Their lavender match was 10/10 I was extremely happy with my choice/ thy had many other sweetening options but lavender is my go to and happy that they had this as an option. Such a cute cafe with a few merch items for sale, candles, sunglasses, cups etc. friendly staff and very fast. Glad I stumbled upon this cafe on Yelp, now I'll have to stop by for matcha when I'm in the area.

Just moved to this area and stopped by here on my daily walk for a lil pick me up! I ordered the pistachio cloud which I think is a seasonal drink, super good and not overwhelmingly nutty. Also liked that it was a petite size and just the little boost I wanted! They have a bunch of cute merch and things inside to if you're a tourist and want a lil OC souvenir!

Came in mid day on Thursday! Place wasn't busy so I got my coffee quickly! Service was okay. I love the look of this coffee shop! I got the iced maple latte with Oatmilk and I really enjoyed it! I thought the drink was going to be sweet but it was just right!!! I would definitely come back for it again! Pricing was also great!

Great, small, super cozy spot that instantly feels welcoming the moment you walk in and walk to the back. The back outdoor patio is lovely bonus. It is beautifully done up. Has wonderful shades and park benches that creates such a warm and inviting atmosphere to socialize, study or read a book . The coffee is genuinely good, well done cortado but unfortunately they don't serve it in a glass (only "to go" paper cup). Parking is definitely the main downside it's limited and you have to paid or risk it. However, the quality of the drinks, service and that neat patio in the back is more than makes up for it.

I love love love Vacancy Coffee! My family friend's have a beach house a short walk from this cafe and we have been making our way to Vacancy for years! I swear by their dirty chai latte - I am super picky about chai and this one is delicious. You also cannot go wrong with their matcha or maple latte. On my last visit, I also tried the everything but the bagel croissant which was filled with cream cheese. Anything you get here will be delish!

My go to for a quick coffee! I almost always get a parking spot right in front. The latte is delicious I just wish it was a little bigger. There's so much ice I feel like it's gone in seconds! Best price around and easy location which is why it's my go to. I would never bring stuff to work here though, it's too small with not enough indoor seating

If you're looking for a basic coffee/latte menu then this is a great spot. I have tried the vanilla latte and the maple latte and both lattes are very coffee forward and sweetened perfectly. I have also tried their Nutella croissant which is so amazing and delicious. Personally, I wish they had just a few more things on their menu but having the basics I think makes this a very solid coffee shop. There is a handful of seating on the inside, which usually gets pretty full on the weekends, but they also have an outdoor area where there's a lot of room too. Parking isn't too bad, it's all street but on the weekend it's easy. Love going here for coffee then grabbing a burrito next door @ tidepoole's!

We arrived on a Saturday at 8am and got in a long, very loud line to order. The line was at least 15 people deep and there was a guest vendor playing music selling baked goods and swag right outside the door. The coffee we received was good, especially the cortado. It was strong yet smooth. My hubby ordered an iced vanilla almond milk latte which had a nice taste, though could've had a stronger coffee taste. There's street parking along the 101 and we walked to the beach from Vacancy and hung out for a while since there wasn't an open seat at the shop. If you're in a hurry, this isn't the place for you but I'd grab a drink if you have time to kill.

Pretty decent coffee, but not in a hurry to return for it, cute interior with only a table or two inside to sit. parking situation is the biggest downside. Is located facing a busy street so parking in front of you're lucky enough to find that may be difficult. On the weekends it's even worse you maybe have to circle around and imo it's not worth all of that.

Great drinks but keep in mind there's pretty limited seating and only street parking! Highly recommend the maple matcha or iced strawberry matcha. The line can get fairly long on weekends but the drinks arrive pretty fast. It's also right across the street from the beach which is a bonus!

This was our morning stop the whole trip. Waking up and the short walk with the beach air made it even better. Top quality beans and good service. You can hang and sip if you want inside and out. Right on PCH. Can't beat it. Looking forward to our next trip for more. read more

Have been coming here a lot in the mornings. Awhile back only got the drip coffee which was very good but have been trying their lattes and flat whites, SO GOOD. They have this Chaga mushroom latte right now and it's amazing, 10/10 recommend if you want to try a new latte. My husband is pretty picky with his coffee's and even he liked it. Also, staff is amazing and always so friendly :) read more

Gothic Latte didn't taste good, and it didn't taste like coffee, when I asked the barista if I could please have a mocha instead, she seemed disgusted and bothered by my request, and replied with attitude saying I'd have to pay an additional charge for the espresso shot in the mocha. I didn't appreciate that I was being treated like a nuisance in front of a full shop of customers, so I decided to leave instead. Unfortunately, horrible customer service, place is not worth the time and hassle, not going back. read more

This Australian owned coffee shop is my favorite in all of OC! The lavender oat milk latte may have changed me, but the espresso is what makes it. The espresso there is by far some of the best I've ever had and I constantly go back to get my own bags for my own machine. On the weekends, they have a local shop drop by some breakfast burritos that are amazing and a must-try, but they sell out quick! read more

