Every time I've been here the employees have been super friendly and helpful. I'll admit, the line is often long and moves very slowly, but that's not necessarily the fault of the people working there. I just budget for at least an hour. read more

Amazing service. I had some horrible service and mix up at the UPS store and Renee at the post office was amazing and helped me sort it out.

Using there passport services are a big hassle and lots of trouble . I booked two appointments online from about a month and a half ago were it took me all day because of there website kept having errors on there scheduling services and when finally did I printed info to bring with just in case . Showed up about ten minutes earlier just as recommended by there instructions knocked on the door and Robert from passport services tells us to stand all the way back to the other end of the center until we are to be called . And about 25 minutes late we were called to be told to stand me , my wife , 8 year old girl and 8 months old baby by the wall and listen to him about not to touch anything. How we didn't have all the papers because he couldn't see it in our hands when walked in to his office so we had to stand outside to Waite for everyone else he had to finish first .the papers he was referring to are the copies of the drivers license . When I told him I made two appointments and that there online services had some trouble when booking this appointment he replied " no they didn't have any trouble " and the info was there even though he got us late and that he gave us only 2 minutes of our appointment time he got upset and told us we had to Waite for everyone else because we were not ready . The person was helping us "Robert" was extremely rude and unprofessional . Looks like he had no people's skills and was just miserable in nature and should not work in public places were to deal with general public specially when dealing with families . That experience reminded us of why we don't use this facility rather go to Pleasanton or even San Francisco the times before . By the way He kept telling us to listen and do as we were told , kept saying listen, listen to why he had to say . And when asking ant thing he would say you were not listening !!!!!!! Maybe he got to look for something else like radio show host if he likes to talk and be heard , maybe ! He would find someone to Listen? By the way he took us in about an hour and fifteen minutes late from our booked appointment and the whole time we were in his office was about 10 minutes or less.without apologizing for not getting us in on time and blaming us for not getting correct paperwork witch made no since because the form he was referring to was at his disk and we filled it out at the office before in Pleasanton .I won't recommend this office to anyone unless you want to be disrespected. read more

This review is the for the old gentleman at the passport office, not the USPS service. i went to my passport appointment today to renew my kids' passport. when i saw the old gentleman who opened the door, i knew that he was the same person from my kids' last passport renewal. i knew this wasn't going to go well as he was very rude and super strict last time in front my my kids who were much younger back then. he asked parents to stand against the wall and only follow his instruction. we felt like we were getting treated as some kind of criminal or illegal immigrants. it was like 'do as i say or else' kind of tone. at the end we couldn't get them renewed because he told me their photobooth was broken and that he had called everyone to let them know. however, i don't take calls from strangers so i have not gotten any calls. who in 21st century calls people to confirm. anyway i still wanted to get something out of this appointment so i asked if he could confirm at least i brought the right documents. and of course i got lectured on where the instruction is and how to follow. when i asked clarifying question, he was again being rude by saying i did not hear him correctly the first time. on the way out, my wife asked me to please book appointment else where next time. i hope this guy retires soon because this isn't the right way to serve/treat people. i came home and look up the yelp reviews and to no surprise i found similar reviews about this guy here. you've been warned. do not process your passport here unless you have no other choice. read more

I expected more from this post office. Staff is friendly and fast. EXCEPT FOR THE GUY WHO HANDLES THE PASSPORT APPS! Terrible customer service and SLOW! I don't know if he remembers what he says or WHAT HES DOING. He likes to drag out the process. He continuously makes people come back. I've watched him numerous times. Now it was my turn. I followed all of the steps posted on the passport site. But yet ... i had to come back. I'm not normally one to bash on people... but it's time for him to go!! Then I come back at the time he wrote on my card. Leaves me hanging for 40 min! Then I say excuse me can i ask you a question(thinking maybe i should just come back) With out even lifting his head. They're really great at being unnecessarily rude to every customer they see while simultaneously making them wait in a long, slow moving line for no reason because they won't be helpful either. One of my personal favorite things in life is not interacting with humans. Especially ones that work at the post office. What better invention than the automated postage machine? I walked in and stood in line with my Grandma's Birthday present package under my arm. Along with about 7 other people. There was an employee going from person to person asking how they were paying for their postage. Everyone in front of me said cash and I of course said,"Debit Pleeeaaaase!" I was whisked out of line and taken right over to the automated machines. The employee put my package on the scale. Showed me how to use the touch screen to make the appropriate postage purchase, and I was out of there in 3 minutes flat. Which would you rather do: have a checkup at the dentist, or do business at the local post office? Yeah, for most people, that's like asking if they'd rather watch "Ishtar" or "Heaven's Gate". Me included, although I love my dentist. I try to avoid getting in line to talk to a post office clerk. There are other issues that we have too, but I can't forget a joke by Jimmie Walker: "The Post Office is doing drug tests for its employees. You know what they won't find? SPEED!" The San Ramon post office has its redeeming values, though. It's the same age as the area in which it's located, developed at the end of the last century, so not very old. Clean, a good amount of parking. I've seen long lines here many times. But today, Friday at 11:15am, there were few people in line, although the clerks took their time. Which may be a good thing if you have a conscientious clerk. And I had a conscientious clerk named Claudia. She was careful with the man in front of me, making sure she had his request all right, and that he understood all his options. When it was my turn, she was very helpful in answering my concerns about mailing a food item to my wife's BFF in Texas. She probably won't get a raise for being helpful, but it looks like she's not doing it for that reason, but to genuinely help the customer. Boss, take notice. Post Office workers are govt workers, but not bureaucrats. The postal worker you meet (such as my wife's BFF) is a customer service rep, and like in all service companies, you get good apples and bad seeds. And I've gotten some bad seeds from the USPS over the years, which makes a very good apple like Claudia a relief. I won't say "you must go here!", but the San Ramon office has more good qualities than most post offices. read more

