UOVO in Pasadena served excellent fresh-made pasta, and overall pretty delicious food. We ordered the clam pasta (vongole) and loved it. For appetizer we got the yellowtail crudo, and that was beautifully presented, and delicious as well. Service was severely lacking. We were not given spoons and I had also asked for red peppers and they didn't arrive until I asked for them again. No one checked up on us until almost at the end of the meal and that's when I asked again for the red pepper flakes. For dessert, we got the tiramisu and it was just ok. They also don't serve coffee or tea. To top it off, when we got our receipts, we noticed we were automatically charged 20% gratuity for the lack of service which I found to be very unprofessional. Good pasta, poor service. The ambiance was nice.
My sister and I decided to try UOVO, and will definitely be back. This place easily has one of the best pasta dishes ever!!! We ordered the Truffle & Cheese set tasting meal. This included the Crudo, truffle pasta, pomodoro, Cacio e Pepe, & Tiramisu. We also added on the arugula salad and Ragu! Every dish was fresh and flavorful. The manager, and server were all extremely attentive. I love the vibe of the interior, you are able to see them cooking in front of you, and if you are at the bar they will serve it right in front of you! We will definitely be back!
Was expecting a good dining experience from all the reviews I've heard but left disappointed. Overall the food was too salty, every single dish we got was way too salty. Food: cheese and truffle tasting menu: - yellowtail crudo: fish texture was a bit off, it was drenched in olive oil and that's all we tasted. Not enough microgreens and toppings to accompany the dish. Portion size was good. - tagliatelle in truffle sauce: noodles were perfect al dente, but was way too salty, could've used more truffle as well as a topping. Was feeling a little plain and bland. Portion size was good. - pomodoro: meat sauce was good and pasta was al dente, but once again super salty, portion size was good. - cacio e Pepe: at this point the noodles are all the same, wished a different type of pasta was used instead of the same one. Also really salty and tasted similar to the tagliatelle, there was nothing differentiating it. Could've used a topping to help with that. - tiramisu: was the best thing I ate that night. We also had the vongole which by no surprise was also really salty, tasted like they took the brine of the clams (which were super super small) and used it for the sauce. Unoriginal and bland but salty at the same time. The pasta was also the same type as the previous ones. Got tired of the pasta real quick. Service: was excellent, they were attentive and a changed our utensils and refilled our water without asking. Atmosphere: excellent! We were seated outside which at night time was really pretty. We didn't have to wait too long and there was seats outside of the restaurant to wait. Parking was found on the street which was also not too bad. Overall, if the food had just been better this would have been a great experience, but unfortunately it was all salty.
I've seen this place pop up frequently on Yelp, and always hear such good things about it. Decided to stop by for a birthday dinner - and realized it's owned by the same owners as Kazunori. No wonder the interior is so similar! Open kitchen, watch them make your pasta and plate it before serving it to you. We ordered two pastas - crema di parmigiano mainly because it says it contains meat. Looked like little treasure pockets swimming in a cream sauce. Was perfectly al dente but after awhile, the flavors became very heavy and not as enjoyable. Pomodorini e basílico - very simple pasta with yellow tomatoes, basil, sea salt and some oil. Yea this pasta was pretty flavorless and seemed like I was eating bland pasta. Broccolini was probably the best of the night. Pasta is made in Italy and shipped overnight. I don't know but I was really overwhelmed and still hungry after eating. Glad I got to try it but I would not come back.
Atmosphere & Seating The ambiance is intimate and special, featuring abundant plants and fairy lights. Seating is tight, so I highly recommend this spot for smaller groups. We sat at the bar, which provided a fantastic view of the chefs crafting fresh pasta right from the pan--it's a tight, efficient operation that I'd recommend for anyone looking to watch the craft. Note: The wait on a Thursday at 7 PM was only 5-10 minutes (we pivoted here after seeing an hour-long wait at Sugarfish next door). Food & Service The service is minimal but efficient. A service charge is automatically included, and they are transparent about it upfront. * Truffle Tagliata: Absolutely delicious. I've never been a huge fan of al dente pasta, but this dish finally made me a convert--the texture was perfection. The sauce leaned a bit salty, but it remained enjoyable. * Tiramisu: A fantastic finish to the meal. Value The tasting menu was approximately $105 after tax and fees. I felt the price was fair and the quality justified the cost. Verdict An excellent experience if you appreciate watching the kitchen in action. I'd recommend booking ahead if you have a larger group, but for a party of two, it's great!
