Wife and I came here for a school fundraiser. We had a nice time and decent food. It's been quite a while since I was here last. But it's a chain and there's been no real changes to the layout of the restaurant with lots of tables and TVs. The menu has definitely changed. One side is all the pizzas and the other has burgers, steaks, pastas, and more. It's like Uno could get rid of the Pizza in their name as there's so much more offerings. They also have a full bar. Today, we tried the fried calamari and split a regular sized Detroit style square pizza with lots of toppings. The calamari was nicely crisped with tomatoes, banana peppers, and a ramekin of pizza sauce. The Detroit pizza had six cuts and was extra delicious except that all the toppings were not evenly distributed throughout the pizza. It's like it got sideways before going through the oven. But, we both liked it. Our young server was attentive and friendly. Only error she made was to bring us the wrong bill. $37 for the appetizer, pizza, and one soda including tax but not tip. This Uno's location has always been a solid dining option for me and my family. My wife and I would visit for date nights back in the day when they used to have an incredible craft beer list, but these days they are a bit more focused on supporting some local brewers and seem to stay away from more exotic brews. (They had over a dozen craft beer choices on our last visit which is still a great offering) The inside set up has always been nice with a large roomy sports bar area to the right, tables by a fireplace, booths and tables in the main seating area and an enclosed porch if you want to rent the area out for an event. I've never had a bad server and they are always prompt. In recent years we've taken the kids to a couple of events like decorating Easter eggs and a lunch with Santa. Food wise - I'm not the biggest fan of their deep dish pizza, but the kids love constructing their own personal thin crust pizza. My wife and I usually order the Shrimp & Crab dip off of the Appetizer menu. I've also order the wings from time to time and haven't been disappointed. Off the pasta menu I've enjoyed the Rattlesnake pasta - Sautéed chicken and spicy alfredo tossed with penne pasta and topped with cheddar and slices of jalapeño. Sandwich wise they offer a bunch of burgers, but I usually lean towards the BBQ Bacon Chicken Sandwich. On our most recent visit I had the Turkey Avocado BLT - "your classic BLT with a modern touch - we've added turkey, avocado and garlic mayo. Served on a ciabatta roll." It was a newer item and I thought the size of the sandwich was good for lunch. The salads are always huge portions so be prepared to take home about half of them. For dessert the make your own sundae has always been a hit with our kids. Went for lunch with a coworker. The restaurant was practically empty, so the service was fast. My coworker ordered a deep dish pepperoni pizza. I ordered the chicken parm with mash instead of pasta. Slightly fresher-than-average ingredients. The pizza is not as tasty as it used to be. The sandwiches are okay including the burgers that seem to use fresh (never frozen) beef, a definite plus. Service is very slow but polite. Prices are high unless you have a coupon. Food preparation occurs behind closed doors so there is no way to monitor it for contamination whether deliberate or not. I frequently go to this Uno because I enjoy the food and never have an issue, until yesterday. I ordered the 10 OZ top sirloin steak medium rare. Not sure what they brought me, but it was not a sirloin and it was well done. I tried to eat it but it was not edible. It did not taste right. There was no marble to it and it looked like it was microwaved. I told the waiter and he took it off our bill. In addition, that meal, along with my daughter's crispy chicken salad were to come with a bread stick. Neither meal came with a bread stick. We had to ask for it. No manager came over to speak with me about my steak, which is unusual because a manager usually pops their head over to at the very least, apologize and see if it can be replaced. Came here for my birthday dinner with my family. The staff are very friendly and greet you at the door. Our waitress was really good and got us what we needed. I got the bruschetta chicken which was a new menu item, with rice pilaf, broccoli and a side salad- and it did not disappoint- it was sooo tasty, I ate the plate clean. My daughter who's 10 got the make your own kids pizza- which she really loves to do, and while we waited had a chance to play with some pizza dough- she likes to play with that to occupy herself while also playing/coloring on the kids menu that is given. Two disappointing visits in a row. Today I ordered a deep dish pepperoni and sausage pizza to go. I ended up with a deep dish cheese pizza with a slice of pepperoni or 2 on each slice all for the low price of $31, no sausage at all. If I actually ordered a cheese pizza I'd give it 3 or 4 stars because it was decent but it was not at all what I ordered. The previous time I ate in and got a Chicago Meat Market deep dish pizza (their version of the meat lovers pizza). Very good service, no issue there. But the pizza was essentially a meatball filler pizza (there was no actual meat in the meatballs, just the filler stuff you add to ground beef to make meatballs, and a ton of it) an odd slice of pepperoni mixed in, no sausage. I am starting to wonder if this store actually stocks sausage as a topping because they don't seem to have it. It's been a long time since I last visited this restaurant, and the last time I will. We went on a Saturday night about 8:00 pm. It was not busy and we were seated immediately. The server came quickly and was very nice. We ordered the Chicken Parm over rigatoni and the Chicken Mediterranean, with mashed potatoes and roasted vegetables. The meals came out, both with dry over done chicken. It was hard to even cut. They served the chicken Mediterranean with mashed potatoes and rice. When my friend asked for her vegetables they took the platter back to the kitchen and returned with it, still with the rice on it. About 10 minutes later, when she was done eating the waitress brought out the vegetables with an apology. She explained that it took so long because they were in the oven. They were still pretty raw. For being a chain pizza place, I didn't have a bad time yesterday. I hadn't eaten here in over 10 years but the food and service really surprised me. Uno offers a lot more than just pizza (including healthy options) and I was happy to see how extensive their menu was. There didn't appear to be much seating available when we walked in but we got seated immediately. Our waitress came over and took our drink orders and was fast and friendly. My dad and I shared a 16 inch Chicago thin crust