Very disappointing experience at Valley Goat. For a $$$ restaurant that presents itself as a higher-end, fancy establishment, the service and attention to basic standards were very lacking. Right as we were seated, my friend noticed a dirty fork at her seat (photo attached to this post). Our server, Francine, was rude and just not nice. One of our friends has a gluten allergy, but Francine failed to give us the gluten-free menu beforehand. By the time she finally brought it over, we had already decided on our dishes. When we asked if she could check our order against the gluten-free options, she just rudely snapped, "Look at the gluten-free menu, it's right there." We expected her to at least ask if it was our first time there or offer some recommendations, but we got nothing. When we tried to order the goat empanadas (one of the key dishes they are well known for) we were told they had completely run out, which was a big disappointment. To make matters worse, a busser dropped and broke a cup right on the table while clearing dishes and didn't even bother to apologize or acknowledge us. On top of that, the restrooms were not clean at all, which adds to this bad review. When we brought up our concerns about the service and experience to our other server, Maria, she said she would speak with the manager. A few minutes later, she returned and simply told us she "couldn't find the manager," offering zero resolution, apology, or effort to make things right. Save your money and go somewhere that actually respects their guests. Will not be returning.

First time! Glad I ventured out, I found this gem close to work and I have to say I am impressed! I worked on this project back in 2020 and visiting it for the first time was an incredible experience! I enjoyed the Syrah I was served, it paired well with the halibut tostadas but not so much with the oysters. The roasted oysters lacked a bit of seasoning, though if you add the sauce that comes with it, it's OK, nothing impressive if you really just want the taste of the oyster and not the seasonings to enhance the taste. I did enjoy the halibut tostadas, I think making the tostadas from scratch suits the dish so well because it's airy and crunchy. I also enjoyed the ambience, it's a nice relaxing place to chit chat and overall mingle and watch a game or two. I'll be back to explore more of their menu items.

ahhh... the G.O.A.T. Review summary...just come here. NOT overrated, I was actually amazed... Everything was brilliant! "Valley Goat, the exciting new restaurant from James Beard Award-winning Chef Stephanie Izard and Boka Restaurant Group. Valley Goat brings the vibrant flavors of Northern California's seasonal ingredients to life with a shareable menu infused with bold, globally inspired creativity. Guests can enjoy the lively and welcoming atmosphere, featuring an expansive outdoor patio and a dynamic bar, making it a perfect spot for any occasion - from a casual meal to an evening of cocktails." - https://www.valleygoatsv.com/about ...makes sense now. Hence the high ratings. The restaurant is part of the boutique hotel Treehouse. Good size venue with plenty of seating, lots of outdoor seating available, with a large lawn area in the back along with a Beer Garden as well. This place is foddie and family friendly. No issues with parking either, there are plenty of spaces, not to mention a valet as well. #GOATEats: MOCKTAILS: ~ TEMPLE FIZZ - 5/5 Absolutely brilliant! That Thai Basil! After the first sip, I wanted this to be on the Cocktail menu...lol. ~ SWEET TART - 1/5 This is just a personal preference, I don't do tart! My home girl loved it. She thoroughly enjoyed the tartness... waaayyy too much for me. lol SNACKS: ~ GOAT EMPANADAS - 4.5/5 Some brilliant empanadas! No gaminess, perfectly done. My only knock was the price point. I thought It was pricey for how tiny it was. $5 per Empanada for a morsel... ~ DISCO FRIES - 5/5 Like Animal Fries to the next level. Perfectly done fries with tender pork and and pickled offerings. PLATES: ~ SAUTÉED GREEN BEANS - 4.5/5 Just about perfect green beans. BIGGER PLATES: ~ STICKY PORK SHANK - 5/5 Absolutely brilliant Pork Shank! Amazing; tender, juicy, moist fall off the bone and that sauce CRISPY skin. One of the best Pork Shank's I had! The Pickled Cucumber Salad on the side was brilliant as well. Bravo! DESSERTS DINNER: ~ PANDAN FLAN - 4/5 The "FLAN" was amazing... taste wise, good Pandan flavor without being overly sweet. The problem was the consistency, this was more like a Custard than a Flan, texture wise. Had to knock a star off a * for that. 5 ***** if this was Pandan custard. I can't wait to return and try the other offerings...