The Post Office is what it is, a government agency. How many people have had a positive experience with the DMV, social security office or passport office? What are your options UPS or DHL are just as bad. If you have the money to send a letter or package for $20-$40 then you deserve FEDEX. Other wise for $.50 a letter this is what you get. These employees get paid the same to help 1 customer or 5000 customers. The USPS is a necessary evil. The good thing about the San Ramon Post Office is that it is big and has all the automated machines, PO boxes, drive thru outside mailboxes. She is rude and always talking down to customers. She should not be working for the US postal service. Overall that wait time is long and most of the employees are rude and they are only obviously working for a pay check. They could care less if you are helped or not. Back story: I previously sent my wedding invitations at the Walnut Creek post office (they were awesome and super helpful). I had to send a handful left. Since I already knew the weight and how many stamps I needed, I requested the exact amount. A lady began to yell at me saying that it was going to cost $4 each to send the invites and that if I left them there they would not send them out. I quickly left and went back to Walnut Creek. I have never been treated so rudely. The people at the counter are very nice. They deserve all the stars. The lady who handles mail pickup consistently treated customers with disdain, lecturing about picking mail up, how it's not the USPS problem, they need to come pick up more frequently, etc. I saw several people argue and it's pretty rare to see such a dismissive employee. I'm not saying the worker was in the wrong with the facts but the attitude was not necessary. My apartment suspended mail to put new boxes in and I was forced to go get the mail here until they were finished. The first time wasn't terrible but this time the lady basically refused to help me. The mail said delivered yesterday. It was not delivered as they were holding it still yesterday. She said it was delivered today. It was not. Basically I am out a package because she won't go look for it and it's nowhere to be found. I plan on calling the manager Monday and asking them to go look for the package. Given the state of current technology I also want to know why there is not ability for them to say something his at the post office versus delivered at your mailbox. The problem with saying it is delivered is you are SOL come on now people. If I can know exactly where my pizza is I should well be able to tell where a damn package is! Avoid at any costs. Ahhh much nicer than the Walnut Creek post office! Since I work in the area, if I can make it here during lunch for any shipping needs, I'd rather come here. They have 3 self serve shipping stations, ample windows open staffed during busy hours and the place is clean and spacious. The parking lot is more than adequate and even during the Christmas season, I've never had a problem finding a spot. Definitely a top notch postal option. The Yelp 100 Challenge! read more

