A great dinner option for Mon-Wed in Healdsburg! We had a nice dinner at Valette in April '26 on a Tuesday evening, when tourism hasn't picked-up yet, and Healdsburg is mostly a ghost town in the evenings. The restaurant, one of a few owned by the same family/company, prides itself on highlighting local ingredients. As can be seen on the attached photo of my pork entree, the ingredients don't disappoint. Just take a look at the two adorable turnips; possibly the cutest vegetable I've even been served. The proteins were tasty (pork, sole, duck), although my pork was a little overdone. Entree sides were pretty good and healthy, although pairings weren't perfect. Possibly because of rotating local produce. For example, my pork was said to be served with charred cabbage, and I was expecting some crunch / seasoning. Valette excelled at sweet sides and deserts, all of which were delicious. They had a vegan entree option and a great selection of starters and apps. We had the charcuterie which was excellent. Service was good, although our server seemed always rushed. It's admirable that Valette offers benefits to its employees, as listed on the menu. The ambiance on the patio was very nice; possibly the nicest parklette I've eaten in. Overall Valette is a good option for New California / Stakehouse fare, and is located right off the park in downtown; perfect location for walking or window shopping.

Burratta and focaccia. Bread had a grocery store feeling.

Ok.....we wanted to try this restaurant because it had great reviews/stars. However, the food was very disappointing. But, first....the ambiance was trendy, chic country, and on point. The gentleman that seated us was nice and even opened the door when we left. The service was good and friendly, but could have stepped it up a little. The food.....the flavors were horrible and bland. We each had the same salad. The dressing was a smeared sour cream (sure it was called something else) on the bottom with goddess dressing droplets on the side. The salad was pretty, but dressing had no taste. The burratta and focaccia was tangy and bland. The focaccia was white bread from a grocery store that was barely toasted. The lamb ribs were ok, but greasy and the sauce had no flavor. The Japanese sweet potatoes were a pile of fried potatoes with another bland creamy sauce. The wine was excellent.

We came here on our honeymoon and it truly made the night feel so special. They even printed a custom menu for us with "Congratulations" at the top, which was such a thoughtful touch. They were incredibly accommodating with my vegan diet and allium allergy, creating a special cauliflower steak and vegetable dish just for me. Everything felt so attentive and personalized--such a wonderful experience!

Celebrating the start of January. Jacob, our attentive server, welcomed us and provided wonderful service throughout the evening. We sat outside on the cozy beautiful patio. The atmosphere was charming and inviting--perfect for a relaxed yet refined meal. Loved the menu. Every dish we ordered showcased incredible attention to detail. The flavors, presentation, and quality truly exceeded our expectations. I was personally impressed with the way my steak was prepared. It was perfect. We will be back. Thank you for a special dining experience.

My fiancé and I came here for my birthday dinner this past week and had an amazing experience. The food was incredible. Every single dish. We were also amazed at the service. We were sat right away with our reservation and they had printed a personalized happy birthday menu, with a birthday card. We ordered almost immediately and had food coming out in perfect succession of the previous dish. My favorite was the scallop appetizer. I've never had anything like it. Ambiance was beautiful as well and we loved it!

I felt it was a 5 star experience from my end but my moms duck was very tough. We had a lovely server, on pinpoint and friendly. The atmosphere is lively and in the small space not too loud. Ordered cocktails which everyone was happy with and a few glasses of wine. My salad was very nice, fresh veg and a creamy dressing. Also had a steak tartare which I loved. My partner had the "best mussels he's ever had". The scallops and steak were also delish and a fun presentation on the scallop. Duck breast - tough, mom couldn't cut it, I tried to help thinking smaller pieces would help but unfortunately it just wasn't good. Definitely pricey but if I'm back in Healdsburg for an occasion I definitely go again.