I love going to Vacancy Coffee! I've been to dozens of coffee shops and this one is my favorite by far! The staff is always very friendly and have great recommendations! Today, I tried the Lavender Oat Latte and I'm so happy I did! I don't usually go outside my norm but O.M.G.! I'm so happy! Plus, the atmosphere is really relaxing too! Please educate your employees on enforcing state ordinance. Customers should not be let in without mask. That is a LAW Literally just left and not one, not two, but three people had no masks on & the employees didn't say A THING. One of the customers even acknowledged he has the antibodies, as his rationale for him not needing a mask. The baristas were chatting with him & calling him by name, obviously familiar with him, but still didn't ask him to wear a mask Get it together, Vacancy coffee. read more

I was super happy the shop was still open considering everything going on! The has social distancing set up perfect! The staff was friendly and recommended the iced chagaccino! Definitely something I wouldn't have picked! It was so good! Stop by if you're in the area! Super cute shop! read more

Vacancy is less than 5 minutes away from my home and it's such a wonderful cafe! It's always nice to drive down Superior Avenue, go down PCH and grab a cup of coffee! Lavender Latte: Perfect! I love the balance of lavender; it's not overwhelming and the floral notes always perks me up in the mornings! It's one of their more popular drinks that I highly recommend! Dirty Chai Latte: Great! I always like chai tea, but I may need a pick-me-up. By adding one shot of expresso, the sweetness of the chai and the bitterness of the expresso work well together. They also offer great milk substitutes such as oat milk! If you're lactose intolerant, you should definitely try it! read more

AMAZING coffee, adorable and modern atmosphere, and right by the beach! My sis and I grabbed a few iced coffees before going and sitting out in the sand. We got our drinks quickly and even though it was a bit pricy, the drinks were tasty. I wasn't brave enough to try the mushroom one but maybe next time. read more

Get the gothic you won't regret it. Smooth blend, no bitterness, and not too sweet where you get a bellyache after. Overall a perfect coffee. My friend enjoys less sweet coffee and I'm usually a sweet coffee drinker. We both got the gothic and were both so happy!! A drink for everyone! read more

This is an Aussie style coffee shop. Super nice owners. Nice and sunny exposure and right on Pacific Coast Highway. In a location where it's always easy to park right out front. What across the street to the beach or sit in their little patio in the back. Wishing these people well and every time we come in it's been pretty crowded so I know they're going to do good. Have some nice magazines to check out they've got some food that's pretty unique like bagels and pastries plus some and squeezed juices and some packaged foods too. One thing is it's not easy to fine because it's really low-key which is what we love. read more

Wasn't expecting much from this place, tbh just found this place on instagram because I liked the vibes. And this blogger that I follow came here. Came with no expectations but the coffee wasn't bad. Love the lattes here! The vanilla and matcha were good. Just too far for me and need to find parking. It's a tights space but we went when it was empty so it was nice to take photos! I came here on an early Saturday morning. Located on PCH, north of the 55, I enjoyed the beauty of the morning without the crowds. I believe the owners are Australian so now I imagine this is what Australian cafes must be like. It's simple and beachy. They provided a great cup of cold brew, but is it a place I'd drive to when I'm not nearby, probably not. read more

Coffee is good but service was questionable. Came in this morning for a ride, ordered a simple espresso and left a tip, the 2 girls were chatting away 4 other ladies came after me and were served their drinks, while I was standing right in front of them waiting for my order and until after the other ladies got their order I had to remind them and ask where the espresso was??? Something which should've only taken 30 seconds to make took about 10-12 min. I'd come here all the time as a destination point on my morning rides but now not so sure anymore.. read more

Just found this little gem, its less than a mile from my work. The Staff was so great! And quick! There was a line when I walked in and I still ordered and got my coffee in less then 10 minutes!!! Wow! I ordered the maple iced latte MMMMMMMMMM!!! Sooooooo good!! I also, hot the kronut......to die for!!! I will definitely be stopping by here every morning now! read more

If you want a really good cup of coffee near the beach, without the tourist traffic, vacancy is great. It's off the beaten path a bit (not literally as it's still on pch) away from the pier and other busier spots and has more of a local vibe as a result. Highly recommend read more

Never has anything but the coffee. But it deserves a five star. Small, quaint coffee house at the edge of HB/Costa Mesa/Lido Island. Probably best quality in that 5-6 mile radius. I've been to them all multiple times. No brainer. Just beware...if you are going to work at Vacancy it only has two little tables. Enjoy! read more

Love the Aussie vibez in this popular little spot right off the PCH! Amazingly friendly and knowledgeable staff as well as great coffee, small bites and everything in between! Nice little patio in the back, a few cafe tables inside and a nice little bench out front for the cyclists . Always a lit stop on my rides read more

After doing some searching on their menu online, I noticed that there was a drive up delivery option and I immediately added a coffee to my cart. I drove up and clicked the link to let them know I was in the front and waited for about five minutes before I just walked inside the store. Everybody was in the back and when I walked in, I saw my coffee sitting on the side. I was offered a free sample, but no apology for not bringing my order to my car. After I took my first sip, I would say that the cedar cinnamon tasted just like an iced coffee with cinnamon in it. Not exactly what I was looking for and it wasn't anything life-changing. The brownie sample in my opinion wasn't good. The brownie itself was refrigerated and after I let it sit out for a few minutes the brownie had a unusually light texture that almost melted in your mouth like a chocolate, but more airy not your typical brownie that is sort of chewy like cake. It seems like they have a lot of food items that may be a stronger selling point than their coffee.