There's a reason this post office has the worst reviews out of all the post offices in this area. One sweet day a postal worker came to our door to tell us we had left our keys inside our mailbox keyhole. When he handed me the keys I immediately noticed a car key attached that did not belong to us. It was easy for me to determine that the keys did not belong to us. I let the postal worker know this and handed him back the keys so he could find it's owner. He remarked "strange" and I agreed! Either someone had attempted to break into our mailbox and their keys got stuck or they accidentally mistook our mailbox for theirs. The next day I went to our mailbox with our key and discovered it would not open. It appears whoever stuck their key in our mailbox had jammed the keyhole so we were unable to open it. Easy fix right? WRONG!! I called our local USPS per instructions given by the USPS toll free representative. I spoke with (Pamela is it?). Hi Pam, yea I'm talking to you. This is how our conversation went down. I explained the situation and told her the USPS rep said I had to call my local post office to get the keyhole fixed since it was considered vandalism. PAMELA: So you left your key inside your mailbox and our postal worker brought it back to you? ME: No, someone ELSE left their key inside our keyhole and your postal worker brought it to me because he thought the key belonged to us. PAMELA: I'm confused. How did the keys get inside your mailbox? ME: It wasn't INSIDE our mailbox, they were hanging from the keyhole. PAMELA: And you couldn't get the key out? ME: The postman discovered them during his service, pulled them out, and brought them to me because he thought they were our keys. When I realized they were not our keys, I handed them back. PAM: He gave you the key to someone else's mailbox? ME: I don't know. Ok. Let me rewind. (I started, slowly, from the beginning) PAM: So you gave the keys back to one of OUR postal workers, he took them, and now you can't get into your mailbox? ME: Yes. PAM: Why did you give him the keys? ME: Because they were not OUR keys Pam. PAM: But now you can't open the box because you don't have keys. ME: (Dammit lady) No. we can't open the box because some unknown person, that we don't know, put THEIR key into OUR mailbox, broke the keyhole, so now we can't open OUR mailbox with OUR key. NITWIT: Hmmm. I'm going to have to check in with that postal worker about the keys but as far as I can see, he wasn't being negligent so you'll have to call a locksmith and pay to get the lock fixed. ME: I'm not accusing him of being negligent. I'm reporting an act of vandalism to our mailbox NITWIT: Like I said, I'm going to have to speak to that worker but I want you to be clear that it's likely going to be your responsibility to fix the box. ME: Excuse me? Your 800 rep said this is considered an act of vandalism and is therefore YOUR job to fix. Why would I pay for something I didn't do? NITWIT: If you have your key and are unable to access your mail because you jammed the lock, you'll have to pay to get it fixed. Until then you can put a hold on your mail for pick up. I come to the San Ramon post office at least 3 times a week or more. I have lived near this one about four years and never had an issue until today. I was waiting in line. I was serviced by a newer person at the fourth window, the last window closest to the drop window and self check out. When I was called I presented my pre-labeled packages and ask for a scan as I always do. To which she shook her head no and said these need to go over there and pointed to the drop window next to her. I explained these were eBay packages and needed to be scanned accepted. She said they don't say eBay on them . She then said I can't help you we only scan ones that are from eBay and Poshmark to which I'm replied they are eBay would you like to see the listing and tracking number. To which I was told to please stand back behind yellow line. Granted I wasn't behind the yellow line I admit. However all the previous customers she serviced while I was in line she never asked to stand behind the line. I did so then she told me to hold on. When she came back she said to talk the Lily at window one she can better explain this to me. Mind you I come her 3 times a week and this has never happened. So I wait for Lily. I go to the window and she says we only give receipts for eBay and Poshmark. I told Lily I never asked for receipt. I only need them scanned and the last lady refused to scan them. She quickly scanned them and I was on my way. As I got in my car and drove away I wonder why this postal worker was so hostile to me. I don't know her and she doesn't know me. I didn't ask for anything out of the ordinary. Yet she was adamant that she was not going to help me or deal with me. Why? I have noticed this trend in customer facing businesses where the people behind the counter believe they have some kind of authority. Well remember this dictator behind the counter, without customers you have no job. Treat them like shit they will go elsewhere. You're not doing your the business any favors. Just because you think you have power doesn't mean you do. I will be reaching out to the supervisor as well as sending a letter to postmaster general. Such trashy service. Long story short, I went in there for a passport. I made the appointment, followed all the directions. A gentleman called and told me to come in early as earliest possible, so I did. When I got there, a lady in the front, (don't know what her problem was), but said the guy not there. So I'm like, does he have to be? I'm just here for passport ? Apparently she didn't believe me that I made an appointment. I had to show her the voicemail that Roberts left for me to come in early. How pathetic is that? Why would anyone lie about things like that. Anyways, she definitely needs to take some customer service courses. We have it mailed to the old address so we can still have it on time. However since we do change of address all mail would be rerouted to new address which would take 10 days to arrive. I had an extremely disappointing experience at this location yesterday. As a healthcare worker (RN) I truly understand the stressors that COVID19 has put on all essential workers. I truly sympathize with all who get up everyday and go to work despite the risks. However, this does not excuse simply put- utter distain attitude towards customers. It's been quite some time that I've truly been taken back by someone's deliberate and degrading attitude. In all honesty there were two employees that were just miserable and negative from the moment I said hello. The first an older woman with longer grey hair. When I took the wrong form and pointed out that the labels were misleading she instead of taking it as constructive became short and dismissive. Once I filled out the forms I stood back in line (I had a mask on- I think it's important to note that NO EMPLOYEE had a mask and were constantly less than 6-ft from one another). Just prior to being called I heard loud and clear one of the employees behind the desk say "oh hell no not today, I'm not dealing with any of these people today". Ok not a great start (again). I was then called to the counter by Leatrice, the employee that just made that negative statement . I said a friendly hello and good morning to which she did not answer. I then said good morning again hoping to get a smile, instead I got an extremely rude and sarcastic "I already said hello". To which I replied im sorry you're having a bad day I hope it gets better, hoping to lighten the mood. "Ma'am I'm having a great day thank you very much" again with attitude. I think it's also important to note that as a healthcare worker who rarely visits the post office I'm not familiar with forms or procedures so I look to the post office professional for help as they are the experts- I do not ask questions to annoy or piss them off, I truly don't know. I would never expect a post office employee to enter a healthcare setting and not have questions or help them as best as I could, because that's my training and I'm there to help and ensure my patients have and understand what they need in their uncertainty. Leatrice was extremely rude and condescending in her tone the ENTIRE time. When she asked me to step behind the line while I waited I looked to the left to watch the tv and she YELLED at me "ma'am the sign is right here with instructions and pointed to the covid19 precaution sign. #1 I had a mask on and had absolutely no issues with social distancing, it was her attitude I was trying to avoid #2 Leatrice immediately made a wrong assumption that I was looking at other guests in to comparison myself. No I was literally trying to escape her attitude by watching the tv for distraction. She then started humming loudly (not in a nice way but a deliberate taunting manner). She took her time giving me my price options and then misquoted so later had to redo as I asked for pricing for both rather than one of my packages. She continued her humming over my questions. It took her nearly 20 minutes to complete the stickers for my 2 packages. The lines beside me were moving efficiently and I noted that they also had packages to be handled. Long story long... you never know who your customers are. Everyone should be treated with respect and dignity. Questions are meant to be answered because there's a genuine intent to understand the right way to do it- not to annoy the person who has the knowledge. And finally during a very stressful time, we need to be kind to one another- not do everything we can to make the customer feel small and dismissed. Please take this as constructive for improvement. Everyone deserves to be treated kindly and with respect. My attempt to do this with both post office employees was met with nothing but negativity. Everyone can do better. 1) consistently delivers mail to wrong address. I thought part of the job qualifications would be the ability to read and focus. 2) deliveries are marked as delivered when they have not been yet. 3) they have phone on auto recording during business hours that asks that you call back during regular business hours. If you want to leave a message, the message box is always full. So, no way to get in touch with them. I'm having difficulty finding any highly reviewed business having a worse yelp score. Clearly there is no accountability, having a consistently dismal yelp average review and not changing things. read more

