Mailing a postcard on a Sunday... Knowing that post offices are closed on Sundays, we went to this Azusa, California location because it's close to the Costco Gasoline station. The doors were locked, so we don't know how customers can get to their post office boxes... and we don't know if there's a self-service kiosk where people can mail boxes, large envelopes, and get postage stamps. Hmmm... Well, we just needed to drop off a postcard to our Yelp friend in Germany... Mission accomplished! We'll be back with our stamped mail again! I go here a lot, and many of the workers are stellar. Today, there was a large employee with the bun on his head. There was a really snotty couple taping probably about 20 boxes while the line grew and grew. Dude, possibly they could step aside, tape to their hearts content. Anytime I had ever had a problem with my packages missing, the operators have always gone above and beyond to help locate my package. I spoke to I believe Gabby and another gentlemen (Marcos?) and they made sure to go out and track my package down. I just received my kids birthday items. Thank you guys so much! Always missing mail and the young mail carrier who lives on Azusa always making pit stops at his home off of Azusa ave near 11th/12th street , which speak a lot about how this place in being ran .. Who ever is in charge of running this location needs to resign and your employees need better training. Especially older Asian lady named Lyn. Horrible customer service and made zero sense when I went in to speak to her about a complain I had. Requested to speak to a supervisor and what a coincidence, supervisor is always busy and in or meetings. This place needs new leadership asap! Many moons ago this was never happening, as of a few years ago things have gone down the drain at this location. Terrible service. If I could give this office negative stars I would. We called to make an appointment for passport applications at 9am. We spoke to Candy. We arrived before 9am, waited until 9:30am and then were told we were not on the appointment list. We were then told we had to wait until all the appointments on the list were served. 4 months dealing with management to resolve my missing and lost important Christmas gift to my sister. I have been patient, understanding, and diligent in helping to do all I could to make the USPS staff's job in finding my lost package I sent priority mail, possible. I have filed a missing mail claim, called other locations, repeatedly tried to contact Jody, the supervisor, for assistance. and spending hours of my time in hopes of getting my sisters gift to her. All for nothing, and all because no one would stop and take a few minutes out of their busy days to actually help me and go above the normal standard of their jobs. It literally took almost 2 months later and me being more upset before the USPS management would begin to try or even care to help me. Another pointless dead end, and having given them the benefit of the doubt. (Jody) the supervisor guy that I unfortunately do not have the last name for, proved without a doubt over the last 4 months his lack of professionalism, follow through, communication, and final outcome are all normal and as to be expected. (Check other reviewers comments) it's easy to see but this was all at my loss, and expense. Give us back our package you lost! Or at least the owed insurance that was paid for! This meant a lot to us. Such a waste of my time but at least I can now confirm (many-most) of the other complaints you can see here are true. I also experienced many of the same issues, and they are not random mistakes. It's the lack of decent management and leadership at the Azusa USPS. You will get excuses and blown off when you need them the most. Jody (The supervisor couldn't even keep his story straight each time we spoke). It's not hard to see when someone shines you on just to get rid of you, or proves that they could care less about your unfortunate situation. BUT WHEN ITS YOUR JOB TO CARE AND ASSIST THE PUBLIC, then it's only a matter of time before the truth comes out. This complaint is for the USPS office located in Azusa, CA 91702 due to a lost priority package with a required signature that somehow has been lost and still cannot be located or found. With that said, i believe that if there was a Competent manager or Capable leader ship, my package would have been found and delivered by now.) I was told by the supervisor more than once, he would be calling and doing all he could to help and locate my package. Upon following up with him and attempting to verify his story, it was nothing like Jody had told me. For example I waited to speak with the mail couriers and they told me, "No" they do not remember the package in question, nor were they ever approached by management about this package. According to the Supervisor Jody, the USPS has a broken system that sometimes works and sometimes does not. This was Literally, his final answer and his exact words! He later added his story about him getting a package almost 30years after he should really summed up my new expectation for the USPS. * Before giving this review I worked with the USPS staff and Jody for 4 months and gave multiple chances for them to just finish their job correctly. Simply 'try' and do something productive is not too much to ask. * This review was wrote in hopes to raise the standard at the Azuza USPS here in California to at least a bare minimum of actually delivering the public's mail and completing their daily functions with positive results. Because after checking many other reviews and experiencing firsthand the level of negligence at this United States post office, I would say it's about time someone wakes up and makes some extremely necessary changes. Thank you, Azusa Post Office mail carrier!! One week we had a medical delivery and our mailman brought it into the porch and knocked. So, I took the package in. Not five minutes after, I saw a car drive by and stopped, reversed and opened my mailbox, all caught on camera. The next day, I went to get my regular mail and found a card for gardening service which is not US mail - that is not legal. Talking with my neighbors, they believe it may be a ploy to appear innocent when checking my mailbox. So I let the mail carrier know, and now every time there's medicine, he will bring it up to the door. So, thank you very much. Such wonderful feeling that he cares. Thank you!!! read more