I've had Uovo on my foodie bucket list for a while and was finally able to check it off. My friends and I ordered the truffle cheese pasta, tomato based sauce, and a rly light lemon flavor one (sorry I don't remember the names of any LOL). I liked how the dishes weren't too heavy / overpowering but just the right amount of food and flavors. However, I do wish that there was something more to it- more ingredients, protein, etc. to make it special. The pasta noodles themselves were good, but nothing really stood out to me. For the sides, the broccolini was a great choice! I went on a weekday around 4pm and it was pretty empty. Service was fast and friendly. The ambiance is beautiful, and I loved the interior design. Super intimate yet upscale. Overall it wasn't bad but not mind blowing either. I'm not sure if I would come back but worth a try!
We were looking for a fancy lunch spot that wouldn't break the bank, so we decided to give UOVO a try. We ordered the Battuta di Carne ($15), Crema di Parmigiano ($19), and Lasagna ($18). A 16% gratuity was automatically included in our bill, bringing the total to about $70 after tax. The beef tartare (Battuta di Carne) came out quickly. The meat was fresh, tender, and generously seasoned with olive oil, cracked black pepper, lemon, and Parmigiano Reggiano. It was a simple dish that really allowed the quality of the beef to shine. That said, I would have appreciated some sort of accompaniment, such as toasted bread, to add texture and help balance the richness and raw flavor of the meat. The pasta dishes (Crema di Parmigiano and Lasagna) took a bit longer to arrive, but they were well worth the wait. The Crema di Parmigiano consisted of small pork-filled tortellini in a rich, tangy cheese sauce. The first few bites were spectacular. The pasta was perfectly al dente and generously coated in sauce. The sauce itself was velvety, creamy, and well-seasoned. However, I found it difficult to fully appreciate the tortellini filling because the sauce occasionally overpowered it. By the end of the dish, the richness became a bit overwhelming, especially since the plate was very minimalist--just pasta and cheese sauce. Some fresh herbs would have provided a welcome contrast and helped cut through the richness and tang of the cheese. The lasagna was hearty and delicious. At first glance, the portion appeared small, but the many layers of pasta and filling made it surprisingly satisfying. The pasta was once again perfectly al dente, creating an indulgent bite when paired with the creamy, meat-filled sauce. The service and ambiance made for an enjoyable dining experience. The restaurant has a modern Italian bistro feel, and the clear panels overlooking the kitchen added to the atmosphere by showcasing the preparation process and the freshness of the ingredients. The servers were friendly, attentive, and accommodating throughout our meal. If I had one criticism, it would be that the dishes felt somewhat one-dimensional. While I appreciate UOVO's effort to highlight the quality and freshness of its ingredients, I found myself experiencing flavor fatigue after a few bites of each dish. I would recommend dining with a larger group and sharing multiple dishes to enjoy a wider variety of flavors. Ordered to go for a dinner night in. We ordered Pomodoro, Amatriciana and Cavolfiori. Great pasta, def. tastes fresh but I would not say it is anything out of the ordinary. Dishes were not too heavy which was good. Noodles cooked great. Not bad overall, but I dont know if I would come back. Worth a try!