Our development had new mailboxes installed and I have not received mail in a week and a half. We were told to pick up mail at the Alcosta location. I have received notices that 3 packages in the last week have been "undeliverable with no access". We do not have any problems with our mailbox, we have been home --thanks COVID, and no one has attempted delivery. I went to the post office in San Ramon last week. I was told the supervisor or our mail carrier would contact me. No contact has been made. Yesterday, we did not receive any mail (this has happened before) even though we received information that two items were delivered. This is horrible service. This office, like many, is staffed by the most incompetent, unhelpful, and unknowledgeable humans you have ever met. I will not be returning, it is worth a journey to another office just to save time by not having to deal with these people. I made a passport appointment online for renewal, they called me an hour before to tell me that their photo machine is broken, from a blocked number. I could not get ahold of anyone by phone to figure out what that meant i needed to do. Upon arrival there was no instruction as to where passport appointments were even taken, and the employees could not direct me to it. Over twenty minutes after my appointment, the individual responsible comes out from the back and tells me that I missed my appointment and walks through a closed door and vanishes. This is the post office I grew up with! Way back when in the 90s I was in pre-school and my mom and I ran an errand here and while we were driving in the parking lot an old guy backed into us and dented our car. I was sitting on the same side in the back seat that he hit but thankfully I was okay. LOL that's irrelevant to the post office but I thought I'd share ha ha I hadn't been to this Post Office in years! I came here to drop off some Poshmark sales yesterday morning. The package drop off bin doesn't take the USPS boxes like the other locations do, I'm not sure why the boxes don't fall in. Anyway I ended up giving my boxes to the lady working there so all was good! This is probably the biggest post office I've seen! Most of it is due to the P.O. Boxes. There's a lot of parking. It's definitely more efficient than the Dublin location. read more

I normally do not write bad review but this is totally very bad services and have nothing to do with CONV-19. 1) There is no way you can contact anyone at this post office during their business hour 2) I dropped off many packages on Saturday but none of tracking numbers are on their system by Monday 5 PM. This wasn't like this before. I don't know what is changed lately. 3) We paid for the tracking numbers so we can track our packages but USPS did not scan them properly, so why do we need to pay for tracking number? can someone there answer this question. read more

I've had to pick up my mail @ this location since Nov when they stopped delivering mail (door theft-usps property) gone unreplaced for months! I agree with the reviewers here. This post office's mailmen/women are amazingly bad. Over the past few months, I have had packages lost because it was delivered to another address. I had to look for them at my neighbors' porches myself. Holding your mail is not followed. My neighbor once saw a bag of my mail on my front door when I was in the middle of my weeks long vacation. When I came back, no accumulated mail and missed a few important mails. No use calling and asking for help, too. I don't know how can they get away with such incompetence, uncaring attitude, in a neighborhood like ours. read more
