Why is our postal carrier Mohammed of valley village (I live here now) not picking up our mail daily? Sometimes no one comes - it happened in the summer when it was very hot. As mentioned in my other reviews, we recently moved here from NYC. Right away I will say that this post office is a level above ANY post office in NYC for courtesy and speed. We have visited here about 15 times since moving. Every employee has been patient, friendly, knowledgeable and courteous. Yes, some smile more than others. The supplies are mostly filled and if anything is missing all you have to do is ask and they will get it for you immediately. Parking depends on the time of day (lot is shared with a pizza place, a restaurant, a crossfit gym, and the photo place). The only problem here is the customers. I refer to the inconsiderate buffoons who can't park properly between lines, can't follow "Do Not Enter" or "No Parking" signs, arrive at the post office completely unprepared, can't follow simple directions, are illiterate, have to bring pets and numerous children, make believe they don't see the line, expect concierge service, can't read rate signs (Yes, UPS and FedEX are more expensive), must text their buffoon friends during transactions, and leave their trash anywhere they wish. So, if you are looking for decent service and can tolerate the idiot customers this is a great post office. read more

I've been to most of the US post offices around North Hollywood and I think this is my favorite out of them all. Usually not busy and the workers are friendly now. There was one asian lady who isn't there anymore who was VERY rude to customers (never to me but I've witnessed it many times)...not sure what happened to her glad she's not there anymore. read more

This post office is awesome. Most of the staff are very helpful, professional and friendly. They have sorted out so much of my postage and shipping with ease. The only issue are the other patrons which can be pushy and rude. Parking is bad but if you hit it late in the day your fine. I park on the side street so it's in and out. read more

Well I mailed two packages. One boxed arrived with all items completely broken when I told the lady it was fragile items and she refused to put a fragile sticker on my package. The other box got returned to me....WTF. mailed same time to the same address. I had to go back to the post office to get a refund just to get sent to another office with a supervisor. They tracked the other package to make sure I was truthful, only then I got my refund. So if I only had one package would I not be honored a refund? It was a fail. 1 package returned (fight for a refund) 1 package arrived ( all contents destroyed). 1 star because I did get my $13 back. read more

If I could give this Post Office location zero stars, I would. I have been to this location several times and each time is worse than the last. This last visit was the final straw. This location NEVER has stamps. They advertise them on the wall, their job is to mail things with stamps... but they NEVER have stamps to sell. I went to this location today wanting to buy stamps and mail out thank you cards. I asked the lady behind the counter for stamps and she very rudely said "We DON'T have ANY stamps", like I was an idiot for going to the post office and asking to buy stamps. No apology for being out, no assistance on where to go for stamps, just plain blunt rudeness. If you can avoid this location do so. If not, good luck. I will now be driving farther away to get better customer service and a post office that actually fulfills their mailing duties. read more

They need a 0. A package came to my house and was not delivered because the post office said that there was no safe place to deliver it. It was a case of botteled water. Very heavy and not worth trying to steal. Called the Valley Village post office. And they said it would be delivered the next day. Not delivered. And it still isn't here after numerous calls and 4 business days. And a letter that I mail every month is taking 4 business days to go 25 miles when they were getting it there in 1 day. No excuse. Never use the USPS for international shipments. Made a shipment to Australia via priority mail express international with money back guarantee. It is 2 weeks after the guaranteed delivery date and they refuse to refund my $65. On top of that you have to spend hours on hold to speak to someone. Shameful service read more

I use this post office because it's local but that is the only reason. The clerks don't care to help in any way. One blonde woman yelled at me when I asked for a shipping pouch claiming they are not for customers then reluctantly gave me one. Her sour attitude is the worst. I am not sure why the employees hate life so much at this place but I would suggest that anyone using this place to keep as a drop off only. I travel out of my way to a different post office just so I don't have to deal with these people. I have never been there when all the stations are filled with a worker. This place is the worst. And I love the post office generally even in all its bureaucratic glory! But the staff are rude and unhelpful. I've been going here for 3 years and have yet to have a single good or even blandly normal experience here even though I insist on being patient, courteous, and very nice just to spite of them. I have no outlandish needs beyond picking up or mailing the occasional package. I'm not asking questions or asking them to do anything but the most basic semblance of their job. I don't expect them to smile or be nice or chat or anything friendly. They absolutely insist on being terrible human beings to each and every person who walks through their doors, including to one another. I've watched a staff member scream at an elderly woman who needed help. I've been in line when they decide they are closed and won't help those already in the post office and in line for some time. I've watched the staff yell and curse at one another in front of customers. It's seriously perplexing how bad this place is. How? Why? Who is in charge? While I agree with another reviewer, Alex H., that gave them 5 stars; the NYC post offices are abysmal, this place is no better. When I was in NYC, the post office was dirty, slow, and was never a great experience. But it was never an actively bad experience either. It was just time consuming and no fun. That's fine. Don't use if you have any other choices. Today Dec 11 line out the door and one clerk. I could not spend an hour waiting for the clerk to retrieve my package that should have been stored in one of the many available lockers. Tried to reach Interbay post office that supposedly manages magnolia po. Phone rang and rang w/o being answered. Even 1 star is generous for this poor exhibition of bureaucratic complacency. Every time I go here, my experience becomes worse. Unfortunately I keep returning as it is the closest post office to my house, so convenience wins. Inside, tired and/or indifferent clerks seem little bothered by the line that is ALWAYS long. People hate waiting, but they hate being ignored even more. No one behind the counter appears interested in trying to do something about processing people to reduce the line. Occasionally, some drifter from the back asks if there are pick-ups only, and when those customers are taken care of, he/she disappears just as quickly as they appeared. Communication also appears to be an issue, especially with the newer clerks, whose grasp of the English language is shaky. Imagine yourself waiting for half an hour to mail a small packet and when finally called, having to speak slowly and emphatically in order to make yourself understood. It's a wonder there haven't been more physical or verbal abuses here. Installing more do-it-yourself machines and making sure all equipment and supplies are in order would make this place so much more loved -- and people more sane. read more