This review is a long time coming, but thanks to Jose, he motivated me to put it into writing. When it comes to stereotypes, US Postal and DMV employees are in a category in-and-of themselves and there is a reason why! What words come to mind when you think of workers that get paid if they help you and get paid if they don't? Lazy, incompetent, useless? There are a number of equally-descriptive adjectives; take your pick. My postal carrier was so lazy she didn't get out of her vehicle to deliver my monthly Watch Gang package nor did she fill out any paperwork to let me know (thankfully I was tracking the package and saw a note that it was undeliverable because she couldn't access the property). What a load of horse crap! Of course you can access my property; how did my other packages get delivered? I was home early from work waiting for the package when she did a hit-and-run on my mailbox! I went to the Post Office and spoke to Jose who didn't exactly believe me because he wanted video of the incident. He said he would hold the package so I could pick it up from them directly the next day. Well you guessed it, he didn't do that and sent it out for delivery. So not only did they delay the delivery of the package, but I wasted my time and gas traveling to the post office twice to try and resolve an issue caused by a lazy employee. Let be frank, I don't need to use the word lazy to describe her since Post Office employee and lazy are synonymous. Want another example? Two years ago I was here and I had a bunch of party invitations to mail out. The employee told me I should go online and print the postage labels myself. I looked at him and said, "This is probably the reason you're going out of business. Postal employees don't want to do their job anymore. I'm bringing you business and you're too lazy to do your job." Should I expect more from government employees, yes. I expect them to do their job or go into the private sector where incompetence and poor customer service is met with a pink slip and not a pay check! Juanita, you're a gem surrounded by rocks. Our US postal service delivery man child cursed me out in what I believe was Armenian. We live in Mountain Cove a nice and peaceful neighborhood. Beautiful day just washing the car and he starts complaining to me about another car parked in front of our neighbors house. (There's no signage stating you cannot park your vehicle within a specified distance. So people who don't live here would never know.) The car was parked about 6-8ft from the mailbox. Poor guy had to use the steering wheel on his mail truck to get around it then cried to me about the car with the ugliest nasty attitude for no reason. I said "that's not my car, not my problem." We exchanged a few words till he lost his mind and cursed me out in a foreign language. Literally screaming and unhinged. I would love to have a friendly mail man that didn't have a problem using his legs to get out of his car take 2 steps and put mail in the mail box. Unfortunately we don't and he is the epitome of entitlement and what's wrong with government employees. No the government doesn't care about a Yelp review. But I have to say we have the absolute worst mail man and he's a disgrace to this country. read more

Let me just preface by saying, we all have sh*tty days at work. I get it. I also work in retail setting; there are days when customers will get on your nerves--it's more common than you think. Therefore, I always try my best to be polite and understanding, and to avoid or diffuse any conflict if possible. I think it's easier on both the employee and myself, and the world is a little better because of that. So imagine how upset I felt today, to get yelled at for not my fault, but for the fault of their own US Post Office workers. (Even if in the rare case of its being my fault, which I assure you, the chance is very slim, screaming at your customer is still considered very rude. Don't do that, please. Be kind to one another.) Anyhow, I had a package waiting for me to be picked up at this post office. I often do, so they should recognize my face by now. As a frequent customer, I thought they've always treated me cordially. (Well, definitely not today...) And because of my own familiarity with them in parallel, if I run into any hiccup when picking up, I usually know what's wrong, and I would guide them, essentially to help them help me a little faster and a little better. And today was no exception. You see, for more than one occasion, they'd file my package (a parcel) in the wrong section of their back room, or the storage area for packages/boxes/parcels. My package should be filed and stored away in say, Area A, but one of the workers often messes up, and would put it in Area B instead. Area A and Area B are maybe 15-20 feet away from each other, and when done correctly, this system helps the employees to find the appropriate parcels easily and quickly. And you guessed it! Today, that exact same thing happened, which doesn't faze me at all. It's a small mistake, no biggie at all... until this happened. When the gentleman assisting me couldn't find my package, he started to get annoyed with me. (I think he was under a little bit of stress because there was a prior customer that gave him a bit of trouble, but that's hardly a justification for projecting your anger at your next patron, i.e. me.) First, I assured him that the package was indeed in this very post office, which he doubted while also giving me some frustrating remarks. What happened was: a supervisor at another branch (Covina) had already done the sleuthing for me, and tracking confirmed that the parcel was still secured and waiting for my arrival *at this correct location*. Hey, man, we did our homework already! Then, I told him very nicely, instead of looking at the same area (Area A) over and over, maybe try to look at Area B