Went here on a Tuesday for lunch. Service was mediocre. Food was decent. I love the appetizers. My favorites were the beef tar tar and the yellowtail carpaccio. Had the Tagliatelle pasta in truffle sauce. Looks basic was honestly sooo delicious! Probably my favorite entree. I didn't care for the pomodoro pastas I had. There were some hit and miss, but it wasn't too bad. We sat outside and staff weren't as attentive as I would like but I digress. I highly recommend Maccheroni Republic. Their food is just perfect with every plate and every entree. *chef's kiss*
I'm obsessed. Last time I was in LA, I met up with a friend here for dinner. We ordered off the tasting menu and selected "The Regional" which includes Battuta de carne, ragú, tortellini, amatriciana, and pan a cotta con saba. for $35 per person, it was a good amount of food! Not to mention it was fresh, aromatic and delicious. I've been to Italy and this place is the closest I've come to anything I had out there. Also, not to mention, the pasta is handmade in Bologna, Italy and shipped overnight in a temperature controlled cabin. They do this because Italian eggs are key to their pasta!! We were seated outside, I didn't mind as the weather was perfect for al fresco dining and the service was great, highly recommend getting there as early as they open as they do not take reservations and operate strictly on a first come first serve basis. I always park in the parking structure because I never have a problem finding parking in there.
I finally made it to the Pasadena location for a late birthday dinner with my boyfriend on a Monday night, and it was such a surprisingly great experience! We actually tried to come here a long time ago, but the wait was so bad that we just gave up. My boyfriend has been to the Marina Del Rey location multiple times, so I didn't really have any expectations after our first attempt to come here. But There was no wait at all, and we got to sit right at the counter. I think it was the best seat in the house because we were right in front of the cheese wheel and got to watch the chefs cook everything fresh. The vibes inside the restaurant were great and the service was great too. As for the food, the yellowtail we ordered was alright. it tasted great but wasn't exactly mind-blowing. The pasta was the real highlight, specifically the carbonara, which was fantastic! I also tried the Amatriciana, but it was a little too salty for me, so I probably wouldn't order that one again. But my bf loved it!!! guanciale pieces were really tasty!! The parmigiano they use is incredible, though, and I'm already thinking of coming back just for their cheesy pasta. I'll definitely be sticking to any pasta that features their parmigiano next time. Overall, the ambiance was perfect and it was such a win for a Monday night dinner!
Wow, so good! We did one of the tasting menus, and not only was everything delicious and well plated, the portions were reasonable. I left satisfied but not overly stuffed. My fave was the ragu, but all of the pastas were fresh and you could taste the quality. I also liked that they were a tipping free restaurant. Your bill is your bill, which I found to be quite reasonable for the quality of food. Would totally recommend this place and would also return!
First off, some parts of Pasadena are like DTLA so be prepared to pay for parking. There was plenty of lots and parking structures, although some were closed. There is also street meter parking. It is also quite a small restaurant, the pictures online made it look much larger. The outside area where we were sat was lovely. It had cute greenery and string lights, perfect for a first date. However, they do not have an option to make reservations, first come first serve. We had a party of 5 on a Saturday evening around 6pm and it was about an hour wait. Not too bad in my opinion. Came here to celebrate asking my sisters to be my bridesmaids. I was craving pasta as always and came across this place on Yelp. All of the pasta was a 10/10 for me. We all tried a different dish. My favorite was definitely the Tortellini and the Tagliatelle with the truffle sauce. My sister had the Ragu and wished it had more of a sauce but I thought it was really good. I definitely wished there were more appetizers on the menu and maybe a few more desert options. Other than that I have no complaints. The service was quick and friendly and we were checked in on frequently to make sure everything was to our liking. I would definitely come back again! read more