spinach, goat cheese and caramelized onion pizza. Wow. They made this pizza with the LOVE. The only thing I didn't fancy too much was that it was cut into squares. It was annoying to eat because the toppings slid off if you didn't eat it fast enough. Also, I like my pizza to have a crunch and the crust wasn't crispy at all. Still an excellent pie. It was honestly too big for 2 people to share. My boyfriend ordered the buffalo chicken quesadilla. It looks like they use pizza dough instead of tortilla for the quesadilla. He said it wasn't too spicy and there was a good amount of chicken inside. Came with sour cream and salsa on the side. You know the feeling.. you're driving when suddenly a place emerges from the retail sprawl that you kinda know is disappointing but you go in anyway in complete subservience to your baser instincts of hunger and thirst - you go because it's there. Uno has been my chain of last resort as previous visits to this third-tier eatery have always left me apologizing to generations of my Italian forebearers for my callous indifference to our traditions and standards. While I'm not going to tell you that the menu at their Bensalem location doesn't deserve an exorcism, I will tell you that it wasn't wretched and that this particular location is exceptionally clean and well-run, sporting service that puts many linen tablecloth eateries that we've visited to shame. Maybe we caught them on a good night but hell, many brands in the franchise afterlife never have a good night. Five stars for giving a s__t and especially for proving me wrong. read more

After getting some salads, Italian for Kathey and the strawberry goat cheese salad for me, we ordered our entrees. The bride chose the shrimp scampi while my pick was the Mediterranean chicken with mashed red skin potatoes and broccoli. The food was delicious, even with the broccoli being slightly overcooked. Sure brought back some memories of our visits there before we married. The service was a bit slow. It took a little over half an hour from being seated to the entrees being delivered to the table. Not sure why but our server kept informing us of the status of our meals the whole time. this spot is now open for indoor and outdoor service. We went with the outdoor service. I think their setup is the best I've seen anywhere. It's a huge tent/awning that is probably 30 feet tall at its peak. It started raining while we were there and it was fine. The food is always well prepared and presented. We shared the extra large deep dish pizza and it was plenty for two of us. The quality of the pie was excellent, as good as any of the many deep dish pies I've had in Chicago. They also have a great selection of craft beers. Lastly, all the servers wear masks and gloves. We felt safe there. read more

I really like this Uno's more than others that I have visited. The atmosphere is really nice, family friendly but cozy. They also offer good happy hour specials (half priced apps and drink specials). My all time favorite appetizer is the potato skins pizza, I'm sure it's like 10,000 calories, but totally worth it! Having been to chicago and having had deep dish here too, it obviously is not the same...but it is a close delicious attempt. They have various options on how to get your pizza on, and at very reasonable prices. Their latest deal is this 2 for $12 deal, which includes a few entrees, salads and pizzas, it is an AMAZING deal! I really don't know why they don't advertise it more, but two people could easily eat for $12! My husband and I are fat butts, so we each get our own individual deal, but that's another story.... The only star I'm taking off for is cocktails. I have ordered pitchers of sangria here and other mixed drinks and just have not been impressed. Much like other chain restaurants, they measure everything, water everything down and well overprice it. First let me say the food was perfect. I ordered cheeseburger deep dish /w vegan meat everything else non vegan. I ordered a kids puzza and fries. The server was great. My bill comes and I was charged 25 for the 16 dollar pizza along w/ being charged for my child who eats free on Tuesday. The server gets the manager. The manager approached and I explain I never ordered a 10 inch pizza infact I never saw a different size because I zeroed in on the price first. The manager spoke to me like he was a negotiator asking me what do I want him to do... he gave me food and he thought my order was good. So many things wrong with that statement, however I moved on. I asked to be charged the price I expected since his server neglected to confirm what size I was ordering...I mean McDonald's asks for Pete's sake!! As a disabled citizen in pain, I have no time for shenanigans!. He HAGGLED ME like this was the market in Bagdad! He kept being ambiguous about the discount, saying he was going to give me LIKE 6 DOLLARS OFF! Excuse me? He didn't take the KIDS FRIES OFF only the pizza. He didn't adjust the price of the pizza to 16.39 or whatever the price is listed. 25 -6 is NOT 16. He was unprofessional and behaved as if he was doing ME the favor. Uno's is my favorite restaurant - Yes, I know it's a chain. Do I care ? No. I've been coming here for nearly 20 years if not longer... great food everytime. Great specials too. 1/2 price apps during games ... can't beat that. Today's visit however was enough to make me 2nd guess my 5 star opinion. The "bacon me happy burger" was loaded with raw bacon ... I mean piled up high in fatty uncooked bacon. Wtf. I took the bacon off and ate just the burger (*I shouldn't have*) The burger tasted like charcoal and liquid smoke ... Terrible. My son loved his pizza and breadsticks ... I stole some of his since he didn't seem to mind sharing. the waitress was great (kerri) great service and ultra cool with my son. There was a nice cozy fire going in the fireplace. I thought this was like a Pizza Hut (nothing wrong with there either), But this is nicer. After my experience a couple of months ago sampling the small deep dish farmers market pizza at the Hamilton Uno, John and I watched a show about Chicago pizza on cable television. The pizzas on the show looked like an italian casserole in a crust. We were longing to search one out. We headed over to the Uno at the Neshaminy Mall (for our first visit), and so, gave one a whirl. It was loaded with plenty of crumbled sausage, mozzarella cheese, and topped with chunky tomato sauce. Was it an authentic Chicago experience? I don't know! It's probably as close as we will get to Chicago in Southeast Pennsylvania. But we sure enjoyed it. It was hearty. We were each good for two slices - and had two to bring home for leftovers. UPDATE: We repeated our dining experience with another Uno Classic yesterday (8/17/2017). I think I'm addicted to the Uno Classic Chicago style pizza.
