Union square destination bakery is always delivering creative baked goods, breakfast items, and drinks The owners and staff are always on point in this busy bakery with limited seating a few minutes from Union Square. When you first arrive you must take a look at the current offerings because they have special and seasonal features that should not be missed. For breakfast, they have great everything croissant that you can add salmon, bacon or other toppings to be a hearty tasty breakfast treat. Don't forget that they make great croissants but the donuts and other items are a must as well. I have tried a variety of offerings but keep and eye because they have limited quantities on each item. We tried a few different drinks. They had a pumpkin spice latte with three mini croissants which is so fun and tasty. The atmosphere and environment is always warm and welcoming. There is a restroom in the back but you need to go back past the black curtain. Keep the seasonal specials coming and kudos to the owners.

Unique chocolate croissant. The shape allows the chocolate to spread out nicely which was good. However I think the normal croissant shape allows for a flakier pastry. They also had a ton of vegan pastries which was cool.

I stopped by Unregular Bakery over the weekend and can not stop thinking about 2 the things I tried. The first was the Dubai chocolate donut , I've said it over and over! Gimme all of the pistachio and all of the kataifi! I loved it. The other item I drank so fast I immediately wanted another was the green matcha lattini. It's got green matcha of course, cold foam, matcha chocolate and 3 mini croissants on top! This is a breakfast combo on its on. The bakery space is huge, there's seating in the front near the entrance and more seats in the back. The servers were so kind with helping us pair our drinks and desserts. Definitely worth checking out if you are meeting up with friends/family.

Don't sleep on the savory options here! The Mortadella Bomboloni is a 10/10 breakfast sandwich. The plain bomboloni doughnut used as bread is fluffy and light, and the pistachio pesto is pretty phenomenal. I'd even hesitate a bit to call it a doughnut sandwich since it really doesn't have that sort of sugary sweetness you might expect. The Everything Bagel croissant is also solid. The paprika cream cheese adds a unique flavor, though it can get a bit messy. I haven't tried the drinks or many of the sweeter pastries yet, but definitely want to. They've got a good variety and some interesting seasonal options (especially around Halloween). Staff are friendly and quick to heat and serve your order. The space is small with just a few tables, but it's been pretty quiet and easy to grab a seat during my visits.

Solid spot for delicious pastries! Very easy and fast turnaround, was able to order our sandwich and Everything Croissant easily. The folks over the counter offered to heat up the croissant, which was a nice touch. Both pastries were delicious. Notably, loved the cheese sandwiched inside the Everything Croissant, really really delicious. Every bite of the sandwich was umami and delicious also. Some seating inside, but it's a small store so be mindful of that. We had no issues finding seating on a slower Saturday morning. Have to come back for their famous spritz donut!

I had their lattini, which a caffeine drink with a mini croissant. The drink I got was blue matcha and I chose their strawberry croissant. I'm not sure if I was supposed to dip the croissant in the matcha, but even separated, I loved both!

A cute little bakery with a wide variety of baked goods and coffee options. I tried the strawberry cheesecake bombolone, burracroissant, and the cold brew with tiramisu cold foam. The bombolone didn't have much filling, so it felt a bit dry, but the burracroissant was amazing -- perfectly flaky with a delicious burrata filling. The cold brew was a standout, topped with a mini chocolate croissant, and the tiramisu cold foam was just perfect! Seating is limited, so it's best for a quick visit or takeaway.

True to its name, Unregular Bakery does offer unregular pastries in a funky and vibrant setting. Such offerings such as a caprese bombalone or a lattini (a latte with a mini croissant topping) await you! I ended up ordering a croissant pudding with a hot cold brew (no, that's not a typo) and my friend ordered the scrappamon. The croissant bread pudding was dense and buttery. The cream cheese topping on top gave it that tangy edge that cut through the richness. I wasn't completely wowed by it overall. I kind of feel like if you lucked out and got it warm, it would've been phenomenal. The hot cold brew, tastes exactly like your expectation: not as bitter as drip but has that subtle sourness cold brew is known for. My friend claimed the scrappamon was dry and I'll have to believe her because I never got to taste ;_; Overall, service is sweeter than the pastries we chose. Maybe heed my advice and choose something more viral because my friend and I ultimately left a bit disappointed.