Uovo specializes in pasta dishes with the pasta flown in from Bologna. They also offer several tasting menus which is absolutely the best way to enjoy a few. We went with the Regional - Battuta, di carne, Ragú, Tortellini, Amatriciana, and Panna cotta con saba. Loved the ability to swap apps and desserts which we did - yellowtail crudo and panna cotta alle fragole for the default. The crudo was nice and light with really good EVOO. Execution of the pasta courses was excellent, with flavors and textures being superb. The tortellini was also in a broth (brood) which was nice, and the other pasta dishes showed restraint with the amount of sauce and portion. Panna cotta was the perfect ending, and UOVO has a nice selection of Italian wines by the glass. My one pet peeve though is the lack of espresso or coffee options, so that was a bummer. But overall, Uovo delivers some of the best pasta dishes around at a reasonable price. read more
Great service and nice ambiance. Really like the location - in a courtyard next to other restaurants - for all you old school Pasadena people, this is where we used to always come for the Crocodile Cafe. Anyhow, it seems like there is always a wait, esp on the weekend. We waited about 1.5 hours but that's ok. Food was good...all pastas were cooked to al dente - their prix fixe options for two were perfect for us. Plenty of food as we aren't big eaters - even enough to take home a meal for our daughter, who is a total pasta geek. I don't remember the option we chose but we want to come back and try the others. Sorry, forgot the names of the dishes but I'll add the names next time we come back. read more
Great restaurant for fancy Italian eats, convenient location and amazing ambiance. We came once a weekend for a late lunch. The restaurant was pretty empty with only one other party there. We ordered the carbonara, pomodorini e basilico, and arrabiata. All had fresh chewy pasta and great flavor. The portions looked pretty small but were actually quite filling. The carbonara was incredible, very creamy and rich. Pomodorini had a fresh and lighter sauce, oil based. Lots of yellow tomatoes and also very good. The arrabiata is a spicy red sauce which was also very good and flavorful, peppery. The store itself is beautiful on the inside and has a clean bathroom and tables. They have a bar as well and outside seating. Parking is convenient and free , I usually park in the Ross parking lot and walk over. read more

Long overdue post but my family and I were walking around Old Town Pasadena and saw this pasta place that was highly rated on Yelp. Decided to give it a try but had to wait over 90 minutes until we got seated. We were seated outdoors and even then it was super dim. Our table was also super small and was tilted, which was a problem when the food came out. The water was also very gross and extra "tap-like." We ordered a couple of their popular pastas and honestly I don't get the hype. While the pasta texture was delicious and can tell it's homemade, each of the seasonings was WAYYy too salty. I had to wolf it down with water. Additionall as mentioned earlier, the table was crooked so my dad had to hold down the bottom to balance out the table so we don't drop any of the plates. My friends who went here also shared similar sentiments. The tiramisu dessert was also a flop- it was way too sweet and it just felt like a deconstructed tiramisu stuck in a glass cup. Overall, I wouldn't recommend and wouldn't come back considering the long wait times and salty food. read more

Every bite we had here was delicious. Portions were perfect so not a morsel was left behind. Service was quick and the staff friendly and helpful when we were deciding on our order. We sat inside but they offer lovely patio seating as well. Love the simple organic vibe here. read more
Hands down the best and most freshest Italian food!!! I've been coming to Uovo for a few years now. This is always my go to place to recommend to people. I have brought all my friends here and they loved it. I recently came here for my anniversary dinner with my partner. We sat at the bar, my only complaint was that we were seated in the corner part of the bar, we felt very squished between other people and a bit uncomfortable, it was like we had no space. This was a bit unfortunate since we were celebrating and hoping to have a great night. However, we enjoyed our pasta as usual. The staff is incredible, always checking in and are so attentive and friendly. I definitely will be back but sure to note not to sit in the corner. This place is a MUST TRY!!!!! 10/10 read more
