We stopped by Urban Egg for breakfast while we were in town. The restaurant feels new, very clean, and we were seated quickly despite it being a Sunday morning. The staff was friendly and welcoming. I ordered the Protein Bowl, which was filling but ultimately pretty average. My wife had the Greek omelet and felt it was average at best--it really needed more seasoning. Unfortunately, the salt shaker on our table had what appeared to be dried ketchup on it, so she wasn't comfortable using it. Our children ordered scrambled eggs and a yogurt parfait with orange juice, and they enjoyed their meals. My biggest issue with the restaurant was the billing. Our server never mentioned any upcharges, so I was surprised when the bill came to $85 before tip (about $100 after tip). The kids' menu clearly stated that each meal is "served with fresh fruit, juice, and a side of either bacon or sausage," yet I was charged nearly $5 extra for my daughter's orange juice. That felt misleading and left me feeling nickel-and-dimed. Overall, the restaurant was clean, the service was friendly, and the food was decent, but the unexpected charges left a sour impression. With so many great breakfast spots nearby, I'm not convinced the experience justified a $100 breakfast for two adults and two children.

We're new to the area and decided to take a break from unpacking boxes to have brunch. We selected Urban Egg based on reviews and were not disappointed. The space is casual with both indoor and outdoor seating, and I love that the kitchen is separated from the dining room by glass. The menu has something for most palates, and items can be modified to be gluten-free or vegetarian. My partner got the carnitas bowl, and I had Tatum's avocado toast with a gluten-free muffin. We both had strawberry basil lemonade. Portions are big, so you won't leave hungry. I loved my toasted GF muffin topped with avocado, an over-medium egg, and bacon. The salad came with cantaloupe, sweet drop peppers, cherry tomatoes, goat cheese, and a tasty balsamic dressing that balanced the richness of the toast. My partner enjoyed his dish as well. Service was quick, but we never felt rushed. We'll be back. I probably wouldn't get the strawberry basil drink again, but that's just personal taste.

Went to the original one in CO, so it was nice to have one closer to home. Good service but small dining area, no reservations during prime busy breakfast hours. Ordered the shrimp & grits, can't go wrong with the shareable cinnamon rolls or scone, so order that too!

10/10 Everything was delicious! Great service. We sat outside right before it got too hot! It was nice. We also got the cold brew coffees hazelnut and lavender both strong. Overall great breakfast spot!

Omg I'm so glad I finally came inside this place.. this is def my new go to brunch spot! They have the best fresh juices in the area with the coconut mango drink and melon one yumm!! They literally have the nicest staff I've ever met at a brunch spot (snooze should be worried across the street)! Oh and the scones are amazinggg it even tasted great after I took it home and microwaved it yum! I enjoyed the breakfast tacos and we loved the French toast! The portions are nice and large so they are good for sharing if you're not too hungry or great to take for leftovers. I can't wait to come back and try more entres and try their coffee. Their owner was walking around asking for feedback as well so loved that! Make sure or make reservations on the weekend because it's super packed! Can't wait to be back!

Best breakfast I've ever had! The pancakes were gigantic, fluffy, and delicious. I ordered the deluxe pancake flight and was expecting small pancakes, but they were jumbo and the presentation was phenomenal on every plate I seen. The fruit was fresh. The service was quick and welcoming and I was even offered a free mimosa. My only critique is that add ons are pretty expensive, but this is the best brunch I've had in DFW. I eventually want to try their coffee.