A lovely brunch at Valley Goat! I'm obsessed with the decor here - lush greenery and beautiful dried flowers everywhere. The greenhouse serves as the Tree House hotel's reception area, creating such a unique and relaxing atmosphere. Right next to it is Valley Goat, which offers Californian cuisine with a family-style dining experience. I especially loved their private dining room, with its gorgeous wallpaper and dried flowers hanging from the light fixtures. They also have a spacious outdoor patio that's perfect for enjoying the beautiful weather. My favorite dishes: * Coconut Labneh: The house-made granola was absolutely delicious! * Shrimp Salad: Every bite had wonderful layers of texture and flavor. * Smoked Salmon Dip: The pita bread was incredibly soft and paired perfectly with the creamy dip. Such a beautiful spot for a relaxing meal.

Great place for dinner and cocktails. Server was fantastic, he gave great recommendations and very knowledgeable on menu. Ambience is very nice with low lights and fun decor on the ceiling and bar area. Goat empanadas: 5/5 great starter, packed with flavor and green sauce added a tanginess. Avocado dip and chips: 4/5 very refreshing, chilled and in a very thick silky form. Chips had a nice crisp and saltiness to it. Hamachi poke: 2.5/5 this was just okay, the freshness of the tomatoes and the nuttiness were nice additions but it felt like it was missing something and paled in comparison to other smaller plates. Presentation was very pretty. Sticky pork: 5/5 crispy and yummy skin, very fresh fruits to pair and cut through fatty parts. Lettuce wraps added a good crunch and the mayo and green sauce all together made a very flavorful explosion. Very satisfied with this dish! Olive oil semifreddo: 4/5 burnt almond topping with the light whip cream and soft ice cream. berry gave a bit of sourness and olive oil cake was divine. Very happy with this desert to end off the meal. Had a great balance and made us refreshed at the end. Drinks Berry proud: 4/5 candy was a nice touch and the drink was sweet and strong Jacuzzi: 2/5 this drink was just okay, refreshing but it had an almost bitter taste to it and needed carbonation. One of our favorite meals and we would definitely come back to try the rest of the menu!

Amazing food AND service! Loved the ambiance as well. We chose 4 items and they happened to be the four most popular items per our server haha My favorite was their spicy handroll dip: so flavorful, savory, and the crunch of the fried quinoa perfectly topped off every bite Green beans were my second favorite. Perfect seasoning, accounting for the potential loss of flavor when you bite into the beans. Flavor was basically like the really good string beans you find at Chinese restaurants, but the crunch+flavor combo of the beans were better than most. Wasn't too bland/oily, wasn't too salty Crispy sticky pork shank: the crispy skin was really good, and the flavor lingered in your mouth throughout the entire bite. The sauces were good and balanced the dish well, but the Asian in me wished there were spicy/sweet sauces as an option too haha The Goat empanadas were also very yummy. Perfectly flaky, buttery, and worked well with the sauce Having Luis as our server made our experience even more enjoyable, and made us want to come back! Would definitely recommend for dates, company dinners, or family gatherings!

This lovely restaurant is attached to a hotel. We did not have reservations, so we sat at the bar for dinner. Several bartenders were extremely friendly and attentive. The menu was unique and the food was very good. I especially enjoyed the empanadas and eggplant. I recommend this restaurant.

Stayed the night at the hotel on site and got some take out for dinner. There was a bit of a wait but my husband understood once he saw how busy it was. I ordered the salmon and it was absolutely delicious. The dressing was my favorite part. My husband rrally liked the crispy skin. My husband's order was wrong but the gave him the short ribs. It was a happy accident and he was satisfied. We shared the cauliflower and we've never seen it look like that before. It was like a cross between broccolini and cauliflower. We loved it. We also got the mango sticky rice. It did not look appetizing but boy was it good. I need to go in person to retry everything.