This UOVO is in a middle of the nice area of Pasadena! Parking isn't too bad, if you're willing to pay. Otherwise, with a little bit of patience, there are 1-2 hours free parking available. Uovo allows reservation in advance. We came on a Saturday morning and walk-in was granted right away. They have a rule, everyone in the party must be there to be seated... but since it's not too crazy when we arrived, they sat us down right away. Case to case basis. I'm new to Uovo, but my friend has been to a couple locations in the SFV. He pointed some differences, which serves this place 4/5 due to server not being able to take out ingredients based on allergy, while another location can. However, we enjoyed our appetizer (you can tell it was fresh). Our kale salad was refreshing to eat, and we enjoyed all of our pasta selections. read more

Uovo, meaning egg in Italian was recommended this place by a friend and it was busy! Touted for their handmade pasta and shipped fresh daily to the restaurant was something to truly try. We were greeted by the host and told it was roughly about a 45 minute wait. There was outdoor seating, limited indoor, and bar seating which overlooked the kitchen. Dim lights, cute overhanging patio bulbs and a pattern on the wall which looks like wood, but is made from brick. Entry to the restroom is a sliding door and the place is quaintly decorated as if you're dining at an small Italian villa with olive branches in huge Mediterranean pots and wooden tables and chairs. Service was quick, prompt, and friendly. Hubby and I got the Truffle and Cheese shared pre-fixe dinner. Friend got the cabornara, and my son got the cacio e pepe. Truffle and Cheese pasta was EXCELLENT! Truffle flavor comes through and the pasta was cooked to perfection! Pomodoro was flavorful, but the sauce to pasta ratio was too much sauce for hubby and I, which made it too salty. Cacio e pepe was creamy and smooth, the fresh cracked pepper corn made the dish, but it was OVERLY SALTY. Cabornara was really good, but was once again TOO salty. Yellowtail crudo was excellent, good quality EVOO was used. A bit disappointed in the size of the tiramisu for a shared meal, but it was creamy and sweet with a light coffee flavor soaked ladyfinger. It would have been 5 stars if it wasn't too salty, but everything else was excellent and I would recommend to take a date or have an fun meal with friends and/or family. read more

Tried this little quaint restaurant the other day. Food was delicious. Had a couple different dishes amongst our group that consisted of the Brado , which is small tortellini and a beef broth, the spaghetti, Pomodoro and the Vongole. We also started with two small appetizers, one being the beef tartare, and the other yellowtail Crudo. Both were delicious very flavorful Restaurants, neat, because the kitchen, which is small is behind the bar seating which you can watch them make, and prepare all of their food. Service was great, definitely made sure that drinks were cold and iced teas were full. There was one spot on the menu, which I found kind of humorous, which was don't ask to add any black or red pepper or additional cheeses to their menu items, because they are made the way they want them to be enjoyed. And they will decline, politely your request. Overall, very good restaurant food was delicious read more

I went with my family on a Saturday night. We were seated immediately. The restaurant is famous for their authentic and fresh Italian pasta. The place has both indoor and outdoor seating. It has inviting and cozy ambience. They have tasting menu. It includes, the classic, cheese & truffle, and the regional. Each one includes four courses and a dessert. My daughter and I decided to try the classic, While my husband chose Promidrini e basilico and Funghi. Our classic order had the following courses; -Yellowtail crudo 5/5 Sliced Yellowtail with red Fresno chili pepper and arugula dressed with olive oil and blood orange. This Yellowtail crudo was irresistible! Very flavorful, very tasty and delicious. We ordered one more. I just fell in love with every bite! -Pomodrini e basilico 5/5 Handmade tagliolini with yellow tomatoes, basil, organic Sicilian olive oil and light garlic taste. (As they described it in their menu) -Vongole 5/5 Handmade tonnarelli in a white wine clam sauce with delicious clam. -Pomodoro 5/5 pomodoro sauce made with imported tomatoes from Basilicata & 24-month aged Parmigiano-Reggiano (As they described it in their menu) Tiramisu al cucchiaio 5/5 I am not a big fan of Tiramisu, but I really enjoyed theirs. It was decadent, light and yummy. The price is very reasonable compared to quality and freshness of food. The service was top notch. The staff were very welcoming and genuinely warm. Many of them came to our table, either to refill water, or bring our orders, or just to check on us. We had a very relaxing and enjoyable time. I will definitely be back soon. read more