If you ever find yourself in Healdsburg, do yourself a favor and make a reservation at Valette -- this place is truly a five-star experience every single time. I've been a few times, but my most recent visit back in August for my birthday was on a whole different level. From the moment we sat down, everything felt so thoughtfully curated. They surprised me with a personalized menu that had a birthday message printed on it -- such a small detail, but it made the whole evening feel extra special, like the experience was crafted just for us. And the food... wow. Saying the chef did their thing is honestly an understatement. Every dish was full of flavor, beautifully presented, and just absolutely phenomenal. The cocktails, appetizers, entrées -- everything was perfectly on point. Since they knew it was our birthday celebration, they brought out a complimentary dessert with a little candle, and the three of us had the cutest moment together. It was the sweetest touch to end an already unforgettable night. Valette never disappoints. If you're looking for incredible food, top-tier service, and an elevated dining experience that still feels warm and personal -- this is the place to go in Healdsburg. Highly, highly recommend.

Valette Walked into a beautiful restaurant with sleek style and cool ambiance. I had the restaurant staff have 2 glasses of champagne reserve brut something Monthuy's Reserve Brut set up for when we arrived and it was good & Toasty Brioche and citrus notes champagne which was perfect way to start the event. And there was a birthday card for Mike on the table which was sweet! Isaac came over to the table and gave us the specials for the night and I was all about the chefs menu of 5 courses with wine pairings! And what was great was they let me choose all of our wines from the wine list because I'm an advanced certified sommelier!. But this definitely had me excited so for the dinner that awaited us. And the 5 course menu cost $135 X 2 = $270.00 Plus reserve wines pairing. $75 X 2 = $150.00 Plus. 2 glasses of the reserve Champagne $46.00 = $466.00 + 14+ for the staff added + 479 + 46 for tax = 525.80 + 150 cash tip. 1st course we had the Oeaetra Caviar - with cured egg, smoked white sturgeon, and buttermilk brioche toast and I chose the Sancerre for Mike and the Matanzas Creek Dry Chenin Blanc for myself and the wines paired beautifully with the caviar. 2nd Course - Scallop encroute- Squid Ink - Melted Leek & Fennel Caviar Beurre Blanc and I paired the David Ramey Chardonnay for Valette with this and the nuanced tropical fruit and apple flavors into the brioche notes of buttered toast with oak! 3rd Course- Porchetta' Tortellini en Brodo: Prosciutto - Parmesan, Crispy Pork Skin. Paired with Pinot Noirs, mine was the savory styled Pinot Noir from the Russian River Valley named Chev for $35/glass and wow it was exquisite along with the prosciutto in tortellinis made for plate presentation and lightly delicate with soul and vigor at the same time! Mike had the Lando Pinot Noir which is from Sonoma Coast and is a more juicy styled Pinot Noir 4th Course- Brown Butter Poached Filet Braised Short Rib - Sauce Bordelaise Heirloom Carrot Puree - Cipollini onion and wow the entree was rich, dense and full of flavor which went spectacularly with the Aperture Cabernet Sauvignon at. $36/ glass and drinking really well that evening and paired well to the big rich filet mignon and short ribs 5th Course- Smoked Volo Chocolate Pave Mousse Cake - Graham Cracker Crumbles Toasted Meringue - Oven Roasted Cherries was delicious and was paired with a Juracon dessert wine and I had a 10 year old Malmsey Madeira and it was a great meal- one of the best all time!! Meals on this Earth!!!

Headline: An Unforgettable Birthday Celebration at a Healdsburg Gem We chose Valette for a birthday celebration, and it was, hands down, the best decision we could have made. From the moment we sat down at the best seats in the house, the personal touches were everywhere--even the menu was personalized with the birthday girl's name. The service was impeccable. Our server, Jacob, was a delight; his deep knowledge of the menu helped us navigate our choices, and his expertise in decanting our 2006 Hewitt Cabernet was much appreciated. We started with the only French Champagne offered by the glass, which paired beautifully with the Tsar Nicoulai Osetra Caviar. While the bowl's design made the caviar slightly hard to reach, the flavors were so stunning we found ourselves pining for more. For entrees, the Liberty Farms Duck Breast was a standout--perfectly medium-rare and easily some of the best duck I've ever had. The Prime New York Strip was equally impressive; the meat was so flavorful on its own that the side of sauce Raifort wasn't even necessary. We finished with two delicate cakes and a lovely visit from the owner, who shared some of the restaurant's multi-generational history. We left feeling truly special.

