Carmen, why did you throw the box at me? What a rude old lady. I go to this post office a least 3 times a week. It has great parking and it has a drive through drop off for regular mail. The lines usually move at this location. It's conveniently located off of Canoga Ave.. Today though was unique! There's two cashiers working and one was free to help me. I walked up to Carmen and wanted to mail a birthday card and small gift. Right away she said that the box needed tape and threw the box at me. Then gave me tape witch was not clear and would cover my address info. I asked her for any clear tape and she looked so confused. Then I asked if I could buy some clear tape and she fell even deeper into confusion. WTF! Am I on candid camera? I packed the box the way she wanted and she forgot about me and finishing my transaction, and kept taking more new customers. Forget it! I went to the other cashier and she helped me quickly and answers all of my questions. By the way the new cashier suggested a different way of packing and sending my item and saved me $7.15... I will avoid this grouchy old lady in the future!!! She should retire or drink a strong cup of coffee before her shift starts! read more

Service: Professional! Saved me priceless amounts of shipping cost! Wait Time: 5 - 15 minutes depending on the day and time. Parking & Convenience: Good parking lot with two drop-off boxes! Comparison: To other USPS, here they seem the most competent and professional. However, it is not as fast as UPS in time and service wait time. Price: N/A (I use an online shipping label). Extra: I went to the USPS on Northridge, and I knew that my package was over two lb's from the original 11 lb's. They told me that I needed to pay 40$ to ship my box. This post office is like many, understaffed. Seems like whenever I go, there is a small line that takes a long time. I often pay people cash to go for me so I can avoid it. However, my local postman is awesome, and now that I use usps.com, he can pickup just about everything I can ship. read more

I went in on a Saturday morning, and had a pleasant experience. Line comes and go, but wait time is about 1 to 5 min from what I can tell. Staff is extremely helpful and efficient. All of the people I saw working there were younger males. I think the staff here is pretty savvy, and try to do their jobs well and efficiently. This particular post office is more efficient than most and the workers are nice and helpful. One of the ladies could not find the address in her system for where my package was going. She took time to look for the location. She was patient especially since the post office was officially closed for the day. I really appreciated her help, and patience. read more

The worst usps office in the nation! My Mom got a missed delivery notice. I went there with the notice, they refused to give me the package cause my address was not matching with my Mom. Gave me a number to call for redelivery. The number is a joke, an automated machine asks for first name, last name and never get it right. It's a huge inconvenience. This is the absolute WORST post office in the west side of the SFV, EVER. I have never once walked in to this post office and came out satisfied with anything about it. Wait time is long because the ones working the desks are either never there and if they are there, they are completely incompetent. I once went in to mail a package and I needed a small piece of tape to readjust my label. Their logic: don't offer a piece of tape from the tape dispenser sitting right by the computer screen, but try to sell me a huge roll of tape for $4(!!!). Never have I encountered any employee who was friendly, smiling, or actually helpful. They all look like they hate their job all the time and treat you like crap. Do yourselves a favor and drive an extra mile or two to go to the post office in Chatsworth if you can. I'm never setting foot into this craphole again. read more

I sell items on eBay and buy postage through eBay so I can prep my package and just mail it without having to stand in line. This P.O. is right on my way to work so I would drop off my padded envelope in the box out in front of the office (pick up times of 10am and 5pm daily). I noticed that it would take three days or more for the tracking number to show that they'd actually processed my package. I found this unacceptable and stopped dropping of my packages there. After a year or so, I decided to give this P.O. another chance to see if anything has changed. I mailed a couple DVDs I sold on eBay in the box in front of this P.O. on Thursday morning (around 8:15am). I then mailed another DVD at the Woodland Hills P.O. on Friday afternoon. On Friday evening, the one I mail at Woodland Hills has been processed and is on its way. On Saturday afternoon the ones I mailed on Thursday morning have yet to be processed. i.e. This P.O. still sucks. So, if you want your mail to sit around being ignored by some classic, neanderthal civil servants, then this is the P.O. for you. I hope they close this location down as the employees certainly don't know anything about doing their jobs. (Or they just don't care. Either way, your mail won't get delivered anytime soon.) read more

They tell me we will call you back when we find it and never did. I come back and I talked to the so cal rude supervisor Carmen Murray and she seems not to care and said we are still looking for it and we will call you. This USPS holds on to your packages, dont scan them, and ship them 5 days later. Not good for business owners who need to fulfill their orders right away. Horrible customer service from this guy ERNIE, a pudgy asian guy who is so lazy. Since they hold on to packages, I need receipts for my packages so I have proof that it was dropped off. I came in yesterday, there was NOBODY inline, I have five boxes and a four year old in tow(thats all I can carry at a time), and I said I have two more in my car and to hold on, he said we dont give out receipts to anyone who has more than five packages. And if there is someone in line, you would have to go back to the back of the line for your other packages.REALLY??? THERE WAS NOBODY INLINE, WHEN I GOT THERE, ERNIE WAS TWIDDLING HIS THUMBS BECAUSE HE HAD NOTHING TO DO. The laziest people work at the post office. Never again. The specific Post Office in Canoga Park next to the Strip Joint, (watch the driveway, LOL), has always given me problems. The most recent one was a package this Post Office received from UPS, and it took them 5 days before they recorded it in. They received in 5/23 from UPS, and on 5/27 I went to the Post Office to pickup my package. They told me that they did not have it, and could not understand why UPS said that they had received it, and told me to leave. The fact is that the Post Office had physically received it 5 days previously, and it took them that long to record it in their system. Of course, they recorded it in 5/28 AM and it is on the truck today. My point is that they are not efficient as most Post Offices, and certainly not as efficient as UPS. When UPS allowed the Post Office to receive and deliver their packages this has allowed an inefficient agency, (at least some of the Post Offices), to ruin what UPS USED TO BE! read more

Parking is easy, but that's the only plus. The hours for the passport office hours are posted incorrectly online. They say it closes at 3pm, but I was told at the desk after waiting in line that it closes at noon. You guessed it, it was after noon. The teller even cheerily added that the website has been wrong for quite a long time, in a tone of voice that implied that I should feel better knowing that. Top work, guys. Seriously, there are 7 year olds that could recode the website with the proper hours in mere seconds. Get your sh*t together. read more

Worst post office in the valley!!!! They NEVER answer their phone. One time I called about 10 times regarding a package that was lost. They never answered finally I went in and as I was there I got on my phone and called to see if maybe their phones ringer was off or maybe they were all on other calls. And nope I called and they just let it ring and ring and ring. To top it off they are rude and filled with useless information they want no part in helping you solve your issue!!!! If I could give this place no stars I would. This post office has "lost" 2 of my packages so far. Even with tracking, the tracking always ends at "deivery status not updated" meaning it never got scanned again after leaving the post office as I was told by the supervisor there. Every time I try getting an answer from them they tell me to leave my number so that they can give me a call back the next day when the mailman/woman for my area gets back to the post office. I have left my number with two different people a worker & the supervisor FOR THE SAME PACKAGE and still haven't gotten a call back, it has been 4 days. Luckily the companies I purchased my items from understood the situation and send it a second time. HOPEFULLY THEY DONT MESS IT UP THIS TIME.