First off parking is a nightmare we ended up parking behind Ross on a Sunday and it was chaos. BUT after we ate, we found out they actually validate parking in the structure right behind the plaza, so definitely do that instead!! We came around 1 PM and surprisingly there was no wait! Me and my boyfriend got seated right away (he was parking when i got there so i did have to wait for him to be present before sitting), which never happens on a weekend. We did the tasting menu for two (about $36 each) and literally every single dish smacked. I usually always need my red pepper flakes with pasta, but this time I didn't even ask hehe the flavor was that good. Our servers were super attentive, the food came out fast, and the vibes were immaculate. We sat outside and it was the perfect warm-but-not-too-hot day. Overall such a solid experience. TL;DR: great pasta, great service, chaotic parking (but they validate!), 10/10 would come back. read more

Such a romantic quaint establishment. Highly recommend for a friend date or first date. It's like dinner and a show! Staff was incredibly friendly and explained the dishes fully with each course. This review is for the carbonara. I really enjoyed this dish! The pancetta was salty and crispy, which provided a greta contrasting texture to the pasta! The pasta was perfectly al dente- just how I like it! I had requested a seat outside since the weather was perfect and the staff was super accommodating about it, even as a solo diner. First off, this place doesn't accept reservations -- but that's okay! The wait usually varies between 15-35 minutes depending on whether you arrive during off or peak hours. Uovo is not your typical Italian restaurant. This is where the pasta magic happens -- handmade and flown overnight from Bologna, Italy. "Uovo" actually means egg, and their pasta is crafted using specialized eggs that give it that distinct texture and flavor. It's a casual spot, and if you love pasta, this is definitely your place. I highly recommend trying the Tasting Menu and sitting at the bar to experience your pasta being cooked right in front of you -- fresh off the pan! The tasting menu is perfect for sampling smaller portions of their signature dishes like The Classic, Cheese & Truffle, and The Regional -- all fantastic. The menu also includes a starter, the Yellowtail Crudo, and finishes with a delicious Tiramisu al Cucchiaio, a traditional Italian dessert served by the spoonful. The ambiance is cozy with dim lighting -- perfect for enjoying a nice glass of wine to pair with your pasta. If you are a fan of Sugarfish or Matu (which I am), you are in for a treat. It's no wonder that they are run by the same managing company. The pasta was terrific. It had the bouncy al dente texture perfectly suited to each sauce. We had the tasting menu and were perfectly full! The service was impeccable, Daiya had the soothing baritone to boot! He was attentive and made us feel really comfortable. The vibe of the place is very old school, no rush simple elegance. read more
Some of the best pasta I've ever had We came on a Saturday around 5pm and got really lucky bc some bar seats just opened up and we didn't have to wait otherwise it would've been over an hour for a table We chose the truffle and cheese tasting menu and it was 10/10. They start you off with yellowtail crudo. You can change it out if you don't eat raw fish btw. The next course was the tagliatelle with truffle sauce which was my favorite. The sauce was so flavorful and the pasta was so fresh. Pomodoro was next. I'm typically not a fan of red sauce but I enjoyed this as well. The last dish was cacio e pepe which was good as well but I was so full already to finish the entire serving. They end the meal with tiramisu. Theirs has a hazelnut flavor and it reminded me of a ferrero rocher. The servings were perfect and was priced fair. They are a no tip restaurant but they do charge a 16% service fee read more

We came here for my son's girlfriend's birthday dinner, and it was absolutely phenomenal from start to finish! The service, ambiance, and food were all exceptional. We were served by Daiya, hands down one of the best servers we've ever had. He was so welcoming, sweet, and accommodating, taking the time to explain the menu and make us feel right at home. The ambiance was beautiful we sat outside, and the weather was perfect. The atmosphere felt cozy yet elegant, perfect for a special evening. We tried the cheese and truffle tasting menu, a five-course meal, and honestly, it was the best pasta we've ever had, Everything is made with ingredients straight from Italy! To finish, we had their tiramisu, which was the perfect sweet ending. You can also even enjoy a glass of wine while waiting for your table, which adds such a nice touch. There's a waiting area right outside the restaurant! Overall, this place is a true gem in Pasadena. If you haven't been here yet, you're seriously missing out. I've been to Uovo a