I spent weeks searching for a new to me restaurant to celebrate my 40th and Valette couldn't have been any better of a choice. From start to finish it checked every box. First I want to say how amazing the service was. We waited not wanted for nothing an it was such a pleasure to be waited on by such a crew. Then dinner. I go to very high end restaurants regularly and eat out every day of the week. This meal was in the top class. Every course was executed perfectly. They also gave my wife and I separate courses for our "trust us" dinner so we ended up having 11 courses instead of 6. There is no. Better value around as far as that option goes. The restaurant itself is gorgeous and in a beautiful part of town. Please do yourself a favor and have a dinner here.

TLDR: Lovely nighttime ambiance paired with refined and delicious food. Scallops like I've never had them before. Fantastic experience with great service -- will definitely be back. ------ FOOD: 1. Scallop (5/5) Tasty, fun, and unique. The scallop is served in a small pot covered by a beautiful puff pastry that you break through and eat with the scallop. Wish there was more than one scallop, but for an appetizer, this was probably the perfect portion. 2. Trout (5/5) Fantastic trout dish with well-seasoned, buttery layers. Not dry. 3. Salad (4.5/5) Great salad, would definitely order again. 4. Snickers Dessert (4/5) Essentially a homemade Snickers bar. Was delicious, but as a dessert lover, I will say that this didn't fully satisfy my sweet tooth craving. ------ SERVICE: * No notes, I thought it was a lovely experience and the waiters checked in on us consistently throughout the night without feeling overbearing. They were very kind to us ------ AMBIANCE / ENVIRONMENT: * Loved the ambiance here. Dark, romantic, cozy. Perfect for a date night!

Valette does not disappoint. It is a must stop in Healdsburg always! Food, service and ambiance are perfect.

My friends and I visited Valette for a fancy meal during a reunion trip of sorts to Russian River, it was on our shortlist of known good restaurants in Healdsburg to check out. We all did the prix-fixe menu that evening, one of us did the optional wine pairing (and the others did cocktails and a glass of wine). We sat on the covered patio, which is more of a parklet type situation and is adjacent to the road (thankfully not too busy). The food on the whole was excellent - I particularly enjoyed the scallops and the dessert. The wine list was solid, as you'd expect from a restaurant in wine country. I was not that enthused by their cocktail list - for some reason this was presented on an iPad (giving me Olive Garden vibes) - they had the staples but their specialty cocktails were less inspired than I would have expected. They were also missing any sort of hard cider - which again is unexpected, given how popular they have become and how many good local options exist. Food aside, our experience of the ambience and the service fell below par for the cost of the meal. Service felt hurried and a couple of times, we had to ask to order drinks (where they tried to leave after taking an order from just one person in our party). The patio ambience is also not nearly as nice as our brief time inside the restaurant - although it was a slightly cooler evening.

Prefix menu - arranged ahead of time for our larger party

Which is preferable inside or outside ? Not knowing what the weather will be like

I've dined both inside and outside at Valette and really enjoy both! We went once on a cold rainy day and sat outside in the covered patio with heat lamps and it was still just as lovely as inside! Inside is really lovely too and gives that ambient…

Does this place have a bar with seatings?

Yes, at least as of March 2025!

Does the tasting menu include a dessert?

Yes!

How is outdoor seating for Winter?

They have heaters out there so it's not a problem.

Do they have a gluten free menu?

Do they have outdoor dining still?

Park let is still there for outdoor, request upon reserving. Reservations required and they are very booked. Recommend calling to ask for open reservations.

Does this restaurant allow you to take your own wine?

Cost of corkage seems to change with their mood; October 2021 was $25. Worthwhile if you take a bottle you know you'll enjoy and save all the time needed to peruse an impossible list of offers. It's specially worth it if you've been wine tasting and…

Yet, my family decided to stay and it was a wonderful decision. Everything was very well-made and incredible quality! I would HIGHLY recommend getting the prime rib Thursday deal. It came with the prime rib, potatoes, salad, and the dessert for $75. I believe that the Bananas Foster was one of the best desserts I've ever had. I will be dreaming about it. The ambiance was wonderful with the live jazz, and the staff did an excellent job of taking care of us!