This bakery has some nice options, with a display case full of pastries and a nice selection of coffee. I ordered the Nutella banana bread sliced which was delicious. We also tried the almond croissant which had lots of nice flaky layers. I unexpectedly really enjoyed my cortado, it was very smooth! The ambience was not amazing. They were doing some maintenance in the front. The tables in the back were dark and not the most inviting. I would recommend stopping in if you're in the area, maybe grab something and go. The service is quick.

Cute bakery with lots of delicious-looking, Instagrammable pastries to choose from. They have a lot of vegan options! We were there around 11 on a Sunday and had about a 5-7 minute wait. I really enjoyed the blueberry rosemary bombolone. The filling tasted super fresh and reminded me of a blueberry pie. The blueberry icing covered the whole exterior of the doughnut (a bit messy!) and added sweetness and acidity. I do wish I tasted the rosemary a bit more, but I would recommend this and would get it again. I also ordered the prosciutto and cheese croissant as I wanted something more savory as a breakfast item. It was good: quality prosciutto and a flaky croissant, but overall I thought it was a tad too salty and a few bites on the one side tasted a little stale/dry. I was tempted by the lattinis but went with a classic flat white. Quality coffee, but a tiny portion.

While exploring the city, we stopped into unregular bakery for an afternoon treat! They had a fun variety of bombolone and croissants that we don't see often back home in CT. The Bombaspritz, k bueno croissant, and Dubai chocolate bombolone were all delicious, and the lattini is such a cute idea! The staff prepared everything quickly, and it was decorated nicely here. It was a nice spot to kick back for a while, and I'd definitely come back again the next time I'm in the area!

all the pastries looked amazing but my favorite was actually their lunch sandwiches! they do savory sandwiches with these croissant buns. i would recommend the murtadel sandwich - the pistachio pesto and burrata melt into the croissant and it's delicious. also for their lunch deal, you can get a pastry + drink for the price of a sandwich! we tried the orange bomboloni and espresso croissant. i liked the bomboloni better, it feels like a cream filled donut but less flakey dough than normal donuts. espresso croissant was good too (has espresso filling) but a little more common. this place also has decent seating, wifi, and wasn't crowded when i went so i'll definitely be coming back again! read more

This is a really nice new bakery from Unregular Pizza. I sampled (fine, ate entirely) the Spritz Bomboloni and actually sampled the Espresso croissant. The Spritz Bomboloni has Aperol pearls and an orange pastry cream. It was great! I also really liked how when I tried to pull off the candied orange with Aperol pearls on the top, it remained stuck to the bomboloni. As I ate my way to the orange, the candied orange came together with the bomboloni and Aperol pearls so it was giving Aperol spritz. Very nice. The Espresso croissant was the sleeper hit though. It is filled with a chocolate espresso filling that is not too sweet and very, very good. I'm not sure if all the croissants are made like the bufala croissant but this felt like it captured an Italian flavor like no Italian pastry that I've tried in NYC. The croissants and bomboloni here are great! It felt like they stayed very true to pure Italian flavors and the quality of the baked goods was excellent. This is a fun New York mashup that wouldn't disappoint if you brought friends from out of town looking for a cool concept. read more

After the pandemic-born Unregular Pizza, the owner expands his oven horizon with a bakery, but most items created with a twist, just like his pizza. Bomboloni are filled with eclectic fillings like cheese and tomato paste and the bufala croissant because why not, everything is good with cheese. There are some copycat products a la Lafayette's wheel-shaped croissants, but just like the infamous Cronuts, imitation is a form of flattery, but the execution must be on point and here, the creativity sure can make your taste buds excited. Staff is friendly and helpful. As the previous business was a pizzeria, this is a great use of the oven. Carb is life. read more

lil sister flew in from oc on a red eye and dragged me out of bed to this bakery. Do not skip the everything salmon sandwich- the pickled onions caught us both off guard and it was such a clean, refreshing, and freaking delicious Lox sandwich. Soooooo good. We also shared the pistachio with orange blossom bombolone (not too sweet - thumbs up for Asians) and the burra croissant (felt like I was eating pizza).. all good things and will get again Will def come back for the everything salmon sandwich (chef's kiss) and try something new read more