I wanted to place a complaint on Ed at the customer service. I was shipping a priority mail parcel through the branch. There was a mistake made by Ed and the package returned to me. When I came back to the post office to find out what was the problem, I had to pay a shipping fee again and for some reason it was more than initially. At the even of the day I had to pay twice because clerk made a mistake. Please avoid this person and this branch because it won't make you happy! read more

from my experience, this PO is farrrrrr better than the other local PO, which is the CHANDLER (& tujunga) PO. that one completely sucks & i am about to write a review about why. i gladly go to the Valley Village location instead anytime that i have to mail something. there is rarely much of a line (perhaps because i go early afternoon?) and the employees are way more chill and accessible than the above-hated post office. also it looks cool and has easy, free parking whereas chandler has a metered parking lot = lame. read more

Staffs here talk to the custumers like they owe them something. They are rude specially the guy who's always there. He yells to the people. this post office is very close to my house. i just wish the service from the clerks was even the least bit helpful. my letter carrier had a package needing a signature. did he knock on the door......no!!! he just filled out a package pickup slip and put it in the letter slot. not only has he done this one time but 4 times. so off i go to the post office, find parking, stand in line only to have the clerks take one pick up slip at a time. what happened to asking others in line if they had the same type of slip? no they wont. when asked why not take all of them at a time they told me they were "trying to keep their jobs and thought this was the best way to do so"? what?????????? wouldn't it make sense to be more efficient? so when i get up to the counter i am spoken to in a very condescending manner, like i am so stupid. listen i have a college degree, have two businesses, and am in my 40's. hardly loosing my faculties, coherent, and free thinking. the female counter clerks are just plain rude. read more

I told her that I forgot to use put on the tracking sticker on the package I had already sent down the shoot... she reluctantly went to get the package... THEN she told me that my little "package" was a parcel and I needed to pay more even tho I had been sending the SAME EXACT package in the mail for a year and had paid the extra sized package price. Well, in keeping with the USPS' high standards of customer service, my local mail carrier again was not able to deliver packages I had paid extra to have expedited delivery. It seems he didn't have the strength to open my building's front gate, even after I buzzed him in 3 times. I never have problems receiving UPS or FedEx or even TruPak, only the USPS seems to find delivering rush packages on time too daunting a task. I sincerely hope the USPS goes under. Went to the post office with a prototype wedding invite and the clerk there at the time told us that it would simply be 49 cents. We comeback with ALL our wedding invites packaged, stamped, and ready to go as instructed by the employee of this post office only to be told that the invites cannot be fed through the machine and a surcharge needs to be paid per invite. Fine, we tried to make the best of it, thinking "well, at least our vintage stamps won't have the ink mark on it". Paid the surcharge per invite only to find out that the invites WERE fed through a machine regardless of us paying the surcharge and the stamps had a hand drawn strike through them along with some ugly stickers adhered to the bottom of the invite. After putting so much time and effort into our wedding invites, it was a real bummer to know how ugly they came out thanks to the post office and we helped pay for it too. It's a shame that no one at this post office location takes pride in what they do - they don't realize that their shortcomings mean something to their customers. read more

I used to feel sorry for the postal service as it struggles to find a footing and survive in an electronic age, but after using this location on several occasions, I totally get why it is sinking. I no longer feel bad. Additionally, I have returned letters to them addressed to people who used to live at my address with a "Return to Sender" note, only to find the next day that the same mail was redelivered to me. Like the review from Ethan E I also got a little attitude from the blonde woman. Not sure if it's the same person and she wasn't super rude but unhelpful and indifferent at best. I tried to buy a card that was $2.50. All I had was a $20 bill. She asked if I had anything smaller. When I told her no she said she couldn't give me change. I asked if the other register had change since there are at least 3. She said, "I can't go in that register." Ok, I said I guess I will have to get in line for a different register? She didn't answer, barely looked at me. I said, I'll go out to my vehicle and see if I have something smaller. Went all the way to my vehicle that wasn't parked close. Got back and there was a long line. She looked at me back In line and ignored me. I didn't have enough time to wait in a long line twice. Finally, I got out of line and left without the card. Not the worst experience in the world, but come on... don't treat customers like crap just because you don't have enough change in a drawer. Is that my fault you don't have change? Like I said, not the worst experience by any means, but too much of a headache just to buy a damn card. read more

I have used this post office every now and then and I've never had any complaint, but a clerk that was there today was so rude I actually broke into tears upon leaving. He told me that the package I wanted to send was not properly taped together and that I needed to buy extra tape right then and there. He added that I had written the address in what he felt were too small letters. Basically, he might have been giving me useful information but he did not seem like a helpful man. He was pretty much talking down to me like I was the dumbest person ever. Whenever I asked a question or wanted to clarify something (this was an international package and there was a rather complex customs form to fill out; maybe a postal worker could fill it out in his sleep but I think parts of it would be confusing to most people), he would yell at me. I was so stressed that I wrote a piece of information on the form that was not quite right, but when I asked if I could modify that, he said no. I didn't want to make a scene and hold up the line, since it's the holiday season and I know everyone was in a hurry to get their packages sent out, but I would say that very rarely have I encountered worse customer service. read more