Absolutely exquisite food and I cannot wait to go back. Mouth is watering as I write this review! Between the explosion of flavors and the beautiful ambience, and plate presentations, this place is a must try! I love the Chef who is behind this restaurant and was excited to have watched her in 24 in 24 & Top Chef. I can see why she is a James Beard award winner! I came here recently with three girlfriends, and we shared a variety of dishes, all 5/5! * Avocado Dip + Plantain chips: great combo with plantain chips instead of usual tortilla chips * Wood-fired Eggplant + Carrot hummus, Tzatziki: adored the carrot hummus! * Shrimp Salad - absolutely delicious with crispy shrimp, avocado, quinoa, mandarins in a lime-herb vinaigrette. Outstanding. * Disco Fries: not your average French fries! Loved the pork sausage and pickled red onions, wonderfully tart savory flavor. *Sautéed green beans - next level green beans with a creamy vinaigrette and chopped cashews *Grilled Corn: spiced coconut, cotija and tajin. Delicious! *Red Pepper Bread: melts in your mouth I think we finished everything we couldn't help ourselves. It was so delicious! Really didn't have much room for dessert, but we had to splurge and check it out so we decided to share two plates: *Pandan Flan: I love flan, and this was phenomenal! The pandan caramel paired perfectly with the yogurt crème, and the coconut rice crunch and strawberries added texture. And, the plating was fabulous! *Mango Sticky Rice: the presentation alone was incredible. Best I've ever had. Next level! This is a must! To go along with the incredible food is a beautiful atmosphere that you just want to sit and save her. We had exceptional service as well. I honestly cannot wait to go back. Five stars Chef Stephanie!! I've heard so many good things about the sister restaurant in LA, Girl and the Goat. I will need to go there next time I'm in LA; now that I know what the fuss is all about!

ARE WE IN SILICON VALLEY? 4.5 One might never know this restaurant exists, tucked away near a Google business park just off Highway 101. You could stumble upon it through Yelp (as we did), discover it while staying at the adjacent Treehouse Hotel, or simply hear about it through word of mouth. The parking situation is an interesting one. After turning into the driveway from Mathilda Avenue, you have two options: turn right for valet parking or left into the Google parking lot. There are plenty of spaces available, though parking there is technically at your own risk. The restaurant told us they had not heard of anyone being ticketed or towed. We first dined here shortly after it opened in 2025 and were immediately impressed by the beautiful grounds. The hotel's eco-conscious gift shop, housed in a glass greenhouse and featuring a colorful vintage VW Bug, is a charming touch. The short walk to the restaurant feels especially relaxing on a warm, sunny day. This has become one of our favorite places to bring friends or host girls' lunches. With three distinct seating options: the dining room, bar, and patio, there's an atmosphere to suit just about any occasion, whether you're dining as a couple or gathering with a larger group. I would recommend visiting during lunch or dinner service and skipping the in-between hours. During that time, only the bar area is open and the menu is more limited. To fully experience what Valley Goat has to offer, lunch or dinner is the way to go. Despite the name, the only goat dish on the menu at the time of this review is the Goat Empanadas. My friend was initially hesitant to order them, but David, our wonderful server, and I encouraged her to give them a try. She was glad she did. There was no gamey flavor whatsoever; the meat tasted more like beef, and the accompanying sauce was excellent. Over several visits, we've enjoyed everything we've ordered and are delighted to have a restaurant of this caliber in our Bay Area backyard. Chef and co-owner Stephanie Izard, winner of Season 4 of Top Chef and an Iron Chef title, owns a total of nine restaurants, primarily in the Chicago area, along with locations in Los Angeles and one at Orlando International Airport. Since we enjoy traveling for great food, we'll definitely be adding some of her other restaurants to our list.

Good food with an even better ambiance. The warm natural interior combined with being situated within the Treehouse Hotel property (which is absolutely nothing like your idea of a traditional hotel) made me feel like I got transported to Napa or something. A perfect temporary escape which made me forget I was in the middle of Silicon Valley for a second. But back to the food, honestly everything was good and there wasn't anything our party didn't like. The standout for us was definitely the Wood-Fire Eggplant, and this is coming from a group who is very much not vegetarians. The Mango Sticky Rice dessert was a nice fun way to end the meal, offering a unique take on a classic, but I'd still stick with the traditional way. Our only complaint would be that the server automatically added an additional oyster and goat empanada for our party of 3 without our consent. We were fine with the default serving size of 2 for each since one of us didn't want an oyster and I was fine with just sharing an empanada, but the server didn't bother informing us about serving size and didn't check if it was okay with us. A very simple, "it normally comes with 2, is that okay/would you like to add a 3rd" goes a long way in terms of hospitality. Especially when each additional piece was $10.

