I order a Pastrami lox w/ capers, tomato, onion ($20) with a drip coffee with (as usual) the least generous splash of oat milk which they charge a dollar extra for ($5.50). To spend almost $26 on a grab and go breakfast, even if it has lox, is not a small amount. The first time they get the order wrong even after I say pastrami lox multiple times and they remake it (it takes way too long considering what happens). The second time, they make the pastrami lox but forget all the toppings - which of course you py extra for. I trust they did it right this time and realize when I am sitting down to eat in Tompkins Square Park I go back and ask for a refund since they already made it incorrectly once. Feels sloppy and disrespectful at this point. They're not apologetic for the multiple attempts at making my order at all. I just bought my first home nearby so was hoping to continue to patron them weekly as a local but they objectively ride on reputation alone. Overpriced with little consideration for customers. We liked Liberty Bagels enough to come back another day, but made sure to steer clear of the namesake bagel. I'm wondering if the food coloring has something to do with the difference in texture.