The prices for what you get is ridiculous, and the atmosphere is rustic and western. You would think this was Steak 48 or Mastros looking at the reviews and seeing the prices. They could learn a lot from them. My husband had the ribeye ($95) that was over cooked and burnt tasting. My salmon ($58) was dry and the flavor (tasted pre frozen, not fresh) was lacking. The "wedge salad-".. the menu states "wedge salad" ($26) was very sparse and made with little gem lettuce (5 whole leaves), the summer melon salad ($24) was watermelon cubes with 4 cherry tomato halves with a tiny bit of basil chiffonade with topped with some inexpensive balsamic vinegar. My I had a cosmopolitan which was good, however the waiter suggested my husband try a margarita (found the price was $28.00 when the bill arrived!) . The waiter gave us a lesson in ordering steak. When my husband asked for medium rare plus, he said there is no such thing. He boasted about being a server for 10 years and that there's no such thing. He said it's an insult to the chef. Well we've been to many restaurants and many upscale Michelin restaurants and no one has ever corrected us in how we order our steak temperature. But thanks for your sage advise! I would not recommend this restaurant unless you aren't that interested in quality food. ****In response to you reply Jason, I was genuinely surprised by your response. I have always believed that when writing reviews--whether positive or negative--there is an obligation to be honest, fair, and respectful. Suggesting that my review was "malicious" is both inaccurate and disappointing, as that is simply not my nature. You stopped by our table before we had even eaten our meal, so there was no opportunity at that point to comment on the food itself. Unfortunately, our experience did not reflect the level of quality or value we expected. Spending $333.67 for a mediocre steak, salmon that did not taste fresh and was poorly seasoned, a few pieces of watermelon and cherry tomatoes, and an unusual five-leaf "wedge salad," along with two drinks, fell well short of what one would expect from a restaurant with San Francisco fine steakhouse pricing. Rather than responding defensively to constructive criticism, I would have hoped for a more thoughtful and professional reply. As business owners ourselves, we understand that not every customer will leave satisfied. We view honest feedback as an opportunity to evaluate our business, improve where necessary, and educate our staff--not as a personal attack. My review was never intended to be malicious. It was simply an honest account of our experience. I hope you will choose to view it as constructive feedback rather than dismissing it outright. I wish you and your team the very best.

First off, they were so welcoming when we checked in. And I love that it's so pet friendly. Hostess that checked us in was a doll. The inside decor and the layout was so cute. One side is the hostess counter and right across from there is a waiting lounge area which I believe is also utilized for dining. Walking through, they have indoor seating to one side and the bar area to the opposite. Also dining available along the hi top bar counter. We had a big group which they had us set up on the patio. Another beautiful layout. It's like dining in a community garden slash secret garden. Our waitress who took care of us was amazing. So sweet and very friendly. Not just her but the entire staff there. Menu wise looked amazing. Also it was also a recommendation from one of the staff at a winery we were just at. Drink menu was quite huge too. Of course food was on our mind and it did not disappoint. Big group meant a lot of share plates to start off. A double of things ordered to start off. Daily crudo which was served with wonton chips. Fresh fish with all spices and marinaded. It was fresh and delicious. You gotta have oysters if it's available. Curry deviled eggs was quite tasty as well. Your classic eggs with a little twist. Mushroom egg rolls were a hit. It literally came piping hot so it was a little wait till we enjoy it and it was delicious. Came with two dipping sauce which paired very well. Salsa macha fries, similar concept as the elote corn with the coltija cheese, lime creme and cilantro. Brisket can also be added which we opted out for. Then there was the grilled Vietnamese steak with the not so sticky rice in a cube form. Cooked perfectly and the crunchiness of the rice was perfect. Also the dipping sauce was great. Beef brisket tacos were another hit. Two orders and loaded with meat and all the topping. Very flavorful and delicious. Cant come here and not have their almost famous chicken tenders. Big chunks of chicken battered and fried to a nice golden color. It was so juicy and served with pickle chips and dipping. You can have it hot or now with the sauce. Crispy duck confit was delicious. Nice potion of duck with bitter greens and duck fat potatoes. Brazen burger, which was pretty massive. Classic burger but better and with bacon and fries. Then you have the kimchi noodles, added chicken and shrimp or without. That dish was tasty. You either love kimchi or not and the way it was prepared with pasta, delicious. And lastly, the special was a hot ham sandwich I believe. Served with potatoes salad and gherkins. It was a hefty sandwich with loads of meat and cheese. Simply but so good. Food was excellent as we literally had loads from the menu. Of course loads of recommendations which I know why. The food was exceptional and service was great. Restaurant is beautiful and service was excellent. Also they're so pet friendly. Plus, we ordered a dog patty for the pup and it was quite tasty...lol.... Can't wait to come back, hopefully soon. Simple, effective. The turkey pesto was kind of basic, but the addition of the dill and the very fresh bread did do something for me. I think I'll be adding dill to my pesto sandos now? Anyway, solid sandwiches. Wouldn't say it blew me away and they are a bit small for a $20 sandwich, but here we are. Would come back for the baked goods and fresh breads.