First things first... make a reservation if you can, otherwise get ready for the wait. At the time of this post, they've only been open about 3 weeks, but it was super packed when I came. Service was amazing. The young lady at the hostess stand was super sweet and welcoming. Katrina, my waiter, was great and they checked on me just enough. I appreciated the background on the restaurant and looking forward to the future expansion. The ambiance was relaxed and modern. I will say I wasn't a fan of sitting near the front door since it was a little cold today. I think that made my food get colder faster but note the steak was cold when it came out - see pic for the butter not melting. Now the food!! Billion $$ bourbon bacon 9/10: nice thick cut bacon with great flavor and not too fatty! I really enjoyed this. Local honey lemonade 8/10: not too sweet or tart and very refreshing. Steak and eggs 6/10: presentation was nice and my eggs were cooked how I liked them. The loaded hash browns were very tasty. Now the steak on the other hand, while tender, lacked flavor and wasn't even hot/warm. So much so that the butter didn't and couldn't even melt. Enjoyed the onions and mushrooms but maybe less onions next time. Stuffed French toast 8.5/10: more than enough on the portion side. It was a tad sweet to me and didn't need the syrup, but just my opinion. The French toast wasn't too soggy and the bread held its shape. Overall, I'd definitely return! Make sure y'all check them out!

I was seated immediately and my order was taken immediately. Not bad for a Saturday morning. The whole team was very pleasant. I ordered the billionaire bacon and the 3 egg breakfast along with a glass of orange juice. The bacon would have been perfect had it not been salty. I do realize it's a hit or miss in that regard. The rest, well it was breakfast. You do have the option to add two items to your eggs. I went with cheese and tomatoes. My protein was sausage which was a bit bland. Warning, the hash brown has quite a bit of pepper. See photo. I would go again if invited, other than that, meh. Do give it a try.

    Tuscan Benedict

We wanted to try this place out, and I'm glad we did! There was a bit of a wait (a Saturday so understandable), but we sat at the bar instead and the people at the bar were so nice! The service was awesome! It was busy, but it wasn't so loud that we couldn't talk to each other! I think it was a great spot as far as noise level. Overall, the food was ok. We also got lattes and they were great. The guy behind the counter knew what he was doing on top of great service. For food my friend and I split the Tuscan Benedict and Tamale Benedict. The biscuits were very thin, the eggs were slightly undercooked, the tamale Benedict was drowning in sauce and not a much a Benedict but overall the flavor was decent. We got hashbrowns and a salad as the sides. The hashbrowns were cooked well but the salad could have used more dressing. We also ordered a side of toast that it came with "seasonal jam" which was delicious and the toast was buttery. The pineapple martini though, was not good. It was bland and tasted like old flavored water. That infusion definitely needs to be reworked to infuse something else like cinnamon or vanilla in there. Overall, the only reason it was 4 stars was some food mishaps and the infusion drink but we will be back (and trying different drinks) again!

Brunch was a whole vibe from start to finish. The Southwest omelette was absolutely on point -- warm, perfectly and packed with flavor. It was loaded with fluffy scrambled eggs, seasoned potatoes, melted cheese, and savory sausage, all wrapped in a egg with just the right crisp on the outside. Every bite was hearty and satisfying, and the salsa on the side gave it that extra kick. My husband ordered the shrimp in grits and a side of French toast. Are server kartina gave us the special when you got there told us what was good and was very helpful. Had our food come out. Nice and hot. It was my first time at that restaurant. I cannot wait to come back.

    Protein bowl
    Dia N.

We tried Urban Egg recently and we were impressed with the food and service. The ambiance was cute too. I had the protein bowl and it was enough for 2 or 3 meals for me. My husband had biscuits and gravy and a side of corned beef hash. He prefers his hash finely minced and this was shredded. That said, he said it was flavorful and well made, it just was not his preference. He did enjoy the biscuits and gravy. The service was fantastic and they even offered me a blanket dice it was cold outside and we were near the door. We will absolutely be back.

We ordered corned beef hash skillet with pancakes, south border skillet, biscuits gravy with eggs and pancakes. The corned beef hash skillet gets a high mark. The south border skillet was average. The biscuits gravy with eggs and pancakes were cold and it gets a low mark. If we decide to eat at Honey Berry in the future, it will be the Frankford Rd location.

It was pretty light but fun to try. We then saw our friends sharing a frozen margarita that looked too good to pass up so we ordered one too. I cannot believe they are only $10 because they are huge and definitely meant for sharing. They have a few flavors to choose from and I do not remember which one we got but it was good and strong in the best way. It sneaks up on you.