Tasty and relatively fresh pastries. Cute restaurant with a bit of outdoor seating which was nice. Bathroom wasn't extra clean but it was nice that they had one. Staff were nice and helpful. The pistachio donut was good air fried later in the day and the cinnamon croissant thing was yummy when I ate it there. My wife and I stopped in here on a late Friday morning after noticing the sign for a free cup of coffee with any pastry/sandwich purchase and I'm glad we did! They have a very unique bakery selection, including a variety of vegan options. We opted for a savory (non-vegan) croissant filled with burrata cheese and herbs as well as a chocolate croissant (also non-vegan) that was anything but traditional. The chocolate croissant was tasty and the proper balance of sweet and flaky. But the savory croissant definitely stole the show as it was so unique and unlike anything we've ever had. They have a ton of options, but the staff were very friendly and did a great job of explaining everything to help you make a great choice. I would definitely recommend stopping by here if you're nearby - and oh, the coffee was great, too! read more

Was incredibly excited to try this place for the first time because of their variety of vegan options and incredible interior design. Certainly did not disappoint. Herwin was an absolute pleasure (so accommodating and friendly) and made the ultimate recommendation to try the latte with mini vegan croissants. This is a cool little hole in the wall bakery and coffee shop that is round the corner from The Strand bookstore, which is why I went there. I got a dirty chai and a croissant, spoiled for choice as there were all kinds of inviting pastries- including some vegan ones. The croissant was fine, not memorable. And unfortunately the latte was cold - I think the milk was heated separately from the cold chai mix and so that was not great. A bakery combining traditional recipes with a new, groovy, "unregular" approach. The pastries are beautifully-looking, and the savory "bomboloni" are huge and satisfying. I tried this place today and it was so worth it. Obviously discovered from tik tok but everything was pretty good. The K Bueno is a MUST! I could eat it every day it's so good. I got the strawberry cheesecake bomboloni soooooo tasty. I also got a sandwich which was also so delish. You won't regret it def visit. We found out about this gem of union square area from instagram. The namesake of the bakery may make you think twice about trying it, but I guarantee you the flavor combinations of their baked products did not disappoint. I like this place, especially their dessert options, makes me want to come back every time. Today I chose to stay at the store for the long break but it was a huge line with only one Barista working solo and handling everything, it just made the whole process even longer, I eventually got served and had my order after about 15 mins wait, I was the end of the long line but ended up being the head of another long line. Great job for the barista still holding it well and you guys might need one more helper especially during weekends. read more

I'm not convinced that they will dispose of them. Even if they do, it means they didn't do a good job in forecasting demand especially after being in business for multiple years. I ordered mango and yuzu. Both were too sweet and had one dimensional flavor and textures, not refreshing per their stated flavors. Even if their appearances take effort, they don't look pretty enough for me to forgive what goes in my mouth. I'm used to having patisseries with many layers and elements. Mango's sponge probably only took up 20% of the bottom, because I barely had bites of it. Most of my bites didn't have any. I didn't like how liquid the filling was. It didn't exactly ooze out but just melted into a puddle in my mouth. Yuzu looks pretty with the pink and yellow glaze, but it didn't go with the realistic fruit theme. I chose it for the flavor combination which is strawberry, yuzu, and guava. This was slightly better in terms of flavor variety in the mouth. The flower on top had a weird off putting flavor. The bottom crispy rice apparently is supposed to be chocolate but it came out plain. It was tasteless anyway, so not effective in terms of flavor or texture.
