generous with the amount of spinach on the pizza. Overall, it was so-so. I think I would enjoy a pizza with tomato sauce more, so I'll have to try that next time! read more

Union pizza is kind of like a hybrid pizza place. There are both New York and Chicago style pizzas. It's like heaven on earth for when you can't decided what you want. Or when you're hanging out with someone from New York and someone from Chicago at the same time. That happened to me, and these two guys are friends! The pizza here was tasty. I had both a thin crust pizza (NY Style) with sausage and mushrooms. The pizza toppings were LOADED and a thick deep dish covered with meat and loaded with sauce Chicago style pizza. It's not Lou Malnati's but it'll do. It was a good 2 inches high with a nice crust. For these pizzas, the price was a little high. But not too high. I would come back here if I were in the mood for pizza again. And, I would probably come around lunch time. They have good specials then. There are one, and two slice pizza specials. I ordered online the Meatball House Deep-Dish Pizza via Yelp and the pizza was ready within 30 minutes of ordering. This definitely isn't your average pizza. The diameter is smaller than a normal pizza, but you have to understand it's over twice as thick also. Think of their Chicago style pizzas more like pies with thick fillings. On the bottom layer is the pizza crust, followed by a gooey layer of cheese, then the meat, and mozarella sauce sits atop of it all. If I went elsewhere, I'm sure I can down 4 slices no problem, but cut your numbers in half if you plan on eating here. Each slice will fill you up twice as much as normal pizza. If you're looking for a pizza "pie," then you will definitely enjoy their unique offering. read more

Maybe I'm just not a fan of deep dish pizza or we just came at an off day when they had lots of to go/delivery/catering orders but the food was okay. My bf and I got the union pie 6" deep dish and the garlic knots (since everyone raves about them). The pizza was okay and the garlic knots didn't really taste like garlic. And once you dip it in the marinara sauce, it's just like eating breadsticks. Nothing really stood out other than the service. The guys working were really nice and seemed pretty busy. When we were walking in, I saw someone with like 15 boxes of pizza being put into their delivery car with more food added to that. So I probably did come at a time when they were rushed to get those orders out (When I checked to see their hours on yelp, it said their delivery time was 60min+). read more

I decided to give Union Pizza Company another shot today for lunch and boy was I surprised. I pre ordered via phone a whole large union deep dish pizza and when i came in, it was ready. I was greeted by a very nice female this time who was super helpful. My pizza was ready as promised (30 minutes for the deep dish). We ordered it to go but decided to have a slice there. We sat down on the inside and this time the pizza was warm with cheese that was pretty gooey. The crust was perfectly crisp. Once we bit into the slice, it honestly felt like a different place that we had visited two weeks prior. The meat in the union pizza was perfectly seasoned and there wasn't a huge amount of grease hanging out at the bottom. We liked it so much we had to stay for another slice. Super quality pizza and great service. Will be back! read more

I went to Chicago for the first time a few years ago and had a few gorge myself silly days of Chicago deep dish pizza. Since then, I have not had Chicago deep dish until I discovered Union Pizza. I was so excited to try it out! The restaurant is small inside (typical pizza place) but they have a spacious, shaded patio outside that is great for eating and relaxing. Also they are in a shoppig plaza so there is ample parking. Deep Dish Pizza- If you want a Chicago deep dish, the menu says it takes 30 minutes and is around $27 for a large pie (plan accordingly, I probably would have called the order in if I realized the cooking time). The pie itself was definitely "thinner" than most of the Chicago deep dishes I had before, but I actually liked it was not overwhelmingly thick like some of the ones I ate in Chicago. Buffalo Chicken pizza - solid pizza, they managed to get a perfect amount of buffalo sauce flavor without having to douse the buffalo sauce on it. The garlic knots were average, but nothing spectacular. I look forward to coming back next time I am in the Southbay Area! read more