We were able to score an early table at Guiso while we were picking up wine nearby. This is the…read moreone place that we try to get to every time we are in town. The food is consistently excellent and elevated, the staff remains professional while still keeping the home-y feel of the restaurant, and I could drink Carlos' passion fruit vinaigrette as an aperitif. We did the chef's tasting menu with wine pairings and loved every course. The wines were also well curated and matched to the food. We have come here many times, but this was the first chef's menu we tried from him, and we were impressed. Highest recommendation!!!

We ordered a bunch of smaller plates to eat, and one was more delicious than the next! Our server was super knowledgeable about the menu and both nice and accommodating. The place is small but we sat outside, and it was a really lovely evening. We shared the Ensalada, which was really refreshing. The Brussels sprouts (Bruselas con camote) are NOT to be missed! We also really enjoyed the pastelitos de papa. We then split the Cachapa (with serrano ham, because, ham), and the Asado. Our group was 3 people, and we left VERY full, but not overwhelmed. My only regret is we didn't have room for dessert -- definitely next time!

We decided to share several dishes family-style, which was the perfect way to sample a variety of menu items. Every single dish was a 10+ in my book! The food was absolutely delicious, and I can see why my friends keep coming back. The service was impeccable from start to finish. The restaurant was easy to find, and I loved the charming décor it felt like a genuine Italian restaurant with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. One of my favorite surprises was the Limoncello Spritz. After a day of wine tasting, it was the perfect light and refreshing drink to end the day. Great food, outstanding service, and a wonderful dining experience. I'll definitely be back!

Staff was incredibly rude and unprofessional and needs some big-time attitude adjustments. My…read morefamily had a big wedding rehearsal dinner there, well over 100 guests. At one point my girlfriend and I were walking from the outside courtyard where the dinner was taking place toward the inside of the restaurant, innocently looking for the restrooms. Some employee with a beard, without saying a word, aggressively steps right in front of us to block our path, as if we we were two homeless people trying to walk in off the street. Doesn't ask "can I help you find something"? or do anything that a cordial person in the restaurant business would do. He just stares at us with a stupid smirk on his face. Seriously, clown? After a couple of awkward seconds, I ask where the bathrooms are and he finally points them out to us. What's worse, at the end of the night, my niece was leaving with her husband when another female staff member rudely told them they couldn't exit directly out the parking lot (even though it was the same entrance where people came in at beginning of the party) and actually grabbed my niece's arm. My niece told her "don't touch me." This staff person then went inside the restaurant and my niece heard the employee screaming in anger. Incredible that this is how their people treat their customers during a huge event. The owner should be completely embarrassed by their employees' unprofessional and rude behavior. They might want to get their employees some anger management training or better yet hire new ones that have experience in the hospitality industry. Until then, pretty sure we can get good meatballs and lasagna some place else that doesn't treat paying customers like garbage.