instead. I mean, Area B wasn't far away as pointed out above. He was just being stubborn and going by what he saw was his principles. Side note: In reality, at this point, he was testing my own boiling point, but I kept my cool. He was getting angry, there's no point for me to get angry, too. Nothing would get done. Anyway, he dismissed me quite curtly and essentially said 1) I was wrong, and 2) I wasn't comprehending him correctly. Oh trust me, man, I understood you just fine, and I knew with a 90% certainty and you'd find what we both needed at the moment if you could just walk over to Area B and search for it, just a short distance over. He reluctantly agreed in the end, and within literally 8 seconds later, he returned to me with the misfiled shipment. See what I told you? The rest of transaction was, I guess, acceptable by bare minimum. The office employee seemed to have calmed down and was glad that I'd finally be on my way, I suppose. The sole reason why I still wanted to share this negative experience was that *he never apologized*, not for the misplacement by their own employees, and not for his less-than-optimal demeanor for one of their regular customers. Again, I emphasize, I am always agreeable when I visit them. I only treat them the way I wish to be treated. Given, I still had plenty of positive experience from this branch prior to today, and most workers are still cheery enough in attitude in general. In fact, you'd see in my previous review that I mostly defended them from negative remarks. (Read my "previous review" if desired.) Well, you know what, today marks the day when I am officially on the cusp at 3 stars. I'd still try to maintain a civil and friendly customer-and-business relationship with them, but I just wish that they would always reciprocate the same amount of effort back in the future. read more

March 2018 PASSPORT Service here is great! Finding a place to get first-time passports is extremely frustrating and difficult. I got both passports for my infants done here. Ordered gift cards from Costco and it shows it was delivered by the post office. Never received them. don't understand why my mail always gets lost. Why saa service that has so many issues. I always get other people's mail but return it to the right owner. Why can't others do the same I get a call a few days after my post and the manager says he thinks he knows what happened and will call me back in a few days. Over the years i never had bad service here. our Mail Carriers ain't perfect either, but they do try to fix their mistakes. My sister had sent me a box from Texas here to Cali, it was baby formula. I know, people may say "so? What's the big deal?" Well no one knows what the other person may or may not be going through...however that is how all this mess began. The box was supposed to have arrived on a Monday and it was now Wednesday and I began to freak out. Then I called Wednesday to ask about the location of the package and that it had been that long for me to not having received it. Then I asked the mail man assigned to our area and he said that he would find it. His name is Vinny. He is the BEST!!! He found it that night and though he was off the next day he was making sure we got it the next day because he saw the worry in my face. I stopped at this post office because it was on the way home from doing errands. Never again. It's an older post office so it's terribly lit and just looks run down in general. No APC here. As I stood in like for 45 minutes (with 3 tellers!) a guy in front of me talked on the phone loudly. Two thumbs up! They have really stepped up their game at this post office! I used to avoid coming here because the lines were so painfully long and service was slow so I actually drove further to get to another post office. I decided to give it a shot about two months ago. I'm not sure why, I just figured I'd hope for the best. I've been back about 8 or 9 times since then and have experienced speedy service every time! The shady old lady in the glasses needs to have a performance review or firing due to false information given to customers. I came to drop off a package here. The lady with the glasses told me to leave my package on the counter and they will scan it. I asked for a receipt, she said they aren't printing out receipts out due to Covid. I felt it was sketchy already why she would tell me they aren't printing out receipts. My return package was never received back to the merchant. It has been 3 weeks since I dropped it off. I dropped off two packages in the USPS blue mail boxes across the street from USPS and both never showed up to their recipients. That is so strange! Don't ever drop anything off without getting a receipt from somebody who works there, there's a 50% chance it won't arrive to the destination. The past few times I've been to this post office there was always a long line, I even got there super early. I got my package's lost and the lady that was assisting me couldn't help me track them because I lost the receipt so I had to do a second package I was assisting by another man when I asked them if I loose the receipt there's no other way you guys can tract my package he replied with "we can always use your address as well" so that lady that mentioned to track packages they needed the receipt because of the tracking number was a liar and just didn't want to do her job. To my surprise she was standing right next to the man that was helping me out . The staff there don't even look like they enjoy they're job and I never see the manager in sight. Gotta admit, I was very hesitant on using this post office based on the reviews. But I had to mail an important package on a time crunch so I had no choice. I arrived at 9am on Wednesday and was attended to by Maribel. She was super friendly and helpful. She offered to give me a tracking receipt on my already postaged package because it was important when other post offices flat out told me they couldn't provide tracking on similar pre-postaged parcels. The fact that she went out of her way with a super pleasant demeanor really made my transaction painless and easy. I was in and out within a few minutes.