Disco fries - absolutely delicious. This was without pork.

This restaurant is located walking distance from the Google Cloud campus. I didn't even know this place existed until we had a team lunch there. I was absolutely blown away with everything I ate. I wish I had more space in my stomach to eat more. - Avocado Dip: this comes with banana chips and the combination was absolutely amazing. - Disco Fries: this comes with pork and we asked them to remove it. I mean the fries were to die for. What a unique twist to the fries. - Chickpea Fritters: I mean wow!! I was not expecting it to taste like Indian street food. It was just so good. The salads looked delicious too. I cannot wait to go back and eat there again. I'm getting hungry just thinking about the food.

Ask the Community - Valley Goat

Can someone with a pistachios/cashew/macadamia allergy eat here? (Other nuts fine) I see one dessert has pistachio. Not sure if chaat has cashew?

Thank you for reaching out! We use pistachios on our cheesecake as well as cashews in our sautéed green beans. For our green beans, the cashews can be removed to make this dish nut free. We do not use macadamias currently, but other nuts and seeds…

    Do they do take out?

    Yes.

    Does it have vegan options?

I didn't see any vegan options when I went for dinner. There's vegetarian options if that contain dairy. The green beans have fish sauce and the grilled corn has cheese. Not sure if these can be omitted, but it will certainly change the taste.

What is the cross or nearest street on Mathilda? Or what is a well known business next to/very near this business?

It's right by the 237 freeway. You can only enter the parking lot from northbound Mathilda, so once you've gone under the freeway, look for the parking lot on the right. If you see Innovation Way, you've gone too far. Technically, there are lots…

Can I bring my pet goat?

Yes you can. Its a dog friendly place

    Should we make a reservation?

If you mean 'reservation', then yes.

    Can I bring my dogs?

Yes, we saw lots of dogs sitting outside on the patio. It seems very dog friendly!

Is there a cake cutting fee?

Hi Sue, we have an outside dessert fee of $5 per person. This includes all outside dessert that are enjoyed during your visit.

    Is there a kids menu?

    yes

    Is there a happy hour?

They have a "Bar & Bites" daily from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. but not what I'd call a traditional Happy Hour with reduced alcohol and food prices.

It had an upscale vibe, but it was in the lobby of a hotel! The menu was interesting -- Japanese whiskey cocktails mainly -- and some food items. If you ask, you can get a little dish of nuts as a complimentary snack with your cocktails. The cocktails were delicious, like the "East Meets West", with most cocktails ranging from $16-20. They have a separate menu for wine and champagne that they brought us awhile later. I think you may need to ask for that if they don't give that to you right away. The drinks were delicious and made pretty quickly, but if you expect table service at this lounge, you may be waiting a long time. We found that the best way to get drinks here is to go to the bar to order, and they can bring the drinks over (or you can wait for them, of course). For the price, I'd expect better service but you may need to go further than Sunnyvale. Overall I think Nokori is a decent bar lounge, and I love the niche is on Japanese whiskey.

Unfortunately, we left regretting that decision. From the start, the experience felt unwelcoming when we were seated with our 3-year-old daughter. There was no single overtly disrespectful moment, but the overall tone and repeated small interactions made us feel like we were being judged for having a child with us. At one point, when our daughter accidentally dropped her fork while playing, the reaction we received came across as frustration, which added to that feeling. We understand not every restaurant is designed for young children, but Broma presents itself as a place for friends and family. Because of that, we didn't feel comfortable raising concerns during the meal when the server checked in--we were more focused on getting through the experience without drawing additional attention. We were also offered an off-menu item without any mention of price. The menu we were given did not list the smash burger, so when I ordered a double, I had no context for the cost. The final price was a surprise, and we would have made a different decision with that information upfront. The food itself did not match the price point. The "smash burger" was not prepared in the style typically expected, and overall the meal felt underwhelming for the cost. Lastly, the billing was confusing. The paper receipt listed "gratuity," while the digital receipt labeled the same charge as a "service charge," making it unclear whether an additional tip was expected. That lack of clarity does not align with the level of transparency expected at this price point. We don't mind paying for a great experience, especially for meaningful occasions, but this visit did not meet that standard and ultimately left us regretting our choice to celebrate here.