few times now. It is solid. The pasta is fine. But their charging policy is pretty scammy and deceptive. On the receipt, it says Uovo is a "no tipping establishment." Pretty cool, right? Wrong. Upon further inspection, they are actually charging a 16% fee, which may or may not be going to the waitstaff (spoiler alert: it's not), and then taxing on top of that. That's really terrible, guys. Super uncool. How about stop being so shady? Just a thought. If you are giving that 16% to the waitstaff, then you are NOT a "no tipping establishment." Amazing pasta! One of my favorite spots in LA! This Uovo location is such a good vibe for going out with friends. My friend and I ordered the Regional testing menu and it was delicious. I've gotten the Cheese & Truffle before, but this one is definitely meat heavier, which I liked. The pastas were very filling and tasty. The presentation of each plate was impeccable. The service was good and we didn't need to wait because we sat on the bar section. In general the pasta is too salty to me. Lots of people keep coming here. Maybe will go back again. read more

Just ate lunch here The atmosphere was good Very small restaurant Me and my father got the "Regional Tasting" where it is 35 dollars PER person and we get a tasting of an appetizer, 3 pastas, and a dessert. Well after eating and going home we realized something. We never received the tortellini. Very disappointing to pay 70 bucks to not get a dish we were supposed to receive. A friend and partner ordered the "Classic" tasting which was supposed to come with a salad. My mother ordered a la carte salad. Only one salad was brought.... When we asked for the 2nd salad we had ordered the owner made it seem we were in the wrong... Also these tastings come with separate pasta plates for the two people sharing, but then they expect you to share ONE tiny cup of dessert which doesn't make sense at all The food did taste good, but would have been better if we received the full meal we paid for read more

UOVO Pasadena is incredible! I love the location -- such a beautiful spot. I've tried so many Italian restaurants and this one is hands-down my favorite. The yellowtail is amazing and the beef tartare is unbelievable... don't be afraid to try it! The service is always great, and Hilario always gives the best explanations and recommendations. Came out for a friend's birthday dinner when she said she was craving cacio e pepe. There's free parking for an hour and a half at the lot across the street near Burlington Ave. The space is beautifully lit at night, the outside patio has heaters and greenery surrounding the space. I had the carbonara which was absolutely phenomenal. TBH best carbonara I've had in Los Angeles. read more

How is the place Saturday mornings as soon as they open when it comes to wait times?
What is the average wait time for a party of 4 on a Saturday at 7pm?
We were there about a month ago (December) and after an hour of waiting, we gave up and ate next door at the Chinese place. 30 minutes into our meal is when a table opened up for us.
What's the seating capacity at your restaurant? We'd like to show up at 6:30 for a party of four celebrating my wife 75th birthday. What are the chances of not waiting longer than 20 minutes for a table?
Its smaller so I'd see about getting a reservation. Ive only been once so not sure if they take reservations. Good luck and I hope it makes an impression. Just so happens taking our daughter there today.

I would say 45min to 1.5hours
Are the tasting menus available for solo diners?
No, the tasting menu serves two people. If a solo diner would like the tasting menu, the diner would still need to pay for two.
Where is parking?
Street parking using the passport app or multilevel 60 min validated /discounted parking (entrance on the street in back of the strip mall). Two blocks south, on the same side of the street, there's free parking in back of the stores.
Are they able to seat large parties (group of 14)?
Based on how the tables are arranged, your group would be split up into multiple tables. I do not think it is conducive to a group that size.
How do you make reservations?
They do not take reservations. It's first come first serve.
Is the portion size too small?
Its about right. Pasta is filling so not much is needed. I don't believe they are shareable sizes. If you are very hungry, pasta alone might not be enough.

Today was a holiday (Labor Day) so I'm assuming that's why they were closed cause normally they are open 7 days a week (according to Google)
Do they do Take out? The voicemail attached to this phone number says we are calling Studio city.
Unfortunately, they don't do take out at this time. I was there last week & overheard them telling another customer this.