The food, however, was not especially impressive. I would not rush back for the food alone. The seafood pasta was too acidic/sour and somewhat underwhelming, so it did not quite land for me and led to the stomach discomfort that lasted into the next day. The quality and presentation do not match the price tag. Also, "broma" means "joke/prank" in Spanish, so naturally I found myself wondering whether the two Black Iberian pigs on the wall were part of the joke. :) I would come back for the vibe, the bar area, and maybe to give the food another try.

The restaurant was very pretty, with a sleek and floral theme. Also, I noticed some herby smell which was pleasant so extra hats off to that detail. I placed a reservation of 5 at 7:45 pm on a Friday night with me and my family, and we had no issues getting to our table. We were a bit late, however staff made sure that we get seated in no time. Once we got sat down, we got our menus and took some time to decide what to order. Our amazing friend and waitress Elizabeth made sure to give us time to thoroughly look through the menu and decide on what we were going to eat. She was very friendly and caring, and was so excited to take our order, which elevated her experience. Her suggestions were perfect for our family. We ordered the Mixto Clásico ceviche, 2 orders of truffle mac and cheese, Arroz Con Mariscos, Pollo A La Brasa (Half chicken), Beef Anticuchero Roll, and Lengua a La Parilla. In five minutes, the staff already brought the ceviche, which included calamari, fish, veggies, and the taro chips. It was refreshing and citrusy. After we finished that , then another 3 minutes goes by, and everything arrived. I was so shocked on how fast they serve especially because of how busy they were. All the dishes were so fresh and cooked to perfection. The mac was so creamy, cheesy, and delectable especially because of the truffles. The pollo a la brasa was cooked nice and tender, served with fries, and that yellow sauce was addicting, literally ON CRACK. The lengua was great, the mashed potatoes along with the lengua, shrimp, and spicy sauce gave it texture and flavor. The nikkei beef antichchuero roll I was surprised with. Sushi in a Peruvian restaurant? However, I did not expect to be one of the best and interesting rolls I have tried ever. The arroz con mariscos was my favorite by far. It really reminds me of a Spanish paella, with a seafood galore presented with a bed of rice and veggies. It was very filling and delicious. Of course, we couldn't just end there, we obviously had to go for dessert. We chose the Tres Leches cake, and it was presented with chocolate, caramel, and strawberry sauce which was sweet and smooth. Paired with the cake, it was so good and a genius combination. In the end, when leaving, our staff asked us if we needed any extra help with anything before we left, which was a very kind gesture. When we left, the staff kindly greeted us a warm goodbye, and thanked Elizabeth especially for helping us order these great assortments of dishes. In the end, we left with our stomachs full of food and great memories. I am already looking forward to my next visit here, and please, give this Peruvian spot a try, because you will never go back to any other ones besides this spot.

We ordered cocktails "Flying Ace" and "Cielo Rosa", Forager Flatbread, and Roasted Beet Salad, and cheese plate. The cocktails were fun and inventive, but maybe a bit too complex for us. The Flying Ace was a smoky old fashioned type drink with a charred cinnamon stick. Maybe the wrong choice for a sunny afternoon outdoor venue. The Cielo Rosa, with mezcal and jalapeño has a lot going on as well. The forager had great mushroom flavor and loved the roasted garlic. The first bites were great- wish they could have kept the crust crispier for later bites. (Heated plate works well) The beet salad was really good. The crushed pistachios really contrasted well with the beets.

The vibe is really cute and tons of outdoor space with games. We came in on a weeknight for dinner and a few drinks. Service was a little slow- our cocktails came after our food items, but staff were friendly. We ordered a few items to share. The strawberry salad was a standout, very fresh ingredients and delicious blend of toppings. We did not add a protein but that was an option. I also enjoyed the shrimp and flatbread. The shrimp had good flavor and was cooked well. The flatbread with duck confit had some heavy toppings with goat cheese and thick glaze. Both were a little too rich for me, but I enjoyed them. Our drinks were tasty and fresh. Overall, we had a good experience and I would go again!
